Wherever it is, it has to be quiet - an even temperature, no major noise and people can't walk behind or around me. I have a thing about people looking over my shoulder at the computer as my parents did it as some form of torture when I was a child/growing up, and now I have a complex.

Ironically most of my creative process seems to flow when I'm away from the keyboard. Exercising/on my walks. Music sometimes inspires me to write something as well. But I don't really think I couldn't write any better at my parents house vs my own apartment, long as a computer is in my hands. Some animal or person will likely be along to distract me anyway.

OMG...I hate that! And that is the exact situation I'm in while living at home as a HS student :/ It's like "Hey, I noticed your door was closed and headphones were on so no doubt you wanted to be uninterrupted, but just figured I'd come in and stare at your screen for awhile b/c I have nothing better to do..."

Same here. I'm really paranoid in regards to my family members nosing into what I'm doing, whether it be a phone call or me just on my computer. I have a lot of trust issues from growing up, and it still bothers me to this day.

Could be worse, though. During my childhood, I couldn't log onto my computer at all without having my parents enter another password in before I could enter mine. Plus, anything I could do was watched by my then stepfather through his own PC, and he could remotely take control of my PC and do what he wanted with it even if I was using it at the time.

omg...yeah, that does suck :/

Well mine are paranoid about apps such as Snapchat and the like, so I am not even allowed to have those on my phone (actually HAVING a phone is a whole other sad story, lol).

Anyway, don't wanna go off topic from my own thread, lol.

Another more recent "Writing Sanctuary" I've started using was actually this indy coffee shop nearby, where aside from it smelling absolutely divine, the atmosphere has a kind of "Old World" feel to it that gets me in the writing mood.
