@Majoras End Hides have two forms. The first one is kind of Shadowy monster. They are physical, but more akin to 'fog' or 'shadow'. If they bleed. Kind of Ghostly more than fleshy.

But when they manage to get to form two, depending on what Folklore monster they change into, yes they can bleed. Like if one become a Kelpie, it's basically a Horse. You see what I mean?

Maybe if she can manipulate her own blood as a weapon it could work. And the Hyde's one, when it happens that they do take a form with inside them?

Hey, you have blood. Why worry about that of your enemies?

And I'm not alone in that line of thought. Actually did a magical girl with a similar set-up in the past. She definitely had a potential weakness in using too much of her blood to form weapons or attacks that it would make her too weak to keep fighting.

I was gonna have her fangs be her main weapon though, to draw out blood for her magic.

@Majoras End Yup, if it's her own blood most of the time, that'd make for a good weakness. And of course if an ally got wounded, she'd be able to use the blood they lost.

Weapons can be a physical feature the witch gains upon transforming (I had a magical girl in another RP whose "weapon" was a pair of crystal wings), so fangs are fine.

Well, I did figure out how to do thief stuff without being too dark/evil. And I'm back at not sure which route to take. And still have no clue what sort of magic to go with regardless of other tropes, honestly. Well, I can give things a bit of time. Or i could do something crazy like make both characters and run them as a pair of rivals, but I don't generally play multiple characters to begin with.

@Vega7285 You could start off with one and bring the other in at a later point, if you'd find that easiest! I personally like the sound of both concepts, but yep, there's plenty of time for you to choose. We'll keep a spot reserved for you :)

As for the magic, hmmm... A detective archetype could have an ability that lets them track down enemies/analyse weaknesses, or something along those lines. Maybe something involving a bullseye lantern, a light that was commonly used in investigation? So your character could have one she uses for light based attacks. Whereas a thief could be based on a sneaky animal like a cat or a fox, could have the typical shadow powers, or could be ghost-like as a play on the term "phantom thief". (That and there's taking inspiration from tricksters in mythology and folklore.)

I might just work on both characters and then PM them out or post them just to get some thoughts on them.

Those are some good suggestions on magic. I was definitely considering some sort of shadow-based stuff for the thief. Probably either some amount of manipulating shadows, or teleporting between them. I think for the detective type I had some thoughts of some sort of supernatural awareness. Not sure how best to do it, though one thought was a sort of ability to sense everything around her in a certain radius. Analyzing weaknesses is definitely a good one.

Okay so my concept might be a bit iffy, and if it is I totally understand

I was thinking something along the lines of tarot cards? She draws one and that's her power for the day? She would only start out with like 4-5 of them and none would be particularly powerful except like one or two (neither would be ones she has yet) and her trying to get them all could be a bit of a dub-plot/motivation for her to continue fighting... the card of the day would be chosen by gm or we would roll for it or smth,if? I'm just throwing it out there so I totally get if it's too much.
