Description: Helena is a young woman who does not appear very dangerous at a glimpse. The opposite in fact. Helena turned out an unintimidating 5'2. Her build is slim, with light curves on the hips and chest rather than any defined muscle and her face is heart-shaped and girlish, with a set of wide, cherry-red eyes. She has a mop of untidy, red hair, which falls for her lower back. She has very pale skin that is quite prone to burning. A rather noticeable band of pinkish scar tissue stretching from her eye down her face to her shoulder.



Personality: Unorthodox would be the polite way to describe Hel....weird would be the less polite way. She appears a bit peculiar. Many say that Helena seems to live in a world of her own, and in a way that could be said to be true. Helena does not view the world like others do, and her reactions are often seen as inappropriate by those around her.

Her behaviour is often thought of as weird, though does seem to follow some sort of logic…in Helena’s mind at any rate…it just tends not to be a level of logic that anyone else has ever encountered before. While it might not initially be clear, she is painfully shy and awkward around people, mainly due to an acute awareness of how people view her. This tendency to assume others think the worst of her often makes her seem rather aloof. Getting past the initial strangeness of the young woman, she is a pleasant, highly intelligent individual. She appreciates the friendship of others, even if it’s not always openly visible, and is very dedicated to those that she is close to.

She tends to let her mind wander frequently, and doesn’t often commit to things, her actions and her appearance often making people assume that she is rather weak-minded, or even suffering from mental illness. This is not true. Her outward delicacy hides a fire of great proportions. She pursues things with a dogged determination that can be both impressive and very foolish.

+ Red Queen Form - The Red Queen is Helena's demonic form, and places itself as a polar opposite to her usual demeanour. Spiteful, cruel and vengeful, she draws on all of Helena's hidden resentments and insecurities to be...a bit of a nightmare.
+ Tulpa - Helena is able to, with sufficient preparation, manifest her thoughts and dreams as physical beings. These things are tied to Helena...though not necessarily to her own will. The thoughtform can pull up her dreams...but her nightmares also. Peculiarly, this power is far easy to activate when Helena is asleep than when she is awake....not always a good idea when what it brings up can be a complete wildcard.

Biography/History: Helena is not exactly what one might call to mind when they think 'world-destroying evil'. Small, quiet, unassuming...possibly quite eccentric, but otherwise well-meaning.

She appears entirely oblivious about the terrible extent of the deadly conflict between the WDL and the forces of hell.

This is, like many things in the world, entirely deliberate on the part of some scheming bastard.

Helena was born as the illegitimate child of a woman in a prominent family, much to the shame of their name and the woman's reputation. She was terrified of the ridicule that might be heaped upon her for the sake of this unwanted offspring.

Fortunately for her, someone was kind enough to step in, a silver-haired man who referred to himself as Mr Green. He explained that he had lost his wife and children a few years previously, and, being in possession of a great fortune, but no-one to leave it to, he would like to take the illegitimate child off of Miss Kingley's hands.

It seemed a mutually beneficial arrangement for all concerned. The man was kind and courteous, and certainly seemed to possess access to lots of money and influence... and promised to be extremely discreet in his undertaking of such a responsibility. So, Miss Kingley agreed. It wasn't until years later when she found herself being questioned by the WDL about this apparent knight in shining armour that she was made aware of the fact that she had passed her eldest child off to be raised by Leviathan, Demon of Envy, a Lord of Hell.

For all the alarming sound of something such as being raised by a demon, Helena enjoyed quite an easy, if rather sheltered and isolated, childhood.

Leviathan made a point about keeping her well away from the conflict, the WDL, and any obvious demons, whilst hoping to cultivate his charge's powers in a way that he could make use of. From Helena's point of view, Leviathan has been nothing but a pleasant, if somewhat distant father figure towards her. She has been passed around numerous places, numerous people owing her guardian a favour, when here benefactor has been 'attending to business'.

But it's coming to crunch time. Leviathan needs results, and doesn't mind too much what he, or she, has to do to get them.

Description: Clocking in at roughly 4 foot 11 inches in boots, and without much muscle mass to speak of, Dawn isn’t exactly the most imposing figure around. Her face is soft and open, with pale skin and grey eyes ringed with shadow. Her hair is black and thick, and Dawn has grown it to her hips- although, as a result, she has developed a habit of styling it in a side plait to keep it out of the way most of the time.
Dawn usually tries to “dress to impress”, donning skirts, tights, cardigans and flats to work and throughout everyday life. Winter sees her swapping to a modest sweater and slacks, and warm seasons have her lose the cardigan entirely. In more casual settings, she’ll don a simple pair of jeans and a shirt, but there’s one constant throughout many of her wardrobe changes- a hat. Regardless of setting, she’ll often be found wearing a hat of some kind, although her apparent favorite is a black sunhat.



Personality: By nature, Dawn is a gentle soul, soft spoken and polite towards strangers and friends alike. She tends to be quite protective and maternal towards friends of hers, and makes an effort to grant a level of respect to most. However, while friendly and slower to anger than some, she is not necessarily a yes-woman- oftentimes, when made annoyed by someone or a situation, her irritation will manifest itself as a dry sort of humor and a somewhat snarky commentary. This humor tends to be present regardless, however. When genuinely angered, Dawn grows calm to the point of frigidity, becoming vengeful and keeping her grudges close at hand.

Biography/History:
For a world where demons and werewolves walk the same streets as humanity, and buffalomen lurk in the heart of national forests, Dawn’s life has been surprisingly pleasant. The child of an Italian physician and an American lawyer, she was born and raised near the edges of Ohio, where mutual family friends lived. Due to the combined incomes of her parents, the family didn’t face many struggles financially, although there was a strong pressure put upon Dawn to excel- especially in the face of her brother, who had stolen money from the family and booked it to Las Vegas once he was old enough to do so.

Both elementary and middle school passed without much event, aside from a batch of noteworthy grades, but sometime in high school Dawn came into the acquaintance of a boy named Jojo. While she had little friends at the time due to her focus on schoolwork, their shared interest in reading led to her hanging around him more often than not. By the time they had graduated, she had begun to regard the other as a close friend, and left for university with the promise to keep in touch if possible.

While Dawn had initially intended to become a lawyer like her mother, she eventually decided to shoot for a job in law enforcement, having admired police and detectives throughout most of her life. With her grades, she was able to snag a slot in a criminal justice university over in New York, and promptly moved there, eager to start pursuing her future. Her grades stayed high, and as a reward, Dawn was sent to a trip to London by her parents. While touring there, she found herself running into her old classmate, Jojo. The man was in a tight spot, and, concerned for her old friend, she invited him to live with her so he could get back on his feet.

The two now stay together in a two bedroom apartment, both working in pursuit of their education. While having a roommate took a bit to get used to in the beginning, Dawn is content, comfortable with the route that her life has taken. (Jojo being able to cook hasn’t hurt, either.)

Description:
Standing at a height of 5’6” feet, Madison is a man of fair complexion, with gentle features, dark eyes, and even darker curls that fall to his chin. Even without his...unique choice of wardrobe, he’s notably androgynous, lacking the masculine hardness of features or the telltale stubble that would be clear indications of his gender. In addition, while he has developed muscles from the WDL’s training, his form is slim, further blurring the lines.
His androgynity, however, tends to be easily overshadowed by his aforementioned outfits. Although Madison is male, and identifies himself as such, it’s difficult to catch him at a time when he isn’t decked out in a skirt and heels. With the use of a bit of makeup, it becomes very difficult to determine that he is a man without being told.

While working, Madison tends to dress very professionally- donning his labcoat over a simple pencil skirt and blouse- but when out and about, he tends to be much more expressive and colorful in his outfits.



Personality:
At heart, Madison is an open, good-natured individual. Mellow towards most everyone, regardless of their own feelings towards him, he’s usually willing to have polite chit-chat when his schedule allows him to do so, or even set aside time for the sole purpose of talking with a friend or acquaintance. He takes most things in stride, and it takes quite some time for him to get riled as a result- although, even then, it’s very rare for him to explode. His rage usually manifests itself as silent anger and disapproval, contrasting greatly against his usual sunny disposition.
Despite being affiliated with the WDL for roughly sixteen years by now, Madison is still quite hesitant to harm others- although he is still willing enough to pick up a weapon if need comes to it.

- Madison adores dancing. Lindy Hop, quickstep- he’s picked up a few styles throughout his life, and is more than happy to use them.
- Given his line of work, as well as natural curiosity, Madison enjoys learning. While between reports, he will usually open up a new book or magazine, or browse the internet.
- Strolling. It’s also not uncommon for him to wander around the base in his free time, either, especially as it helps him think.

Secrets?:
- Has the tendency to smuggle nonhumans out of the WDL after they are brought to him. Interestingly enough, he has faced little repercussions from this habit.

Outlook on life: “There is little in this world that we shouldn’t try to understand.”
For all the difficulties that come with a WDL lifestyle, Madison has remained an optimist. He believes that there is no harm in offering a bit of courtesy in most situations- which, given his easy nature, often leads him into particularly interesting situations.

Major Abilities:
+ Holy Fire: Madison produces a righteous blaze from his body, often manifesting itself from his hands or fingertips. He is able to direct this fire and put it out if he wishes, although it does follow the physics of regular fire, capable of spreading and harming allies if he is not careful in his control. The flames he produces are especially painful to demonic entities.
+ Temperance: A facet of his Holy Fire ability, Madison is able to produce a gentle flame that, rather than burn, heals. This fire cannot spread or grow large, although by using it on the wounds of others, he is able to encourage the rapid growth of skin and muscle. This ability is restricted in that he cannot heal what the body would be unable to heal naturally- while he could patch up a cut on one’s leg and prevent bleeding out, he cannot regrow an arm or repair a spine after a sword has been run through it.
+ Sanctorium: Madison is able to erect a barrier made wholly of his magic, shielding him and those behind it from attacks. He is able to form shields of various sizes and shapes, although maintaining larger ones tires him out faster.

Minor Abilities:
- Spell Circle: A spell crafted for him by Arthur, this ability allows him to create a small circle of holy flames around a demon, keeping them pinned in place for as long as he can maintain the spell. If he so desired, Madison is able to launch his victim as well, throwing them in a direction of his choice.
- Abyss Hop: An ability taught to him by Illusion, Madison is able to create small “cracks” in the world around him. These rifts serve as transportation for him, allowing him to enter and leave them in order to quickly move around. However, this ability is restricted, in that he can only form these portals within his line of sight.
- Seirenes Hymn: Madison’s voice takes on a placating effect, easing feelings of anger or distress and calming others, although this effect isn’t necessarily foolproof.

Special Ability: Transmutation: This power allows for Madison to reach into the cellular makeup of non-sentient and minorly sentient objects and beings, reconstructing them. This ability is activated by touch, and takes a fair bit of concentration on his part to perform.

Loyalty Level: 8/10. Even if some of the WDL’s methods and mentality disturb Madison at times, it’s still his home. Leaving it would be leaving his family, and he doubts that he would be able to do that.



Biography/History:
While the WDL has taken in many orphans throughout the years, Madison is a somewhat interesting case among them. Born the second child to the Lovettes, the boy’s early years were quite ordinary on the surface. The family wasn’t rich, but it wasn’t poor, either. They lived in the suburbs, and sometimes went out to the park when both parents had the time. The most notable thing about them was that their eldest daughter had died from a young age due to heart complications, and even that, while tragic, was not enough to set them apart.
What was, however, was the fact that the fact that the Lovettes denied any and all claims of them having a son.
They had daughters.

For whatever reason- grief, instability, or any combination of the sort- Madison had been raised as a girl by his parents. He played with dolls, grew his hair long, and wore dresses. Any and all paperwork officially listed him as “female”, and, given the fact that his was a home birth, and the Lovettes were a couple of fair reputation within their community, there was no need to question it initially. It was only after a young Madison had spilt on his dress and was sent to the nurse’s office for a change of clothing that his gender was discovered. Social Services were quickly called, and Madison was taken from his home. Due to a lack of foster homes at the time, he was placed in an orphanage, where he was placed into therapy to try and provide him with a normal life. Having grown up as a girl, Madison resisted the change, and would often steal the toys and belongings of the girls living at the orphanage for himself.
Some ways into his stay there, certain higher-ups of the WDL had happened to stop by the children’s home. For whatever reason, they did not leave alone- Madison came with them, adopted and brought along to the base. Without the treatment given to him at the orphanage, Madison quickly rebounded into old habits, hiding the clothing of female WDL members and dressing himself in them when he believed no one to be watching. One of these members happened to be Illusion, Madison’s self-proclaimed guardian, who simply bought him the clothes he desired and let him indulge in his fascination.

Madison himself remembers little from his early life, however- of if he does, he doesn’t mention it. He was raised primarily within the WDL’s walls, and, while his guardians were not cut from the most normal cloth, he had a fairly happy childhood. As he has grown, however, Madison has become increasingly aware of the darker side of the organization, and has become quite uneasy about it. Nevertheless, he has remained loyal, climbing to his current position within the organization- although he is still firmly against certain practices of the WDL, and even outright refuses to participate in a few.
This has not escaped the attention of certain people.

Description: Gael takes the appearance of a rather beautiful young boy, with large chocolate-brown eyes and soft blond curls that reach his chin. His build is slight and waifish, often swallowed up by pastel-colored coats several sizes too big for him. The demon also displays a remarkable fondness of bows- bows on his coat, bows on his boots, and a large bow tied neatly around his throat. His pockets are often swollen to the brim with candies and sweets, and it is a very rare occasion for the boy to be found without the stem of a lollipop poking from the corner of his mouth.
There are a few...unsettling aspects to him, however. Like the sharpness of his teeth. Or the claws that can protrude from his fingers at his whim, parting the flesh in their escape.



Personality:
On the surface, Gael appears to be a polite, if not a bit overly formal and stiff, young boy. He expresses a genuine enthusiasm in his “work”, frequently giving away his creations, and enjoying others playing games with him. However, given what he really is, Gael’s nature is a bit more malevolent. He experiences little to no emotions, and, while he possesses an understanding of it, his own grasp of morality is shaky at best. This leads him to be incredibly manipulative and cruel at times, especially when striving towards his ambitions. The almost childlike curiosity and fascination he regards the world with only worsens this.

Major Abilities:
+ Lordship’s Duel: Much like the famous song “The Devil Went Down to Georgia”, Gael can invite a target to a game of their choosing, regardless of age, gender, or species. If the target accepts, then the mark of the golden apple is stained into their skin, marking them as a player of his duel, and allowing Gael to trace the person’s location. In the event that the target were to win, they would be granted one favor from Gael himself- the only restrictions being that they cannot result in his own destruction, or place him into a situation that would make him at great risk of destruction. The mark would linger on their flesh until their wish was granted, upon which it would vanish completely. In the event that Gael wins, however, the target will become indebted to him in turn.
+ Luck of the Draw: By rolling a magical die, Gael is able to use one of six different powers, depending on which side the die happens to land on. Each is associated with a different element, and have their own unique effects when activated- although the timespan that he can use them in is quite brief.
- Ignis, the First: Balls of fire form and launch themselves at opponents, bursting on impact.
- Inrigo, the Second: Gael fires a blast of high pressured water, capable of slicing through metal and other materials.
- Terra, the Third: Giant rocks jut sharply from the ground, serving as protective walls or weapons, depending on its use.
- Aether, the Fourth: Gael becomes incredibly light, floating about freely and becoming much faster than usual.
- Lumen, the Fifth: Thin tendrils of light wrap about Gael’s body, knitting together wounds and healing bone.
- Caligo, the Sixth: A dark fog spills from Gael’s lips. When inhaled, it prompts feelings of strong euphoria and pleasure.
+ Marionette: Long strips of fabric manifest themselves from Gael’s body, which he can control and manipulate with the same ease as if they were his limbs. These appendages, despite appearing to be made of some sort of cloth or similar material, are quite durable, withstanding attacks that would easily tear apart regular ribbons, and even exhibiting a resistance against heat and flame. As a result, he is able to use them for many purposes- suspending himself and crawling on ceilings and walls, walking on them, using them as hands when his own are occupied or for extended reach, as claws, and so on.

Minor Abilities:
- Pied Piper: Gael is able to imbue his influence into a wide variety of playthings and knicknacks. By doing this, he is able to animate them at will, moving them or even bestowing a small degree of sentience for a time. He is also able to spy through these toys, seeing and hearing what they do, and can track down their location if he so desired. The objects affected by his magic bear the mark of a brilliant gold apple somewhere upon them.
- Hide and Seek: This ability allows Gael to become completely invisible, shrouding his presence and allowing him to move around unnoticed.
- Dolly: Disturbingly, Gael does not exhibit the traits of a “normal” living being. He does not bleed when cut- a black, tarry substance flows through his veins, which congeals rapidly when exposed to open air-, parts separate from his body do not rot, and are even able to move even when detached. As a result, it is possible for him to literally drag himself back together, stitching bits and pieces back onto his body.

Special Ability: Puppetmaster: Being a demon of games, Gael is able to draw the soul of a victim from their body, transferring it into a toy of his choosing. The soul will remain intact, preserved within its “host”, while the body becomes little more than an empty husk- another plaything. He is able to manipulate and control the leftover shell, or even instill a sort of mindless drive into it. While under his influence, the body will not bleed, and can easily be repaired if the damage is not major. Gael is also able to return the soul to its rightful place if he desired, although if the body is too damaged, then they will die straight away.
While the toy that the soul is stored in is remarkably difficult to destroy, in the case that it is, the soul disappears- the left over body simply becoming a regular corpse.

Standing at five foot ten inches Rick weighs about sixty eight kilograms with snow white hair and a rather small thin frame. One eye is a soft sky blue while the other one is stained a reddish brown. He likes to leave his hair loose generally but he will comb it back during meetings and other high profile attendances.

At school or on the job he'll wear the standard uniform provided for the WDL. For social outings he'll wear fine black suits, dressing expensively albeit with little in the way of jewelry or other such tokens of wealth. He likes to look professional without necessarily showing off any degree of wealth since it's all provided for him. He sees little need to visibly demonstrate the WDL's wealth in the form of watches and the like.

In casual company he'll dress down, wearing a cool colored t-shirt of some variety and some grey cargo pants. He likes having many pockets which they are good for. Most of his shirts have pockets since he likes having at least one pen and one pencil on him at all times.

A couple of additional notes is that, firstly, he typically carries his saber with him to most areas where such an item is permitted. Secondly, he has a scar over his left eye. He doesn't like to talk about it.

Personality:

On the surface he is a rather friendly albeit reserved fellow. He conducts himself politely and tries to make good with those around him. If others have problems he will seek to help them however he can should they desire the assistance. Regularly he is fairly busy as he likes to study, filling his head with knowledge pertinent to demons and the trials ahead so that he may be better prepared. Rare is it that he's doing something other than reading with his free time.

Beneath his facade he works tirelessly towards the goal of the Warriors of Divine Light, that being to destroy demons. He pretend to be friendly and aloof largely as a defense mechanism. He cannot allow himself to grow close to anyone as at any moment their lives may end violently. He cannot afford to care about others until he finds the strength to right what's wrong with the world. On the other hand he cannot be cold to his allies and risk alienating them should he need their assistance. He maintains relationships largely out of job necessity rather than an actual desire to have company.

At his core he has suffered a great deal. He is bent for revenge against the one who wronged him and everything around him is an asset, a means to an end. That is not to say he holds no empathy for those around him but he has a bone to pick with one particular demon and all other demons have fallen on his bad side as a result. Still, he'd rather build bridges as opposed to burning them so as long as someone doesn't do something so foolhardy as to try and bar him from his mark he can still work with them.

Given his background he is utterly driven to grow in power so he will never be at anyone else's mercy. There is not a thing he feels stronger about than this.

Major Abilities:

+ Paper Form

Upon entering his Awakened Demon form Rick assumes a new body, one made entirely out of paper. He gains all the benefits and drawbacks being made of paper brings. As he is able to control paper he is also able to control his body without fault. Should this form be damaged the paper will mimic damage inflicted to a real body, only in paper form. These changes don't cause pain or hinder his performance. If the damages made to his body aren't repaired before he turns back into his human form though he'll retain these injuries, effecting him as though he sustained such injuries in his human form. Obviously some forms of damage to paper are easier to mend than others. Tape might be able to hold torn sections of paper together but it does little to help against fire. He can use his manipulation of paper to change his body accordingly however he cannot return to normal with more to his body than he'd have in his normal, healthy state.

+ Summon Paper

While his Awakened Demon form is active Rick is able to summon anything made of paper so long as he knows what it is and has a good idea as to where it is. This method of summoning has a mild flexibility, able to include non-paper materials such as book covers and other things so long as they are firmly attached to paper. The less he knows about the location of the papers he is trying to summon however the greater his chance of erroneously taking the wrong article of paper is. The summoning's chance of error is even greater if he is trying to summon a specific page and it's lost within a stack of papers. He cannot summon paper into a space that is physically occupied by another object.

+ Paper Voodoo Doll Syndrome

In his Paper Form Rick can use dark magic to passively exchange a portion of all damage he receives to many targets. By simply touching his target Rick can instantly place a red X anywhere on the target's body. So long as this X remains on the target any damage taken by Rick will be divided in half, the remaining damage taken instead by the X marked target. If two targets are marked with Xs Rick instead only takes a third of the damage dealt, the two marked targets each taking a third of the damage as well. The amount of damage suffered by Rick can be shared by up to ninety nine targets, all of them suffering a minimum of one percent of the damage dealt. The red X applied to the target works like a red X drawn on by a red permanent marker. It will wear off over time but cannot be washed off. There are only two non-magical means of removing the red X quickly. One is by removing the section of skin it is applied to. The other mean of removing the red X is with lemon juice. No other type of citrus will suffice.

As some additional details of note while damage suffered by Rick will be shared to those with red Xs on them damage suffered by these targets will not transfer to Rick. Additionally the parameters for where Rick needs to touch in order to place a mark do include clothing as well as items in their possession. What does not fit within the parameters of what he can touch to apply an X to the target are furniture the target might be using or anything else they might be touching that doesn't classify as an item in their possession.

Minor Abilities:

- Paper Control

While this may be under Minor Abilities this ability is the meat of Rick's power. With this ability he can move, manipulate and change any and all paper. He can only exert an amount of force equal to his magical strength over a single piece of paper. This force is not divided amongst the number of pieces of paper he has under his control. In addition to this he can alter the paper's shape as well as create and even change images upon the paper to whatever he desires. The only thing he cannot do is change the physical properties of paper. Paper is still paper, complete with all it's strengths and all it's weaknesses.

- Knowledge Conduction

Rick is able to read the entirety of any book or any other written article simply by touching it. With a simple touch all information contained upon the paper will be absorbed into his mind instantly. The drawback to this power is that the more information he absorbs the greater it strains his mind. If he absorbs too much information at once he stands a risk of passing out. Typically he'll need to wait for several minutes to let his mind relax after absorbing the knowledge of a regularly sized book. Still considerably faster than the time it would take to actually read one.

- Inscribe Magic

Rick has the ability to create scrolls and other magical parchments capable of unleashing magical effects by triggering the runes imprinted on said parchment. Able to tap into a vast well of various magics Rick can imprint these spells upon various parchments in the form of magical runes. Upon creation of the scroll Rick designates the methods and/or events required to activate said scroll, activating the spell stored within. The only limits to what spells are able to be etched onto paper are that Rick must know and understand the spell he's writing and that Rick must also have the capacity to cast said spell. People other than Rick can use the scrolls/parchments so long as they understand how to activate them.

As the event had tripped the radar agents had been dispatched to locate the child, observe the situation and act from there. They determined it best to extract the child and take him back to headquarters. We had him taken to get his eye healed. They did their best but some staining and scarring remained.

Over the years he's adapted quite well to life at the WDL. He puts forth a great effort to better himself both scholastically and in weapons training. His greatest weakness thus far appears to be his strength. He applies his mind well and has decent cardio however he could use to build more muscle. Despite that drawback he's quite well suited to the tasks ahead."

Biography/History:

The Tale of The Plague Doctor is the only known evidence this mysterious figure even exists.

It begins in the early years of the black plague. A man had returned from war to his small village. He took up the recently developed craft of his late father, the resident doctor. In the man's absence the plague had spread to this village and to his father no less. When the man took up his father's mantle the mayor of the town approached him with a request. He asked that the victims of the plague be killed and buried so as to prevent risk that they'd spread the disease to those that still lived.

The man accepted the offer. He crafted for himself a garb which would protect himself from infection and went to work. Whenever a villager became sick with the plague he'd quietly enter their home and cut them down with the edge of his father's shovel. Afterwords he'd bury them, ensuring the bodies did not spread the disease further. Entire families met their end like this.

Of course there was no stopping it. One by one, person by person The Plague Doctor killed them without care for their pleas. They were sick. Soon the only two people left alive were him and the mayor. The mayor's plan to protect himself from sickness by having The Plague Doctor put the sickly to death had come to naught. He was sick with the plague.

The mayor begged to be spared but The Plague Doctor no longer could hear his words. With one deadly smash he caved the mayor's head in with the flat of the shovel's head. The mayor was buried in his deceased wife's own garden.

With that the only one left from that village that he needed to bury was himself. As he walked up to the tree up on the hill near his home he saw an open grave already made for him. When he approached that grave he saw a stone stairwell leading down into the depths of the earth. He walked down these steps the earth filled in behind him, burying him as he descended into his grave.

If everyone died though, then who witnessed this and told the tale? Apparently the bard who had spoken of this tale had heard it from a man who claimed to have heard it from another man who claimed he could speak to crows. The story thus had been considered as little more than a macabre work of fiction. After all, only a fool would listen to a tale from a man who'd speak to madmen that believed they could speak with birds, right?

What he wears is extremely variable as he goes from disguise to disguise with great rapidity

An easily excitable demon with big dreams and a lot to prove.

He's easily characterized by his lust for glory and his love for human pop culture. He'll go above and beyond to gain any measure of fame or recognition. He tries to think outside the box, trying things which either fail or succeed spectacularly. No matter what he does though he is no subtle fellow. His excitement and desire for recognition well exceeds his ability to manipulate others.

In truth he's rather child like in his manner. Unrefined and more concerned with spectacle opposed to effectiveness. He does harm not really out of malice but with a zeal for approval combined with an eagerness to play with power.

That's not to say he isn't aware of some hard truths. Living in hell as one of his strength means knowing his own mortality well. He's kept well to the shadows and he is quite sneaky when he needs to be. He doesn't much care for hiding himself however, preferring to be the center of attention when he can seize it.

It's never good to go into a plan without an escape plan and Geppetto's plan is particularly slippery. At any time he can eject his soul from his current body and escape either back into hell or into a nearby inanimate body. His soul cannot escape if it is trapped with magic however.

Minor Abilities:

- Recycled Parts.

He's unique for a puppet as the parts composing his body are largely disposable. If he looses an arm he can reconnect it and it will resume functioning. The more damaged a limb is the less optimally it will perform.

Geppetto can also can make replacement limbs out of any makeshift material. The material will animate no differently than his starting limbs however their durability and weight will play into account. Parts that were previously operational like guns or other devices will continue operating as they did previously instead of serving as the limb it's replacing. He will however have control over the device attached as he would a living limb.

- Master of Disguise.

Okay, perhaps he's not a master of disguises. This ability grants him the power to conjure forth any disguise he wishes. The disguises come with clothing, makeup, fake prosthetics and props. The props only function to mimic their real counterparts in aesthetic. He can don these disguises instantly, spinning in a blur only to appear in his disguise of choice.

- Really Deep Pockets.

Geppetto's pants pockets can be used to hold a wide variety of things, more things than you'd assume pockets could hold.

His pockets can stretch out to the circumference of a sewer manhole cover and can house up to a shipping container's worth of contents. Whatever he wants out of his pockets always come right to his hands when he reaches in.

Biography/History:

There once was a puppeteer, down in the dark depths of hell. He made puppets and held puppet shows for his fellow demons. He had the ability to make his puppets come alive, to act and perform for him on their own right.

He was crafting one particular puppet however it did not come out right. It's eyes seemed to drift to the sides, it's wicked grin was askew. With just a head, a body and an arm made the puppeteer simply decided to discard the half made puppet, leaving it among his pile of other spare puppet parts and other materials.

This puppet, despite it's unfinished state, had been kept in his hands long enough for it to have come to life however. In the darkness of the attic where it was kept this puppet spent it's birth crawling with it's one arm through the darkness. It learned to move in the state was at however, making due as it was. Then it saw the crack.
An ever so slight crack in the floor boards led the puppet to see the shows that went on below. Brothers and sisters to him were all dancing and acting out plays while demons all laughed and applauded along. Seeing the puppets who were whole made this puppet realise that he was incomplete. He'd need more than just an arm if he were to join them.

With determination he put together the rest of his limbs, attaching them to himself with a great deal of patchwork. A hand with only three fingers and a thumb, a glove with a patch sewn over the hole on it's back, one wooden leg which was longer than the other and a pair of brown cobbled shoes with uneven shoe laces. His efforts paled in comparison to even the discarded works of the puppeteer but he wasn't going to be daunted in his ambition.
One day as the other puppets were acting out on stage the puppet managed to jimmy open the lock on the attic door, slipping out from the dark recesses above and rushing out into the theater, his wooden heart alight with joy.
None were glad to see him. The audience was confused and annoyed by his interruption, the other puppets were surprised and shocked by his reveal and the puppeteer though surprised was ultimately disappointed. The failure he had hoped to forget was not only alive much to his surprise as he never knowingly gave the puppet that gift but it was now public knowledge. The only answer was to destroy the puppet lest it ruin his reputation.

The puppet stood awaiting applause and cheers yet only received startled gasps and disgruntled grunts. He turned to see his very creator coming towards him, hammer in hand. The glint in the demon's eye was enough warning for him. He started running, the puppeteer giving chase, and fled out through the door into the dark and twisted streets of Ashanty, a small and poor town in the midst of hell.

For many years the streets were what he called home. Geppetto, as he now called himself, lived a hard life, sticking to the dingy corners where other demons weren't already hiding. Anytime a powerful demon would pass through the lesser demons would scatter and he was no exception. He had to steal, beg and take whatever work anyone would give him simply to get by. He had to be sneaky since the tougher of the smaller demons frequently liked to trounce the lesser demons and scour them for belongings. His life was hard but living down the shame of his past was even harder.
Of course the latest war on humanity rolled around so now there's work to be done. Where there's work to be done Geppetto is almost always guaranteed to show, trying his hardest to get the job so he can be given the opportunity to impress others.

Description: Being as vain as she is, the closest thing Miss Dansbury has to a physical imperfection is that some might say her ears are too big or set too far forward on her face. Being as vain as she is about her own appearance, even before her powers were unlocked, she has always been fearful of anything that would leave a permanent mark. So no, to answer your question, she is very nearly Snow White in regards to blemishes, tattooes, scars, et cetera. Her scars are mostly psychological and it's honestly a miracle that she hasn't received anything aside from stubbed toes and small bumps on the noggin! Don't worry, this will very likely change as things progress.

Monica stands 5'7" with an elegant, hourglass figure (roughly 130 lbs so she's a bit of a string bean) that she is quite proud to possess and upkeep.

Outlook on life: As a human, she was all about looking her best and achieving academically. Major Abilities:
+ (Passive): All demons and humans, and perhaps some non-humans, around her within a certain GM-determined radius become increasingly self-conscious (to the point of severe diva in extreme cases) the longer they remain nearby. Other people must be a Child of the Devil or have a Willpower of A or higher to resist.

+ (Daily): Once every 24 hours, she has the ability to instantaneously clean (BUT NOT HEAL) up to five different bodies - including herself - simultaneously AND freshen up their clothes/armors. (Basically an AOE prestidigitation from D&D 5e.) This spell can also be useful to distract demons and creatures with a good sense of smell as it temporarily masks all other odors around the five for several minutes with a far more pleasing fragrance.

+ (Offensive): As her only offensive magical ability, she can attempt to decrepify individuals. That is, making them at least APPEAR to have taken on the physical characteristics of an elderly person for a GM-determined amount of time. For example, she could potentially make King Arthur temporarily unable to parkour across rooftops while she uses this time to re-position at will. Willpower level for potential resistance must be B+ or higher.

Minor Abilities:

- Reveal Muffins: She simply says "I want my muffin!" or "Show me the muffins!" and she is able to see muffins through any surface in a 360 degree radius of roughly 1,000 feet. Sadly, Satan did not give her a power to summon muffins (cruel bastard), so she can become rather pouty and dour without her addiction.

- Look At Me!: Once per 24 hours, Monica can potentially become so irresistible that the closest male to her, Children of the Devil included, either trips or stutters (or both) and blushes profusely for seemingly no reason. Must have a Willpower of A or higher to resist. This power can be used both in and out of combat, but cannot be used on the same target with Devil's in the Details (below).

- Devil's in the Details: If Monica is about to be late to something happening at an appointed time, she gains a burst of speed. Can only be used once per day and the interpretation of "late to something" is VERY open (such as late to a meeting or late running to some place far away from this angel/demon chasing me). The target chasing her, Children of the Devil included, become distracted by the back of her and slow down, unless they have a Willpower of A or higher. She can either use Look at Me! or Devil's in the Details, but not both combined on the same target.

Special Ability: Her ultimate ability is an AOE charm that makes people walk towards her, unable to do anything but stare, for a certain amount of time. The duration doubles against targets of the opposite sex or of lesbian persuasion. Characters MUST possess a Willpower rating of A+ or higher to resist her charm.

Biography/History:

Monica grew up with, obviously, just her mother in a relatively rundown flat in an impecunious suburb of Albany, New York. As a child and all throughout puberty, she was raised Catholic solely by her mom who was extremely devout but addicted to gambling. The - ironically Albanian - mafia in Albany decided to pay Monica's mom a visit for accruing such a vast amount of debt that she claimed she was "praying would go away."

The mafia bestowed a parting gift of poison that continually raised the mother's body temperature until her internal organs quite literally imploded on themselves. To Monica, who was only nine at the time and enrolled in public school, it looked as if her mother had just taken sick of a normal fever.

After her mother's death, Monica was assigned to the tiny orphanage in that basically nameless suburb by a judge, although she earned an early emancipation from a different judge at age sixteen and went back to live in her mother's shabby flat so it would not be condemned. For the next two years, she put all her effort into the beautification of the property, which is probably the most hard work she'll ever do and the dirtiest she's ever gotten with all that manual labor.

One day, before entering the supermarket with meager coin enough for bread, peanut butter and apple juice (her favorite), a homeless guy outside the store reached out and grabbed her by the bare ankle (for she had chosen to wear a frilly knee-length sky blue skirt with a violet rose pattern that was one of the nicest bits of her mother's remaining clothing). "Ho ho, lass! Get me some Cheez-Wiz while yer in there?" he asked in a gloating voice, a snaggle-tooth poking completely out of his mouth like the Leaning Tower of Pisa - her favorite monument - as he leered at her in a way that was anything but favored by her. It was at that moment that her inner Devil Child powers awakened inside her. In a voice prissier than she had ever used in her entire life, she shrieked and jumped away from him, bringing her hands against her bosom. "Unhand me, you swine!" she exclaimed, haughtily.

Her normally gorgeous brown eyes flashed completely black for a microsecond and she shook her head vigorously, looking around as if she couldn't remember where she was or what she had been doing. Looking down, there was no homeless guy there anymore, only a torn package of Cheetos with a couple of large crumbs strewn across the concrete sidewalk. Frightened, Monica shivered as a chill swept through her and the wind seemed to pick up while she hurried into the store, seeking warmth.

Scared out of her wits, Monica's first power that crops up without her even noticing at first is the passive aura of self-obsession. It manifests itself as merely severe distraction, but as Monica tries to live her normal life such as it is, the aura worsens and humans nearby are continuing to turn into total divas even when it's out of character for them.

Luckily or unluckily for the world, the demon, Illusion, just happens to find Monica within a day or so of her unlocking. In her frivolous way, she describes....(INSERT START OF RP HERE because I don't want to godmod Illusion).

Description: Truly staggering in size, Roach is easily 9 feet tall, and is only growing larger. He weighs nearly 800 pounds, mostly due to his thick exoskeleton and incredible muscle mass. The only part of Roach's body that has any hair at all are his legs and arms, which are covered with long hair-like protrusions used to sense vibrations in the air - other than this, he is completely bald. It is hard to tell due to his physiology, but he is surprisingly well taken care of - a result of both his own hygiene and the care his handlers provide. It is hard to see, but Roach possesses both ears and eyes - the ears are simply holes on the side of his head, while the eyes are small and dark, blending into his skull. He lacks lips, causing him to constantly be bearing his teeth. Luckily, he had learned to speak and eat relatively well, for a guy that doesn't have lips. While having wings may make it seem like he can fly, his massive weight makes it a struggle to even glide (Don't tell him though - he thinks he flies really good!).

Preferring the warmth of clothes, Roach successfully manage to convince his handlers to provide him with his own set. It is a simple, orange jumpsuit, similar to what a prisoner would wear - every chance he can, Roach cleans and cares for it, as it is one of his few personal possessions.

Several human-like characteristics of his include: Teeth, a Tongue, Eyes, an Endoskeleton, and a Human Brain. Other than these, however, his physiology is almost entirely that of a roach, barring a few internal organs. His voice is deep, gravely, and almost entirely inhuman. He has a problem speaking occasionally, due to the lack of lips. When very angry, he foams and saliva drips from his mouth.

Personality:
Roach is one of the sweetest, most caring creatures under the sun. He helps out anyone he can whenever they need it, and always wears a happy smile on his face. Above all, he wants people to love and respect each other, like he does.

Roach possesses a loyalty that is almost supernatural - like a puppy, he will return to the Desperado and do whatever they command. He's killed plenty of people, something he normally would never do, but he did at the command of his superiors with no qualms. He is, without a doubt, a ruthless and efficient machine when it comes to serving Desperado... Still, that doesn't stop other people from being friendly! Were someone to actually talk with and not run away screaming from him, Roach would quickly grow attached - that person will never attain a loyalty like Desperado has, but Roach would be willing to do whatever they ask. That will probably never happen, however, as most people can't stand being within a few feet of him, let alone converse and be friendly with the creature.

Roach is constantly seeking approval - he craves it more than nearly anything else. It was how he started killing, something so far out of his normal behavior. He wanted the approval of Desperado, so he killed for them. Other than that, Roach tries to do his best at everything he can in order to be praised, but the opposite is true for being reprimanded. He will go to great lengths in order to hide his failure, and while he won't directly lie to Desperado, he will avoid the topic.

Roach is very interested in the concept of heroics - he always has been, as he was raised on old cartoons that were very focused on the moral of 'doing what's right.' He does so with unnatural zeal, especially considering his brutish appearance. Since he rarely leaves the Desperado, he only really helps out around the base - it is one of his main hobbies. He even goes as far as too designate people 'Good' or 'Bad,' though this is usually dependent on how the Desperado feel about them.

Roach is extremely naive, possessing little in the way of knowledge on social situations. He was raised in the Desperado his entire life, and the only social interaction he had was with his caretakers, and talking to the small pile of his possessions. This, combined with his usually docile personality, makes him very easy to calm down or trick. He takes what people say at face value, and has never suspected a person of lying before - it's almost cute, really.

Major Abilities:
Freak of Nature: Being a disgusting abomination against the natural order, Roach is a complete anomaly. He can survive off of only slightly more than a normal human, but is far more powerful, and is as hard to kill as a cockroach. He is not the strongest Non-human, but he's pretty high up there - and he is definitely the most durable. He can run 50 mph for hours on end, with a maximum speed of 80 mph that he can sustain for 5 minutes. He can jump nearly 3 stories with a running start, and his strength is legendary. He's able to hold up things like trucks with ease, and if he pushed himself, it wouldn't be outlandish to say he could punch down small buildings. When you combine this with his claws, it is no wonder he is one of the stronger non-humans.

Unfortunately, being a hybrid of creatures who's nearest common ancestor has been extinct for millions of years, Roach possesses countless problems. He is mentally slow, being unable to read or do complex mathematics - even multiplication is a difficult concept for him to grasp. Roach is constantly growing and experiencing intense hypertrophy - he'd be lucky to make it to thirty before he either grows too large for his bones and exoskeleton to support himself, or his heart gives out (The latter being the more likely of the two). Of course, he'll probably die before then in combat, so that makes little difference to Desperado. Roach cannot feel touch, experience taste, and is slowly losing his sense of smell - though, this is of little concern to Roach, as he hardly used his sense of smell. To reach any speed higher than 50 mph, he must crawl on all limbs, leaving him vulnerable to attack. Additionally, not that it matters since he is disgusting looking, Roach is infertile.

It Won't Die:
Roach is, above all else, a survivor. He can go without food for a month and water for a week with no ill effects, can eat nearly anything, radiation has little harmful effects against him, and can take more poison than an elephant. Diseases rarely effect him, unless they are magical in origin. His Endo and Exoskeletons are nearly unbreakable, and he can survive great pressure thanks to his open circulatory system. He can live in incredibly hot temperatures with slight trouble, though cold environments are significantly less protected against. Roach heals significantly faster than a normal human, but nothing completely outlandish - wounds don't close themselves mid-combat or anything. His strongest point is his Exoskeleton - Capable of easily resisting most firearms and trauma. Most weapons slide off the grooves, and even magic is less effective against it - not because it is anti-magic in any way, but because it is so durable and hard that some magic can't pierce it or cause him damage. Your best bet is artillery and heavy weapon fire - even then, you'd be lucky to hurt him at all, let alone enough to stop him when he's angry.

While his armor seems ridiculous at first glance, it has several weaknesses. There are grooves all along his back - while it would be difficult to do so, sticking a sword or weapon in their would allow a person to tear off his armor, with enough force. Thanks to his lack of touch, doing this silently somehow would easily allow someone to kill him. Additionally, while the exoskeleton can block most blunt trauma, slow gouging would be more effective and kill him far more easily. The exoskeleton, being incredibly hard, limits Roach's range of motion severely - he cannot reach behind his back, making it an excellent blind spot and weak point to attack. Also, were he to fall on his back, he would be completely stuck. The Exoskeleton, while providing slight magical resistance, is only superficial - a force attack would obviously be weaker, but cold and non-physical assaults are just as effective.

Finally, the exoskeleton cannot repair itself normally - while cracks will repair themselves, should a large chunk fall or break off, Roach must molt and grow a new shell. The process is utterly exhausting, and will leave Roach incapacitated for a day, and severely weakened for a week after. This molting process also puts great stress on him, cutting his already low life expectancy even shorter, usually be a week or two. As such, he is very reluctant to put himself in situations of extreme danger, which an enemy could use to their advantage.

Utterly Terrifying:
The most undesirable of all of Roach's tools - his own hideous appearance. Most people are stricken with intense fear as soon as they see him, and this effect becomes even more potent when he is angry or about to kill. People with willpower of C or higher can ignore this normally, but while it is more potent, only people with a willpower of B or higher may ignore this effect.

This, like all or Roach's abilities, is passive. He can never turn it off, and as such, interacting with most people is impossible. The only people that are immune to this are his caretakers and higher ups in Desperado, as they are very familiar and interact with him often. Roach hates this ability since it alienates him from social interaction, and the only friends he has ever had were those in Desperado. Finally, Roach is not completely immune to this effect - while angry, looking at a mirror will either scare him severely, or at least cause him to pause.

Minor Abilities:
Counter Brain Washing: Desperado has ingrained such intense loyalty in Roach that it acts as a mental shield - if someone were to try and dominate him and force him to attack Desperado (or really any mental manipulation that forces him to attack Desperado), he would be far more capable of resisting control.

This only applies to actions that work directly against or harm Desperado - other than this specific area, mental effects will have a normal result. Additionally, should the mental manipulation be impossible to resist with simply willpower, the added resistance is useless.

Natural Armaments:
Roach possesses two sets of arms, both topped off with sharp claws. These claws are made of the same material as his exoskeleton, but are razor sharp. Thanks to his incredible strength and the sharpness of the blades, he can cut through a majority of materials with ease.

Roach doesn't have hands. Or fingers. Opening a door is impossible for him, and manipulating anything is beyond his power. He has to ask someone to do anything that requires dexterity, including zipping up his jumpsuit. Using a weapon other than his claws is impossible, and he cannot grab anything.

Biography/History:
Desperado - one of the most mysterious of organizations in the world, they work as contractors who take care of the supernatural threats in the world. They are also one of the only organizations to have ownership over a sentient creature in the modern world. This creature is Edward Donaldson - or as he is more commonly known, Roach.

Desperado initially sought to create a super soldier - a person that only needed half as much food, and had all their own weapons. Above all, they wanted a soldier that was totally and completely loyal and obedient. Their plan was based more technologically than magically - while magic could be easier to use, Desperado didn't want to rely on single individuals to create their soldiers. After months of testing, probing the streets for a homeless woman who was in need for some money, and a large sum of research money, it was complete. The woman was artificially impregnated with the very first of Desperado's soldiers - and not a moment too soon. Perhaps it was a higher power punishing the organization for stepping out of their domain, or maybe it was blind luck. Either way, the research facility was burned to the ground - the only survivors being a researcher and the pregnant woman. The research that had taken so long to come to fruition was lost - only one soldier had come from the program.

The mother survived the procedure - Roach had to be surgically removed, as he was too hard and large to be birthed normally. With a nasty scar and a few hundred thousand dollars of hush money, the woman left - Roach never even knew her existence. The young soldier developed very quickly - physically, at least. By 6 years old, he had finally learned English well enough to communicate - he had killed a dozen men, all of whom were relatively weak grunts working for various crime lords. His very first mission was at the age of 8 - he was to kill a young vampire who had been killing too many humans in the outskirts of Lucca. Apparently, no other supernatural beasts had that area as a territory, and the vampire was getting cocky.

It was a massacre. By the time Roach was picked up, the vampire was torn to shreds. The vampire had been shocked when it saw Roach's appearance, and before it could react, Roach was able to kill him with a swift strike of his claws. The next 4 years were... long, to say the least. If he wasn't training or out on a mission, Roach would be helping out around the base or watching one of the films his caretakers provided for him. Roach had been allowed to leave several times, but he was always either in a car with tinted windows, or was dressed up in a costume. Now, with the birth of the Children of the Devil, Desperado is preparing themselves - whether it is to protect themselves from the WDL, to provide them support, or even to search for the children themselves, Roach had no clue. Whatever it was, though, Roach planned on helping the people who had given him life, in anyway he could.

Every scar has a story, though, and the story behind this one is that Strife Firegaze was beset by a knife wielding man, who he had an incredible fight with. In reality, that man… was himself, carving a ‘sick new tattoo’ for himself, so he'd look cooler.

Personality: People often describe Strife Firegaze as an eccentric and bombastic fellow – this is completely true, for Strife Firegaze is one strange fella indeed, who believes in all sorts of things that others may not – the main thing is that he believes his amulet and giant sword have magical powers, and that his amulet can speak to him. Not only that, but he often refers to himself by his full name, Strife Firegaze… or if you’re not lucky, he’ll address himself as ‘Strife Firegaze, Caller of the Verdant Flame, and Wielder of the Omega Cleaver of the Fates!’. He believes he’s an enigmatic, fearsome hero respected across the world. Not only that, but he thinks he’s really, really cool.

In battle, the thing someone’s going to notice about Strife is his attacks… in that he’s named many of his attacks with special, bombastic names, and he’s very, very prone to calling them out when he uses them. Aside from that, he’s a bit of a trash-talker, who’ll rub in his greatness to his foes. Notably, he puts his foes down less than he promotes himself…
Strife considers himself a ‘wandering hero, a free spirit!’ and often roams the world in search of interesting things. Occasionally, he’ll help out with tasks people ask of him. He’s taken a fair few cats out of trees. He’s prone to challenging people he comes across.

Unfortunately for the mighty Strife Firegaze, it’s pretty apt to call him stupid. It truly takes someone talented to blow themselves up with their own ability, though if asked, he’ll just say that he did it on purpose, or that he was only using a small percentage of his real power.

+ “Come forth… VERDANT FLAMES OF THE BEYOND, TO ME!”/Radiant Enchantment of Green Flames: Strife enchants his blade, the Omega Cleaver of the Fates, with green flames that dance along it. These green flames aren’t too different from regular flames, but they are green. Strife believes he needs his amulet to use this power, and whenever he uses it, he also thinks he needs to shout out and ask for its power. However… is this power granted by the amulet, or is it an innate ability of Strife’s…?

~ Notable Techniques ~

Strife has many ‘techniques’, each of which have their own names, though most of them are regular old sword techniques given fancy names. The following moves are unique, in that these very specific techniques have more unusual effects.

+ Big Bang Blast: One of Strife Firegaze’s Radiant Techniques. Big Bang Blast involves Strife conjuring a ball out of solid, transparent green energy, in which green flames dance about. This energy bomb will detonate after ten seconds, or if it is launched into something forcefully. Upon explosion, green flames will be released in a blast of energy, which may just knock things about. Strife’s prone to calling this out, then forgetting it’s there and blowing himself up. What a klutz!
“Catch this! Big Bang Blast!”

+ Rapture Impact: A fairly simple technique that can be used, even without his verdant flames. Putting all of his energy into a sword smash, Strife smashes the foe with the Omega Cleaver of the Fates forcefully, knocking them back a fair distance. If verdant flames are active, then this also creates a weak fire explosion.
“You'd be a fool to stand against me...! Rapture Impaaact!”

+ Emerald Flame Chaser: For this technique, Strife brings down his sword onto the ground forcefully, which causes a wave of green flames to rush out of the ground in whatever direction he is facing. These flames are decently quick, but it’s nothing someone couldn’t dodge.
“You can't run - and you can't hide, pal! Emeraaaald... Flame Chaseeeeer!”

+ Aerial Crashing Destruction: Strife tosses his sword high up into the air, which spins all the while, collecting more and more emerald flame as it flies up. Strife leaps up and grabs it, then attempts to bring it down onto his foe. If Strife’s unlucky, he might miss the sword. If he’s really unlucky, the sword will hit him.
“This'll be your judgement! Let me ABOLISH you! Aerial... CRASHING DESTRUCTION!”

+ ‘End of the World’: Strife’s ‘ultimate move’, as he calls it, as he still believes his sword is capable of ending the world. He’s never used it before, but he threatens people with it as a form of intimidation. Of course, this is just a faux, for he can’t use this move.
“You’ve got guts, taking me on! I could end the world right here, what with my Omega Cleaver of the Fates and all.”

- Enhanced Physical Attributes: Strife is able to take a fair few hits, and lug around his heavy sword that most would struggle to hold. Most notably, he can jump pretty high, which he uses in his Aerial Crashing Destruction move.

Biography/History: The man called Strife Firegaze is, unsurprisingly, not really called Strife Firegaze. In reality, he’s an amnesiac who knows very, very little about himself. The fellow we currently know as Strife Firegaze awoke in a cave system, alongside two objects. A large emerald blade, which was adorned with glyphs that ran along its blade, and an emerald amulet. Seeing no reason not to, the nameless man took up these items – and found himself able to utilize a curious power – that being the manipulation of emerald flames, though he couldn’t manage much else than to enchant his blade with these flames. Strife felt like these two objects held untapped power, but it was merely a thought.

After days of wandering, Strife found the exit to the cave system, only to emerge in a desert. He continued wandering, searching for any sign of relief, for he grew hungry, thirsty, and tired. Yet none came. He passed out, and had strange dreams… which he dubbed visions. Names aside, these ‘visions’ would shape his life from that day forward.

‘Man with no name… I see you have taken up my ancient sword. The very sword that destroyed the universe a millenia ago – the Omega Cleaver of the Fates. Not only that, but… I notice that you hold my amulet, too. The Supreme Amulet of Ultimate Power… impressive, boy. I can tell you will be a worthy heir for the green flames. Take my blade… and follow your fate. And if that fate seems undesirable, then you hold the very weapon to cleave that fate into two. Farewell, nameless fellow…’

The dream was just that – a mere dream, though a strange and rather childish one for sure. However, the man believed this fully, for he saw it as a vision. He dubbed his sword the Omega Cleaver of the Fates, and the amulet the Supreme Amulet of Ultimate Power, and believed in the powers he believed they held.

When the nameless man awoke, he was in the care of a small village, on the outskirts of the desert he had been wandering. The inhabitants of the village had nursed him to health and even kept his equipment safe for him in a show of kindness. However, one boy asked the nameless wanderer’s name… to which he said he had no name.

“No name or past, eh? You sound like some hero from a book or game, especially with that sword and amulet! You have any special powers?” He asked, to which the nameless man nodded – and then pressed down on his amulet, and called upon a single emerald flame within his hand.

“Oh, oh! That’s so cool! I’ll call you… Strife Firegaze!” He chirped. “That's a cool name, right? I only just came up with it.”
A name - the man with no name didn't know what to think about it, considering it somewhat lame and needlessly bombastic, but... it was a name. It provided identity to the man without any. Strife Firegaze mingled about in the village for a few days after his awakening, though eventually… he left the village, in search of adventure and exploration of a world largely unknown to him. It was full of all sorts of wonders he’d never seen before in his lifetime – though he wondered if he’d seen them in his past life, whatever it may be. And speaking of his past life, Strife tried his best to get any leads on who he was, but no matter who he asked, nobody seemed to know. Strife felt as if he were drowning in a pool of uncertainty… and it well and truly hurt him. What was the past he was leaving behind? For years, he searched for it, but each attempt ended the same way. And eventually… Strife Firegaze gave up, and became intent on making his new past… his new past as the Caller of the Verdant Flames of Beyond, Wielder of the Omega Cleaver of the Fates! He got into all sorts of fights, where he’d unleash all sorts of strange techniques he’d named – for instance, the Big Bang Blast, a ball of explosive energy, which would erupt into a burst of green flame.

He became known for this, and his… eccentric personality, what with his talks of his ‘divine power, given to him by the gods themselves!’, and similar things. He was very often underestimated, but a fair few people eventually realized… he was as dangerous a warrior as he was strange. Eccentric or not, the man was a tough fella with a big, big sword that pulsed with green flame… however, his hubris managed to be his downfall. He’d been defeated a fair few times, all due to boasting, overconfidence, or a mixture of both.

When he heard of the End of the World, he ‘knew’ the reason for it, which he claimed was the power of the Omega Cleaver of the Fates. When the End of the World happened, and the world wasn’t raptured by all manner of strange happenings, Strife was more than a little disappointed, for he wanted to see the ‘true power’ he claimed the Omega Cleaver of the Fates held. However, when he heard of the Seven Children, he grinned. Believing that the false god they sought to fight was within his amulet, he cracked his knuckles and spoke one thing.

“Well, this certainly sounds like quite the blast! I’ve never fought children before, so it’s time to give them a little discipline! Get ready, you insolent infants – Strife Firegaze, Caller of the Verdant Flame, and Wielder of the Omega Cleaver of the Fates is here to kick your asses!”

Personality:
I. Constantly aloof and unperceptive, James feels like he’s walking through a fog every day. He feels like nothing is real and that he’s a pawn in somebody else’s game. He wants nothing more than to feel free and to see the world for what it really is. He’s also afraid of what he might find, and of leaving the comfort of his family, and the comfort of the city, to see what the world has to offer, and what he might take.

James for reasons beyond him feels alienated by his friends, family and peers. He feels like he doesn’t really know them, and that he doesn’t belong amongst them. He greatly desires to meet people that he can truly befriend and create close bonds with. James is the type of person who cares deeply about those close to him and would go to the absolute ends of the earths for them. The only thing that would prevent him from wanting to form said bonds is the fear that he may someday lose the people that he grows close to, just like how he lost his family.

James suffers from a terrible depression which he hides very effectively. It came suddenly and struck hard, a grief so terrible that he almost gave up all hope on life. James, however, found peace in meditation. Despite the rest of his family being devout Protestants, James is not religious in that sense at all, and takes a more eastern stance on spirituality, believing that deep meditation can cure him of emotional ailments. Instead of curing him of his depression however, meditation did something else for him. Though he chose to ignore it, it made him aware.

Biography/History: James is living his perfect life. Born into a wealthy family in New York City, his father works on Wall Street and his mother is a trophy wife. His younger sister is very intelligent and well on her way to following in her father’s footsteps. James is in his last year of high school and ready to start college. He’s confused. Ridden with and immense and depressive invisible grief that drags him to the depths of apathy. Everything is like a dream to him, nothing seems real, it’s like the world is a mere illusionary soupy mist. At this point he doesn’t even feel like he knows his own family, despite living with them for his entire life. Something churns.

For the most part, James spends his time wandering around New York, exploring the tunnels, looking for the forgotten crevices of the city, searching. There he spends his time journaling, writing down his thoughts, or reading. Sometimes he sneaks out and wanders the streets at night, pondering an uncertain future. He follows obscure media sources on events and politics anywhere from a local to a global scale, and dedicates some time to researching different topics on the internet on mostly unknown forums, searching, but not knowing what he’s searching for, or understanding why he searches in the first place. Due to his nocturnal habits he rarely gets much sleep. Sleep which never felt right to him in the first place. That’s just how it’s always been for him.
