Appearance:
Aoi is a young Yaewong woman, standing at roughly average height with her 5'1". She has long, wild, black hair, normally kept in a loose ponytail. Unbound, it reaches all the way between her shoulder blades. Her eyes are deep blue, which are the reason she's named as she is. Her fingers are covered in an abundance of scars both big and small.

The only armor Aoi wears is a pair of bracers and sturdy leather boots. She doesn't usually wear shirts, instead favoring to bind her chest and wear jackets with broad shoulders. These clothes offer very little protection, but allow her to move without being restricted. Her clothes are of typical Yaewong design, albeit not traditional.

Personality:
Aoi is rather weak-willed and indecisive. On top of that, her self-esteem is as low as it gets. To avoid being used and hurt like she's been in the past, she puts up the front of a bold, noisy thug. This facade suits her ominously well, as she's grown insensitive to death. Despite her persona, she often has trouble asserting herself, and confrontations often end up escalating because of it. She's often overwhelmed by dark thoughts, but despite that and her inability to trust others, she keeps seeking out other people.

She has a habit of reaching for her abdomen when surprised, using her hands to cover the spot where her ribs have been broken in the past.

Background:
Orphaned from a young age, Aoi never even knew her parents and for a large part of her youth she was living with the foresight of being drafted into Yaewong's army so she could fight and die for her nation should the need arise. Before she was old enough to be drafted however, someone actually decided to adopt her. Never had Aoi even dared to dream such a day would come, and for a while she thought that perhaps she might truly find happiness in her new life.

However, happiness was not what life had in store for young Aoi. At first, things weren't even that bad. The man who'd adopted her quickly began her martial arts training, and so long as she quickly was able to quickly grasp the techniques, things were fine... Mostly. Things really started to get out of hand when Aoi reached the difficult techniques. She wasn't particularly talented and soon reached a point where she was always letting down her teacher. Her home situation also worsened. While her teacher had always been strict, he'd also gotten abusive as his patience ran out. 

Soon, Aoi's life had become a slur of training, being scolded and taking the abuse. Her only relief she found in the forest around the dojo, which had become the only place where she didn't have to worry about living up to her teacher's standards. It was also in this forest that she encountered Kaijin; the Scyther that would later become her Pokémon partner. Time mercilessly marched on and the abuse only grew worse as Aoi's teacher provided her with yet harder techniques she couldn't get the hang of fast enough. Eventually, Aoi reached her limit, and with her partner, Scyther, she killed her teacher and his Pokémon. Ever since, she's been a wanted fugitive.

One day when Aoi was out crying in the woods, she attracted the attention of a small number of predatory pokémon. Aoi could only watch in terror as the pokémon fought each other. In the end, a Scyther emerged victorious, but just as it was about to cut her down, the fatigue overtook it and it collapsed. For reasons she couldn't quite understand herself, Aoi found herself dragging the injured pokémon to the shack behhind the dojo that served as her room, and tended to its wounds.

When the Scyther regained consciousness, it once more prepared to attack her, almost causing Aoi to pass out from the fear. The Scyther failed to deliver his attack, once more thwarted by its battle scars and soon Aoi managed to convince it that she wasn't trying to hurt it. Aoi continued to take care of the Scyther in secret, until one day she'd had enough of her teacher's abuse. She came back after lessons that day, and together with Scyther killed her teacher and his Pokémon. Since then, Aoi and Scyther have left Yaewong and traveled from place to place, simply taking what they need to survive. Scyther seems to be the dominant party, and he seems pretty happy that way.

Appearance:

Alyssa stands at roughly 5'4" and weighs 120 lb. She has a rather petite-albeit athletic-build earned by years of physical confrontations and speedy escapes. Her hair is jet black and reaches to her shoulders, which she prefers to wear down. Her eyes are a light shade of blue, and typically hold a sense of mischief that can be somewhat unnerving. Alyssa has a sort of wolfish beauty to her face, though she seems unbothered by this.

In terms of clothing, Alyssa prefers to keep things simple and practical. While she does wear some iron plate armor over her most vulnerable areas, the rest is typically adorned in either leather or wool clothing. She prefers shades of blue above all else, and is never without her dagger at her side.

Personality:

Alyssa Rondel is nothing if not an opportunist. Her eyes are always picking out a potential target, her ears always listening for the jangle of coins in someone's pocket. Her "personality" can shift on a dime, whether she needs to be the damsel in distress or the stone-cold outlaw; whatever persona will benefit her best, she'll take it. And yet, behind this practiced deceit, Alyssa is simply another desperate citizen of Venirin driven to extremes by the war. She's learned to make do with even the most bare of necessities, whether it's food or coin. However, Alyssa certainly isn't a helpless victim. Years of thievery and robbery have hardened her to the realities of her situation, making her somewhat prideful and ruthless; her first priority is always herself and her Pokemon. While she has no qualms about using violence, she isn't one to jump to murder. She also does her best to prey mostly on the wealthy, though she will steal from anyone if necessary.

While Alyssa mostly works alone (save for her partner Pokemon), she has joined short-term gangs and bandits for a quick score. In dealing with others, she tends to be rather curt and straightforward, unafraid to voice her opinions. She tends to be impatient and dismissive, with little consideration for the feelings of others. On the rare occasion she decides she likes someone, her tone will have more biting sarcasm and dry humor than before. However, she has a hard time expressing her deeper emotions, tending to remain secretive and reclusive.

Background:

Alyssa Rondel grew up in a small village on the outskirts of the Karadhor mountains, simply known as Korvak. The land was inhospitable and harsh, unkind to farmers and livestock; most of the villagers made their living as coal miners. Alyssa herself was born into a family of these coal miners, growing up impoverished, but not altogether unhappy. At the very least, food was a reliable presence; however, everything changed when war rocked the citizens of Venirin. Suddenly, every able-bodied villager in Korvak was charged with supplying coal for the army, leaving none to be traded with the nearby farming villages. In short, the people began to starve.

With both of her parents constantly working-leaving her with no adult supervision-a famished Alyssa began to turn to less savory means of getting food. At ten years old, desperate to help both herself and her parents, she learned to take advantage of her innocent appearance to steal food. Slowly, she developed a penchant for sleight of hand, slipping in and out of people's pockets without them noticing. Food stands also became a target, with Alyssa learning how to avoid people's lines of sight. However, as the war progressed and resources became more scarce, the villagers became more wary of thieves. This forced Alyssa to escalate her thievery; she began to steal from passing soldiers and wealthy travelers, and even carried out break-ins within her village.

And yet, like so many other sad stories, Alyssa's life spiraled even more. The intense coal mining eventually caused the mine itself to collapse, killing many of Korvak's adult population as well as many of its working Pokemon; this included both of Alyssa's parents. As a direct result of this event, Korvak fell further into poverty, with little sympathy given to the remaining villagers. Alyssa, sixteen and orphaned, was now alone with no one to take care of but herself. She decided to leave Korvak, taking her skills as a thief and burglar with her. Over the last four years, she's diversified her skillset somewhat, taking on mercenary work and learning to defend herself. She also began to stage more elaborate attacks, sabotaging supply caravans and traveling merchants.

Bond:

Like all Riolu, Lucina has the ability to read the auras and emotions of others. This is what has primarily allowed the two to be so close and communicative; Lucina can react quickly and appropriately to Alyssa's emotions without forcing her to admit to them. While Alyssa tends to be very harsh and abrupt with other people, Lucina tends to bring out a softer side of her. Lucina understands when Alyssa needs alone time or companionship, and the two are practically inseparable. While the two are both somewhat cold and reclusive, Lucina is a bit more childish, tending to be easily excited and overeager. However, Lucina understands when situations get serious, and knows to react accordingly.

Lucina, like Alyssa, is somewhat hardened by the harsh environment of Venirin. Alyssa found Lucina two years ago, fending off scraps of food from scavenging Spearow. Having been largely alone thus far-and feeling a twinge of sympathy for the Riolu-Alyssa figured she could at least try to help. Unlike many of the wild Pokemon she'd encountered, the Riolu seemed to understand right away that Alyssa wanted to help. The two managed to drive off the attacking Spearow, saving the food scraps. At first, Alyssa simply left the Riolu behind, figuring that a wild Pokemon wouldn't voluntarily accompany her. Yet, the Riolu could sense an intrinsic loneliness in Alyssa; she followed her for several miles, persistent despite repeated dismissals. However, the true test of loyalty came when a roaming cutthroat attacked Alyssa, taking her by surprise and nearly overwhelming her. Without hesitation, the Riolu jumped to Alyssa's defense, helping her drive off the assailant.

It was then that Alyssa decided that, perhaps, the both of them had better chances of surviving if they were together. And in fact, the Riolu seemed to agree. Alyssa named the little Riolu Lucina, after a female warrior from a storybook she'd liked as a child. Despite the immorality of her actions, Lucina became a loyal companion to Alyssa, helping and protecting her no matter what.

 Jirai is 5'6" in height and weighs somewhere around 135 pounds. Her hair is long, reaching about armpit height, and is dark blonde. Her eyes are deep grey - storm-cloudish in color - and tend to make her look as if she were in deep contemplation. Her reserved facial expressions accentuate this visage further.
When it comes to clothing selection, Jirai isn't picky - as long as it's nothing too fancy. Her wardrobe consists of a palette of dark colors, mostly including blues, greens, browns, grays, black, etc. She usually covers her first layer of clothing with a light mantle that reaches her elbows, accompanied by a hood - which she almost always wears up.
   If one were to remove the mantle, they could easily see the defined muscles of her arms, built through years of hunting with and without a bow, which could put some men to shame. She regularly wears a cord around her right bicep, and seemingly has an emotional connection to it.
 On her forearms, one will notice that she wears vambraces constructed of leather and steel plates. Their realm of usefulness being multifaceted; they protect her from her own bowstring, although the is skilled enough to do so herself, and they protect her from the weapons of whatever she is hunting - whether it be a Pokémon's fangs, or a human's blade.
She generally does not wear any other armor, in order to retain mobility and discretion.

Personality:
Jirai is an exceptionally reserved individual. This is not to say that she is shy, but she just tends not to talk much. One could theorize this is the case because of her acclimatization to stealth during the hunt - an activity she is more than used to. Nobody sees much of her beyond this, besides her Pokémon, Druddigon.
  When it comes to goals, Jirai is extremely focused on whatever task is at hand, aiming to accomplish it as efficiently as possible. However, she doesn't seem to have any 'goals' for herself - or at least, she hasn't communicated them to anyone. Not surprisingly.

Jirai is not a bad person at heart, and to some degree believes Karma will come back to bite her, in the future. However, she justifies some of her less savory actions by telling herself things such as "Nobody is innocent." or "If I don't do this, somebody else will do it two-fold." - whether she truly convinces herself that these things are true depend on the current circumstances.

She generally sees herself as more careful than other more brash criminals - and as such will take matters into her own hands if she believes those around her are incapable - to ensure success, often without voicing her agenda. However, she is not that bad of a team player, if those around her are at least competent.

Background:
Jirai grew up as an only child, under the care of her loving father and mother. Early on, her mother expected the girl to become a housewife like herself, as was custom. However, much to her father's joy, the youngling soon showed more than a little interest in her father's craft - hunting. Not necessarily the killing part - she would grow into that eventually - but the exposure to Pokémon is what excited her the most.
The family lived in a woodland cabin, just near the town of Bussran, along the southeast coastline. Unfortunately for them, said town was in the warpath of Jurius Veniri, the new King of Venirin. Soon enough, the town would be just that - the path which he had trampled underfoot.
Jirai, having lost her parents at the ripe age of 11, and being lost in the trail of dust left by Jurius' crusade, had to learn to fend for herself. Well, not completely for herself - she had one companion. A Druddigon whom the family had recently obtained. If not for the Druddigon, Jirai likely would have starved - as the warpath left little fauna for her novice hunting skills to procure her. As such, the two have since formed a very tight-knit bond.

Due to their bonding through the years, the girl talks to her Pokémon much more than she does any human, and actually tends to show emotions when engaged with him, sometimes even cracking laughs - though never has anyone seen this. Due to their mutual hard-headed natures they often clash with each other playfully, trying to overcome the other's self-progress on a daily basis; going even so far as to hold strength contests against one another (of course, strength being relative to their Species).
Their bond is so strong, that Druddigon tends to sense Jirai's intentions even before she acts on them, and vice versa. This is often seen in battle, when the duo can seem to act in perfect sync, despite the lack of verbal communication almost entirely.

Appearance: 
6ft4, near pure white hair and a grimace almost permanently set in place, Xavier is not exactly the most outwardly welcoming. His hair, formerly kept short cut, is now allowed to flow freely. His 'armor' little more than thick cloth in hues of grey and white. His hair once again, is white, though unnaturally so, and jarring to look at even when one considers his pale skin.

Personality:
Soft grunts and nods often make up his speech, though this can often be attributed to his treatment as a slave servant to his master. He is extremely protective, quickly defining his limits with anybody he considers a part of his circle and leaving them set in stone. He is near impossible to sway from these decisions, and will never abandon or betray those he pledges himself upon. In this way, he is a slave of his own making.

Background:
Born in Guran, Xavier was taken prisoner by Yaewong forces at a young age. He was taught very quickly that the fastest way to die is to ignore orders. As time went on Xavier became so obedient that his master trusted him enough to have him outfitted and trained as a faux-knight. This would last from age 16 to 23 as he served a minor landowner and his family for nearly his entire life until he was blamed for the assassination of his master. He would have died, had it not been for the fortunate spot his half alive body had been dumped. He spent nearly a week in a half coma before he woke up with a blue tinted Ralts staring at him from across a bed. He soon left with the Ralts, learning from the kindly old lady who saved his life that the little blue fellow had been found laying across his body, and followed him all the way to to the old woman's home as she struggled to keep him alive. He did not blame his attackers, and held no ill will for his former masters, simply treating it as a termination of employment. However low in the rankings socially and politically his former masters were, he held a respect for them that was beaten into him over many years. 

With a Ralts following him relentlessly, Xavier often found himself in trouble again and again due to his tenancy to place himself in the hands of others rather than make his own path. This resulted in him often being brought into groups of people whose goals were unsavory to say the least. Cults, Bandit hives and even at one point a 'weapons' trader, Xavier seemed to always attract trouble, forcing him to constantly move and seek out a goal, a purpose even if it meant serving under somebody. He spent most of his time after that wandering between bandit groups, until he was eventually left alone once again, albeit with a Kirlia at his side this time.

Bond: 
A Ralts has the power to sense the emotions of people and Pokémon with the horns on its head. It takes cover if it senses any hostility. In this respect one may find that Xavier is the perfect partner for a Ralts. Harboring no ill intent for anybody, even those he fights, Xavier was approached by Blue back then for one simple reason. As he lay there half alive, clearly attacked and left for dead, not a single thought that passed through the man's mind involved revenge, or the harm of those who had done such to him. 

Blue is as protective of Xavier as Xavier is of his masters. The little fellow is extremely social while standing in the shadow of Xavier, feeling perfectly safe in the Slave Knight's presence, yet when removed from Xavier's presence, one will find just how much Blue has begun to rely on Xavier's calming aura. Battle-wise Blue is extremely supportive, often preferring to use telepathy to help direct Xavier's attention to more pressing foes and heal pulse to help keep her protector standing. However, when pressed Blue has been known to use Teleport, Magical Leaf and Hypnosis to keep itself out of harm's way.

Admittedly, following Xavier was out of sheer attraction. As a ralts in a period of time where everybody wants to harm everybody, Blue was attracted to the calming aura that seemed to radiate peace in Xavier, at least that's how Blue would describe it. The moment things changed was the moment Blue evolved from a Ralts, into a Kirlia. It was in their early days as bandits, one of the first groups they had joined encountered the remnants of Xavier's family of former masters. Though he no longer took orders from them, Xavier could not allow harm to come to them either. Needless to say this lead to Xavier being turned on by most of the bandit group. It was when Xavier was driven to his knees, ready to accept a fatal blow when Blue was driven into her evolution. It was as if time stood still, and in mere moments and a simple thought, she pushed at his attacker with her mind, throwing him backwards onto his ally's waiting blade. Truthfully, they barely survived, though Kirlia learned the extent of her dependence on Xavier, or perhaps even her bond with him.

If you were to reveal his hands they are look discolored and burned on the palms. His eyes are a deep blue with a messy ring of hazel, brown, and almost red around his pupil. Definitely no pointy ears here

Personality: 
Self-centered and nihilistic. Throughout Dante’s life he has been proven time and time again that the world is truly without inherent meaning. The only meaning in this world is what you give it. So care for yourself and only a few and tell the rest of the world to go fuck itself

Background: 
Dante came From Bussran. He was raised by his mother and father. Things were good until his father had to leave to join the war efforts. His father quickly died in battle and none of his belongings returned. His mother quickly remarried because she couldn’t support herself on her own. From there both his mother and Dante suffered from the man she married and from the siblings. Dante’s mother did not let this happen for long until she slit her new husband's eye and ran with a cart full of goods, leaving Dante behind. Dante didn’t blame his mother for leaving him. In fact, he started to think he would have done the same. Dante started to take the majority of the abuse from his “family”. The worse it got is when the older boys dunked his hands in an acid. It disfigured Dante's hand for life, making them appear constantly burned and discolored with a green hue. However this just fueled his hatred for the aristocrats even more. He used the library there to learn of some science and mainly focused on weaponizing his knowledge. Once he knew enough he left at the age of 15. Not before continuing his mother’s work and this time stabbing his father's only good eye with a small parrying knife covered with a poison that would make the wound burn long after it would heal. He headed out and started doing as he pleased as a thief with a little bit of assassination work if he could.

Bond: Dante raised crackers from an egg. He was hired to assassinate an old soldier who was being a bit too vigilant for his liking. Dante followed him and a group out to the forest. Upon there the group was attacked by a Salamence they could not hope to survive this encounter Dante just sat and waited for them to die. Much to Dante’s surprise the group slayed the Salamence and the only one left standing was the soldier. Dante then stabbed him through the heart. He started collecting the valuable when he then spotted a nest with an egg inside. He could guess it belonged to the Salamence. As he touched it it was warm to the touch and he could feel a heartbeat. At that moment he had thought “Fuck it, why not?” He picked up the egg and it with him. Later that same day the small Bagon popped out bright eyed and new to the world. And it looked hungry. So Dante now being in a bit of a rush tossed some crackers at the Bagon and it loved them. So Dante named him crackers. A few years later Bagon evolved to Shelgon. And that is where they are now. Dante found a lot of interest in Crackers. It seemed like from birth it knew that it wanted to fly and that was what drove it. Dante found the Bagon's excitement to get stronger motivated Dante to be more proactive in a way too. He strives to help Bagon so he became an even better thief to get more food and have to spend less time having to do jobs. Shelgon helped him do a job once or twice by dragon raging someone who was running away. But I guess you could say it somehow turned into a parental kinda relationship between the 2.

His Face has a hard and stern look with a enlarged nose, from constant breakage, a scar on his left ear from a knife attack, and a black beard that covers his worn and torn tanned skin. His arms and body is that of a strong man as he was built up through work and strife, his hands shows it as his knuckles look like one large scar with some of his fingers beings slightly crooked from the incessant breakage and his hands are heavily callused as combat demands them to be tough. His forearms are covered with many small scars from everyday life. With his legs being as if tree trunks attached to a giant to over all making him look to be a mountain.

Personality:

An abrasive man he believes in everyman and woman should take hold of their life no matter would happen and you own it. He always prides himself in keeping himself in good shape and on top of his combat as he grew up with people around him doing the same. His one thing that branches off from his birth place is the belief of being loyal to yourself and what you believe in before anything else, which gets him into trouble more often than anything. 

He has kept himself in high moral as he steals only when necessary and stuck to hunting, but he doesn’t shy away from killing. If someone approaches him and attacks he has 0 mercy and 0 guilt when looting them of everything they have. Yet he does carry regret in him as he can find himself remembering what he used to be and even who he could have been if he just kept his mouth shut about the general's wrong doings.

He will talk to most as if he was a normal soldier, with respect but keep it quick, as he finds it easy to talk like this and makes things simpler as you get what you need. His entire goal is to live with and protect Gastly, who was the thing that has been with him since he was a teen and has stayed by his side since.

Background:

Adrian was born to George and Christina Crowin. George Corwin was a well respected captain who honored many of the beliefs and ideas of his father: to become a well respected warrior, be a man you want to look up to, and, the one thing that seems odd for a man born in Yaewong, be loyal and honorable to yourself before anyone else. 

These same ideas were passed down to Adrian and he held them to his heart. Even from a young age he tried everything he could to stay real to these as he held himself with high standards. When he played with others he wanted to be the best so he did everything in his power to do his best, when he was being taught he worked himself to exhaustion everyday to absorb every bit of knowledge as if it was the last thing he will ever be taught. When he was being taught by his father to fight he fought as if he lost he would not eat dinner. Everything he did was with such determination he could be seen as a workaholic, yet he believed to reach where his father did, and where his father's father did, he would need to put in this much work to just get there.

When Adrian became a teenager he found some teens 'playing' with a Gastly as they throw rocks at it and taking large paper fans and blowing it around. Strangely this game would end with people being afraid when the Gastly tried to envelope you, but it just ran. As they found a large clay vase and caught it in it and sealed it as they started shaking it, Adrian had enough and wasn't gonna just watch them torment a Pokémon that showed no intent of hurting people. Adrian came over and started trying to catch the vase as they threw it around him, he tried as he could and didn't any luck when he decided knocking the teeth in of the next person who goes to catch it.

After around a fast brawl where it left Adrian with bloodied knuckles, beaten face, and the vase with the Gastly in it. Adrian let it out and started to talk to it. He slowly began to try and help it cope and even started to befriend it. After sometime and a few berries Gastly began to follow Adrian without him noticing. Staying far enough away so he couldn't feel its presence and watching him. After another week Gastly came out and activley followed Adrian as they began a friendship that lasted even 'till now.

When Adrian came of age he wanted to join the military, and as he was tested through battle and combat he found he was good with a sword because of his father's teachings, and he had good knowledge of the flow of battle and how to act and call actions from his grandfather's books and taking notes form his father on how to lead. He worked his way up to be a captain of a large unit and was working under the warrior General Leno Koi. Adrian saw this man as who he wanted to be as he seemed like a strong leader and an excellent warrior. Yet this was broken after a campaign under his command.

His general is one of the few men Adrian ever knew who had no back bone. He had little in the way of military tactics and was subpar in combat strategy, but he had an excellent physique and perfect sword play second to none. This man was an excellent warrior, but knew nothing on how to fight when they are at disadvantage and brought shame on the idea of war as he is often times cowering when faced with a decision too great for him to handle. This got so bad as other captains and commanders needed to take control of the situation to not just crumble.

Yet the reason Adrian is not in the Yaewong army isn't because he fancied a nice time as a bandit, he found himself in the presence of an enemy force who was about to over whelm them, in his quick decision Adrian ordered, against expressed orders of General Koi, to retreat and bunker down. At night he was charged with treason as what he did could have killed many more. During this time he was taken and was sentenced to be executed at morning. Gastly wasn't having this as she killed those guarding him and broke him out as  they escaped with a hot trail they used the darkness of night and Gastly following behind shielding him to escape. And really the rest comes from the need to survive as he is now a wanted criminal in his home country.

Adrian found a Gastly being tormented and trapped by many teens when he was younger. He took Gastly away and let it out and began to talk to it, trying to calm it down and have it trust him. As many Gastlys always wants a companion she began to follow the only person who decided to be nice and not run away or attack it. She followed Adrian through his training and even through his rise to captain. 

Gastly followed him close staying to the shadow and trying to not get hurt by others as they might be afraid of her. Through these times Adrian trained Gastly to defend herself as they would find themselves in battle and she could get into trouble as he gets caught up as well. During Adrian's training and even in battle he was already large and intimidating, but Gastly increased the presence as he always had a frightening presence follow him making him seem larger then life at times. All thanks to Gastly being a little bitch.

Gastly transformed into a Haunter when they had to run away and disappear from the military camp as they were going to be killed by the General Koi because of what Adrian found. Haunter helped by putting people to sleep and allowing a swift exit and a helped by scouting for Adrian, making sure she could save the man who gave her a chance and gave her friendship.

Appearance: Sarai is taller than the average woman, all long limbs and serene softness. Her hair falls in lilac waves around her shoulders, littered with thin braids, and her eyes are a haunting, pale blue that stand out against her brown skin. A crisp, clean scar arcs around her right eye – an image of a crescent with a line slashing down through it.

Sarai's left leg is covered with fresh burn scars from the shin down to the sole of her foot, the bones within slightly deformed and crooked – an injury that she did her best to treat, but still healed imperfectly. She now walks with a limp, leaning heavily on a branch that she turned into a half-hearted walking stick.

Personality: Gentle, quiet, and reserved, Sarai is one to listen often and speak rarely. She's well educated and has a compassionate air about her, but her life up to this point has led her to be detached from the people around her. She's more observer than actor; when seeing an atrocity she's more likely to record how it unfolds than she is to intervene – and as of recently, she's more and more prone to seeing what she has to gain from the situation.

Background: Sarai never knew her family. She, along with dozens of other infant girls from the isolated town of Kantabin in southern Arendann, was claimed by the Moon Gazers – women who served as healers, scholars, and historians. Their cause was to record the ever-changing phases of life, to bear witness to the day-to-day goings-on of Kantabin and to record them – to remember. Thus, the Moon Gazers were called to moments of import in people's lives: birth, death, marriages, apprenticeship graduations... Sarai was once called to witness a man ending his relationship with his fiancée, and write it down in one of her many notebooks. The role of the Moon Gazers eventually evolved to include medicine work and healing.

Sarai lived a controlled, simple life of wanting for little and observing everything. But then she started writing more and more about rumors whispered in the streets and little shops about the fall of the king of Venirin and his ambitious successor. Then there were the first confirmed reports of battles along the border. Then Hell came to Kantabin.

Bond: Sarai never intended to have a Pokémon. As a Moon Gazer, it was forbidden. Esa was a Scyther, and the loyal companion of a man named Taryn Faider. Taryn, a member of the Kantabin town guard, was a quiet man, just and dutiful – and hopelessly in love with Sarai. He'd go out of his way to escort her from the Lunar Library to whatever event she was to witness, presenting her with little purple flowers, complimenting her intricate penmanship... Sarai didn't know how to return his affections. But she didn't discourage them, either. As with everything else, she observed with a detached sort of fascination. 

When Venirin's hunger finally reached Kantabin, Taryn took up arms along with the rest of the guard – but Kantabin was a quiet town, unprepared for war. A mere hour before Venirin soldiers planted their flag in the layer of ash that covered the cobblestone streets, Taryn, bloodsoaked and panting and with Esa following quickly behind, ran to the Library. It was burning. There'd been screams before, as loud as the furious blaze, but they'd since quieted. Moon Gazers lay dead on the library floor, felled by the smoke and consumed by the fire. Taryn ordered Esa to wait outside, before dashing into the building. It was several long minutes before Taryn came crashing back out into the open air, Sarai's limp body thrown over his shoulder. Her left leg was a mess of charred black and red, bones crooked and unnatural. Taryn dropped her in Esa's arms and ordered him to take her away – keep her safe. Taryn cupped the side of Esa's face and pressed his forehead against the Scyther's. He closed his eyes, his jaw clenching tight. Then Taryn pulled away, grabbed his sword, and charged back into the heart of Kantabin to meet the Venirin soldiers once more.

The days following the fall of Kantabin were challenging to say the least. Both Sarai and Esa were weak, injured in the attack; Sarai's foot was mangled and the act of treating herself was painful and difficult without any of her supplies from the library. Meanwhile, Esa had a shard of a Venirin sword lodged in his thorax. Day by day the red stain grew, frighteningly fast. Sarai thought it was infection – that Esa was dying. But then he finally allowed her close enough to examin it to find that the red stain wasn't blood or an infection. It was metal. Soon enough there was no more green on Esa's body. Instead he'd changed completely, evolving into something new – something stronger.

Esa didn't understand Taryn's decision. He still doesn't. He belonged with Taryn, not this woman who nodded and smiled but never loved him back. But Esa could never go against his partner's final wish. Ever loyal, he serves as Sarai's guardian – but nothing more. He resents her, rarely listens to her, but will follow wherever she goes and will do everything in his power to protect her.

standing at a massive 6’4 and weighing in at 270 pounds, Bronz looks 
the part of enforcer just as well as he does it. A shock of black hair runs close cut in the middle of his head, ending abruptly at the forehead. Hardened, dark brown eyes stare out from a weathered, scarred face. Most if not all of his body is muscle on top of muscle, with the skin above it riddled with all manner of scars and wounds that haven’t properly healed. His nose, upon close inspection is slightly askew after a nasty bar fight and a shattered nose that never went fully straight again. He wears boiled and hardened leather armor, clearly made to withstand a beating just like the man wearing it. 

Personality: 
Bronz is a classic intimidator and bruiser. When he does talk, his voice and tone rarely convey any other emotions than boredom or outright fury. Likewise his actions can seem at best business minded, and at worst bloodthirsty. At some points he may enjoy the satisfaction of knocking an idiot out with one blow, but on other more solemn occasions he does his work with a grimace and hunched shoulders. He is amicable to anyone in his gang that starts a conversation, but never clearly interested unless it pertains to his few hobbies, that being pillaging, drinking, skull smashing, or the finer points of brute force combat. Bronz is very direct minded, to the point where he may outright ignore the finer parts of a plan just for the hell of it. In his eyes, the only valid currency in respect, and when a leader gains that from him, Bronz is a loyal, if somewhat close minded follower.

Inventory: 

Brute: Bronz’s Warhammer, an extremely durable and heavy weapon. When wielded by someone with apt strength, although it is relatively slow, any hit landed is sure to crush bones and cause internal damage. 

Smithing tools: a belt containing regular smithing tools such as prongs and a hammer. 

Leather armor: cheap, but extremely durable for its cost. Bronz has reinforced a few parts such as the chest and legs with banded iron.

Flask: a “flask”, around the size of a normal pitcher that is stoppered and hangs loosely from Bronz’ belt. Usually filled with Burly Brew as he affectionally calls it. (It’s actually just the strongest drinks he can find, mixed together and triple distilled.

 Backstory: 

Bronz was born in a small town at the heart of Arendann, although he never knew its name. At an early age by disease or plague his parents were taken from him, and before he even knew what was happening Bronz was taken from the small town to an orphanage resting on the border, in a village known as Haln . Quickly as he aged, he grew tougher and meaner, quickly finding a place in the gang of bullies that ruled over other street children and orphans with an iron fist. Finally released from the orphanage at age 16, Bronz found himself without shelter or food, and as he was no longer a part of the youth, his power and malice over the children faded. Without the Adept enforcer that Bronz was, the oppressive gang of teens was slowly corrupted from within, finally resulting in the death of its leader and relative peace brought back to the teens and orphans of Haln.

Bronz has no awareness of these goings on after he took his leave however. He took a menial job as a blacksmiths apprentice, and while lacking the finesse for finer projects, grew to be competent with the hammer and forge. With little else to do for fun, Bronz took to increasingly strong drinking and with that, violent drunken fighting. As his strength and coincidentally number of scars grew, he gained the attention of the Red Wolves, a small time gang rising in response to the growing corruption surrounding the increasingly hostile border situation between Arendann and Venirin. They sought to capitalize on the soon to be weakness of both sides, and offered Bronz a job as an enforcer to their gang  as frontline muscle. 

Bronz took a liking to frontline combat with a Warhammer, and intimidating the village folk certainly harkened back to better times for the man, when the children of Haln had cowered under his teenage gangs banner. He found himself set about with new purpose, although he would never admit that to anyone. As the raids and combat began to feel more commonplace, his fiery temper and alcohol binges were vastly curtailed, relegated instead to moments of extreme despair or elation. With his contract with the Red Wolves recently finished, Bronz now roams the border in search of opportunities for loot, and secretly a gang to belong in again.

It was really just another boring day in the village when a Lairon stumbled in out of nowhere, injured and seemingly enraged. It tore through the small village, injuring and even killing a few of the more unlucky passerby’s, until breaking into the smithy. Bronz leaped back in surprise as this gigantic beast began rapidly consuming all of the iron in the shop, before heaving a sigh and collapsing. Quickly before the villagers arrived to exact bloody vengeance, Bronz dragged it into the non damaged back room and covered it with a tarp, leading the villagers to a fruitless hunt in the forest before they eventually gave up. Bronz was planning on nursing it back to health and selling it, but realized then that like him it’s life was not in danger, it merely was confused and angry. As they both saw themselves in each other, both bullheaded and stubborn to a fault, a companionship began to grow. Although he initially disliked having a follower, he soon came to realize that it was quite effective at terrifying the common villagers and dealing with threats. And although neither would ever admit it,  a close bond and care quickly came out of the initially business minded relationship.
