I know this area is usually for slightly more fleshed out ideas but I've been itching for a ASOIAF roleplay and no one else seems to be doing one. Would anyone be interested in making one with me or even just being a player while I made one? If I get some interest then I'll put some time into some rough stories that the group can choose from and we can move on from there.

Hey there! Would this be a game of thrones-esque roleplay or a straight up retelling? Or just our version of things as the other stuff is going on? I would be interested :) Loved Game of Thrones (even the parts people hated ) and would like to delve into a world like that, preferably not a copy and paste of story/characters.

I'm thinking that it would be set in the same world but without the characters from the books/show. Or otherwise it would be set in the future so the events would be in the history. However we do it there certainly will be no main characters played by anyone. Other than the last point there - I'm totally open to suggestions.

A man has been plagued by something similar to what you are feeling. I too am quite interested in tackling a Song of Ice and Fire thread. However, my idea is quite simple. It takes merely the basic understandings of what we know of that world and then essentially turns us loose onto an open concept by in large a new created world. In my mind, it would play out that Arya while untouchable by the Night King was still quite susceptible to the nasty barriage of diseases often encountered while at sea. With Arya Stark dead, the crew had a choice. Return home with nothing to show for it or carry on and perhaps create the tales to be told to the next generation. Contemplate. Discuss. If this is something that seems up your alley, perhaps we should speak.

First of all, I've yet to see a roleplay based primarily on the show go much of anywhere. The world has enough complexities that it pretty much requires information only found in the books and corresponding material. Then again, this is the Casual section, so you may have a much smaller scope in mind.

Now for an RP that revolves around the discovery of new lands in the west... I don't really see the point. We would be completely creating new lands, people, creatures, etc, yet we'd still be restricted by the rules and laws of the world of ASOIAF. Seems a waste of time to me to do all that work only to set it in a pre-existing world where the roleplay itself is barely connected.

Nobody even survives trips through the Sunset Sea anyway. It's not limited to Arya. It's just...humans in general fare like shit when you send them west of the Iron Islands.

Okay, so; Idea number 1.

- Basically we play out the events of Robert's Rebellion as they are described in the books with some added stuff - same ending.

Idea number 1.5.

- Same as 1 but instead of playing it like the books - things can change. An AU if you will.

Idea number 2.

- This one doesn't have a time associated with it - maybe after the events of the books. Up to where they are, that is. Winter has come and the Great Other is on the move, as it were, the Others are back in force in another long night. (Only it doesn't end in Winterfell because that's dumb.)

If anyone has an idea of what to do please present it. Let me know what you think about these rough ideas. I'm 100% open to other ideas, modifications or what have you.

I like the idea a lot. I had some ideas for it myself. If you need a co-GM I can be handy to offer a ✋ hand.
