@Hekazu I had given my consent through IC to the short rest, even had Torus say he would keep watch since he wasn't injured XD Past him offering that I didn't really have anything to add to the short rest.

I made an attempt to post this yesterday, but my internet decided to crap on itself. Worry not, I trusted on the autosave to preserve the message. Actually, worry all you want, because it did not. Lovely. I suppose my browser settings must have eliminated it from existence. Or it remained unused for too long, which is also possible and even likely, though why would it display it at the bottom of the screen as a saved draft then? I digress.

As I had intended to say back then, to avoid an entire post of noncontent I shall share OOC what you find on this new path. The passage ends soon after turning towards North-West, the otherwise dead end featuring a rope ladder descending from above. It appears to end at an obstacle of some sort, though it doesn't quite look like stone as some light is making its way through. A rug? Kyra made no notes of movement in the area she guarded.

So now the question is, do you climb the rope ladder and if you do, in what order? If you do not, do you head back the way whence you came, or will you head East to see what's over there instead?

If left solely to Brannor, he would prefer to scout the eastern section first before going to consider the ladder. Effectively the logic of his would be to search everything in every area at a time, looking for a battle as is his want at the moment. Actual exploratory action on his half and interest is virtually none as of yet and will not likely be until he reverts to his questionably normal self. So if no one has any other input there, that is what I will see to him doing then, @Hekazu.

A post just to get a post up. I think we ought to cut some of the rope latter so it's too short for anyone to climb without the rest of the ladder, this way if any bad guys wanna use it they'll have to either drop down or take the long way. Conversely, as long as we're all still standing we can stand on each other's shoulders, tie the rope ladder back together or mend it with magic, and then we make our escape from there.

I vote we head back to the other area and take the east hall. I’m sure that’s where the dragon nest is. We just need to be careful of any surviving defenders and traps.

Sounds as though a majority are in favor of dealing with the level of the cave the group is already in first, @Hekazu. On a related note for @Lucius Cypher, that seems to be a reasonable enough plan no matter the approach. No contest against it to be had here.

That plan works for me. Parum's a little too short if we cut the ropes too high, but her magic ought to be able to fully mend the ropes if we cut it. Let's just be careful moving forward, I have no more spells to support anyone if things go bad.

Assuming no one adds anything else in the meantime, Brannor will prompt the bow wielding cleric to begin testing the strength of the eggs for them to contend with tomorrow.

I'm somewhat hesitant only because this sounds like a good idea, because I'm sure there's something big mean and ugly protecting the eggs itself. But if we just shoot em up and flee, that ought to be enough to fulfill that objective. But even so, we'll need to figure out where the heck the other cultists went (Sorta the secondary reason why we're here) and I'm sure there's some proof or evidence somewhere in the egg room.

Right, so if that is the decision…

Kyra sees no signs of further opposition, though given this is hard stone floor one can never be too sure.

Those who choose to wield a bow or other ranged weapons against the eggs are free to make a single attack roll against the shapes in the dark. Once that has been seen to, I will move us on with a post of my own.

Most objects are immune to poison and psychic damage, rendering them immune to Vicious Mockery @Ryonara. This includes dragon eggs in shady corners, or outside of them at that, but the latter does not really apply here. Also, the target would have to be a creature. And be able to hear you.

You are welcome to use the sling though, and the pebble does seem to hit the oval object at a good angle, some of the force transferring on over instead of simply making a glancing blow at the side. But the sound is not the most promising, it being a click much like you'd tossed a stone at the cave wall, if a little less resonant.

This seems like it might be a time for rope, assuming Kyra's arrows do not succeed. Allow me to know when you have posted, @Ryonara, that way Brannor may add in as well based upon that outcome. I presume @Norschtalen will try their hand at it too soon enough based upon that.

Just in case it went missed, there is a set of stairs going down to the area with the eggs. It is just caged off, though there also is a key right up there against the wall opposite of said stairs. Mentioning since possible usage of rope was brought up so that you know your options.

Admittedly I am expecting a trap due to those prior and all the kobolds but I would not be opposed to someone testing said key, @Hekazu. Someone with actual talent at investigating and searching, that is. The prior room with chest and dead kobold seems like some sort of elaborate trap as well but perhaps I am being much too cautious.

Times like these I wished clerics had access to Mage hand. Anyways I rolled a 12 for my longbow attack and 7 for damage.

I have no talents for investigation, but I've a decent perception modifier. Otherwise I think I'll have Orchid hold a javelin and keep an eye out for any danger first and foremost. He's not really good at this ranged stuff.
