"Ah, It's You."  The Sankta would say in her chair, her halo illuminating the darkened room as the automated lock to her room was unlocked. It was a standard affair whenever they got a down-period. The APV wasn't driven at all hours of the night after-all unless they were specifically on a mission. Thus tonight without the low-hums of the engine gently shaking the room the gentle hissing of a door opening would be hard to miss.

"I assume you're here to perform to discuss the need for parts we can acquire from Rim Billiton." She would say as she would turn around to lock eyes with the old Liberi who was frowning at her. "Could you please not give me that look. It is functioning just fine. I promise I wasn't fiddling with your handiwork Alexander"  She would say as she would pick up her shirt that was draped over an open drawer. "It is simply nice to be able allow ones injuries to air properly in the privacy of ones quarters would you not consider it to be so?" She would say putting her shirt back on.

"Comfort or not, Lady Samael, though you surround yourselves with trusted mercenaries. They are still only mercenaries. Motivated by god knows what reasons. If someone with higher political power, or wealth could sway them to their side. It would be a detrimental secret to leak." The Liberi would say. "Many an organisation has been felled by insiders, Purgatorio would be no different." He would say giving his consul on the matter as he would divert himself back to his original intent for coming to her quarters.

"Indeed, one of the fuel injectors is on the fritz, I was hoping to salvage one from one of the machines of one of their numerous quarries." Prometheus would say his fingers going to his temple as he would think for a moment. "Which lucky for me, shouldn't be too hard to convince one of the Cautus to trade parts for food." The Engineer would say firmly. 

"Very well, you may take some of the rations for this, a safe and working generator is worth cutting partially into our food supply. Can't risk injury to those under my employ from a Originium Generator Explosion." She would say with a sigh. "However please do not barter with more rations if it would leave us with less then two weeks worth. Though Shelter is easy, feeding them properly is more likely to maintain loyalty then simply a cool truck." Samael would say as she would sigh simply.

"I assume we'll arrive in Rim Billiton at Noon. I'll perform an addressment to everyone then. Now would you kindly please sleep Prometheus. You'll need to keep a close eye on this ship for any wannabe thieves trying to rip some parts off our 'steed' If they are using children, scare them off, or bribe them off with some of my food rations. The place might be full of bad-actors but we cannot stoop to that level in how we treat the young."

The Sankta girl would finish listing her command to her trusted engineer as she'd motion that she was done talking for now. She too needed to get some shut-eye. Though her eyes would betray a lack of a proper restful sleep. Even she needed to at least try to get some rest. She would turn away, waiting for the door to close behind her. 

She would sigh as she stared at her bed. Very well. She was already in her night-shirt. She might as well attempt to relax her neck muscles. As she would lay upon it. Attempting to look up as her mind would think of what she was going to say tomorrow. What speech she would use. They were going to specifically aim for contracts that let them get near specific mining sites. In order to 'look' at what was going on inside. She would be asking her men to deal with originium slug infestations among other things. Nasty things in closed spaces. Still. Work was work. Light and dark mixed together was just the way of the world.

Chiaroscuro World

OOC

A world that is like, but not quite like the world of arknights that you are used to. Its story deviates from the stories presented within the original mobile game. So playing the mobile is not required to understand the roleplay, however doing so will help. Similarly due to the deviation in story, there will not be the presence of the characters that appear within the mobile game. 

However! everything else for the most part is exactly the same. Notably in the world and its functions. Mobile cities, the Catastrophes, Originium and the worlds reliance upon it and of course the infected are still very much issues that plague the continent of Terra. 

So with that out of the way. You are a part of Purgatorio, lead by the Infected Sankta Woman, Samael, a group of mercenaries that chase the forbidden knowledge of the world while doing mercenary work as a front in order to find and locate the origin of worlds secrets, such as the demons of the far north, and the creatures of the deep. The Laterano Popial Vault, and whatever other secrets lay undiscovered.

The Group you shall be employed to

The mercenary band known as Purgatorio, It is an elite group that carefully screens its applicants for their criminal histories, and prior achievements. It is invite only, and does not send out work contracts to be fulfilled by just about anyone. Because of this it can maintain a high amount of independence. Not being in the pocket of any nation. 

However of course because of its small size and focus on independence it is usually short on funds even at the best of times. Therefore having to perform contract work usually in exchange for money or supplies. They are known to sell relics and other items of interests on black markets, if they are simply items of 'value' like jewelry. Items of actual historic value are not sold and rather collected. As are ancient weapons and technology. 

The Main goal of Purgatorio is to uncover the secrets of the world and it likes to bolster its ranks with individuals willing to seek forbidden truths or Criminals that have been given a false conviction because the truth was shrouded by political black-tape. However the one stipulation is. The individuals must be Infected. This is not because 'Only infected have any worth' but because the locations that Purgatorio travel to are usually high in originite dust concentrations, as well as Originite rocks. So individuals that aren't infected will with a high probability become infected in this line of work...

And Samael does not wish that upon anyone.

People and Things of Importance

A woman whom speaks in a peculiar fashion. Samael is a Sankta whom operates in a rather peculiar fashion. For all intents and purposes she should be bearing the traits of a fallen Sankta horns and all and yet she does not, as many executors have tried and failed to kill her only to meet their own ends attempting to do so. Perhaps more scary is the fact that she has never once drawn her own gun, which remains on her person at all time. Perhaps out of sentimentality? Or perhaps because she only fires it when she needs to. That much is unknown.

When it comes to interacting with those that work alongside her in Purgatorio she portrays a caring persona, aided by how gentle her speech pattern is. One would not assume that they are in fact talking to a person whos hands are likely more stained then the rest of her organisation. A Sankta who's very name can get you a visit from the executors for questioning if spoken withing the territories of Laterano. Who's body would likely fetch a high bounty if brought before the right persons.

Such a dangerous individual would likely not be worth bartering with. Were it not for the fact that because of what she did within the Laterano territories her 'crime' is kept incredibly hush hush, left to the speculation of those around her. She herself is unable to speak of what it is, likely out of some contracted other, but... the order she was a part of was completely dissolved.

She is aware of the bounty she carries. Hence why she only surrounds herself with Mercenaries that she can judge wouldn't turn her in for a quick buck. Though she makes no falsehood in that any who attempt it will meet the end of a sword.

However. Most pressing is that Samael is infected. Rare for Sankta especially one that used to hold some level of authority within the Lateranian Society. Her infection is internal, and has overtaken much of her chest cavity which means she can easily overexert herself, as well as causing breathing to feel like she is impaling herself on glass. 

She is one of the few on-board medics. Personally overseeing the care of her men herself as per one of her mandates as leader. She feels personally responsible for any loss of life, and the forgotten names of those that she has worked beside are carved in beautiful cursive into her right arm. An arm that is mechanical in nature... If this is related to her infection or her escape from Laterano it is unknown. But she knows that she cannot just waltz back into its territory unprepared.

Even an arts user as strong as her, with the authority and numerous favours she has. Cannot hope to stand up to the Pope of Laterano and the militant guard. 

So instead of worrying about that, she continues to use her existence to try to uncover the secrets of the world. As she always has done. Any lie and deception will revealed, and she will understand what she watched on that record. The only Watcher that has ever chosen to remember what they had witnessed. 

A future over-run with monsters beyond comprehension...

An Old Liberi from Laterano who has served as Samael's body guard since he was a part of the Laterano Guard working as both a guard and engineer. Though his charge hasn't appeared to age much. He himself has grown old and past his prime as a guard, however he has only become even greater at engineering with age. Most of the things he produces are engines of war. Weapons that are built with the intent to end a conflict quickly and with as little bloodshed as possible. 

Adopting the mentality of "If you are going to fight, Win before it becomes a war" He primarily focus's on keeping the mercenaries of Purgatorios's weaponry and gear up to par. Familiar with many of the smithing methods across Terra. Though he offers his own unique style and if something perks his interest he will lock himself away in the engineering bay for days. 

Though he might not appear to be, He is indeed infected. His Leisons appearing on his wrists and forearms. Infected as a result of close proximity to, and providing direct medical attention to the lady that he has served dutifully. He is perhaps one of the few people that understand the nature of her 'betrayal' though he dare not discuss it with anyone, nor would he even say he possesses the knowledge.

Raythean Industries APV's are personal carriers capable of carrying up to 50 soldiers at a time, They are built to be rugged terrain crawlers capable of moving moderate to large units of mercenaries between Mobile cities in an armored container capable of shrugging off small to moderate arms fire. They are only normally capable of short jumps between Mobile Cities.

But the Purgatorio APV has been heavily modified, both within and without. So that it no longer truly resembles the factory produced models. Nearly everything has been reworked or replaced in some way with either custom built parts or salvaged tech.

It boasts two sets of tri-set Originium generators placed in a parallel formation, Two Personal Quarters, Split into genders, Though these personal quarters are much smaller then the greater landships and mobile cities, with bunk-beds being employed to save space and the lack of amenities they are still at the very least heated and have air circulating through them properly to try to at least offer some amount of comfort compared to the original design.  

There is also a hangar which while incredibly modest compared to behemoth landships. It still contains a considerable engineering bay, as well as a place to store its operatives vehicles. As long as they don't exceed a certain size. Motorbikes are very much easily stored within, but aircraft is unfeasible. 

It also features a holding-cell, and a single-room medical wing which in the case of emergencies. Will have to use the beds of one of the dorms simply because the vessel doesn't have the 'size' or the supplies to have it massively stocked up at all times. 

The main tactical strength of this small ship is not in its sheer fire power, but in its speed and its ability to mask its approach. As its small size lets it easily enter a 'stealth' mode that can prevent it from appearing on the radar technologies of larger land ships as well as heavily hampering the ability of arts-based detection. This is important as Purgatorio is not above recruiting convicts. So sometimes being able to flee a mobile city's armed forces can be useful.

Certainly while it is an incredible feat of engineering able to even (to the boast of its creator) 'survive a catastrophe in one piece' It cannot face a mobile city head-on. Sustained firepower will inevitably cause its destruction.

The engineer who created this vehicle 'Prometheus' has noted that there isn't quite another machine like this, and though he has received offers to sell the schematic of the vessel to other engineers who have taken great interest in a vehicle capable of evading detection technologies. He has denied the request.

Weaponry:

Technology in the world of Arknights is schewed. Weaponry therefore varies wildly. Of course there are two things to take note of. Firstly Gun's are extremely expensive to use due to ammunition costs or much too unwieldy for anyone but a sankta to use due to the them effectively being complex originium arts devices. As such ranged weaponry commonly takes the forms of crossbows. Similarly Mortars exist but those too use originite. 

Effectively weaponry is in a sort of weird 'half and half' if your unsure what weapons you can have, simply ask. 

State of Infection: (Fresh, Stablized, Advanced. Etc. This is the 'status' of your infection and how much it has ravaged your body, be it a little or a lot)
Oripathy Symptoms: 
Standard Symptoms can include the presence of Leisons which are black-rock like protrusions on the skin where crystallization has occured, But infection can also occur inwardly, infecting internal organs and structures, such as the nervous system, eyes, lungs etc. Similarly, write the outcome of this infection. E.g some individuals infected with oripathy can end up recieving a form of narcolepsy due to the extent of it. While others outwardly portray very few 'inhibiting' symptoms. It truely is a dice-roll on what the extent of an infection does to a person.

Casting Medium: A common fact when it comes to casting 'Arts' is that it is done through a medium, be it a staff, a wand or the users weapon itself. In this field, simply state the item that is used to channel your originium arts. Write here if the casting medium has anything special or unique about it

Manifested Arts: "The Power" that your arts takes the form of. There are many different variations of arts, from those that attack the mind, to those that manipulate certain aspects of the world, As well as the ability to conjure elemental attacks, or bolster your own physical abilities. Arts are as widely diversed as the people of Terra itself.

Three simple things to allow for a nice flowing RP experience.

1. Posting will be on a Weekly schedule, however if you will miss a posting week, this can be extended to a Biweekly Schedule. One post a week is all I ask minimum to avoid the RP experiencing thread death.
2. Arguments may occur, but if they do try to settle them in a civil manner. 
3. Finally, if you have any questions regarding the RP, need any clarifications, or simply wish to state that you have a future intention for your character that may need some groundwork put in place for on the GM side, do not hesitate to PM me!

†Appearance: Not shown: being about 3m tall, not including horns. Her appearance on the job is considerably different from around Purgatorio: for all Windshear's terrifying size, her coworkers are more likely to associate her with fluffy sweaters and jeans. Enemies tend to only see the heavy, black coat and deer-skull mask.
†Name: N/A. Or rather, as a Kazdel native, it just isn't important to her, and nobody uses or knows it.

†Race: Sarkaz (Wendigo)
†Personality: Despite her intimidating appearance and mastery of unsavoury arts, Windshear's reputation towards her associates is one that's, well... more mumsy than intimidating. If someone's hurt, then she'll do her best to take care of them (unless actual medical attention would be more appropriate); she's happily inclined to cook for as many people as needed--if a bit inclined to misjudging appropriate portions; and if someone won't take proper care of themselves and sleep... well, she'll put them to bed, and they can have fun struggling against it. It's quite surprising how shy and reserved someone who dominates any room with sheer size can be.
Enemies, of course, get the opposite end of the stick: convinced that she's a terrifying, monstrous foe whose very desire to see them dead overwhelms one's ability to move (that, of course, is her arts). Whilst she's thoroughly ruthless, she isn't malevolent to anywhere near that extent. 
†History: Windshear is old, despite her appearance. As such, her history stretches back long before Purgatorio, replete with that age-old stereotypical Sarkaz profession: mercenary work beyond Kazdel's tiny borders. It was a period of her life where she went through multiple names, and earned a terrifying reputation befitting her stature and the history of the wendigo.
Eventually, it got... too much. Even with longevity and being well-suited to fighting, constantly seeing what effective children sign up to die or throwing themselves at much more experienced mercenaries grew... intolerable. But having picked up Oripathy after a lifetime of originium exposure, retiring to a city somewhere would have been difficult--nor would it have let her avoid those who still knew her.
Instead, she settled in a rural town, confident that nobody would come out to the middle of nowhere chasing rumours of some old merc. It didn't work like that, however--Samael, somehow, got wind of her early on and sought to recruit the Sarkaz for her abilities and arts resistance. With her hiding spot somehow compromised so easily, she eventually acquiesced and joined up, putting her old contacts to use recruiting new members--Purgatorio, at least, was better than most mercenary jobs.
†Weaponry: In general, none aside from her staff.

‡Physical Prowess: Given her overall physique, one would describe Windshear's physical prowess as merely average, or even slightly below average considering what her race is known for. Though once you factor in her sheer size, it's considerably different--her endurance and strength are still exceptional.
‡Expertise: "About average" is her self-assessment... coming from a culture where almost everyone knows how to use swords. Good would be the more common description, although still nothing exceptional.


†Originium Arts:
‡Casting Medium: A staff, which is only noteworthy as a casting focus for being sized correctly. Slightly more alarming is the rings handing from it--half a dozen or more-, which themselves are each fixed through the handles of a weapon. Mostly swords, but the old gun is definitely a standout.
‡Manifested Arts: Windshear's name gives a strong indication of where her talents lie: controlling air, or more specifically its pressure and the direction this pressure is being exerted from. Other than the obvious utility of just bowling people over, this is useful for restricting movement simply by exerting heavy pressure, either offensively or for defensive benefit. As a direct weapon, it can be used for poking holes in people, or the generally much messier results of passing through extreme pressure gradients... or incredibly low-pressure environments. Of course, like any other such powerful effect, this takes time.
However, her own specific arts aren't all--although very rarely put into practice, due to its unsavoury reputation and preparation requirements, and the absurd danger it presents even to allies, this wendigo is versed in witchcraft. Something that nobody wants to see.

Here's the beginning of a CS. I'll be finishing it through the week if time allows it:

Race: Vulpo
Birthplace: Siracusa
Personality: Ardenne is normally a nice person to hang around. She doesn't talk much but isn't bothered by others' long-winded spiels. In fact, she prefers to listen, and make a witty remark here and there while engaged in any kind of conversation. She does like to crack a few jokes and comments, showing she isn't devoid of any sense of humor—in fact, she has a bit of a grim one—but her past life as a fixer for a formerly prominent Siracusan family taught her that words are always better when used with caution. Perhaps, that's why her personal hobbies are always things she can enjoy alone, like reading, playing board games, and watching movies, despite not being a "lone wolf" as they would say back in her homeland.
History: Ever since her youth, Ardenne worked as a servant to a well-established Siracusan family. First, she served merely as a housemaid, after all, pure-blooded Wolves always look down on Foxes like Ardenne. However, once she became old enough to handle a blade on her own, and discovered she was capable of channeling Arts, Ardenne quickly rose to become one of their top fixers.

Everything changed when she was sent on a mission to deal with the heir of a rival family away from Siracusa, on a business trip to Laterano, dealing with some dangerous contraband. While Ardenne succeeded in the hit, she also got infected after being hit with shards of an illegal originium bullet. If she were a Wolf, probably that wouldn't have mattered so much for the family, but being a Fox, Ardenne was cast away: discarded by the only family she ever knew.

Perhaps, it was fate at work that the aftermath of her Laterano hit put Ardenne in contact with Purgatorio, her new home for the time being.
Weaponry: Rain-Cutter, a sword built by a reliable Columbian defense equipment contractor. Other than working as an exceptionally effective weapon, it also functions as a staff to channel Ardenne's Arts.
Oripathy Infection Details
State of Infection: Stable for roughly the last couple years.
Oripathy Symptoms:  Visible ore lesions on her arms and legs, especially around her right thigh. No signs of crystallization have been noticed on her internal organs at the moment.
Skills
Physical Prowess: While Ardenne is no slouch, owing to her races' innate litenes, her physical prowess can be described at most as good. She isn't built to trade blows for prolonged periods but at least Ardenne has the stamina needed to perform long solo missions.
Expertise: Vulpos are agile and have a decent knack for Originium Arts, both of which are strong points of Ardenne's toolkit and the reason with she was such a feared fixer for so long. Also, she's surprisingly good with household chores, from gardening to cooking, all thanks to her time serving as a housemaid.
Originium Arts
Casting Medium: Ardenne used to channel her Arts through her sword, Rain-Cutter before being infected. Now that she became a victim of Oripathy, she can manipulate even without it. Though, she still keeps to her old methods since she still lacks fine control when casting without a staff.
Manifested Arts: Ardenne's Arts deal with control over wind and water, a more localized and specific form of weather control focusing on mist and rain. She can use it for ranged attacks, and enhancing her fighting skills as well as other utilities like imprisoning her enemies, deflecting attacks, and even making clones of herself. However, the most unique application of her Arts and what made Ardenne such a valuable fixer was her skill with illusions and camouflage.

A curious aspect about Ardenne's Arts is that when she's using her most overt abilities, she tends to exude a gentle fragrance, like the distinct smell of rain hitting a flowerbed at the end of a scorching day. To this day, many of the rivals of Ardenne's previous family still draw their blades whenever rainfall hits their beloved garden for fear that she might be coming for them. Maybe one day, she'll.

I don't even know if anyone's around for this still, but here's my sheet. I was gone for the last couple of weeks, and I don't like leaving a IC/OOC thread hanging.

Appearance: Here.
Name: Michael 
Codename: Hal
Race: Sankta
Personality: It would be hard to picture the lighthearted Hal as a mercenary. He seemingly does it for the thrill, rather than needing money or any other reason. But his carefree manner downplays the diligent sniper underneath, and he can be trusted to be relied on for whatever work he's sent on. Whenever Hal is off-duty, he can be seen trying to chat up anyone he feels like talking to, whether they want to or not. However he's not completely oblivious to people's feelings, and will hold back his words if he thinks that he might push them too far.
History: According to Hal, he was just a simple citizen of Laterano. Due to an incident that left him infected, he was exiled from his homeland. He then decided on becoming a mercenary on a whim. 

The truth is a little more complicated than that. Hal was caught in the crossfire of his mother's work as an executor of the Notary Hall. He himself has no clue what exactly he inadvertently got into, only that it involved contracts being broken, his involvement was a complete accident, and that it resulted in a lot of casualties in the end. Joining Purgatorio wasn't a mere coincidence either, as he had heard the leader's name before. While he doesn't remember where or how he knew the name, it was enough to make him interested in joining the group. 
Weaponry: Hal carries a modified revolver as his gun, capable enough to pierce armor. But as bullets are incredibly expensive, he's used to wielding a bow instead. He also carries a knife on his person, for any close-quarters confrontations.

Oripathy Infection Status:
State of Infection: Stable. Hal has received treatment from the very beginning of his infection.
Oripathy Symptoms: Hal displays no physical symptoms currently.

Skills:
Physical Prowess: Hal is surprisingly quick on his feet, and his good reflexes mean few can catch him by surprise. Otherwise, he's rather average, although he's somewhat stronger than normal, given that he uses a bow with little difficulty.
Expertise: As a Sankta, Hal is at home displaying his talent as a very capable sniper. Other than that, he's used to filling in for others, becoming a jack of all trades due to all the odd jobs he's done.

Originium Arts:
Casting Medium: His weapons, and anything metallic.
Manifested Arts: Hal's art involves magnetism, although due to lack of training, he manifests it in uncomplicated ways. He mainly uses it to augment his shots, letting him control projectiles to make seemingly impossible shots with ease. He can also "charge" up an object of his choosing, letting it create a magnetic pulse that disables electronics, and attracts any nearby metallic objects.
