Location: Caelestis.
Time: Not Applicable.
*I walk through the thunderous crackling of lightning mingled with blindingly white light, steadily drawing closer to the multicolored throne before me and the being that currently sits upon it*
Adonai: *Cocks his head to the side as he idly drums his fingers against the thrones armrest* So. Here we are.
*I stare at him coldly, disdain evident on my face*
Yes, father. Here we are at long last.
Adonai: *He sighs as he takes in the amount of angelic beings amassed around him, some still loyal and some not* I suppose none of you are willing to talk about this?
*I scoff*
I was. Several millennia ago. I tried to reason with you after we stopped the madness of the Leviathans, but you would not listen. You would not hear. And now the humans have arisen, and their hunger for knowledge knows no bounds, just like your first creations! If they are not stopped, not guided and controlled, they will become just like the Leviathans were! Beasts that consume everything in their path!
Adonai: Yet they might not. You do not know for certain Sammael, and neither do I.
*I glare at him in rage, my grip on my blades hilt tightening*
Might not? MIGHT NOT?! YOU IGNORANT BASTARD! THEY'VE ALREADY DISCOVERED HOW TO FASHION WEAPONS FROM WOOD AND STONE! THEY ARE ALREADY USING THOSE WEAPONS TO MURDER EACH OTHER!
*I pause briefly, taking a few moments to recompose myself, and then continue*
If that is how they use their primitive intellects now, who's to say they won't use them for larger and even more destructive endeavours in the future? For all you know, you could be facing a second race of Leviathans millions or even thousands of years from now.
Adonai: *He leans back in his throne* True, but I could also be facing a race of peaceful explorers whose only wish is to study the mysteries of the cosmos. That's the beauty of free will Sammael. It doesn't have to be one thing or another. Humanity could become as greedy and destructive as the Leviathans were, yes. But they could also refuse that path and seek another. One of peace and harmony.
*I grind my teeth at his words, every muscle in my body tense. When I finally do speak, my voice is laced with steel* You really don't get it do you? *He begins to reply, but I cut him off* No, don't even bother with a response. I was a fool for thinking you could be reasoned with.
*I pull my sword from its sheath and level it at him*
If reason will not work, then perhaps violence will instead.
Adonai: *His eyes narrow into thin slits as his countenance becomes sterner* I advise you to think very carefully about what you are about to do Sammael.
*I snarl*
The time for talk has passed old man.
Adonai: *He nods slightly, an expression of solemnity passing across his face briefly, before rising from his throne and stretching out his hand* It's a shame you could not see things as I do.
*A wave of light emanates from his open palm and surges towards me and my group of divine rebels. I try to dodge it, but he causes it to shift into a wall with a slight flick of his wrist. Turning back to those who have followed me thus far, I give them the command to flee Caelestis, before trying to escape the wall of energy myself. Unfortunately, no matter how fast or far I fly, I cannot seem to outrun the annihiltive force. So, panicking, I call upon my own powers and slice open a rift in dimensions and tumble through it, quickly falling into the darkness beyond...*
