Just wanted to post to say I'm still thinking on an idea, just trying to come up with something that doesn't pose too much overlap and fits in well!

@Feyblue Hmmm... you brought up good points, thus, I've decided to follow your advice and just go forward with my original concept!

And so, my CS is up for review!

Still, if you want to expand on your bio or redo stuff, go right ahead! No worries either way~.

So I can stay crazy fantasy! Great, real life is boring.
I’ve been editing periodically and she might be in a finished state now - of course, I also thought that yesterday. So I’ll just call her a WIP until IC time, but there shouldn’t be further major changes.

Was also wondering, Fey. Are we still sticking to the whole reverse harem otome game vibe, or does a larger cast mean that we go more for general fantasy RPG hijinks?

I feel like a lot of the early stages of the RP will still have that goofy otome game sort of vibe, with lots of comic misunderstandings and general hijinks to sort of establish the characters and get them to work together and learn the POWER OF FRIENDSHIP! (and maybe start getting a few crushes too idk)

However, with a larger group, I think I'll start to move towards a more Tales of series-esque plotline with actual important stuff going on the further we go, and big revelations about the world... and our cast of wacky weirdos getting tossed headlong into it.

But, well, that also depends on how well the RP does. I find it's best not to worry about long term stuff too much early on, since things will change in countless ways you can't predict by the time you actually get there. Suffice to say, the kid arc is gonna be mostly goofy and fun, with maybe a little bit of shoujo plot on the side with love triangles and misunderstandings and other stuff popping up -- but it may get more serious as we go, so don't feel restricted to just solely doing rom-com stuff.

Posting again so the mention goes out properly, but...

@Izurich It just occurred to me. Since Liese's birth was recorded as the only child and heir apparent by default the family, then does that mean that the identity of "Liese" the knight candidate isn't a secret? I mean, just by being a rare genius in the form of an Absolute, the knights probably wouldn't risk losing that kind of talent by saying "no," but it would definitely cause some controversy and a lot of people assuming that it's just the childish whims of a spoiled girl and "she'll give up soon enough." Could be a good reason, too, why your chara ends up sorted into the misfit squad with our gang of doofuses -- it's just another way of quietly encouraging "her" to give up and go study under the royal magicians for the good of the country rather than chasing weird dreams of knighthood, or something.

Also also, I actually REALLY like the cosmic coincidence of the Null and the Absolute who might be a reincarnation of Alexander himself looking like they're twins. Makes for some fun plot and themes and stuff. :3

@Feyblue

Here's my character submission! Again, I welcome critique or feedback from the rest of you all, since I wasn't part of the discussions back in the original interest check. Hopefully he'll fit in well, although I don't know what traditional "Otome" route archetype he'd qualify for! XD

Hmmmmm… that’s another good point, and I like it, yes, both OOCly interesting to distinguish the two bifauxnens (aka: “Reverse-Traps”) further and ICly logical. It’ll be hilarious for the more feminine of the two to be the one actually disguised as a boy while the other’s physical gender is a public secret.

Let’s implement the idea!

Okay, so I'm starting to get something of an idea I think.

I really like playing tsunderes, so I'm considering a character along those lines, since I feel like my initial idea of super dashing extremely pretty boy knight who actually turns out girl who is either unintentionally or 100% intentionally flirtatious towards other girls is actually a bit too much of an overlap right now with some other cast members so far.

We've got like two characters here who aren't actual nobility, if you're interested in diversity then Dime could use some more company down in the pits than just Mister Raised-by-Wolves
I can imagine she'll get along with him better than most, but like... the commonfolk aren't usually outnumbered

Wouldn’t have overlap if you just make your flirtatious pretty boy knight an actual boy though.

Also Snib, the commonfolk can totally be outnumbered in institutions that favour the noble or the wealthy.

This, pretty much. I was going to make the whole "debut spar" thing into sort of a showcase for that. Candidates from powerful, established families are welcomed first after a basic exam, and then they serve as opponents from those who don't have any such reputation to vouch for them, giving them a chance to prove themselves... which also gives the nobles some "easy" opponents to show off their own skills by trouncing the incompetent. However, in that sense, the deck is sort of stacked against the commoners, since they actually have to show that they can hold their own in a fight one way or the other in order to get noticed. The nobility just sort of has to show up.

That's still not to say it's untenably hard to get accepted as a commoner, because the knights do generally accept a lot of candidates and then cull the herd as they go -- it's just they have to work a bit harder than most, so there's probably fewer of them as a result.

Real knighthood favors the noble, but this one will take any volunteer, so it ought to be near enough to a social cross-section, excepting fringe bits of logic like farming families not being interested in sparing their numbers
Play who you like, but anyone undecided is invited to go low-class

Probably also a matter of what education they’d receive before getting in. You have people like Julian who basically start out like those starter units in Fire Emblem that are massively over leveled and there to carry you through the first couple of chapters…and they’re like this before even applying to join the Knights.

Meanwhile you have commoners who were probably taught how to do their parents’ jobs.

I like how you already mistook Liese for Julian even before the RP starts.

Very nice. 8D Yes, yes, let the "twins" flow through you.

Hey y'all! Just read through the OOC and there's a lot of great ideas and characters floating around already. I'd like to toss my hat in the ring if there's still room left.

I think it'd be funny if, after he spends enough time around both of them, Kai becomes one of the few who can regularly tell them apart because he does it solely by scent, and then is always confused when other people can't. XD

"Yeah! Kai's a good boy! There's no reason to talk about him and his family like they're animals!"

*headpats with absolutely zero self-awareness or sense of irony*

...I can already tell that this is going to be delightfully chaotic.
