Here, you can search a name and it'll give you a combination of kanji with different meanings. Dw you arent bugging, im happy to help :)

Heyo, so, I'm picking apart the good things about my last Naruto OC and revamp some stuff, and I wanna change their kekkei genkai (provided y'all are okay with custom kg in the first place). So before I obsess over kanji and motifs, lemme pitch it for clearance:

A dojutsu that is themed around vibrations. I think the power nicely suits Naruto's extreme power scaling: As long as we keep it in the early-ish, low-key range, it could serve to recognize vibrations in the air and earth, maybe even be able to sense chakra disturbances. Basically enhanced senses, maybe *some minor* (big maybe) precognition. Maybe a hiden developed around that ability for style. That sorta thing.

IIIIF this rp lives on long and we go into the "Hi, my name is Madara and I'm a real super saiyan" territory, then vibrations are obviously incredibly powerful and can be scaled up exactly to where they're needed to compete with any power bar the plain ol' "I've got god magic and you have no power here" bosses.

I'll wait for your thoughts. :)

Shunbin is a well-built young man-- not particularly tall, but with very toned muscles. His skin is a tad more tanned than most of the village, a light almond-like color. He has long, dark grey hair. The back is often gathered together in a ponytail, but the front is left messy, leaving two long bangs on either side of his face. Speaking of his face, it's quite sharp with a well-defined chin, though by no means gaunt. He has long fingers (a symptom of his Surudo heritage) and his left hand has an old, deep gash in it. It's not uncommon to see him with other, more temporary wounds as well.


⌈CLOTHING⌋
 Flowing • Beige and Crimson 
Shunbin's shinobi wear, from head to toe, is as follows. His forehead protector is crimson, and he ties it in such a way to create his distinctive ponytail. Around his neck he has an off-white scarf that pools around his shoulders and contains a few senbon. He wears a loose-fitting, low-cut beige uwagi with crimson highlights and long sleeves over a chainmail mesh shirt. He has an armband on each arm that also contain senbon. His fingers are pretty much constantly covered in bandages so that might as well be part of his outfit. His pants are black and reach to the knees.  Finally, he wears socks and birch-wood geta, steel-plated on the bottom.

His casual, every day clothing is quite simple. He wears a white, long sleeved v-neck shirt similar to his uwagi. Often he swaps out his scarf for a dark-red bandana worn around the neck if it's a hotter day. If he's out and about he'll wear sunglasses as well. For bottom wear, he has a baggy, dark-red pair of pants to match his bandana, and for shoes he just has a pair of brown sandals.

When he sleeps, Shunbin wears boxers. That's it.


⌈SUPPLY⌋
Shunbin much prefers senbon to kunai or shuriken. While he of course does carry a few kunai and shuriken, he carries many more senbon than the average shinobi, and most are larger than average to accentuate their deadliness even when not used to strike acupuncture points. A spool of steel wire-string is kept on his person as well for use with said thrown weapons. He is also always equipped with an odachi worn on his back. His scarf also contains holsters for senbon, and when pulled up over his mouth he can use them for surprise attacks without his hands. Finally, he has armbands that hold some senbon for quick use.

Shunbin is a fairly fun guy to hang around with, generally. He's witty and quick on the draw like most shinobi, and isn't afraid to let one know with sarcastic commentary, be you friend or foe. He doesn't often mean much by it though, as he's fairly easy-going. He doesn't hold grudges, doesn't make rivalries, and doesn't really get angry that much either. He has a very laid-back approach to things generally. Unless in a genuinely life threatening situation he'll be there to try and easy tensions with snarky quips. As such he's actually not a very good student. While he loves training and takes a great deal of enjoyment from exercise and physical activity, he doesn't much enjoy reading or writing material like shinobi history or stuff like that. And it is very hard to get him to do something he doesn't enjoy. He spends all the time he doesn't spend training eating, reading trashy novellas, or sleeping.

This picture of a lackadaisical teen is not without depth however. Deep down Shunbin is a genuinely empathetic young man who doesn't like the idea of people killing each other. Forced into a ninja life like most of the Surudo, a dissatisfaction gnaws at Shunbin whilst performing his ninja duties. The day he dreads in which he must kill someone else is approaching much quicker than he would like, as well. Still, he is not totally consumed by angst. While not much of a scholar, Shunbin is naturally curious about the world, especially other cultures. He also tries to be genuinely friendly to almost everyone he meets, even if they don't treat him as well as he does them.


⌈NINDŌ⌋
The propagation of Kusagakure and Surudo's cultures.
 Shunbin understands how close to the precipice both Surudo and Kusagakure as a whole have come in being wiped from the tapestry from history, or being fully integrated into another society. The Surudo's art of combat, the Kusagakure way of life, the shops and restaurants he's patronized... Shunbin understands that without protection, it could all be erased. Even if Shunbin doesn't find fulfillment in risking his life to protect others, he knows that right now Kusagakure needs protection if he wants it to stay free, so he fights.


⌈MOTIVATIONS⌋
Obligation
Shunbin is a ninja purely out of obligations he feels. An obligation to his family first and foremost, to foster and demonstrate his strength in defense of their home. This obligation, he feels, also extends to all citizens of Kusagakure. He is an able-bodied, strong, naturally gifted fighter. In these tumultuous times, one more warrior could be the thing that stops a war, or at least ensures Kusagakure survives it. 


⌈NARRATIVE⌋
Like all current shinobi, Shunbin lived through the Second Shinobi War. Before the age of six, Shunbin experienced the fairly standard life of the Komin with his mother and father. There is not much to note here besides the forming of a friendship with another clan member, Asuka. Life was simple, and Shunbin spent in running around with Asuka. Things changed for everyone when the Second Shinobi War started, however. Those few of the Surudo clan who weren't drafted volunteered anyways: Asuka and Shunbin's parents included. The brutal six years stretched on for much of the kids young lives. Instead of playing games, the two now trained in the blade-- how Shunbin got the signature scar on his hand. In such trying times, Shunbin burnt out, creating the ash shell of sarcastic, almost nihilistic disregard he's known for. Still, this is when Shunbin discovered he did still enjoy exercise even if it was preparing for the eventuality of war. Asuka too grew from a sunny-warm child to a flaming ball of determination.

News came in first of Shunbin's parents. Both of them were crippled permanently, no longer able to fight, not in this war and not ever. For a Surudo member, this was almost worse than death. The pain he could see in both of them every day, and the pain he felt for them was indescribable. News of Asuka's parents came later. Neither would be coming home. This is what finally drew him over the line. Training with Shunbin was now personal. Whenever Shunbin 'won,' Asuka was infuriated and dejected. The two grew apart as arguments became common and toxic. Eventually they split into completely different cliques with the local child population, and never spoke again. Despite this, Shunbin kept up his training, alone.

Once Kusagakure's part in the war formally ended, the tournament of succession to determine the Saikyo. Despite her instance, Shunbin's father went against his mother's wishes and entered into the tourney despite his disfigured left half. He was the very first to lose-- to a sixteen year-old at that. For days he wouldn't speak except to mention the pity he saw on the boy's face when he won. Shunbin's father took his life shortly after, full of shame and hatred for his handicap. While the adults in the clan were respectful, as those of Shunbin's blood were often Saikyo, Shunbin occasionally heard the whispers of those his age about the coward who killed himself after such a thorough defeat. During this time Shunbin threw himself into his training as a distraction. To such a degree, even, it would not be uncommon for him to barely eat and pass-out.

After the reestablishment of the ninja academy, Shunbin was instantly enrolled by his mother. Their relationship was terse and rocky at this point, but Shunbin loved her, and the village. He reluctantly accepted this without comment, and with his time in the academy, began to felt like he needed to become a ninja for the sake of others. His academic career was a bit spotty, as he was second best in his class at taijutsu, but started fairly mediocre at everything else. He has run into Asuka a few times in the academy, but has never spoken to him again, unable to find the words to say to bury the hatchet. As of now he's a genin well on the way to chunin, much to his chagrin.

 Shurikenjutsu
 Like most of the Surudo clan, Shunbin is best at the use of shuriken, kunai, and senbon. His aim is great, and his strength means these wounds go deep. The manipulation of thrown weapons in flight with wire-string is also something he's very good at, and often he devises traps with them to conceal his thrown weaponry, trip, disarm, or otherwise impede an enemy's ability to protect themselves. 


⌈SECONDARY⌋
 Raiton jutsu 
 Shunbin's natural affinity is for lightning chakra, and he's quite good at using it. While he does know some lightning release jutsu, and does have the handseals for them down pat and all that, he often burns through more chakra than he intends. The techniques are powerful, but taxing and often imprecise. Instead he focuses more on channeling his lightning chakra through his weapons (his odachi, shuriken and wire-strings) to enhance his bukijutsu.


⌈TERTIARY⌋
 Kenjutsu 
 Finally, Shunbin is pretty average in the department of swordplay. He's not doing the family proud in this department as he focuses much more shurikenjutsu and working towards getting his chakra under control, but he does know how to use a sword when worse comes to worse. He tries to keep enemies away with walls of projectiles generally, but if for some reason he is unable, his great strength allows him use of his odachi to perform this task. Powerful and still quite ranged attacks can come from him when using the blade, but his maneuverability takes a great hit when having to lug around such mass.

Shunbin also uses them as claw-type weapons.

The blades size gives it massive reach and power, but at the cost of reduced maneuverability. This has many uses, such as rebounding a strike that the enemy thought they had dodged, setting trip wires up on the fly, or swerving a shuriken so it can cover more angles. However, if the opponent is particularly observant, they can cut these strings and hamper the use of this jutsu.

A cone of kunai, senbon or shuriken are thrown at the enemy simultaneously. Hidden in this shower are two blades attached by a wire-string. These have two main uses. Firstly, one can intentionally aim those two to hit a parallel surface to create a hard-to-see tripwire almost instantaneously, and hide its creation from the enemy. Secondly, one could set the string to collide with the foe while the blades fly past. The enemy in this case acts as a sort of pole that the string will wrap around as the blades trajectory changes by the string getting stopped, tying the foe up. If these special shuriken are thrown in front of the rest of the blades, it would be very hard to dodge, Thrown behind, and the opponent will be caught off-guard when they think they're safe. Unfortunately, this technique is relatively useless against opponents with a dojutsu that increases their perception, and even then foes worth their salt would never fall for a trick like this twice.

Hyaku-Kunai, Hyaku-Sen Kabe

Afterwards, the user can thrust both fingers forwards at a target to send a bolt of lightening at them. This is the most basic of lightening release jutsu that actually casts the user's chakra at an enemy, and as such is built on for a lot of other jutsu. It doesn't do too much damage, and the range is generally about 100 meters, but more chakra can be expended for longer range and more damage, and the electricity can force weaker opponents muscles to contract, effectively stunning them.

The user spins in a circle, unleashing a flurry of kunai in all directions. Unbeknownst to the enemy, many of the kunai are connected by a wire-string. If assisted by trees or in an otherwise tight space, the user can create a wall of wire-strings that can help deflect techniques or impede forwards movement. Without surfaces to stick the kunai to, however, and the technique becomes a bit of a waste of wire-string.

I don't think this will be an issue, but I figured I'd give you guys a heads up. I'm making a falconer character. Kinda like Kiba, but with a bird as a partner instead of a dog. So, I'll be including descriptions of his falcon alongside his own descriptions. So, the cosmetic and personality sections will have bits about the bird in addition to the character. If there are any modifications I should make to the profile to incorporate a companion animal, let me know.

Also, I'm thinking that would make his specialty collaboration jutsu, but I'm not 100% sure. Ninken refers specifically to dogs, so I don't know if there's a term for it.

I don't think this will be an issue, but I figured I'd give you guys a heads up. I'm making a falconer character. Kinda like Kiba, but with a bird as a partner instead of a dog. So, I'll be including descriptions of his falcon alongside his own descriptions. So, the cosmetic and personality sections will have bits about the bird in addition to the character. If there are any modifications I should make to the profile to incorporate a companion animal, let me know.

Also, I'm thinking that would make his specialty collaboration jutsu, but I'm not 100% sure. Ninken refers specifically to dogs, so I don't know if there's a term for it.@Relin

Oddly enough, there isn't even a Japanese word for "falconry." It's just "Hawk Hunting" haha. Think I'll just go with nintaka since it's the best word I can think of.

Lean and light on his feet, Ryouzan carries an air of calmness about him wherever he goes. His default expression is a gentle smile and he walks with a smooth, relaxed gait. He keeps his hair neatly trimmed, though he doesn't put too much effort into styling it. After all, it's likely to be messed up on his next mission anyway. While many members of the Tanzou clan have "hawk-like" feature's, Ryouzan's are less pronounced. He has a small nose with a slightly rounded chin, and his red eyes have gentle curves to them. Because of his calm demeanor and gentle features, he has earned the nickname Tanzou no Hato (The dove of Tanzou).

Then, there is his partner, Tsumemaru. Tsumemaru is a peregrine falcon with a body length of 50cm and a wingspan of 121cm. He weighs 1.5kg and has a speckled black and tan plumage. His beak is bright yellow and his head is a strikingly dark shade of black. When he is not carrying out a task for Ryouzan, he can be found perched on his partner's shoulder, standing upright and watching anyone who approaches vigilantly.


⌈CLOTHING⌋

Shinobi Wear - Ryouzan relies on quick movements, so his typical battle wear consists of a light vest over fishnet undergarments. His black vest contains various pockets where he keeps his shinobi tools. He also wears loose-fitting black pants and basic sandals. On his right arm, he wears a falconer's glove. This is a thick leather gauntlet that extends all the way up his shoulder, protecting him from Tsumemaru's talons as he perches. The glove is also lined with pockets containing kunai so that Tsumemaru can grab them as he takes flight. 

Casual Wear - Ryouzan tends to wear more when he isn't about to plunge into a life or death struggle. He has a thicker black vest that looks a bit more fashionable, and wears an undershirt with a stylish black design. He keeps his loose fitting pants and sandals for comfort, but he'll often adorn himself with a red sash or scarf. He says it's to keep the wind out of his face, but he just enjoys having something billowing behind him majestically. He has a lighter falconer glove with only one emergency kunai in it, but Tsumemaru still needs a place to perch. 

Sleep Wear - Ryouzan sleeps in a red silk robe. His right arm is wrapped in a bandage when he removes his falconer glove in case he needs to take off with Tsumemaru in an emergency. 


⌈SUPPLY⌋
 Ryouzan carries with him a shrill whistle, used for communicating with Tsumemaru over long distances where gestures cannot be seen. He also carries a spool of thin razor wire, three-pronged hooks, and tags that look like explosive tags but shoot out bursts of wind instead. The only sentimental heirlooms he carries are a set of feathers from his deceased mother and siblings. They are feathers plucked from their falcons and fashioned into keepsakes after their death. A Tanzou falcon loses its will to live when its partner dies, so a shinobi is buried with their falcon and a feather is plucked to represent their spirit.

Ryouzan generally maintains a calm demeanor, even in stressful situations. He's very slow to anger, and is unlikely to be openly hostile or antagonistic towards any of his fellow Kusagakure shinobi. Rather than hearty laughter he'll give a serene smile, and rather than expressing annoyance he'll quietly furrow his brow. He's eager to help his friends and companions, and those that consider him a friend will attest to his loyalty. He upholds proper manners and carries himself with dignity, not just to protect the honor of his family name, but out of respect for his fellow man. His calm demeanor is not to be mistaken for lack of passion, though. When he sets his mind to accomplish something, he is tenacious to a fault. He doesn't believe in giving up, and if he sees anyone doing so, he'll simply reply, "I guess you didn't really want it to begin with."  

Tsumemaru, on the other hand, is like a smoldering flame ready to lash out at a moment's notice. Always vigilant, the falcon is acutely aware of all who would approach his partner, and makes it known he is aware. Any unfamiliar faces are greeted with a screech and an aggressive fluttering of wings. People often joke about how such a calm shinobi got paired with such a paranoid bird. However, Tsumemaru is disciplined, and would never act out without Ryouzan's okay. Just don't try to pet him. He WILL bite.

Fearful • Insecure • Desperate
The placid front that Ryouzan displays hides the churning and often chaotic currents that flow beneath it. The Second Shinobi War took its toll on the Tanzou clan, and Ryouzan had to cope with the loss of numerous loved ones at a young age. The reality that death can come at an instant is deeply ingrained into him, and so he often fears losing even more friends and family. At the same time, as a mere genin he feels as though he lacks the power to protect what he loves. The determination and diligence that his comrades and teachers see is at least in part due to Ryouzan's feelings of insufficiency. When he is alone, he will often meditate, trying to control his fears and negativity, knowing that he needs to become strong enough to carry such burdens.

The bond between a falconer and a falcon is deep, and as such, Tsumemaru senses the turbulence within Ryouzan. The falcon's paranoia stems from a sense of protectiveness and unconditional love for his partner. He sees strangers as yet another potential burden for his partner, however, those that get close to Ryouzan will sometimes see a gentler side to the bird. Even then, don't try to pet him. He WILL bite. That right is reserved solely for Ryouzan. 


⌈NINDŌ⌋
Never let go
A simple phrase passed down among the Tanzou with a meaning deeply rooted in their falconry. The phrase invokes the image of a falcon gripping onto its prey, but also its gentle grip on a falconer's arm. Thus, the nindo represents both determination in battle and loyalty to family. Ryouzan uses this nindo to channel the negative emotions within him into positive actions. Thus his fear of loss is transformed into undying loyalty to his companions and an unyielding spirit in battle.


⌈MOTIVATIONS⌋
Protect
Ryouzan cares little for fame and recognition, and openly states that he would never accept the position of Kage. Ryouzan fights for the safety of his family, his friends, and for Kusagakure as a whole. He's willing to shed his blood for the peace that follows battle. He finds the idea of serving in Anbu appealing, as he feels he can do the most good from that position. However, he knows that this is a long way off, and for now, attaining the rank of Chuunin is what his mind should be on.


⌈NARRATIVE⌋
Members of the Tanzou clan are paired with falcons from birth. Generations of secret breeding techniques have yielded falcons that grow and age at the same rate that humans do. So, Ryouzan's earliest memories are those of his mother, and of Tsumemaru. Ryouzan could call and hold his falcon before he could walk, and the two never spent a day of their lives apart. Ryouzan had little trouble getting along with other children even if Tsumemaru was a bit of a troublemaker among the other falcons. Life was peaceful and prosperous for Ryouzan, until the second Shinobi war broke out. 

He was still just a child and far to young to be sent into battle, but even at that young age, Ryouzan noticed a shift in his daily training and lessons. They became more "practical," which really meant that they were now teaching him how to kill. And while Tanzou was safe from war, his parents and older siblings were not. The Tanzou skill-set made them well-equipped for scouting and recon missions. They were the ones plunging into unknown enemy territory and gathering information to make other missions possible. Ryouzan thought it was the coolest job in the world and couldn't wait until he was old enough... until his oldest brother's body was brought back from a mission.

His brother's funeral was a turning point in Ryouzan's life. A hero he looked up to now lay cold and dead before him. His brother's falcon, who had always been playful and energetic, now perched on the corpse like a statue, no joy, life, or any discernible emotion left in its eyes. They put the falcon down just before the burial, and Ryouzan burst into tears, clutching the feather to his chest. This wouldn't be the last time Ryouzan saw family die. His other older brother and his older sister both died in the war. Then finally, during what would become the last battle of the war, he lost his mother. 

Ryouzan's father did his best to hold the family together. As head of the clan he had a responsibility to keep things moving forward, but he was still human. On quiet nights, Ryouzan could hear his father, crying in his room alone. Ryouzan knew that he and Tsumemaru would have to do their part as well to carry the clan through these difficult times. He still had one younger brother to protect, and a whole village he needed to help rebuild. From then on, Ryouzan took responsibilities onto himself and practiced his falconry diligently, making his father proud. Where once he was the admirer, he now had a little brother that looked up to him, and he kept a good reputation among his shinobi peers.

Kusagakure is his home, and he will protect it.

The core of Ryouzan's, and every Tanzou's, combat prowess is his falconry. Ryouzan has trained with Tsumemaru from birth, and can link his chakra with his falcon's to perform various techniques. He can communicate with Tsumemaru using subtle gestures. Even if an enemy shinobi notices the gestures, they would be undecipherable. Each falconer develops a sort of short hand with their falcons, so even other members of the Tanzou clan would have difficulty reading Ryouzan's communications. He also has a whistle that he can use to communicate when he is out of sight or at too great a distance to use gestures. His falconry skills are three-fold. He has skills that enhance his vision and movement, which are good for reconnaissance. He utilizes collaboration techniques with Tsumemaru to unleash powerful jutsu in combat. And, he has various fighting techniques specifically catered to coordinate fighting with a falcon.

Fuuton Jutsu
Members of the Tanzou clan tend to have affinities for wind chakra. Ryouzan uses the element as a supplement to his falconry. Wind affinity allows for quick movement during reconnaissance and for disorientating attacks during battle. He also uses wind chakra to enhance his attacks. However, he does not rely on raw elemental power to carry him in combat.

Taijutsu
Ryozan's Taijutsu, the tsume-ken, is another means of supplementing his falconry. Essentially, for those instances where he gets in close and needs to go for the kill, he has a set of practical techniques for taking down his opponent. He will not be winning any martial arts competitions, but he can hold his own until he coordinates with Tsumemaru for a new attack.

Ryouzan's falconer glove has a compartment that holds the spool in place, and much like a fishing reel, he can determine if it pulls freely or locks. Tsumemaru has a tiny bangle on his leg that can hold this wire. Ryouzan can attach and release it, or Tsumemaru is trained to attach and release it himself. Likewise, the apparatus in his gauntlet can cut off a length of wire if Ryouzan wants to release it on his end. The wire is, as its name suggests, razor sharp and can easily cut through flesh. The chakra channeling makes the wire extra strong and allows for fine control of the wire, and also allows it to be used to execute certain jutsus. Tsumemaru and Ryouzan can coordinate their movements to strategically manipulate the movements of the wire. The weakness is that this weapon is not particularly effective in closed in areas, or dense terrain with numerous obstacles; the wire is likely to get caught.

The Three Pronged hooks resemble large fishing hooks and are about the size of a kunai. The hooks fold in for storage, but lock into place once they are pulled out for battle. These hooks can be used in tandem with the razor wire, or can be utilized on their own. The are an unorthodox weapon and require coordination and setup to utilize effectively. Simply throwing one at the enemy will have little effect, so the barbs must be made to dig into the enemy, either by a flyby or a crafty use of razor wire.

Gale Tags resemble explosive tags, but shoot out a burst of wind instead of an explosion. They can be triggered at will by Ryouzan and can be attached to a weapon like a shuriken or kunai for a burst of speed, or can be left strategically on the environment. When grappling a limb, his grip strength is enough to break bone. If he gets his hands on his opponent's throat, it can be lethal. This is strictly a short range grappling technique and its efficacy is limited by one's own proficiency in taijutsu.

While in this state, Ryouzan is oblivious to his surroundings, so it his best to use it with a spotter. His current range limit to this technique is 2 miles.

Ryouzan links his chakra with Tsumemaru and channels wind chakra into them both. While in motion, the air swirls around each of them in small, but violent cyclones. Impact with an enemy results in destructive force. The faster they are moving, the more powerful their cyclones are, and since their chakra is linked, their cyclones are identical in nature. For example, if Tsumemaru is moving fast, but Ryouzan is standing still, wind will swirl around them both at a moderate level. This technique requires motion, otherwise it is ineffective.

While not a weapon, Ryouzan can use his whistle to perform the falcon screech. He channels his chakra into the whistle and lets out a piercing note that can deafen and disorientate enemies within earshot. The downside is that this effects allies as well if they are unprepared. As a courtesy, Ryouzan typically carries earplugs with him and gives them to his teammates in case he needs to use this technique.

If it does not finish his enemy, he'd better pray backup is on the way.

Suzuki is not easy to lose in a crowd, with her tall frame and a head of thick, curly hair loosely bound by a white ribbon. Her almond eyes burn with a bright blue intensity as many of her clansmen do, and freckles mark the whole of her nimble body. Suzuki is known to wear a stoic expression most of the time, which makes the volume and energy in her voice all the more shocking.

Style in simplicity • Orange + Brown
During missions Suzuki dresses in a dark orange knee length kimono bound by a black obi, with thin chainmail mesh and simple brown leggings underneath. Her civilian clothes are similar to her shinobi robes, consisting of a longer kimono and a floral patterned obi. When Suzuki is helping around the Kusa Shrine, she wears a white kosode robe and bright orange hakama trousers. She wears a striped brown yukata to bed.

Suzuki keeps a tattered omamori with floral patterns on her person, a gift given by her sister to provide protection against evil in all its physical and spiritual forms. Suzuki also has a small string of wooden prayer beads with her at all times, and can be seen holding them when she feels particularly distressed. In terms of ninja equipment she keeps a set of paper tags reminiscent of ofuda talismans, which are inscribed with fūinjutsu formulas that are used for different supplementary purposes.

Suzuki exudes an air of intensity everywhere she goes and in everything she does, a trait some may find commendable or excessive. As intimidating as her fiercely polite and blunt tone of voice seems, Suzuki is a very caring and earnest girl who only has good intentions for those she cares for, however critical she comes across. Her passion is fuelled by her dedication to the village and the ones she holds dear, and she strives to help and protect the vulnerable when she can. As the heiress to the Shishido clan, Suzuki hopes that the passion she puts into her work will inspire and encourage others to improve for the betterment of themselves and the village.

Though her love and loyalty for the village is absolute, adversaries outside of the village have none of her sympathy. An enemy of Kusagakure is an enemy of Suzuki; she has no space in her heart for anyone who threatens her home and its people. Sometimes her temper sways and her ruthless hatred for these outsiders seeps out, which the higher ups in the Shishido clan, considering their reputation, are concerned by. But these concerns do not fall upon deaf ears; Suzuki is aware of what they're saying about her, and sometimes it hurts to know that some of the Shishido are doubtful of her. It hurts to know that she will never surpass her sister's prestige, or that she'll fail to meet her clan's expectations. While Suzuki has managed to keep these insecurities locked away for quite some time, the cracks in her esteem have become more visible in recent years. Should the wrong person catch sight of these cracks, taking advantage of her loyalty becomes a much easier task. But for now, Suzuki will hold her head high in the face of adversity and fight for what she believes in.

Since the death of her sister, Suzuki's loyalty and protectiveness for the village has intensified. She has very little sympathy for her opponents, and her nindo reflects her determination to annihilate all that pose a threat to her precious home. Any enemy to her home is evil, and all evil must be destroyed.

Loyalty
To fight for Kusagakure and protect the people is the greatest honour for Suzuki. Decades ago the village took her clan in during their time of need, and now the Shishido and the village need each other more than ever after recent events. It is here where Suzuki was born, raised, educated and trained, and it is the welfare of Kusagakure that motivates Suzuki to train her herself to the extremes. Even if it costs her an arm or a leg she will do anything for the sake of the village and her clan, and god forbid anyone dares to stop her from doing so.


⌈NARRATIVE⌋
Suzuki’s life has been one of turbulent changes. As her mother’s second child she was prohibited from inheriting the clan leader position in her lifetime, and though her relatives showed her much love it was clear that her older sister was of higher priority to them. While her sister Kotoko was able to make time for Suzuki between her exhausting studies and training sessions, her mother was not so fortunate. It was her aunt, Shishido Tsuri, who filled the absence her mother left and gave her the attention she craved instead, which even makes itself obvious to this day. But this was more than enough for Suzuki to keep on going, because as long as she had the affection of her beloved sister, she was happy. The young Kotoko’s ambition, grace and intellect impressed the Shishido clansmen and even more so for Suzuki, who admired Kotoko the most. However, even from a young age Suzuki saw in Kotoko everything she wasn’t; she was a lot clumsier and hot-headed, and reflected none of the sophistication Kotoko had at her age. Yet Suzuki turned a blind eye to these faults. What did she matter in the grand scheme of things, when she could never have her family's recognition anyway?

The Second Shinobi War changed everything for Suzuki. The first few years were suitably chaotic but manageable, and Kotoko insisted on fighting for the village upon graduation despite resistance from her mother. Suzuki, who had been raised to see these kinds of actions as the greatest honour, was nothing but ecstatic for her sister’s decision. From then Suzuki sought to improve herself so that she could one day catch up to her sister and join her on the battlefield. But this day never came, as the last year of the war ripped Kotoko’s life away, and with it Suzuki’s hope. Even her grandmother and beloved aunt sustained permanent injuries, as did the whole Shishido clan after losing a quarter of their already limited members. The look in Suzuki’s eyes were never the same after that.

Suzuki’s mother now had another tonne of responsibilities on her back after being made the new Shishido clan head. This included pushing Kotoko’s training regimens onto Suzuki, who was now the legitimate heiress to the clan. While Suzuki was determined to strengthen herself, the stress was clearly starting to change her. And though she thought the newfound time with her mother would close the rift between them, Sen’s trauma and stress made her more hostile towards Suzuki as she rushed to get her to Kotoko’s level. Yet as she sought her aunt for comfort, Suzuki didn’t despise her mother for her actions; she knew that everyone’s pain and suffering was a result of the war, and from her devastation a burning hatred for anyone the village called an enemy rose. Suzuki vowed to do anything for the prosperity of the village and her people, and swore that she would see the evil doers beyond the village gates perish.

Recently things have started to improve amongst Suzuki and the Shishido. She is helping to rebuild the clan after it suffered heavily from the war, and the tensions between her and her mother are starting to ease as she continues to mature. Years of intensive training has whipped Suzuki into shape, and her growing strength is starting to gain recognition amongst the high ranking Shishido clansmen. However, whispers of her ‘contentious’ outlook on things have started to worry some of these clansmen, and questions of the rationale behind her inheritance have been raised. But as a member of the Kuge class Suzuki recognises the importance of being the upcoming face of the Shishido, and she is determined to strengthen herself to uphold the clan’s honour.

Unlike most of her peers, Suzuki's fighting style is mainly defensive. The Shishido are genjutsu specialists, and she is no exception. Her clan uses sound, specifically the ringing from bells, to cast their techniques. Due to her excellent chakra control, Suzuki has learned how to amplify the sound of her bells to widen her casting range. Although her chakra reserves rank below average, her subtle and extremely convincing illusions make up for it.

Fūinjutsu
With her knowledge of sealing and enclosing techniques, Suzuki's fūinjutsu style has both offensive and supplementary purposes; she keeps her kagura suzu and bow and arrows sealed into small paper tags for easy storage and access, and keeps a number of tags containing small amounts of her chakra to replenish her own or other’s reserves. Her combat related tags have fire sealed inside of them, which upon activation releases flames upon a target.

In relation to her less physical combat style, Suzuki often makes use of barrier ninjutsu techniques. Her range for these sorts of techniques aren't as wide as her genjutsu, and she only uses barriers to protect herself and her peers rather than to trap opponents. ▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔Traditionally used for kagura dances, this instrument is used by the Shishido to activate their sound-based genjutsu techniques. The twelve bells on the instrument are made from a unique metal that can be infused with chakra, and allows the sound of the bells to be amplified and extend a technique’s range. But if one is able to block out the ringing of Suzuki’s bells, the most integral part of Suzuki’s fighting style falls apart. Take away or destroy the bells and she has nothing much to fight with.

These tags share a similar appearance to ofuda talismans, and are used to store different objects inside, of which Suzuki carries twenty in total. Suzuki’s two ‘storing tags’ have her bells and bow and arrows sealed separately to allow for easy storage and access during missions. Her eight ‘replenishing tags’ each contain 1/8th of her chakra reserves, and can be used when her or her peers’ chakra runs low, while her five ‘draining tags’ can be used to slowly drain a similar amount of the opponent’s chakra. Suzuki’s remaining ‘burning tags’ have man made fire sealed inside before missions, which ignite into a small flame upon the object it is placed on. Suzuki’s combat-based tags require stealth and speed to place on her targets, since they are easily removable and doing so will negate their effects.-

While Suzuki rarely uses her bow it is a requirement as a Shishido ninja to know how to use and carry one with her. The bow is reminiscent of a daikyū, which due to its size makes it totally ineffective in close quarters.

Her barrier can take about three good physical hits, but against a C-rank ninjutsu attack it can just barely withstand one. When broken the dome shatters. Due to its small size there is a very limited amount of people Suzuki can keep and protect within the barrier.

The target’s surroundings rapidly become engulfed in flames, which encourages them to escape far away from the area. This illusion is useful for distracting enemies, but can only work in areas where flammable objects are present (e.g forests, fields, urban settlements) to remain believable. SPECIALITY

The Shishido clan have some of the best genjutsu specialists within the village, due to their less physical approach to combat and inherent proficiency for chakra control. Many Shishido ninja go on to specialise in medical ninjutsu as well, which is something the clan is particularly proud of. They are also known to use barrier ninjutsu in order to reduce as many casualties on the field, but during missions where the killing of their enemies is necessary, Shishido ninja are trained to use a bow and arrow to ensure death from a distance.

Although ninjutsu is very rarely used, many Shishido ninja have an affinity for the fire element.

LEGACY

Since their settlement in the village the Shishido have always kept the welfare of the people as a high priority, offering medical services and charity where needed. Amongst their acquaintances in the kuge class the Shishido are respected for their genjutsu and medical expertise, but amongst their adversaries they are scoffed for their much softer and manipulative approach to fighting. Their influence on Kusagakure is undeniable, however; they established the first local hospital where the sick can be housed, and a few years following their arrival they rebuilt the village shrine after it had been left in ruins after the Warring States Period. Though their clan has been cut by half from the two shinobi wars, when the people are in need of aid, they can trust the Shishido to act fast.


VALUES

Due to their occupations as carers and supporters the Shishido greatly value kindness, fortitude and the strength of the mind and heart. But above all else they value loyalty, whether it is to their clan or to their village. The Shishido remain ever grateful to Kusagakure for taking them into their walls decades ago, and since then they have gone above and beyond to do what they can to protect the village and its civilians. But even when faced with foreign enemies, the Shishido remain steadfast and respectful to display their honour. However, there are some whose loyalties to the Shishido and Kusa have fallen out of balance; if it's for the welfare of the village, disregarding a few clan values doesn't seem so regrettable.


TRADITIONS

» Not all Shishido become ninja, with a majority of clansmen actually going on to become medical professionals or caretakers of the village shrine. However, it is required of all members to have basic medical knowledge, as well as a year’s worth of experience working at the shrine over the course of one’s lifetime.

» Within the Shishido’s main family, only the eldest daughter of the clan head may inherit the position when their mother steps down or dies. Although most of the powerful positions in the clan are held by women, it is not unheard of to have men among these ranks too.

» After a Shishido clansmen dies, the body is cremated and a bonfire is held at the village shrine in their respect. A kagura dance is performed by shrine maidens around the fire, which allegedly helps them safely pass on to the other world. The ceremony is open only to members of the Shishido clan, even if friends of the deceased outside the clan wish to attend.

» In honour of the clan’s founder Isuzu, the Shishido throw a large yearly celebration at the village shrine on her birthday. In the evening two selected shrine maidens wear lion masks as they perform a shishi kagura dance, which is believed to protect people from evil spirits and ill omens. Although it was originally intended for only clansmen to view, the celebration has since been open for all to attend.

HEIRLOOMS

Every time a new clan head is appointed, the rosary necklace once worn by the clan founder is given to them. The beads are quite large and made of a sturdy wood, and it is widely speculated that the spirit of Shishido Isuzu has kept it from breaking after all these years. However, it has shown a bit of wear in recent years.

ORGANIZATION

The Shishido are a matriarchal clan, so only females born from the main bloodline can be legitimate successors. Members of the clan's inner council are referred to as 'bells' or 'suzu'; there are twelve suzu in total, with the first, second and third suzu positions saved for the clan head and her two advisors. The other nine positions are for representatives from professions the Shishido have influence over. This includes war councillors, tasked with teaching the ninja arts and clan techniques to shinobi in training; medical councillors, tasked with overseeing medical practices and training in the village hospital; and shrine councillors, tasked with maintaining the village shrine and ceremonies both public and private to the clan. These positions are determined by experience and merit, so much of the Shishido council are senior members of the clan.

CREATION

Nearing the end of the Warring States Period when the fighting was at its strongest, a priestess of just nineteen named Shishido Isuzu found herself lost and alone in a forest south of the Land of Fire. Her village, caught in the crossfire of two warring clans, had been trampled into the dirt. The nearby ninja temple, the sworn protector of the village and the place she had once called home, had gone up in flames. Guilt overcame Isuzu, having been the only one to escape in all the confusion despite her pledge to protect her fellow villagers. But she quickly realised that grieving over her mistakes would not change anything; even amidst all the terror and bloodshed, Isuzu swore to herself that she wouldn’t let something like that happen again.

Isuzu was knowledgeable in the ninja arts, and she made it her duty to protect those who couldn’t protect themselves using these skills. As she wandered through the country she healed the weak and fought for the vulnerable, and by the end of the Warring States Period, many flocked to the abandoned shrine she used as a place of healing out of gratitude or out of influence from her kindness and courage. Isuzu’s recognition eventually drew in more enemies that sought to use her talents for their own benefits, but she made sure her people were prepared to fight this time. Her followers were required to have basic medical knowledge, and those that showed potential for controlling chakra had Isuzu’s techniques passed down to them.

Isuzu died a peaceful death surrounded by her followers and her successor, her daughter Koto, formally established the community as the Shishido clan. Although she led the Shishido as well as her mother had, Koto’s time as the clan leader saw much suffering and violence. Skirmishes between remaining enemies became more frequent around their land and soon the Shishido were forced to flee their home, a scene all too familiar to them. Months of travel led them to the recently formed Kusagakure, and in an attempt to end her clan’s struggle Koto offered the Shishido’s medical expertise to the villagers in exchange for settlement within the village. Over time their loyal services to Kusa during and after wartimes have earned the Shishido a high standing amongst fellow shinobi families, and though they have lost many clansmen to war they remain dedicated to their duties on and off the battlefield.


PRESENTLY

Five generations of the main Shishido bloodline are currently living under one roof, including the official founder’s granddaughter Shishido Biwa, who has lived into her hundreds. Her eldest daughter Sasara and eldest granddaughter Ichi serve as the clan’s elders, while Biwa’s eldest great granddaughter Sen is the official face of the Shishido. Although the clan claims to be advocates for peace, tensions have started to arise within the Shishido council over the future of their people, and whether ‘bolder’ measures should be taken in order to keep the clan and the village safe. The elder war veterans in the council have seen nothing good come out of the past two wars, and as such want to keep their peaceful ways. Some of the younger council members believe a change in their clan traditions is needed to reduce further losses to the clan, fearing that another war will devastate the clan beyond repair. Kagura suzu - - - - - - Shishido sealing tags - - - - - - - - - Bow _{^{▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔}}	Traditionally used for kagura dances, this instrument is used by the Shishido to activate their sound-based genjutsu techniques. The twelve bells on the instrument are made from a unique metal that can be infused with chakra, and allows the sound of the bells to be amplified and extend a technique’s range. But if one is able to block out the ringing of Suzuki’s bells, the most integral part of Suzuki’s fighting style falls apart. Take away or destroy the bells and she has nothing much to fight with. - These tags share a similar appearance to ofuda talismans, and are used to store different objects inside, of which Suzuki carries twenty in total. Suzuki’s two ‘storing tags’ have her bells and bow and arrows sealed separately to allow for easy storage and access during missions. Her eight ‘replenishing tags’ each contain 1/8th of her chakra reserves, and can be used when her or her peers’ chakra runs low, while her five ‘draining tags’ can be used to slowly drain a similar amount of the opponent’s chakra. Suzuki’s remaining ‘burning tags’ have man made fire sealed inside before missions, which ignite into a small flame upon the object it is placed on. Suzuki’s combat-based tags require stealth and speed to place on her targets, since they are easily removable and doing so will negate their effects.- While Suzuki rarely uses her bow it is a requirement as a Shishido ninja to know how to use and carry one with her. The bow is reminiscent of a daikyū, which due to its size makes it totally ineffective in close quarters.

Her barrier can take about three good physical hits, but against a C-rank ninjutsu attack it can just barely withstand one. When broken the dome shatters. Due to its small size there is a very limited amount of people Suzuki can keep and protect within the barrier. - The target’s surroundings rapidly become engulfed in flames, which encourages them to escape far away from the area. This illusion is useful for distracting enemies, but can only work in areas where flammable objects are present (e.g forests, fields, urban settlements) to remain believable. Like most genjutsu the illusion can be cancelled by disrupting one’s chakra flow or having pain inflicted on them. As this technique is sound based, blocking out the ringing of Suzuki’s bells can prevent the technique from working at all. The vividness, duration and amount of people affected by the illusion is dependent on Suzuki’s chakra control and chakra reserves. By ringing her bells Suzuki produces a loud sound that causes a temporary strain on her target's brain. Depending on the strength of her genjutsu the target may experience a false sense of nausea or dizziness. 獅神楽・獅の齶 Lion God Dance: Lion’s Jaw - - - - - - - 獅神楽・獅の咆哮 Lion God Dance: Lion’s Roar _{^{▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔}}	The target sees a ball of fire circling around them, eventually forming a tall ring of fire. The ring gradually shrinks around them and they feel the temperature of their surroundings increase as it closes in. If the target is unable to disrupt the illusion on time, they will feel as if they are being burned alive. Like most genjutsu the illusion can be cancelled by disrupting one’s chakra flow or having pain inflicted on them. As this technique is sound based, blocking out the ringing of Suzuki’s bells can prevent the technique from working at all. The vividness, duration and amount of people affected by the illusion is dependent on Suzuki’s chakra control and chakra reserves. - The target sees large streams of fire hurtling towards them. They feel a painful burning sensation when a part of their body is hit by one of the streams, and if they are unable to disrupt the illusion on time, the ‘burns’ they sustain begin to spread all over their body until their whole skin is burned away. Like most genjutsu the illusion can be cancelled by disrupting one’s chakra flow or having pain inflicted on them. As this technique is sound based, blocking out the ringing of Suzuki’s bells can prevent the technique from working at all. 獅神楽・口寄せの術 Lion God Dance: Summoning Technique _{^{▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔}}	Suzuki creates the illusion of a horrific komainu summon that stands over two metres tall. Oftentimes it is used as a mere intimidation tactic. Suzuki may use her opponent’s fear either to force them to speak or force them to comply with her, often threatening to have them mauled by the komainu. If her targets are defiant, she orders her summon to attack them. Sometimes she will use her illusion to viciously ‘attack’ or ‘chase’ the target straight away. Like most genjutsu the illusion can be cancelled by disrupting one’s chakra flow or having pain inflicted on them. Many Shishido ninja go on to specialise in medical ninjutsu as well, which is something the clan is particularly proud of. They are also known to use barrier ninjutsu in order to reduce as many casualties on the field, but during missions where the killing of their enemies is necessary, Shishido ninja are trained to use a bow and arrow to ensure death from a distance. Although ninjutsu is very rarely used, many Shishido ninja have an affinity for the fire element. ▅ LEGACY Since their settlement in the village the Shishido have always kept the welfare of the people as a high priority, offering medical services and charity where needed. Amongst their acquaintances in the kuge class the Shishido are respected for their genjutsu and medical expertise, but amongst their adversaries they are scoffed for their much softer and manipulative approach to fighting. Their influence on Kusagakure is undeniable, however; they established the first local hospital where the sick can be housed, and a few years following their arrival they rebuilt the village shrine after it had been left in ruins after the Warring States Period. Though their clan has been cut by half from the two shinobi wars, when the people are in need of aid, they can trust the Shishido to act fast. VALUES Due to their occupations as carers and supporters the Shishido greatly value kindness, fortitude and the strength of the mind and heart. But above all else they value loyalty, whether it is to their clan or to their village. The Shishido remain ever grateful to Kusagakure for taking them into their walls decades ago, and since then they have gone above and beyond to do what they can to protect the village and its civilians. But even when faced with foreign enemies, the Shishido remain steadfast and respectful to display their honour. However, there are some whose loyalties to the Shishido and Kusa have fallen out of balance; if it's for the welfare of the village, disregarding a few clan values doesn't seem so regrettable. TRADITIONS » Not all Shishido become ninja, with a majority of clansmen actually going on to become medical professionals or caretakers of the village shrine. However, it is required of all members to have basic medical knowledge, as well as a year’s worth of experience working at the shrine over the course of one’s lifetime. » Within the Shishido’s main family, only the eldest daughter of the clan head may inherit the position when their mother steps down or dies. Although most of the powerful positions in the clan are held by women, it is not unheard of to have men among these ranks too. » After a Shishido clansmen dies, the body is cremated and a bonfire is held at the village shrine in their respect. A kagura dance is performed by shrine maidens around the fire, which allegedly helps them safely pass on to the other world. The ceremony is open only to members of the Shishido clan, even if friends of the deceased outside the clan wish to attend. » In honour of the clan’s founder Isuzu, the Shishido throw a large yearly celebration at the village shrine on her birthday. In the evening two selected shrine maidens wear lion masks as they perform a shishi kagura dance, which is believed to protect people from evil spirits and ill omens. Although it was originally intended for only clansmen to view, the celebration has since been open for all to attend. » All the women from the main bloodline use kanji from different instruments in their given names. HEIRLOOMS Every time a new clan head is appointed, the rosary necklace once worn by the clan founder is given to them. The beads are quite large and made of a sturdy wood, and it is widely speculated that the spirit of Shishido Isuzu has kept it from breaking after all these years. However, it has shown a bit of wear in recent years. ▅ ORGANIZATION The Shishido are a matriarchal clan, so only females born from the main bloodline can be legitimate successors. Members of the clan's inner council are referred to as 'bells' or 'suzu'; there are twelve suzu in total, with the first, second and third suzu positions saved for the clan head and her two advisors. The other nine positions are for representatives from professions the Shishido have influence over. This includes war councillors, tasked with teaching the ninja arts and clan techniques to shinobi in training; medical councillors, tasked with overseeing medical practices and training in the village hospital; and shrine councillors, tasked with maintaining the village shrine and ceremonies both public and private to the clan. These positions are determined by experience and merit, so much of the Shishido council are senior members of the clan. FOUNDER Shishido Isuzu ∘ Dead ∘ 33 to 68 » Mother of the poor, sick and vulnerable « Koto Biwa ∘ Sasara ∘ Shime ∘ Ichi ∘ Sen ∘ Tsuri ∘ Kotoko ∘ Suzuki CURRENT CLAN HEAD Sen ∘ 34 ∘ 38 » Cold and cautious master of illusions « Sen ∘ Morioka Iwate ∘ Tsuri Kotoko ∘ Suzuki ▅ CREATION Nearing the end of the Warring States Period when the fighting was at its strongest, a priestess of just nineteen named Shishido Isuzu found herself lost and alone in a forest south of the Land of Fire. Her village, caught in the crossfire of two warring clans, had been trampled into the dirt. The nearby ninja temple, the sworn protector of the village and the place she had once called home, had gone up in flames. Guilt overcame Isuzu, having been the only one to escape in all the confusion despite her pledge to protect her fellow villagers. But she quickly realised that grieving over her mistakes would not change anything; even amidst all the terror and bloodshed, Isuzu swore to herself that she wouldn’t let something like that happen again. Isuzu was knowledgeable in the ninja arts, and she made it her duty to protect those who couldn’t protect themselves using these skills. As she wandered through the country she healed the weak and fought for the vulnerable, and by the end of the Warring States Period, many flocked to the abandoned shrine she used as a place of healing out of gratitude or out of influence from her kindness and courage. Isuzu’s recognition eventually drew in more enemies that sought to use her talents for their own benefits, but she made sure her people were prepared to fight this time. Her followers were required to have basic medical knowledge, and those that showed potential for controlling chakra had Isuzu’s techniques passed down to them. Isuzu died a peaceful death surrounded by her followers and her successor, her daughter Koto, formally established the community as the Shishido clan. Although she led the Shishido as well as her mother had, Koto’s time as the clan leader saw much suffering and violence. Skirmishes between remaining enemies became more frequent around their land and soon the Shishido were forced to flee their home, a scene all too familiar to them. Months of travel led them to the recently formed Kusagakure, and in an attempt to end her clan’s struggle Koto offered the Shishido’s medical expertise to the villagers in exchange for settlement within the village. Over time their loyal services to Kusa during and after wartimes have earned the Shishido a high standing amongst fellow shinobi families, and though they have lost many clansmen to war they remain dedicated to their duties on and off the battlefield. PRESENTLY Five generations of the main Shishido bloodline are currently living under one roof, including the official founder’s granddaughter Shishido Biwa, who has lived into her hundreds. Her eldest daughter Sasara and eldest granddaughter Ichi serve as the clan’s elders, while Biwa’s eldest great granddaughter Sen is the official face of the Shishido. Although the clan claims to be advocates for peace, tensions have started to arise within the Shishido council over the future of their people, and whether ‘bolder’ measures should be taken in order to keep the clan and the village safe. The elder war veterans in the council have seen nothing good come out of the past two wars, and as such want to keep their peaceful ways. Some of the younger council members believe a change in their clan traditions is needed to reduce further losses to the clan, fearing that another war will devastate the clan beyond repair.
