Shiori Spiga"Once you’re devoured, it doesn’t matter who you were before."
_______________________________________________
Like a boa constrictor, Shiori Spiga had a natural talent for guessing the measurements of a piece of meat just by looking at them. It came in handy when making clothing, which is what she’d decided would be the perfect gift for Kenshiro’s mother. The night after her lunch with Burai and Kenshiro, Shiori went to work weaving up her gift. She was carefully fixing together a lace pattern in the shape of hydrangea flowers when a tall, pale woman with eight eyes approached her out of the darkness.

“Are you not coming to dinner, daughter?” Asked the eight-eyed woman.

“I’m not hungry. Kenshiro Hyuuga’s mother made us lunch.” answered Shiori. “I’m working on a gift for it.” she added, raising the silk demonstratively.

“Us?” Answered the tall woman.

“My teammates. Burai Kasei and Kenshiro Hyuuga.”

“Interesting.” Said her mother. She drew herself closer to her daughter and sat down. Shiori stiffened, but kept up her weaving. Between her hands, the silk flowed in a slow-moving stream of lace and patterns.

“What do you think about them?”

“They are male, and they act male.” Shiori answered. “I’m glad to be on a team with a Hyuuga, even if it is a branch house. The idea of me leading the team makes them nervous, I think. They refused me when I said that I would. But of course, they are too easy-going to-”

“Is leadership something you ask for?”

Shiori's weaving stopped.

“No.” she said.

“No, it is not.” Her mother reiterated. Then she spoke more softly. “I’m sure the significance of your teammate’s clans has not escaped you.”

“We were referred to as ‘the blind and the branch-house.’” Shiori said. “But I think it is something more. Perhaps someone wishes we would eat their competitors.”

“Or they wish to prove how savage and untrustworthy the Spiga truly are. Check and double-check your weaving, daughter. There are more eyes receiving us than you realize, and a gift, once given, cannot be mended.”

Shiori took the advice to heart. It took her a week to finish her gift, a delicate summer robe embroidered with rainy-season flowers and hummingbirds. It was the most intricate thing she had ever made. On the morning of her team meeting she went to Kenshiro Hyuuga’s residence to drop it off, and then to the town square to meet her jounin. It was a busy, loud place to meet, but she found her teammates easily enough in the crowd.

The warterfountain in the square flowed tranquilly, the people went about their day shopping and laughing amongst themselves, the smells of the village swirlled around in the air, fresh ramen, smoked beef and fried foods of sorts, There was a tranquility to this busy part of town even amongst the talking and bustling. Unfortunitly Kuree didn't appreciate it at this time as she is too busy trying to exercise her excitement and anxiety of meeting her new students out of her body by performing various excersices in rapid succession. Some thought it was some kind of show... some thought she was losing her mind... both watched before returning to their day.

The people that stared at her made Kuree realize she needed to calm herself, "You've got this, you can do this, you have done it before, no big deal, you're in control." Kuree whispered to herself before checking on the supplies she brought, making sure the images she painted onto the buckets were dry. six 8-gallon buckets of water were in front of her each pared and separated by twos, a set for each student, and upon them were cute chibi caricatures of her students. each student was assigned two buckets with their fellow teammate on them.

Kuree had calmed down some and all three of her students arrived not long after each other "Oh, good, nice to see you all look well, Burai Kasei, Kenchiro Hyuuga, and Shiori Spiga. I am Kuree Suto, maybe you have heard of me? some call me the mountain!" Kuree said putting on a pleasant smile but still wasn't sure if people called her that and meant it in a nice way. after the brief pause, she continued "Okay! let's start our day with some deep stretches!" Kuree gave them a motivating thumbs up before saying "Just repeat after me! and after we are done stretching, you three will pick up your buckets and we will have a nice run to training ground 5!" Kuree said while stretching, now that she is actually getting started she felt less nervous. The excitement started to grow, replacing any anxiety that was festering inside. "So, what motivates you to be shinobi?" Kuree asked casually, she did not consider the fact that it may have been difficult for some to have conversations while stretching and exercising, something she and her family did all too often.

Eri Takeda“No matter what, someone is depending on you.”
_______________________________________________
Spirited! They’d given her a spirited team. They didn’t all get along yet, but that was fine. That was what the test was for. They had a lot of energy to burn, and Eri knew how to use it. She too had a been a spirited young woman, not that long ago… although it was certainly getting to be long ago. Twenty years since she’d graduated academy, and still she’d never had a decent boyfriend. It felt like all her effort had landed her nothing but bad news and a box of fish-shaped pastries, slowly going stale.

But now was no time to think about that! Eri clapped her hands together once and emerged from her hiding place, seeming to suddenly appear before the genin.

“Team 4! I see we’ve all arrived on time and ready to train.” She announced. “Line up in front of me, please, and if your academy taught you to stand in formation, now would be the time to show it.” She had a wide, friendly smile, formal but cheerful. Yes, thought Eri, this was the first step in the next phase of her grand ninja career - she wasn’t EX-piring, she was IN-spiring! And soon her genin would be… Per-spiring! She felt very clever.

“And… if they haven’t taught you to stand in formation, just make a line and stand about shoulder width apart from each other.” She added as the kids shuffled into position.

Eri stood before them, shoulders back and head held up in a way that suggested she’d spent many years in military and since renounced all forms of slouching. As she spoke, she looked into the eyes of each genin in turn, as if making sure each one really heard what she was saying.

“Now, since this is our first meeting, introductions are in order. I am Eri Takeda and I’ll be your jounin from here on. Your teachers at the academy have given me plenty of information on the three of you, but there is no substitute for firsthand experience. In time, the three of you will know your teammates better than anyone else ever could. So! When I call on you, please tell me your teammates strengths, and then their weaknesses, as far as you know.”

She paused a moment to take in the reactions of her students, then announced her first target.

“Rina Uchiha!”

I watch angels fall from the sky
Every time that the sun still sets
I pray they don't take mine

Don't worry I'll be fine
The story is just beginning
I say goodbye to my weakness
So long to my regret
And now I know that I'm alive
______________________________________
Rashiku had left earlier than he'd needed to in order to make it to Mekakushi-sensei's apartment, leaving himself time to walk more slowly. The early morning air felt the closest to his old home. The cool, slightly damp feeling. The summer season made it less so, but it was close as he could get. Moving through the town gave him time to think over the upcoming meeting. There he'd meet his third teammate, as Kiyoshi had been taken off of the team. Rashiku knew the name of the replacement, Akira Senju, but couldn't place them in memory. Even his instructor whom he'd met, he knew nothing about. His hand raised to scratch his white hair, the boy finding that he really didn't like how in the dark he felt. This was unacceptable, as he'd clearly paid too little attention. Remedy was needed, and he'd have to work on preventing this lack of basic information in the future.

There was one among his team whom he had learned at least an acceptable amount of, but she still partially confounded him. Ami Uzumaki had met him a couple of extra times through the week, once by coincidence, and the other having been sought out by her friend Kimi who had asked many strange questions. The oddest thing about Ami was that she felt... not like a shinobi. She was far too gentle and he felt no predatory instinct like most others he'd met. What Misaki had said about her being too nice and no help in battle crossed his thoughts, but he couldn't fully believe that. The Academy would not have passed her did they not believe her ready. Perhaps that was one of her skills, hiding her intents. It would make sense if she was skilled at appearing helpless enough for an enemy to lower their guard. If that was the case, then it would be an impressive talent. Even her weapon specialization of a folded spear supported the theory. She was curious, and he was eager to see her fight.

Arriving at the apartment, Rashiku was puzzled to find no answer when he'd knocked on the door. He knocked a couple more times, checking assignment letter to be sure of the address. Cautiously he turned the knob to find the door unlocked. Perhaps his sensei didn't hear him. "Sensei? Are you here?" He called out, still not hearing an answer. It felt strange, like he was intruding, but slowly the boy entered, figuring that if his teacher was not home that he would exit and wait outside. Immediately a suspicious object caught his eye, a wooden shuriken shallowly embedded into wall next to the doorframe. Something strange was going on, and quietly the boy took his sword's scabbard off his back to hold it at the ready. It didn't need to be drawn yet. "Chakra sight..."
A couple weak signatures passed behind him, civilians in the street, not of any consequence. More of note was that he could see two people further into the apartment, past the entrance hallway and a couple of walls. People were already here, possibly his sensei, and also worrying were two lines of chakra going across the hallway directly infront of him, almost to where he'd walked into them. They clearly looked like tripwires, made of extremely weak chakra lines that would likely break with the slightest contact.

It would take a bit of maneuvering, but Rashiku felt he could get around the lines and not make too much sound. The situation was suspicious enough that he thought it best to see who was in his instructor's home, and reporting it if it was needed. Jumping over the both of them was the best way to not risk accidentally snagging one, and a simple enough maneuver, but it turned out to not be the route that was truly safe. Right as he silently landed on the other side, a loud snap echoed through the hall right after a soft click of his foot touching a pressure plate hidden in the floor. 'Damn it!' From his left a line of wooden kunai and shuriken launched at him, and swiftly Rashiku rolled forward underneath them, evading them successfully but landing right into another planned pressure plate. "World focus!" Instantly his ability to detect the two chakra signatures in the apartment faded, but instead the incoming projectiles coming his way suddenly appeared to be flying at a snail's pace, along with his own movements going in slow motion. Dodging most, and catching the couple that he couldn't with his sword's scabbard, he kept moving in. The noise clearly had his presence revealed, and by the time he had gotten through, he had successfully not gotten hit by the traps, but activated many of them. Finally able to take a breath and stock of everything that had just happened, he looked to where the chakra signatures were to see a boy he didn't recognize, along with his instructor.

Perplexed he deactivated his dojutsu, looking back and forth between the hallway and Takayuki.

Kenshiro Hyuuga
Location: Konoha Town Square
Company: Burai, Shiori, Kuree
Injuries: None
Chakra: 100%

Kenshiro could only stare for a moment with his face reddening with embarrassment at the introduction of their instructor, and her immediate instructions to start doing stretches and exercises right in the middle of town square in front of everyone. "Some call me the mountain!" At first he thought that the woman couldn't be being serious. She was playing a joke with them. But then her instructions came for them to run the buckets with water to the training ground, through the town, in public. With a sigh, he seemed to disobey her orders for a brief moment, not taking part in the stretches. Instead, he started... disrobing. He removed his outer layer, the green robe that made him look sharp and well-dressed. Underneath was a set of very obvious shinobi fatigues, typically used for stealth in the darkness along with ease of movement. High up on his left hip lay a katana on the shorter end of length, and the other side held easily reached shuriken bags and gear. It took Kenshiro only a moment to neatly fold up his robe and easily store it in one of the pouches, before he reached into the collar of his neck and pulled up a face covering to conceal himself for the upcoming humiliation. With his face hidden, he finally started to join in with his new instructor, doing some stretches and trying his best to follow her movements.

When Kuree asked about their motivations, Kenshiro had a difficult time coming up with an answer. It was just what he was born to do. There was little else. The branch family served the main in the Hyuuga, and while different kinds of servants were needed, his duty was in the shinobi forces. "Help out my clan I guess... Yeah that's about it." He let out during a more easy stretch, as he was finishing up and it looked like they were getting ready to make the long trip out to the training ground. 'Ah crap...' Went through his head as he peered at the buckets, seeing just how much they were filled with. Lifting them wouldn't be a problem but carrying them all the way to the training ground was going to really be a pain.

This woman was serious? That was the only thought that continued to repeat in the young Uchiha’s mind while she just started at Lumika...Completely dumbfounded by the way this supposed ninja was carrying herself. Trying to HELP? Rina was practicing on a dummy? What could this idiot possibly have helped with, aside from volunteering herself as a moving target. Her attacks had sounded ferocious enough that she had attracted attention it would seem. “If your training sounds any less intensive than mine than you’re either not serious, or you’re weak.” she said rather flatly. Neither of those were qualities she desired in a teammate.

It seemed that this WAS in fact her other teammate this “Team” of hers was going nowhere fast if this was the bar. “Just don’t-” her response was cut off rather abruptly by the emergence of an older ninja. Rina folded her arms and just stared at the woman who would be leading them and teaching them for the next year. She didn’t seem that impressive...She was expecting someone stronger.

Rina rolled her eyes when the woman asked them to get into formation but did as she was told. There was something about how chipper this Jounin was that was getting under Rina’s skin, not enough to make her angry, but enough to cause her some measure of irritation. When she was called upon to give strengths and weaknesses of her teammates. Rina didn’t seem to flinch.

The other Uchiha seems like she’ll be a worthy challenge. I haven’t fought other members of my clan in a long time. Her Sharingan will help track enemies and copy their abilities. She clearly has skill with a blade and is...Decent at hiding.” that was about as much positive praise as anyone was going to be able to wring out of Rina. She wasn’t known for her kindness. “She lacks any decorum and speaks like a fool however.” and that was her summation of Kimi.

The Uchiha’s eyes then moved towards Lumika and fixated upon the blonde before she finally spoke again. “Lumika on the other hand. I can see no redeeming qualities in whatsoever.” she stated rather harshly. “A fool who rushes in and doesn’t assess the situation. Whose first instinct while hearing combat wasn’t to lay in wait nearby but to foolishly blunder in and leave herself wide open to enemy attack. The only thing she’s managed to do since I met her was waste my time. She’ll only slow me down.

"Weak?!?" was what burst out of Lumika's mouth before their jounin arrived before she had the chance to defend herself. Her teacher demanded her to stand in formation and in an instant Lumika assumed correct military posture. But perhaps she was trying to stand too correct as she looked she was challenged to pantomime a sturdy pole in the ground, stiff from toe to crown.

Rina was incredibly insulted by Rina's first impression of her "oh yeah? two can play thi-" Lumika's thoughts were interrupted by her conscience "just because you can hurt someone back doesn't mean you should Lulu" Lumika remembered her mother saying to her once, after fighting with her older brother. With her morals re-embursed to her, she spoke "Takeda Sensai! Rina Uchiha from what I can tell from our first meeting is a competent fire Jutsu user and a competent taijutsu user" Lumika reported with a still salute held while she continued "But from close inspection of her training dummy, I can say that she is either too balanced between both Jutsu and taijutsu lacking any specialized talent, or something is constantly holding her back mentally from achieving her true potential! and from her report just now she is quick to judge opponents before truly getting to see their strength!" Lumika said plainly and calculated like an official report, the only thing to break her posture was to turn to quickly look at Kimi while still holding her salute.

After a quick look up and down "Unfortunately I do not have much to add in regards to Kimi Uchiha as she has only just got here, but, she is capable at hiding, must know some form of kenjutsu and if she inherited the Sharingan trait of her clan, would provide useful in many applications as before mentioned by my peer. Her lack of a presence in our time here can be an indication of a lack of time management, no commitment to intensive training, or a pension to shy away from social slash confrontational situations which could result in poorly planned...plans, Ma'am!" Lumika finished her report and quickly brought her hand down to her leg making a slapping sound as it collided back into her body.

Shiori Spiga"Once you’re devoured, it doesn’t matter who you were before."
_______________________________________________
Shiori bit the inside of her cheek to hide her disbelief and annoyance at the jounin they’d picked out for her. She’d thought Kuree was some kind of street performer, or perhaps a slightly addled prostitute out in midday. But no, it was a jounin. Shiori’s jounin. She supposed its mountain nickname was based on its intellect, as the woman seemed dumb as a bag of rocks. Carrying buckets around town and stretching was the kind of meatheaded exercise that Hiro’s teammates would have been better suited for. She could easily imagine the ‘miraculous’ Jin Kani, or whatever it called itself, happily flailing himself across the town square with Misaki and Hiro in tow.

She assumed the golden boy and his monkeys were off doing something more fitting to an academy graduate. Perhaps, as her friend Yuzumi had implied, the high-ranked Hyuuga’s main competitors had been assigned a worse hand on purpose, including this bubbly brain-trust for a jounin. At least her boys had the potential to overcome their impotence. It was better than nothing.

As for her teammates… Shiori wondered if Kenshiro was changing into its masked ninja attire out of boyish over-preparation or an ill conceived notion that it could avoid embarrassment. The latter seemed more likely. The Hyuuga seemed like it mostly just wanted to be left alone to enjoy a comfy life, but was made uncomfortable by the perception others had of it. The Kasei, on the other hand, clearly wanted to strike fear into those larger than it. It couldn’t, anymore than it could summon a demon at the dinner table. But it wanted to.

Well, if Shiori was to receive an audience this morning, she would make sure she was something to be appreciated. She did not like the idea of showing herself off to the whole village for free, as it were, and certainly not to Burai and Kenshiro for nothing. But perhaps she could make use of that later.

She smiled and followed along with Kuree, letting her robe dangle and cling to her body as she arched herself into the more complex stretches. Her skill as a dancer showed in certain positions, and she held her legs easily at high angles. Some of the stretches were a little more difficult than others, and Kuree was going at a pretty fast pace - but Shiori did not let her mask slip.

When it came time to answer the preschool prompt proposed by her jounin, she replied in a sweet, friendly tone.

“To help the village become it’s best, sensei.”

Hiro Hyuuga"A dog must obey. Stay down."
_______________________________________________
"Sensei, I must insist-", Hiro called out with every intention of stopping the man in his tracks. His promise to... p-put hands on Mori-san before she could struggle was in worse taste than he could bear. Hiro had downed her, yes, but that was because she needed to know that she was nothing to him if they were to be on a team. He hadn't then... put hands on her... he'd offered her his, which she would not take.

But his hand touched nothing. The man who had just fallen into a pond moved around his hand as if he were made of air and knelt besides Mori-san like a spirit. Who was this man? Hiro recovered from his surprise quickly, activated his Byakugan, and rounded the man, but was stopped in his tracks in surprise by what he was seeing. Far be it from anything illicit, he was healing the damage Hiro'd done with his blow, manipulating her chakra with the tips of his fingers, his palms. Hiro could see the dysregulation of her lungs and nerves, her tenketsu system, begin to right itself and Mori-san gasped for air only moments later!

"You look loaded, kid. That'll be seventy ryo", said the man who had called himself Kamoji. He was looking at Hiro with such a look that Hiro's lip curled for a moment and he released his byakugan. Just at that moment, Kani-san blundered next to him and shook his fist, gritting his teeth!

"Fiend! What have you done to her", he cried, which Hiro knew was impotent. If he'd so easily avoided Hiro's own blow and healed Mori-san's tenketsu system with such ease, Kani-san hadn't a dream of a chance of doing more than annoying this very dangerous man, and Kani-san was annoying at the best of times.

"Hold back. He healed her, Kani-san", Hiro ventured. Kani-san was too simple to understand anything more complex than a straight forward explanation. He did not have the capacity to read the atmosphere. He had all the subtlety of a bomb and Hiro trusted him just as much. But as if to strengthen Hiro's argument, Mori-san got shakily to her feet and stumbled away from Kamoji. Kani-san smirked and crossed his arms while Mori-san looked from Kamoji to her teammates wildly.

"Well! If that's the case", Kani-san said, carrying on, "You should learn to use your words better, sensei! Had you called out heroically 'I'll save her' or 'In the name of justice, I will put my hands on that girl', we would not have reacted so! In battle, it is important to be clear to your teammates!"

"So... Seventy Ryo", Kamoji repeated, picking his teeth, "Which one of you got it?"

Jin frowned and Hiro narrowed his eyes, was he being serious?

"Did you expect me to work for free? The village is paying me to teach you. They never said anything about my using my medical expertise. I'm a professional. I got professional pride. I'm giving you a discount", Kamoji continued, as if in response to the boys' baffled expressions.

In the end, it was Mori-san who took the seventy ryo from her pouch and threw it at him and, much to her surprise, he swallowed it in mid air.

"Aright kids! Get in a line or a formation or somethin'. It's the first day and I gotta figure out if you're worth teaching or not", he announced suddenly but with as much laziness as seemed characteristic of the man. Mori-san stumbled, still a little shaky, next to Hiro, though at arms length. Kani-san flanked Hiro on the other side, his arms crossed and his scarf annoyingly close to Hiro's face at times.

"Test is simple", Kamoji continued, grabbing and swinging around his giant hammer as lightly as a parasol, "All you gotta do is land a blow on me and you all pass the test. If you give up, you fail. Aright! That's all... Now... Uh... Start!"

Hiro thought back to the blow he'd tried to land earlier, the way it hadn't hit anything. Had that been a preview of things to come? Was this all a set up? He acted the fool, but Hiro was convinced that it was just an act. Even the name "Kamoji" was an act. It meant "Duck Man". It was absurd.

"Never fear! Jin is here! I will win this little test for you! For I am Jin, son of Gendo", and he leaped at Kamoji with a huge punch! Kamoji hopped on one foot, as if in a Kabuki dance pose and... began to sing...

"I am Kamoooooji!
I'll make you big and strong!"

While he was distracted, Mori-san aimed a kick to his head, which he flipped over and landed on the head of his hammer. If there was a moment to strike, it was now. Hiro aimed an attack at the handle of his hammer to disrupt his balance and would make a follow up attack straight at his center! But it didn't land. Kamoji's hammer tilted to the side and lifted, leaving Hiro striking air.

"Try to land a strike before I can finish this soooooong!"

BOOM!

With a sudden swing of his hammer... he sent all three children flying into the woods.

Tomoyuki

"I must train.." he murmured to himself as he was in a deep meditation, it was the night before Tomoyuki would meet his new teammates. can't say he would miss the old ones, never even met them. That night was odd, the boy could feel the one tails insatiable influence to have him sleep. luckily for him he had been trained in other methods to rest his body. he left his new home to the training grounds, the night had a calming breeze that reminded him of sunagakure. he began his little training session with the usual daily routine, start off with a some shadow boxing at the training dummy keeping his footwork between a powerful stance then shift into shuffles and keeping small bounce. anyone who seen his style could tell he's been practicing his form on a daily basis. He continued his workout till the sun began to rise.

Tomoyuki arrived at the village gate along with the other genin, he looked at them all giving a simple wave before leaning himself against the gate as they all waited for their respective sensei's to arrive. he seemed bored as if this whole ordeal was pointless. his demeanor would change soon after Mizuraki and Ichika Sensei arrived. he stood in formation awaiting orders, the boy seemed almost to comfortable with it. He listened diligently as Ichika and Mizuraki spoke awaiting to be addressed, after Ichika's short speech Tomoyuki responded with the typical "Yes, Sensei!" he took the moment to ponder as he now finally learned of his new teammates left him intrigued. Yue, he heard very little of her but knew enough that she would be a helpful ally. possibly their greatest asset. then there was the bug boy Natsuo he didn't know at all aside that they were from the Aburame clan. a rather powerful and underestimated clan at that, both of them were easily able to match the own and he couldn't help but wonder how he could fair against them. "It's a pleasure to meet you all..." he stated in a calm tone before looking back to Ichika "Sensei, what is the objective of our mission?" this time his voice seemed rather eager, maybe he wants to prove himself.

Hideo Sarutobi"Compromise is a lie told to abdicate duty."
_______________________________________________
Emerging from the nearby trees, a man in a baboon ANBU mask approached the congregated shinobi at the village gates. On his back, he carried an omi yari and on his belt, he carried a short blade, perhaps a tanto or a dagger. He held one hand behind his back and another swung freely by his side. He gave an anemic wave as he came closer, which turned into a fist and then fell limply again.

"I have found you", he stated plainly to all involved, "You will be divided into team Ichika and Team Mizuraki. I have heard Ichika has her team prepared. Mizuraki is less competent. I hope that she does not rely on her natural talent instead of tactics. My first impression of her is poor."

He used no honorifics.

"I believe that honesty fosters trust. It is important for the genin to know whether they are on the more or less competent team so that they can make up for their leader's mistakes and missteps", he continued. He then paused, "Forgive me. My name is Hideo. I have been asked to act as representative and overseer for the council for this mission."

And it was only then that he used his free hand to remove his mask. Underneath was a surprisingly warm and open smile, "It is a pleasure to work with you."

The smile dropped immediately as his attention went to attaching his mask to his belt, but returned sporadically, flashing when his eyes met another shinobi and was just as warm and open, just as sincere, and gone just as quickly giving way to perhaps a bored expression. It was nondescript.

"The object of this mission is none of your concern. We are meeting a Kumo team at our rendezvous point, where further instructions will be issued as they are needed", he paused and turned briefly to Tenshi and said in a particularly friendly tone, "You'll be pleased to know that your brother-adopted brother- will be among them. In your absence, he's been promoted to jounin and given his own team", and then turned back to the rest of the assembled ninja, "We will be leaving as soon as Mizuraki is able to arrange her team into something capable of following the rest of the group."

Throughout, his hand never left his back, where it gripped his omi yari loosely.

Burai Kasei

Burai regarded his new sensei with interest, as he took to his stretches with gusto. Such exercises weren't unfamiliar to him, of course. Taijutsu was his family's speciality, and his long and thorough training process left no room for pulled muscles and improper warmups. Suto-sensei was an intriguing prospect to say the least. He had known since first seeing her in the street that she was a powerful Ninja; The flow of her chakra was too quick, too tempestuous for her to be anything else, and it shone with a barely restrained potential, as though ready to explode at the first given moment. He liked her, he supposed, although he hadn't expected such a source of irreverent energy to be the teacher of such an... unconventional group as his. He smiled.

He looked forward to messing with her.

Equally, he looked to his teammates with a comfortable air of amusement. Kenshiro had been quieter than usual today, and Burai couldn't help but frown at the mixture of doubt and suspicion that emanated from him when he regarded Shiori. The girl, meanwhile, was radiating a... confusing aura. Her chakra's flow was an odd mix of contempt, humour and... fondness? In equal measure, regardless. He couldn't quite pinpoint it, and that alone got him fired up; he prided himself on the insight his bloodline granted.

He'd barely restrained a laugh when Ken seemed to strip, imagining the town's reaction to a naked, stretching Hyuuga. 'Is that supposed to be impressive, Ken-san?' The boy was taking this seriously; unnecessarily so in Burai's opinion, but such was life. His answer to their sensei's question, however, was oddly fitting. By contrast, Shiori's reply had been laced so thickly with irony and misdirection that he really had laughed. He regarded her, as he'd found himself doing often, with fascination. The Spiga girl was a bundle of contradictions and intent so convoluted that it almost hurt! He couldn't wait to properly befriend her.

Oh, the fun they'd have together...

Finally, almost a minute after Shiori had given her answer, he piped up, looking to his sensei with a soft smile (although his focus couldn't help but keep drifting back to the girl's impressive... form) as he followed her movements. "A pleasure to meet you, sensei!" He paused for a moment, a strange energy suffusing his spirit. "To be a proud Shinobi of Konoha! To serve it and its people to my last! This has been my goal from the moment of my birth!" His fist clenched, his smile broadening. "I will do my parents proud, and complete our branch's fighting style. I will train until I cannot be touched. I will become a shinobi that will make all my clan proud! Until I draw my last breath, that is my goal!" For the first time, he showed a true, broad smile to those outside his clan, his face lighting up. "I will be a proud shinobi, even if it takes me all my years. Every day, every breath, is a new challenge, sensei," he proclaimed, fixing his eyes on Kuree, "And I truly cannot wait!"

A moment passed, and he found, to his surprise, that he'd stopped stretching and thrust a fist into the air. With a nervous laugh, he rubbed the back of his head and returned to his stretches, mildly embarrassed for his somewhat brazen display.

"And for future reference, sensei, I cannot see images, so perhaps an identifying seal would work next time?" There! Persona re-established!

He was glad Uncle Jou hadn't seen that.

The man would piss himself laughing.

Tenshi Hokori

What he had heard he didn't believe at first. Once Tenshi arrived he stood there as he waited once a male arrived. A member of the ANBU Black Ops member was the messenger. Before he had said his bit and revealed his face, Tenshi was upset the Hokage wasn't give the orders out himself, but that all disappeared quickly.

As soon as the Hideo the man's name Tenshi has just learned gaze fell upon him, when he said there wasnt need of further explanation followed by saying that Tenshi's adopted brother was leading a team that they were to work with. Almost as soon as Tenshi some time to process it he had his first outburst, "What up! Hold on! You might think there isn't need for any sort of explanation, but what is this mission? A joint mission of any kind with my village, shouldn't that kind of information been pasted you know through your Kumo ambassador first? On a second thought don't answer my questions yet. I should introduce myself to these two team leaders, as I better get to know these two seeing how we are about to walk into an unknown mission together I'd like to see is suppose to have my back on a mission."

Tenshi didnt acknowledged the fact Hideo brought his brother up. He wasnt going to make a big deal of that fact, his brother was a jounin now. He wasn't surprised by the promotion, if he had to guess this was something his mother did to get back at him for demanding his mission that she disagreed with. With one son in self-exile the other had to been seen in better light.

He quickly moved past Hideo and approached the two jounin leaders then said, "From what Hideo just said I can assume one of you two is Ichika and the other is Mizuraki? I guess its nice to meet the both of you considering the circumstance hopefully this joint mission will go without a hitch." He was sincere wans polite when he spoke to the two. Unlike his first out burst he quickly turned things to make nice with the two who would be leading the two Konoha teams with in this mission.

Location: Konoha Town SquareKuree Suto
_______________________________________________
What a great day this was starting out to be! the weather is pleasant and her students seem to be getting along so far. Kuree was surprised to see that Kenshiro came prepared with clothes to train in underneath his robes, it made sense to her, who would want to get such nice clothes dirty? Kuree had doubts that what he said was his true feelings, everyone has a goal...right? Kuree moved on from that train of thought with a general nodd of her head as Shiori spoke up next.

Shiori seems to do well at the stretches it was clear she had an ability to be very flexible, "To help the village become its best, sensai" Kuree could hear a genuine tone and she seemed motivated enough but from what Kuree read about her in her file she still had some doubts. She continued stretching and waited patiently for Burai, she wondered what he must be thinking about, his file told her about his abilities, she thought it must be an interesting way to see the world, perhaps beautiful or maybe scary. this duality gave Kuree an interesting idea for a painting.

Her mental drawing was interrupted by Burai speaking up, and his passion surprised her a little "that's the spirit!" Kuree thought to herself but was careful not to show and preference to their answers physically, but his answer did excite her knowing that she has a student who is interested in taijutsu. However the realization that she neglected to put something on her student's bucket that he could see made her feel horrible "Noted!" Kuree said upbeat trying to hide her shame

And with the last stretch complete Kuree sprang up to her feet and clapped her hands together "Alright! now for our second warm-up! go ahead and grab your buckets and we will jog on over to training ground 5, if you feel like you can run feel free! but be careful if one of you spills your bucket all three of you will have to come back here to refill them!" Kuree said with her trademark can-do attitude and a polite smile "I don't know if you have ever been to training ground five but it's about 100 yards" Kuree said as she pointed with her thumb at the Hokage face mountain "past that mural!"

Ami UzumakiThe Two-Tailed Jinchuuriki
_______________________________________________
Ami was nervous as she made her way to the apartment. She could feel her heart racing in a panic. She even missed breakfast as she was too nervous to eat. She barely gotten any sleep at all last night from just how anxious she was. This would be her first time meeting her sensei properly and her other teammate. She actually had interacted with Rashiku a few times. Mostly due to Kimi's incistance of meeting him. Rashiku was slowly becoming someone that Ami wasn't terrified of anymore. She was still neverous around him at times, but other than that, Ami was slowly thinking they would become friends. That thought made her smile. Rashiku seemed to like drawing. He did show her a scary picture one time, but despite it's scary nature, the details and paints were quite nice to look at. It wasn't long until Ami arrived at the building and smiled. This was it. The first steps to becoming a full-fledged kunoichi.

Ami went to the door of the apartment and was about to open it but froze for a second. Her hair slowly raised, similar to a cat's tail puffing up. Something wasn't right. Ami slowly opened the door. The wooden shuriken had caught her attention, and she had entered just in time to see one of the traps being set off as Rashiku's shouting. The girl closed the door, looking a little alarmed. Did their sensei set up traps all over the apartment? Maybe she need to find another way inside. "Wait... That might be too obvious. He might have placed traps on the windows" Ami thought to herself. "Child... I do hope you didn't forget something..." a voice echoed in her mind, as the small girl tensed for a moment.

"M-Matatabi?" Ami asked as the girl could feel the two tailed demon stir within the seal of her mind. There was a bit of a silence before the cat demon spoke "You can get past this easily. You're flexible and light. Honestly, you're freaking out for no reason, child. Besides, you're just starting. Of course you're not going to be an expert. Just don't die. Jeez." Matatabi said before it went silent again. Ami was somehow reassured by Matatabi's words. It was quite strange. Ami was used to Matatabi's comments for the past three years. It was intimidating at first, but Ami was glad they are civil to each other. Taking a deep breath, Ami slowly opened the door again.

She was nervous before she slowly began to move around. She did her best to find any trip wire or pressure plates. She was on her tip toes, moving carefully as she was getting close. That was until she tripped a wire. Just as she was close to everyone. Ami stood there for a second before she let out a yelp when she moved away quickly, to avoid the wooden shurikens before ducking under the table, quickly pulling out a kunai to try and block any wooden projectiles.

ICHIKA UCHIHA

"I must say I do find it rather peculiar that I do not recognise you, given that you are clearly a member of the ANBU. You do not have to be concerned for Mizuraki's ability as a shinobi. She's one of the best I know. Nevertheless, it is a pleasure indeed." Ichika retorted, keeping her voice low as she strafed beside the mysterious ANBU operative, so as to prevent any of the others from hearing.

With a faint nod to Hideo, Ichika turned to face the team of genin that she had been assigned. Her Sharingan whirled to life as the Uchiha Jounin began utilising her dojutsu to assess the chakra profiles of those she would be leading. Ichika thought this necessary in order to make it easier to formulate attack plans on the fly.

Yue Nara. Quiet and reserved, possessing both water and fire chakra natures is a particularly unique combination. Especially among genin. With the hiden techniques of both the Nara and Yamanaka clans at her disposal, she is likely to be the team's most valuable and versatile asset. Though, I must admit she has some childish tendencies which I must iron out of her if we are to be successful.

Tomoyuki, an excellent swordsman with a unique style if his file is anything to be believed. Wind and earth natures typical of Suna natives. There is another monstrous chakra dwelling within him, and I detect a sealing jutsu on his person the likes I have never seen before. This is indicative that it is true after all. They have assigned me a damned Jinchuriki. This may prove highly problematic. Though he appears disciplined enough in his mannerisms, and will be the easiest for me to impart my knowledge upon; I must keep a close eye on him. I will not allow another Bijuu to rampage within the leaf. Though if it came to it, I'm not sure I could bring myself to kill him. He is but a child after all.

Natsuo Aburame. A lightning and earth release user, who allegedly combines this techniques with the insects that his clan is known for. The boy, though he seems physically weak and according to his file lacks any form of prowess in close ranged combat; Natsuo shall be absolutely instrumental in moulding the team into a cohesive unit, due to his skillset and apparent demeanor. A glue of sorts.

Allowing her Sharingan to fade away, her eyes reverting back to the cold black that most Uchiha irises were; Ichika sauntered towards Hideo. Gesturing for the children in her charge to follow suit. Her stride a portrait of femiminity, despite her armoured figure. "Team Ichika is at your disposal, Hideo. " Noting his deliberate exclusion of honorifics, Ichika responded in kind. The Uchiha would be lying if she claimed that she had not felt disrespected by the ANBU agent's mannerisms.

Location: By the village gate Mizuraki Senju
_______________________________________________________________________________
The tiredness of her face was somewhat hidden by the makeup if nothing else...The terse expression on her face however was not something that was so easily masked, she didn’t like the idea of this mission, and she certainly didn’t enjoy the idea of leading more kids into combat...Having the responsibility of children’s lives on her shoulders, even if just for a little while, was still nerve wracking to the poor Senju woman. They reminded her too much of herself. Young. Their whole lives ahead of them and yet being thrown into the woods against unseen forces, it was a scene so familiar it practically gave her deja vu.

However it didn’t matter how long she dwelled on it, it changed nothing, the only thing that she needed to focus on was getting these kids through this alive! After all it wasn’t like she’d be doing this every day. She made it clear to Seiji that she had no interest in teaching and Seiji, himself seemed to agree that it was for the best. “Right. So-” Mizuraki was cut off when the Cloud ninja arrived and commented on the kids. Her eyes immediately narrowed upon his first comment. “They won’t be a problem.” she said rather flatly and directly.

The first of her team introduced himself as Hiro and Mizuraki couldn’t help but smile like an absolute fool at the fact the poor boy seemed to have no confidence, it was cute. “It’s lovely to meet all of you. I’ll be the best temporary sensei you’ve ever had.” she said while waving her hand in a casual manner. This was the team huh? She remembered reading over their files...Although she also remembered a heavy night of drinking that immediately followed the reading of said files so, it was really a toss up on how much she would actually remember. From what she DID recall however they were all fairly skilled in Taijutsu but if she had to make a formation she would play to their varying degrees of skill.

The sound of a figure emerging from the trees made Mizuraki’s eyes open wide and she immediately turned around to meet whoever was attempting to get the drop on them, ready to meet them with a signature punch from the Senju...However she stayed her hand when she saw just what the man was wearing. Anbu? Here? She wasn’t told about this. The terse expression from before had returned to her face while she stared the Anbu operative down. Why would Anbu be involved in this mission? Scratch that. Why would Anbu be involved in a mission with literal Genin running around!? That was the far more pressing question.

And when the man opened his mouth Mizuraki’s terse expression changed into one of pure irritation. “Excuse me?” the previous jovial tone to her voice had melted away entirely. “I didn’t realize this was an evaluation.” An angry smile came to the woman’s face as she closed her eyes to hide her glare. “I’m so sorry to make such a poor impression...Why don’t you come closer and let me show you how competent I can be.” The Senju woman punched her open palm and upon impact a small shockwave dispersed around the immediate area. Not enough to blow anyone away of course, but definitely noticeable.

Mizuraki finally opened her eyes again when the council was mentioned. The council had a vested interest in this mission? A mission where they were sending genin. Just what the hell kind of mission was this...The more she heard about this the less she liked. Anbu, the Council and two squads of Genin along with the Cloud ambassador. So much of this mission didn’t add up whatsoever it was almost infuriating. She would need to talk to Seiji when she returned, surely he must know SOMETHING about all this right? She hoped so anyway.

Aaaannndd there was ANOTHER dig from that happy little Anbu agent that would be accompanying them today. Mizuraki gritted her teeth and stifled her laughter. “Yes, Yes...Of course.” The Senju was doing her best to stifle her anger behind her jovial mask but it was crumbling bit by bit. “And how about I-” she was about to say something to that uptight bastard before Ichika abruptly approached him. She wondered just what that was about. Either way...Nevermind him! They had a job to do. “Alright. Form up, Squadron.” There was now a fire in her eyes that wasn’t present before. “Bakuto and Hiro. I want you both side by side. Hiro do your best to move around the battlefield and provide support. Bakuto’s arm will be useful for Taijutsu encounters and the versatility will make opening that Hiro can easily exploit.” Now focusing her attention to Remi she nodded to him. “I want you to hang back and assess the situation before deciding what weapon to join the battle with. If you see an opportunity to distract with your clone technique and draw some attention off of Bakuto or Hiro if they get bogged down, do so. You’re all here to support each other this isn’t about glory, this isn’t about impressing anyone. This is about teamwork and coming home alive. Do I make myself clear!?

It was evident that she was now focused on the mission at hand given her demeanor change. Well that and the fact that Anbu had a special talent for pissing the Senju woman RIGHT off. “We’re ready.

Bakuto Uchiha

The moment Bakuto had arrived on the scene and waited for some sort of explanation of what was going on, but that never came. First the cloud shinobi came out with his outbursts which Bakuto originally ignored as he waited for whoever was to lead his squad to come out and say something.

Things went from weird to very weird as a member of the ANBU Black ops came out to be the one who would tell them about their mission. What little information he had. Two teams, team Ichika and team Mizuraki along with a cloud shinobi and they were going to team up with some sort of cloud team later. Bakuto was trying to piece everything together but this was off. Not only was he just made a genin but this was also his very first mission it is very strange and bizarre for this to be a first mission for anyone. This didn't make any sense to Bakuto the cloud where their enemies during the last war and there wasnt much good will towards them after the war. The ambassador was strange enough, but to have a whole mission with genin sent over that made Bakuto worry.

Mizuraki addressed Bakuto and the rest of his new squad. The orders were simple and seemed alright for what the current unknown situation. Even after all she said Bakuto had questions nagging away in his head. Soon he broke his silence the and spoke quietly, "Mizuraki Sensei, um...this mission makes no sense to me. We just left graduation and made genin last week. How are we expected to go on a mission with people who were our enemy." His eyes glanced over at the cloud shinobi as he said the word 'enemy' then he started to stare at the ground a bit unsure of himself and what he said. He adds, "I understand sending you and Ichika sensai over your both jounin, but us. I already know what can happen of someone gets captured." He gripped his fake puppet arm with his real one tightly as he mentions being captured as he continues to talk more, "Why send genin it makes not sense..." he trails off as he goes quiet going back to keeping to himself.

He didnt expect any sort of answer, as they didnt get anything for any sort of information that would lead to any real answer. He really just wanted to vent is confusion about the mission, and it had boiled over to that point in time. Yet he was worried about this mission in a number of ways. It was his very first one he didnt want to completely sound like he didnt want to do this or he couldn't, he just wanted it to go well but he was still very unsure about this whole situation.

Remi Haruno"Ah... Don't you think the world will be a little brighter without you in it?"
_______________________________________________
"It is troublesome, the way that life can turn. Like an hourglass, sometimes what you think has to be turned on its head before you run out of time...", Remi mused to Bakuto, stroking his chin with his index finger, "Sensei, am I wrong to believe with such a mission, a shift like that has happened at the highest levels?"

Bakuto had certainly brought up some interesting points and it was true that the debriefing had done little to inform, only to put everyone on edge. However, Remi tried to view the current situation as an opportunity. After all, he would be on a top secret mission as his first of his career! He'd be working alongside Kumo-nin, which meant he might be instrumental in fostering peace between the nations. If so, and if the Kumo-rep (as he so referred to himself) was any indication, Kumo-nin were attractive and fashionable and Remi could only imagine what kind of styles would emerge from an alliance of the villages. The thought put Remi in good spirits, despite the negative tone around him.

But why should he feel poorly? His jounin seemed amiable and capable, once she was given the opportunity to lead, and his teammates seemed much the same! Bakuto was bright and a little mysterious. Remi had heard about what happened to Bakuto's arm and his eye, but Remi thought it only added to the eccentricity of his character. Hiro the Suna-nin was bright in another way, though one that lacked Bakuto's dark mystery. Hiro was the illuminating and sunny kind of bright. He had such an open friendly face and honest disposition, that, despite his foreign origin, the idea of being his teammate seemed a bit like a warm summer day. Hah! It was like being on a team with the sun and the moon. And that made Remi the earth? Or maybe the stars or the sky. He supposed he'd have to find out.

Mizuraki-sensei even saw it, assigning the two as twins of a kind, with Remi himself adapting to the needs of the moment. It was a scrumptiously devious gambit. With their skills combined, they would probably be like a storm, a tsunami, a hurricane! With the sun and the moon on your side, you controlled the tides of battle. Remi was in good cheer.

Hiro was taken a bit aback by another arrival. Apparently, in addition to another team and a Kumo chunin, they would also be joined by a strange masked shinobi. Hiro eyed the mask, trying to recall what it meant. An... ANBU? Something like that. Are they coming, too? The man gave a rather stinging analysis of both Mizuraki-sensei and the team, comparing them to the more Spartan Ichika-sensei. He couldn't help but begin to feel insecure about himself and his own abilities. First the chunin had remarked on the group as just kids, then this Hideo person outright stated that between the two teams, Mizuraki's was the lesser. Incompetent. He had withdrew within himself when he heard both Ichika-sensei and Mizuraki-sensei sharply respond to the man. It seemed he had ruffled quite a few feathers here, to the point where Mizuraki-sensei seemed ready to draw blood. When their exchange ended, she returned her attention to her team. Where once she had given them a cheerful and earnest greeting, she now looked all business. In that moment, Hiro felt an emotion he hadn't felt before surge through his chest.

Mizuraki-sensei began detailing the organization of their team and how they would cover each others weaknesses, coming up with a simple and easy-to-follow formation, but Hiro also could tell that it was dangerously effective. Is this what operating as a team was like? The emotion flared, and Hiro couldn't stop his eyebrows from narrowing or his lips to curve into a grin. He felt elation, excitement, and a little nervousness, but that feeling in his chest was different. A challenge was placed in front of him and for what felt like the first time in his life, he felt like his pride was on the line. Alongside Bakuto, it was his job to apply pressure on foes while Remi would decide the best tool for cementing victory. Their teacher then warned them against pursuing glory, and that filling their assigned role was instrumental in achieving success. Hiro committed this to memory, noting her grave tone. He nodded, giving her an energized "Yes, sensei!"

He looked over as Bakuto pointed out something that had been looming over the group: the absolute nonsense of this arrangement. This was a truly massive amount of manpower they had amassed. Even if the majority of the people were fresh-faced genin, they were with four older, stronger shinobi. On top of that, they were taking this force into the domain of another sovereign nation, one that was once an enemy. When Bakuto mentioned capture and touched his prosthetic arm, Hiro's heart froze and he had to fight the instinct to immediately grip his own arm as well. Remi pointed out that such a strange assignment must have been decided by the higher-ups, and probably as a last-minute shift. That notion resonated within Hiro as well. He swallowed the bit of fear that had built after Bakuto's comments and spoke up.

"As long as we stick to Mizuraki-sensei's instructions and work as a team, we'll get through this!" He smiled reassuringly at both teammates. "This is definitely pretty weird, and I wasn't anticipating these... numbers." He subtly, or possibly not as subtly as he thought, side-eyed Hideo, more out of a mild intimidation than any rudeness or dismissal. Despite only just being put on the team, he already felt like he had to show the ANBU that their team was far from incompetent. "But either way, this is a good chance to prove ourselves as competent shinobi. Plus, who knows? We might even impress the Hokage."
