@Lucius Cypher - I'll have to note skinning a half-dragon will not yield as much material as you might hope for. Their scales aren't quite as tough and numerous. And you'd end up with a lot of just plain old skin. This much is obvious as soon as one strips Cyanwrath of his armour. The toughest of the scales are on the head.

You may want to inquire about the attitudes of other characters sharing said space about that before you move on with such a plan. But if they approve, I suppose there won't be much to stop you from taking part in trying to make a hat out of the head of a creature that is mostly your size. That would take a check of that sort, I imagine.

Well they’ve already seen me skin a kobold previously, or at least I made no attempts to hide when I did that. How’s everyones thoughts about Orchid making a skin hat?

Kyra has no concerns over these people, so feel free to do what you wish against them, Cyanwrafh in particular. I’m not against resting here or in the previous room either, and frankly I don’t have much to say that isn’t just affirming that.

I'll get back to all this on Tuesday once I'm back at my computer and so help me God if you all have not thought through what actions (short rest or no short rest, chopping off heads or not chopping off heads of your fellow humanoids and what your next direction of approach is) you will be taking I will be burning everything I have and spending it on starting a new Lamentations of the Flame Princess game!

Well in that case, if no one is objecting I will take it upon the group to say that we’re going to take a short rest in the previous room and Orchid will use that time to turn Cyanwrafh into a helmet. Any who object speak now or hold your peace!

Yeah let's take a short rest in the other room. I would prefer if Orchid waits skinning Cyanwrath until this place is actually safe, since I'm sure there's still danger here that we're not aware of. But if he insist, Parum isn't going to stop him but she will keep an eye on the entrance that had the trip wire. If possible she might try and rig it back up but otherwise just keep watch.

That is what Brannor is suggesting, a short rest out of this room, so his vote will be there, @Ryonara. Unrelated yet of course relevant for @Lucius Cypher, the feral paladin would find the act strange but be completely indifferent to it. Cyanwrath was an enemy, just another thing to be hunted and felled, no personal attachment or involvement in it, so any moral judgment is effectively lacking.

Right. I believe that to be about it. Party is not split, and gathers in the room where the last battle took place, was that so?

The trap that dropped rocks from above cannot be reset unless significant effort is invested. This would mean some people of the party do not receive the benefits of the short rest. It is up to you if some will attempt to follow through with the plan. Other than that, you are welcome to apply the benefits of the short rest and prepare the next steps of your plan.

Awesome. Unfortunately looks like I already used 2/3 hitdie last time we short rested, but I can at least presumably add Parum's 1d6 for a total of 10 HP returned.

@Hekazu, Brannor would not be willing to spend the time on such a thing in any case. If anything the majority of it would be spent in anticipation of the next thing to come, whatever that may be, while the rest of the ensemble recuperate some of their strength to keep going for however long and far this cave seems to be.

I think I'm just missing @Zverda's input on the the short rest activity and the plans on what to do after the rest itself. As far as I am seeing, there have been suggestions but no concrete choices made, though you are free to correct me.

The Southwestern one, the one that seems to be bending Northwards after a short while? Because when the option is the wider stairway to the East, it doesn't really sound like it could be the option even though it features expansion towards South.

You came from the direction that says "IN", which would be the stairs heading down from the North. Cyanwrath's corpse is in the other room that did not contain dragon imagery and scribblings and all, the one those stairs come from. Since I'm pretty sure you are going to be continuing your search from this latter room.
