The Evidence Locker:

Your Police Badge: This is the proof that shows that you're an officer. If people think that you're an impostor, show this to them to prove your worth.
Homemade Remote: A homemade remote was found nearby a dumpster, possibly thrown by Shaun. It has a small button on the front that could be hidden in case he fell under any suspicion. Some prints have been found on it that belong to Shaun Crosby.
Bloody Trail: A small trail of blood lines the streets, belonging to Shaun Crosby. It's especially large at the top, where he was caught and arrested.
Bomb Shards: Tiny fragments of green paint were found on the bomb shards that littered the crime scene, while Nathan commented on how loud the bomb must have been for its caliber.
Henry Crosby's Body: Henry's body was found in bits and pieces, his right leg being blown off and parts of his body and various bits of his flesh lying across the center of the park. Nothing of importance was found on the body during the autopsy, but if the killer was nearby, they should be suffering from partial deafness. Not even Nathan was able to track down what type of bomb it was.
Greene's Documents: A set of documents show that Greene was making some rather high offers to buy the market out, but it looks like Henry and Shaun had disagreed on selling their stall.
Orthopedic Footprints: Since the victim wasn't wearing orthopedic shoes, which were used for people with leg problems, these footprints leaving the crime scene must belong to someone who does.
Written Threat: A notable threat has been written on a scrap of paper with single sided tape on it, reading "Leave Eastfield Market alone, you greedy scum, or I will blow you all up." It was found under a counter at the Eastfield Market and has been proven to have been written by Shaun Crosby.
Strange Photograph: Alfred gave the team a black and white photograph, telling them that he got it from Henry, who told him that it contained a ghost from the war before walking away. Two men are in this photo, one of them being a younger version of Henry and the other being an unknown man in his 40's. There's a small date written on the lower right hand corner of the photo that reads "01/19/1975".
Second Bomb: A second bomb was nearly detonated inside the trunk of a red car by Greene Banking, but it spat out an ERROR just before it was supposed to detonate. It was found inside of Scott Greene's car.

Forensic's Goals:
Get a copy of the Eastfield Market documents ready for Rachel.
Get the second bomb searched for any evidence.

05/22/2018: 9:00 AM

As the sun shone on a brand-new day, the members of the Grimsborough Homicide Department were most likely just heading to work after their promotion or already at the station, as the Police Department was now centered directly in the middle of the Financial District, the hub of the city's economical district, where flashy lights and glass windows reigned king. Their promotion was quick, as the order was intercepted by Chief King from the highest man in the city, Mayor Howard Johnson, who wanted to commend them on their incredible agility and ability to capture Tony Marconi alive. As Tony rotted in prison, the clock ticked to 8:55 AM at the station, Chief King having called everyone down to the his office in order to inform them about several important people in the district and a case that had erupted within the stock market.

Detective David Jones was one of the first to enter this hallowed chief's headquarters, having just pulled a very early morning shift at the station starting at 5 AM in order to save face and obtain some extra hours. The Chief was already standing at his mahogany desk, where a telephone sat upon it with numbers of various top dogs in the city, some of which he didn't even recognize. A large window stood behind Chief King's desk and beside his collection of old case novels, while a TV stood upon the wall that was occasionally used to intercept important video-based messages. Nevertheless, the Chief was in his usual mood despite the team's promotion, with a apathetic look in his eyes that brimmed with seriousness. Jones took one of the faux leather chairs in the room and sat upon it, waiting for the others to arrive.

He remembered that time when Tony was sent to prison, after his motive was properly revealed. That long laugh, followed by the mobster pulling a gun on him and his fellow officers was a last-ditch effort to save his own skin, but Jones was able to tackle Tony and bring him down. It was a shame that he never fired off a shot, as he would have received a life sentence for sure. If it wasn't obvious enough, Jones had a bit of a grudge against the boss for teasing him all of the time about how he wasn't going to be captured, but he was now securely behind bars. King had yet to begin speaking, watching the clock as the seconds ticked by until 9:05 AM arrived.

A man entered the Chief's office, dressed in a typical casual dress-shirt and a tie. Looking at him with a...dull expression, to say the least. "Hm. What is the matter, Chief? I do believe I heard that there had been a homicide. May you give me the details on it, perhaps?" He sat down in one of the chairs, making sure to give a very polite look. Despite his age and his personality, he looked comparable to that of a 20-year old man, his attire being a bit loose compared to the rest of the older homicide detectives on the force. "Thinking about it...could it be that casino murder that I heard about over dispatch?"

Chief King was a busy fellow, but he glanced up from his desk and looked over at David, addressing the other detective as Jones in order to prevent any mistakes. He glanced at the clock before deciding that giving out some information before the briefing wouldn't be so terrible. "As a matter of fact, you're mostly correct. I would have expected some dignity from this part of town, but I'm afraid to state that the grisly crime that's occurred at the stock market is quite a grievous one. Although we're free from the organized crime of the Industrial District, this posh district is rampant with murders, mostly stemming from people's financial greed." As a matter of fact, this district was actually the second most dangerous district, if King didn't count the constant amount of times that they were called down to the University to clean up whatever mess the students left behind after going mad with alcohol. He sighed, before asking Jones, "Have you checked with Ramirez about Tony's files? I want to make sure that there's no loopholes left for the man."

Jones immediately replied in a sound tone, sure of what he was about to say. "The odds of Tony breaking out of prison or abusing some loophole are about as slim as Salvador crawling out of his grave, sir," Jones informed King. "I've checked with Ramirez and although he has the chance to appeal to a higher court, I wouldn't count on it. We've recorded his confession from court and we've pocketed all of the evidence that he had on him into the evidence locker." King seemed fairly pleased with it and gave Jones a commendation, just as the clock ticked forward by another minute.

"Alright, thank you. Chief, send whatever you have on the case so far to me. I'll be at the scene by then, even though the bus may be a bit late," he'd say in a semi joking tone. "In all seriousness though, I need to go and get to the scene. I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors, as I can tell that you're a extremely busy person. C'mon, Jones. We need to hurry up and get to the crime scene, valuable evidence could be wasting away as we speak." He'd say, dragging Jones towards the door and giving the Chief a few more minutes to say anything before they left. Despite this, though, it was clear that Charles was in a eerie hurry. Then again, he seemed to be awfully sensitive about this district in particular. Almost as if there was something more to his knowledge that you couldn't quite tell, something..."Anyways, anything before I leave?" Jones could easily see that the burning passion in his eyes had returned, the once dull expression on the older investigator's face having been refreshed with a new sense of life to it.

Chief Samuel King sighed as he watched Jones get dragged out of the door by Charles, who seemed very intent on solving the case with that newfound fire in his eyes, even though Jones wasn't looking at him as Chief called out to them. "Fine, I'll page the information over to you once you're on the bus," he called out, turning back to his usual pager, which was connected to the black walkie talkies that the detectives had on them. All of the coroners and analysts used it for sending information about certain pieces of evidence over to the detectives, but he used it on occasion if he had something dire or important to tell them. He still spoke into the pager, speaking out an important message. "You won't need to report to the briefing room for today, but you must head to the crime scene at once. It's at Greene's Stock Market, down at 60 Main Street. I'm sure I won't need to repeat this information, but as usual protocol states, you'll need to secure the crime scene, find the body and search around for any leads," he spoke into the pager before disconnecting it, before reclining into his black leather seat for those few fleeting moments of safety and silence.

Objective #1: Attend King's Meeting: Complete!
New Objective #2: Get to the Stock Market, whether it's through a bus, a train, a taxi or a car.

Jones was still being dragged across the police department as he waved Office Ramirez goodbye, the junior officer giving a smirk before he walked out the back of the room, most likely headed to the garage in case he needed to bring a cadaver or some evidence back to the station from the crime scene. Since he knew that Charles had a "fear" of driving, as Jones would sometimes put it, he decided that taking the bus wouldn't hurt, even if they would be a few minutes late and his lunch money would take a hit.

He stepped onto the bus, laying his head back as he prepped for the likely grizzly scene that he expected to see. He had always been the type to hope for the best, but to expect the worst at the same time. Once he reached there, he hopped out and went to the stock market. “Alright, I’m here. You can all go and take a break except for the beat-cop, I have a question or two for them," he announced to Jones, before turning his attention to Ramirez and trying to find him.

Ramirez tilted his head up from the hood of his car as he got out, scampering over to Officer Charles before he addressed himself, "Officer Eduardo Ramirez, reporting for duty!" Now that his welcomes were out of the way, he passed an important keycard to Charles, fishing it out of his pocket. "It's a good thing you didn't try to open that door, Charles. You'll need one of these keycards to open the thing, all of the stock traders need one since the security in this city is air-tight," he replied as he passed it to Charles, the irony being apparent as a stock trader was murdered right from within this "safe" building. Jones was also out of the bus and had tried to opened the revolving door himself, but it simply denied his access and politely asked for a Class 1 key card, before he took one from Ramirez. "Sorry that I couldn't you get a Class 2 one, but those are only for the executives of this company and we're still getting the paperwork filled out on that," Ramirez stammered as he put the cards away, inserting them into the pocket of his black pants. With that in mind, it looks like it was time to fulfill King's orders before the body became contaminated.

Objective #2: "Get to the Stock Market, whether it's through a bus, a train, a taxi or a car." is now complete!
Objective 3A Added: Find the victim’s body at the stock market and send it off to the coroner.

He entered the building using the key-card, unlocking the entrance with it and entering. looking around the area, the man seemed to be almost...analyzing the faculty, looking behind pillars and the like for anything out of place before going to the actual body. It was a strange tactic that he used, but it was abnormally effective in finding things that others could perhaps have missed. He then walked over to where he saw it most likely to contain the body. "Hmm.." Looking around the area, he tried to locate the corpse and anything around it, if there was such a location. "Hey, mind securing the crime scene? Get any suspects or people that were nearby rounded up, if you could. Question, by the way. Does that mean only those with Class 1 and 2 Key-cards can get into and out of the Stock Market? Or is there alternative entry-ways, perhaps?"

As Charles looked around the stock market, he would notice the vast complexity of the stock market, as the small entrance way opened into a large glass building surrounded by pillars of concrete and marble. Several fancy stock machines outlined the center of the palace, with each one flickering through colors of green and red. Potted plants and expensive scenic architecture lined the walls, as even the benches carried an air of fancifulness to them. A glittering glass elevator stood behind a fountain, a symbol of the future and of some potential executive activity which might lurking up above. Glass hallways mirrored the left and right side of the technical masterpiece, each one leading to a different business owned by this "Greene" fellow.

Most importantly, Charles had already taken notice of the victim, who had been struck down within the center of the room, his tongue hanging outside of his mouth in a lopsided manner that tainted his face and his arms raised up into the air as he hung from a stock machine, fibrous ropes being strung around his pale wrists as they were tied to the top of the stock machine. One might also notice the intense amount of blood on the floor, mixed in with his entrails, as a large cut was slashed through his body, his innards forced out upon the fancy marble flooring, a juxtaposition of fanciful life and bloodstained death. A light minty smell wafted up from him, possibly from some sweet gum that he might have been chewing prior to his death.

Fortunately, most of his organs were still intact, but Jones, calm as ever (this meant that he wasn't calm in the slightest), took note of a key card tossed upon the floor, which he picked up and looked at, seeing a familiar face gazing back at him...the face of the victim, whom Jones could now officially call "Samuel Rye", as his key card displayed his name, his Class 1 status and his Stock Trader ID, which was a string of 10 digits that were publicly displayed in black print. Inserting it in a plastic bag that he had on him for evidence storage, he set it within his pocket as he approached the body, seeing that Charles was already questioning Ramirez.

"I'll be right on it with those people...and the key-cards? You'd be quite right to suspect that, the only people who could've entered or exited this stock market would be people with a key-card! It's only for the stock market, though, the branching casino and hospital are open to the public," Ramirez nodded, recording the state of the victim within his book. "I've done a quick perimeter check and since none of the shatter-proof glass was destroyed, you can bet your life that the only way to get in would be a key-card!" While Ramirez went off to secure the area with some yellow police tape and his trusty megaphone, he gave Charles a reminder to let him know when he was done with the body. "Nathan wouldn't want the body to be a pile of rot when it gets to him!" That was another one of Nathan's quotes, the fresher, the better. However, if Charles was exceptionally perceptive, he might happen to notice a small brown wallet by the victim, one which may have fell out of his pocket after he was strung up like a puppet.

He picked up the wallet and gave it a brief examination, taking its contents out and checking over what was in there. "Hmmm...what in the world could this be?", emptying the contents to briefly inspect them, he placed it back downwards on where he had originally found it. "You can take the body, by the way. Whatever I could inspect would be noted in the official report anyways. Make sure that the guy doesn't have any signs of a struggle, or anything like booze going through his system. You know, the procedures and all. Besides that though, you can pretty much just have the body sent off for inspection. I need to do another search around here anyways, hopefully to find whatever I can. The case isn't looking too good already, in both a metaphorical sense and in a literal one. So, I better hope that first impressions don't mean that things are gonna just get worse from here on else, or I'm in for quite the ride today. Especially considering the clearness that this was a white collar crime, and not some pity street murder."

As Charles searched through the wallet, Ramirez would cut the body down from the stock machines after snapping a few quick photos of it from some angles and taking the body into a bag, at which point he would drag it off to be searched. Jones would quickly catch up with Ramirez, passing him the ID Card of Samuel Rye and asking him if he could search it for prints. Ramirez obliged and took the items away, leaving Jones to watch Charles look through the wallet.

As he would do so, he would find a few dollar bills, Samuel's driver's license and finally, a Purple Chip, labeled for the Greene Casino in crisp, yellow print. "Hey, that's one of those high roller chips," Jones noted, tilting the chip around in his hand and tossing it up in the air to test its authenticity. "You don't really see a lot of these in the casino and for me...one of these would cost me an entire week of my salary." He let a small groan, as even though his pay wasn't too bad, it could certainly use a bit of improvement.

This most likely noted that Jones gambled once in a while, but he did get a peculiar idea from looking at the chip. "If our victim really was a gambler, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to take a look around the casino and see what we can find, unless you have more leads you'd like to check out here." He motioned towards the glass hallway on their left, which didn't require a key-card as they were exiting the stock market and not entering it, but would certainly require one if they were entering the market.

He nodded. "We shouldn't just stand around and wait. Plus, if there are things that could be classified as evidence. We should hurry, especially if the casino is still currently active. It could risk vital evidence being completely and utterly destroyed if we do not hurry as soon as physically possible. But, I digress." He'd take a turn towards jones, taking a glance at him and walking alongside him. "Let's hurry up, maybe we could find a murder weapon in the casino. If it's not outside, it's highly likely to be either there or on the killer. I can't be quite too sure however on if we will actually find anything however... Hm.. I suppose we will have to take our chances, I don't really believe that we have anywhere else to go at this current moment. Anyways, I do believe that the majority of this is spread out throughout the faculty. It is quite easy to deduce that this was premeditated, to some extent. So we should also investigate where the materials used to kill the victim came from, perhaps.

Jones suddenly took note of the lack of a murder weapon, having not noticed that before and recording it in his notebook as they stepped through the glass hallway, Ramirez carefully pushing the body through the revolving door as they stepped through some automatic doors. The glass hallway was in the shape of a horizontal cylinder, with the first part of the hallway being similar to a tunnel that you’d go through after exiting an airplane, before the team took a set of stairs in order to reach the main part of the hallway, which opened into a cylindrical spiral of glass panels, where the team could see the other denizens of the district scattering about underneath them.

As they walked through the hallway, Jones turned to Charles, deciding to ask him about the case itself. “Now, here’s an idea that I got when I was looking over the keycard, as I think the killer intended on stealing the victim’s key-card before they used it to enter the stock market,” Jones commented as they walked down the metal flooring. “That’s proof enough that it’s pre-meditated, for sure. As for the chip, I don’t get why stock traders are so addicted to gambling. They play around with their money all day for work and then play around with money all night for fun, wouldn’t you agree? Plus, I did notice something on his body when we passed by him. As far as I know…” he would pause, pulling up one of the pictures on his phone, “I didn’t see any damage on his head, neither did I see any signs of a scuffle on his fists. I suspect that the killer probably took him off-guard when he tried to kill him or injected him with something.” Time and the autopsy would tell if Jones was actually correct in his deductions, as Jones looked out of the tunnel and upon the traffic of the street directly below him.

"Eh, pretty likely. considering everything, it's a miracle noone caught the killer in the act. So it's likely that they were a stock broker too, or at least someone with level 2 key-card access. I can't be quite too sure yet on all of the details, but it is quite obvious that this was A: Premeditated and B: Committed by either a stock broker, or someone with a class 2 key-card. This puts the executives into some level of suspicion, although I can't make a formal indication quite yet. I need a lot more evidence, especially if the person is a higher-up like I do fear. Perhaps not however, this could very easily just be a trade gone wrong. Legal type of trade or illegal type of trade doesn't really matter at this current moment, but we do need to establish a motive." He'd look down at the traffic too. "It's been ages since I've been in such a district. I've worked most of my life down in the slums and in the country, really. So it's a bit of culture shock to be back here, especially in one of His buildings.. Grah. "

As Charles finished his theory, the glass walls faded away until they were replaced by that same concealing wall, with some faint noises audible in the distance as Jones pulled out his own key-card, just before he pushed on another glass door and it gave away, letting them enter the Greene Casino, which had high ceilings, patterned floors and flashy walls checkered with red and yellow paint. Although the Stock Market focused on looking professional, the casino was exuberantly designed with a large oval window on the back, two floors of slot machines on Jones' left and a fancy red carpet decked out with a yellow woven Fleur De Lis. Making his way through the blaring noises of the slots, Jones looked around and saw a young woman who couldn't be older than age of 30, who was minding her own business as she miserably sorted out some chips within a chip collecting tray behind a desk.

"Hey, partner, do you want to get to work on questioning the woman or look around these table games for a lead? I'll cover whatever you're not taking," Jones inquired, as he stayed out of earshot of the lady, who was wearing a uniform consisting of a red tie and a white shirt underneath a beige button-up suit which displayed the Greene Casino logo on her right breast. Her black hair was fastened into a ponytail that curtained over her left shoulder and she had applied some lipstick, with Jones not knowing if that was part of the uniform or not. The casino had already been emptied for some strange reason, possibly because of the crime that had just occurred in the stock market and the players had long since abandoned the table games, some balls and chips still lying astray across the Venetian carpet.

"I'll go and talk to the girl, I've always had a easy time with extracting information from witnesses and catching them in lies. In the meanwhile however, mind grabbing some security footage? I doubt this place doesn't have cameras, so it should be pretty easy to get the authorization to get whatever security footage that's left from here. Anyways, I'll go and talk to the girl." He'd begin to walk off, starting to go towards her with a quick pacing. "Hello, there. I assume you have some information on what is currently going on at the moment, regarding the death at the stock market and all?" ... Charles definitely cut straight to the point, he didn't make any small talk or anything. just flat out walked up to her and asked it, it was something that could be classified as both a strength and a weakness at the same time. he had no subtly in the slightest, and that had become a big problem at times. Despite this however, he calmly and politely waited for a response from her, not wanting to get a harassment charge pressed against him.

The woman would glance up from her machine before turning to Charles, noting his presence before answering his question since he didn't seem to be harassing her. "Oh, him? I was the one who called the police when I found the body in the stock market. My job involves cleaning the casino hallway, after all. I can't say too much, but I didn't hear anything through the night since I was on the other end of the hallway and I only take care of sweeping the halls during the afternoon." She said that last line with a bit of disgust in her voice, as if they left more than just their spilled drinks and vomit behind in the hallway.

While she said that, Jones was already hard at work on disabling the camera system from the top of the casino, but the woman, who was already writing her name down on a slip of paper as "Kate Murphy", interjected as Jones was about to remove the footage. "Hey! You'll need a pass for that from Alden Greene or my boss, Brooke Chase." Jones seemed startled and nearly fell over, but went on to ask, "Do you need who I can contact for that information, ma'am?", even though he would have kept on taking the footage out if it was just some random person's shop. "Greene's typically on his lunch break, so you'll need to wait for him to leave his office to contact him and my boss is off on some vacation in Cuba," Kate Murphy replied, as she passed the torn slip over to Charles, telling him to call for her name if he ever needed any information.

Although Jones took Kate Murphy's sudden interjection as a bit odd and suspicious, he understood that it was within her rights to demand a warrant, so he carefully made his way down the ladder and went to the table games to continue his search, coming across something else, a small slip of white paper folded upon a roulette table. Looking at it in more detail, it would read "Samuel, how could you leave me after ALL we've been through?" Jones hummed as he picked the slip of paper up and approached Charles, uncoiling the white notepad sheet from his hand for all to see.

You could tell that there was something...odd about him when he saw that message, almost as if it reminded him of something. However, he quickly shrugged it off and went back to questioning her. "Anyways, could you give us your testimonial on what you witnessed? We will need it for future reference, of course. Can't have any evidence or facts slipping by us, especially those that could be vital to the case. You're our only witness at the moment, so...please, give us whatever you can. If you do not wish to however, that is perfectly fine. You have no need to actually give us a account," He still said in a calm voice. He was not really hesitating in any of his speech, but it was clear that he wasn't the type to really force anything either from anybody. It was almost as if he may had actually cared about the suspects. With someone who's been a detective for so long though, you couldn't really be sure with him, he would have some days where he was a complete and utter dick, and others where he was the nicest guy in the whole department.

Jones decided to give her a chance as she continued to speak, noting the paper and trying to think if whether or not she would be caught for the note before continuing on with her account like nothing had happened. "The...only thing I did was serve some drinks that night and take care of some unruly customers. It's the typical sort of thing that I would do and I had to suffer through it through most of the night, mind you." Seeing that Kate wasn't going to tell the truth, Jones took the chance to [present] the note to the worker, unfurling it and putting it onto the counter for her. "Listen up, we found this note on the roulette table. Would you care to tell us who wrote this note, Kate, before I accuse you of writing it?" Kate grit her teeth, before telling Jones that she had absolutely no idea who wrote it and there's no proof that she did. "If that's how you're going to play it, then why don't you unfurl that name you just wrote for us, Kate? We'll have just the proof we need to catch you in a lie after a quick handwriting analysis."

Kate Murphy eventually made a long pause, before sighing and telling the officers her story. "Samuel and I used to be lovers, we met at the casino when he made a large bet and won. I had never been so in love, but when he started to work at the stock market, he began to have a new lover, money. I can't believe it, but he became more and more attached..." she paused to slam her fist down onto the table, sending a few chips wobbling for a moment. "Then he left me, saying that he didn't see any value in our relationship. As far as I can tell, stock traders are just a bunch of psychopaths in nice suits! Then he started waltzing around with his new friend, some guy by the name of Harry Krane and pretended that he doesn't even know me!" She then tilted her head up by just a few degrees, looking at the officers with a look of pity and defeat.

Jackson rests his back on a pillar decoration near the officers, monologue-ing out loud. "A lover's quarrel. The most unpredictable thing. I can emphasize a bit, as when my wife was alive, we too were madly in love. But like everything that seems impossibly perfect, it always ends, one way or another." He approaches the young lady with a hand in his pocket. "But for now, you have to be strong, miss. If you can cooperate more with us, we can find Samuel's killer. You can help justice. You can help us." And with that, he whips out his detective badge from his coat. "I'm Detective James Jackson. But just call me Jackson."

He pulls up a tall seat from a nearby empty blackjack table, sitting in it from behind. "Now, let me ask you a couple of questions. First off, do you know if Samuel has any enemies or whatnot? Anybody in general that would hate him or possibly in any way want him dead?"
Jackson gazes at the woman with attentive eyes through his sunglasses.
