@Danelaw I get it’s still early days but when were you thinking of getting things started roughly?


As in when will we begin posting? or when will it start in terms of the timeline?

For the former, we will get to work on characters and such in the next day or so, and posting will begin whenever the primary character roles have been sufficiently filled (could be 2 days, could be a week.)

For the latter, it depends on the kingdom we decide on, but it will be some time between Ned Stark becoming hand of the king and dying.

@Danelaw I understand. They were just some wild ideas.

Fight of flight type of scenario is what you're aiming for, if I understood correctly. I always strived for neutrality or on the line in my RPs/character ideologies, that's why I was thinking of something neutral.

If I'm not mistaken, this will be basically a slice-of-life RP in GoT universe with a few twists. Correct?

For a character, I would probably go towards a not-so-lady-like Lady, meaning she learned to fight (no, I'm not thinking Arya) with a sword and is interested in fighting more than being a lady-in-waiting. Does that sound ok for you? I can think of something different if needed.

@Danelaw I’m thinking a Robin Hood type of character if that’d be acceptable. Although obviously a bit darker to fit the GoT universe.

I think we will go with Riverlands culture. A loyal, old family that values hard-work and patience. Live in a sturdy keep that overseas crop fields, situated inbetween the border with the Eyrie and the Green Fork of the Trident, not far from the Kingsroad.

If there are any ideas towards this/objections lemme hear them!

I can work to accomodate characters for you both! Message me with some more of your ideas.

And if you can call a GoT RP slice-of-life then sure. But there will be plenty of swordfights and the sort!

I like the name and crest, however, Fallow Hill doesn't make much sense. Fallowing was the act of leaving a field unsown for a growing cycle in order for the farmland to regain its fertility. Perhaps something similar but different? Such as Hallow Hill, which would mean Holy Hill meaning the place was a site of religious significance? Or even Shallow Hill which would be a descriptor for the local landscape?

The House rules over farmlands, and their main export is crop. The keep of Fallow Hill and the village around it are on a hill that watches over the crop fields. Traditionally, if there is a surplus of supplies in the area, the farmers of the lands will return to Fallow Hill to rest, celebrate, and fallow the lands, ensuring that the next harvest is bountiful.

Or that was my idea at least

I think so, but it might mean checking up on the asoiaf wiki every now and then to fact check stuff! I would expect certain customs of the world to be adhered to (for example, if your character said "oh my god!", it would feel jarring as the deities of Westeros are 'the seven' or the 'old gods'.) But I am lenient with it!
