Name: The Detective. They are sometimes called just Detective.

Age: Not clear. They look to be in their late twenties or mid-thirties.

Race: For all intents and purposes The Detective is just a regular boring mortal human.

Appearance: The Detective is approximately 6 foot even and weighs about two hundred and ten pounds of what is basically muscle. They are slight with the muscular of a runner. Their blonde hair is shaggy like they forgot to comb it. They have striking red eyes that seem to glow when they experience high emotions, good or bad, and when they do magic. They wear dark shades to hide their eyes from view. Other than that, they look fairly average. If a regular mortal walked pass them on the street, they would be ignored. The Detective does have an impressive, if invisible, aura. If a magic user passed them, they would certainly take notice. They typically wear turtlenecks in a variety of colors and black dress slacks.

Personality: The Detective appears mostly calm and collected. Even when angered or joyful the only indications seem to be on their face. They are calculating and constantly thinking at least ten steps ahead. They always act polite no matter the situation and act respectful to everyone. They appear make no friends, only friendly acquaintances. They do have a plethora of enemies, but even those seem friendly and cordial. Threatening an Innocent or the delicate balance of The City is enough to enrage them completely. An entity who does either immediately jumps to the top of The Detective’s “To Kill ASAP” list. They are a stickler for what they call The Rules, but good luck getting them to explain what exactly The Rules are.

Background: The Detective’s story can only be gleaned from those who have seen and remembered. Some who have lived that long say that The Detective was there at the beginning of The City. Other question how a person who is basically a mundane could live that long. There are times when the Detective will tell a piece of The City’s history almost as if they were there, but they quickly catch themselves and change the wording. For a person who solves mysteries there are sure a lot of them surrounding The Detective.

Skills and Abilities: No one quite knows what the full range of The Detective’s magic is. They have been seen doing magic from a variety of systems. The only thing that seems to consistent is that they must follow the rules and accept the consequences off the system they are currently using. They are also an expert in a variety of marital arts and are an excellent runner. They avoid nonmagical weapons but can use a staff with surprising ease and is a damn good shot with any one-handed gun. Their healing factor is also far beyond normal, i.e. broken bones heal in as little as a day and they can shake concussions off. They are also extremely knowledgeable about the any magic one might encounter in The City.

Equipment: Somehow, it’s not clear how, they always have what they need when they need it only to lose it when they are done with it. The only thing they don’t seem to lose is their older smartphone, their knife with one silver edge and one stainless steel edge, and their box of chalk in a variety of colors.

Weakness: Being basically human does mean that the Detective can get injured by most weapons or by stubbing a toe or a paper cut. They also require food, water, and sleep. It appears that The Detective has needed more than a normal amount of sleep lately. It’s not clear why this is.

• Unfortunately, my power plays by Rules, I can’t break them, even if I wanted to, which I don’t.
• You don’t honestly expect me to go for that do you? It breaks all The Rules.

Name: Samael

Age: Unknown. Certainly, older than mankind. Possibly older than the world.

Race: Is he a demon or a fallen angel. It’s not even clear if even Samael knows at this point.

Appearance: Samael appears to be a teenage boy about 16 or 17 with ink dark hair braided into cornrows and tied back in a ponytail and ebony skin. He is only five foot four inches but is bulky like an American football player or Mexican luchador. He dresses like a human teenager in pants that sag and pullover hoodies. His eyes appear orange and when he uses his power in human form they glow like fire. In his demonic form Samael grows 2 feet and puts on a corresponding amount of bulk. His skin turns ash grey and his eyes appear to catch on fire. He also grows skeletal wings that are indeed capable of flight. He remains dressed in whatever he was wearing but it will tear to accommodate his growth. Whether in demonic form of human form he does everything with a smile on his face.

Personality: Samael is sadistic, but it is a cruel and somehow clean sadism. He does not seem to get angry no matter the situation. He does not plot or scheme. He is surprisingly honest about his intentions and his goals. He seems perfectly polite and affable, but there is something about his veneer that just sets everyone who talks to him into high alert. He does not seem to mind this or make any attempt to hide this. He wants to freak people out. He does not appear to put effort into his plans and plots, but he doesn’t appear to be lazy either. Samael does things because he wants to, because he can. His affableness sets people on edge. He doesn’t make friends, but he doesn’t make enemies either. If he decides you are an enemy, he will just kill you. If he can’t he forgets about it and moves on.

Background: Samael was an angel. Then he Fell just because he wanted to. Then he became a demon to see what it was like. There is no tragedy here. There is no trauma. Samael does what Samael wants, and it has been that way for longer than history can record.

Skills and Abilities: Destruction, specially destruction via fire. If it’s fire Samael can create it, shape it, and destroy it. He can appear human. He has demonic strength and speed. In his demonic form he can fly. He can also step between the mundane world and Inferno pretty easily.

Weakness: Maybe water? It would make sense that it would be water given the fact that he uses fire for the most part, but given the fact that Samael can move from the mortal plane to Inferno as quick as breathing this has never been tested. As he is a demon so he may have a weakness to holy symbols and rites, but again, this has not been tested.

Equipment: A phone, a car, a credit card. What more does Samael need?

• I took it because I wanted to, and they couldn’t stop me.
• If you kill me, I suppose that will just be that. You’ll win. I’ll lose. There’s no point in getting all upset about it.
• You’re missing the point. This isn’t about honor or rules. It is because I can. It’s just that simple.

Name: Eris

Age: A couple dozen centuries at least. She basically lost track over the decades.

Race:

Appearance: Eris is short, 4 foot 6 inches and only weight about 95 pounds. However, she appears to take up more space than she actually does. Her left eye is neon pink while her right eye is fluorescent green. Or maybe the right one is electric blue while the left one is burning red. Or is it ultra Violet and piercing orange? Do they change? They probably change. Her sheet straight hair that falls to her knees in a glossy curtain of wheat blonde does not that is for certain. Her hips are wide, and her chest is robust. That plus a certain allure draws the eyes of everyone that swings that way and many eyes of those that don’t. Her skin is almond with pink undertones. She is typically seen in maxi skirts, strappy wedge sandals, and cropped t-shirts.

Personality: Eris is crazy, psychotic, gleeful, deranged. Pick one of these words or a synonym and she will only be flattered. She wears every emotion on her face and with her body. When she rages, her piercing shrieks fill the air. When she is depressed, her mournful tears claim the sky. When she is joyful, her ringing laugher echoes in ears. She switches from one emotion to another and then to another like a person flipping a switch or turning a dial. Eris loathes when things don’t go her way. She thrills in torturing people and destroying things. She has no patience and will whine if she can’t do what she wants to do right when she wants to so it. She is, in short, a vibrant psychopath.

Background: She was Mab’s interrogator for centuries. But then even her methods upset the Unseelie Queen. Eris was sentenced to die. She ran instead sowing chaos in her retreat. She has been in the mundane world for centuries sowing chaos, disorder, and mayhem, as she impatiently awaits her time to take revenge on Mab and claim what she believes is her rightful place as the Unseelie Queen.

Skills and Abilities: Eris is skilled in torture and “interrogation.” She is capable of causing great pain while leaving little to no mark. She can also dip into a person’s mind without them even realizing she is there to discover their fears in order to use them against her victim. She also has the ability to cause a person or place bad luck. She uses this primarily to cause destruction and despair.

Weakness: Eris is Fae, so it is believed that the basic Fae weaknesses would be hers as well, things like iron or rowan. However, this cannot be proven. She has been seen handling iron even if it is while wearing gloves, and she is not distracted by shiny things.

Equipment: She has a full, well Eris calls it a workshop, full of all things needs for torturing individuals no matter their species. She spends most of her time her with her victims. She also has a small gold ring on her right index that she uses to channel her magic. She refuses to use modern technology.

Quips:
• Why? I don’t want to wait! I shouldn’t have to wait! I WON’T WAIT!
• Ah! Your cries of fear are exquisite. But can you scream for me now?
• I WILL TEAR IT ALL DOWN! And I will enjoy every moment of it.

Name: Bob

Age: Older than the Big Bang. Younger than your next breath

Race: Bob is a demigod of Order.

Appearance: There is a not a single stitch out of place, not a single flyaway hair, not one unsightly blemish on Bob. He is completely symmetrical and utterly flawless. He is also disturbingly average. Picking him out of a group of people would be impossible. He is neither tall nor short. He is not fat or thin. His hair is just brown. His skin is just tan. Bob switches from male to female. Even then she is average. Even then she is symmetrical and flawless. Even then she is hidden in plain sight. In either form, Bob wears impeccable suits. As a female she wears high heeled stilettos pumps. As a male he wears business loafers. Both time the shoes are polished to an impeccable shine. The suits are black with white shirts and black ties. Bob is average, forgettable, flawless, pristine.

Personality: Bob is patience personified. He is willing to wait however long it takes to see his plans to completion. She requires order. Nothing must be out of place. If something is out of place Bob’s anxiety will soar though the roof. That does not mean that Bob displays his emotions. She never does. It is impossible to know what he is thinking or feeling at any time. He is not cruel, but he is not merciful. She is calculating. Every step is planned every move is mapped. Bob does not believe in doing anything without a reason, and everything Bob does has one.

Background: Before the universe began there was Order. Bob reigned supreme. Now his power is hampered and changed. She will correct this. When the universe is over Order will once again rule. Bob will see it happen. As a side note, Bob’s name has changed over the years to follow social conventions. It was not always Bob and will not be Bob in the future. It is just Bob now.

Skills and Abilities: Bob is a demigod of Order. He can put everything in supposed place in seconds. She is capable of folding the laws of physics to suit her purposes. It’s just what he believes the correct order is isn’t always what others think it is.

Weakness: Bob is a demigod or grand Order, so maybe small Chaos? Hopefully. It’s also possible she has some form of OCD. But if that is the case how does he work with creatures that cause disorder so much?

Equipment: Anything, everything, nothing.

• Rules provide systems and systems are good yes, but they do not compare to true Order.

Name: Cain, Lesser Envy

Age: Thousands of years old, at this point he’s lost track

Race: He likes to think of himself as the human he originally was

Appearance:

Cain is a 5’8 middle eastern man with a somewhat muscular build who looks to be in his 30’s, with brown eyes and black hair. He keeps his curly hair short and has a well maintained beard covering his jawline. He bears the Mark of Cain on his right forearm. He often wears well tailored suits with many more inside pockets than would be standard.

Personality: When Cain was younger he had a lot of emotional issues he had to work through. He wanted back the life he had before he was exiled from paradise. Even after building the first city and ruling over his own people, he wanted more. He would often go out and simply take things that he wanted from anyone he came across.

After thousands of years though Cain has mellowed out in that regard. He still sometimes takes a physical item that he thinks would be better in his hands than in the hands of someone else. But now he longs for things he can’t simply take from others. A sense of belonging, a sense of purpose. He is envious of those who have these things, and they are things he fears he will never have.

Background: Cain did indeed kill his brother all those years ago, he won’t deny it. He did it for the reasons you think, he wanted what Abel had. Abel was the favourite, and being young and stupid, Cain thought if Abel was gone then he would become the favourite. He was wrong, and for his crime he was exiled from paradise and cursed with signature mark. The part about it reflecting harm back sevenfold is a lie, it was simply made to grant him immortality. He would never die of old age. Things are never quite that simple though, the curse also imbued him with strange abilities.

Ages passed, Cain saw the rise and fall of civilizations. He found success for himself wherever he went, trying to sate the envy that started this long life he has now cursed to. His envy even extended to children, though not in the same way it did to others. He always envied their innocence, their limitless optimism that he could never again achieve.

When these feelings get to be too much, Cain will use the one magic spell that he can truly call his own, that he did not copy from anyone else. It is a spell that allows him to view the memories of a recently deceased person, to experience the innocence of childhood and the normal life that he will never have again. He will go out and murder someone society won't miss, it's easier to keep his hands clean that way. The spell stops the soul from going to the afterlife, instead subsuming it into himself. He feels no regret for these souls, they were the dregs of society anyways, and they had something that he wanted. His feelings are never sated for long though, and he repeats the process, trying to fill the void inside himself.

The spell gives Cain any abilities the deceased may have had, in exchange he sometimes hears their disembodied voices in his head. On very rare occasions a particularly strong personality can cause Cain to say what they're thinking. He has learned to keep them in check and mostly tune them out at this point.

Nowadays Cain is on the board of directors for several companies and lives off of thousands of years of wealth accruement. The Detective somehow got his private number which was enough to get Cain intrigued. Hearing the job was to protect children, well, Cain would never be able to find it in his heart to say no.

Skills and Abilities: Cain is skilled in hand to hand combat, but his real strength comes from his cursed mark. On top of keeping him alive and looking young, it has given him the ability to copy the traits of objects. This is often used to copy stone and iron, making his body tough to injure and incredibly strong. He keeps uncommon items in his pockets to be prepared for circumstanced where specific properties are very useful. Such as tungsten to make himself basically heatproof.

He can also copy the abilities of others, this includes both mundane skills and supernatural ones. His level of proficiency will change based on how able he is to do the skill normally and how often he has copied this particular skill.

For a mundane example, copying an expert singer would allow him to sing well, but he could not hit notes his vocal chords can't make nor would he have an increased lung capacity. If he copied a gymnast he would have better balance and maneuverability but it would not allow him to do the splits because his body is not that flexible.

In terms of magic, it would be as though he was a novice of whatever type of magic his target could do. Of course, being around for thousands of years has given him an understanding of most magic systems. He can use basic spells of almost any type he copies, and if he copies the same magic multiple times he will get more proficient.

Weakness: The most mundane of Cains weaknesses is that he can still be killed with a simple gun or knife to the gut. If taken by surprise then his long life would end. Cain also has a deep fear of wolves, and facing them would greatly impact his ability to act rationally.

On the magical side of things, gaining the properties of things also includes any obvious downsides. Such as stone and metal causing him to move slowly. He also can’t maintain this change in body permanently. The amount of time he can maintain a property changes based on how much stress he is under. The more activity he’s doing, the less it will last. When copying the magical ability of someone he is not as proficient as they would be, especially when it comes to magic. He would need to practice after taking their ability to become more proficient.

Finally, his magical abilities need physical contact to work. He can not copy someones abilities without touching them (through clothes works). The longer he is in contact the more he can absorb.

Equipment: He carries a knife with him, the Cursed Blade. It is carved from the rock he used to kill his brother. It will always magically materialize in its holster at his side after a short time if it is separated from him. As far as he knows it can kill anything as long as it is wielded by him.

Quips: Cain doesn’t like dogs, he’s definitely a cat person.

Cain has a working relationship with Aodh. He came upon her in a cave, or more specifically he came upon her sword. He had always admired the swords of the angels, they were much nicer than his blade. So he tried to take it. Aodh came out of the cave and quite nearly ripped his arm off before seeing his Mark. Luckily she decided to strike up a conversation instead of striking him down on the spot. Being two souls who were both banished from paradise gave them a lot in common. They went their separate ways, but every few centuries Aodh would call up Cain asking for his help. He never said no, her targets were always ripe for acquiring memories for him to absorb, and perhaps they had some nice worldly possessions as well.

Name: Ivan Peters

Age:Over many millennia old

Race:Shapeshifter, though usually takes the form of a human or gorilla(the gorilla is his main form so he doesn't have to wear any pants. xD)

Appearance:Human form is a black bearded dude with gold eyes and a large bald spot reaching to most of his head. He looks pretty youthful for being there since the Big Bang, looking like he’s in his mid-forties at least, while also usually having the energy of a toddler on crack. He usually wears bright colors, long sleeved shirts, and pants(even though he doesn't like to).

He has a long, crooked nose, as well as two missing front teeth, with gold fillings to replace them. He also has short black hair, has a fat physique(but isn't overweight), and tanned skin from being outside a lot.

His many animal forms, however, all look like regular animals, except for one thing: They all have gold eyes.

Personality:Ivan is a cold, ruthless assassin, who will stop at nothing to-

Lol, just kidding. xD

In reality, Ivan is energetic, dramatic, and enthusiastic. He will do anything for money, including tricking innocent people out of it, but would never hurt them for no reason out of it, and doesn’t ever include innocent civilians in his shady deals.

His favorite type of money is gold, and he would swim in it if he could. Unfortunately, he’s not Scrooge McDuck, so he settles for collecting as much as he can instead. He’ll settle for other types of money, though! Really, he just loves money. xD

He’s also strangely cheerful and friendly? Like, he’ll greet anyone, even his enemies, with a huge grin, but with his enemies, there’s usually some malice behind it. Despite being constantly underestimated due to his personality, he’s actually able to plan ahead when he wants to, and can actually be a clever trickster when he feels like it, as well as spiteful when something really pisses him off.

Background:Ivan just kind of wandered around after the dawn of time and the formation of Earth, becoming many influential figures in the process. His most famous, and the one he had the most fun with, is Blackbeard, so much so that he still has his centuries-old pirate gear in his bedroom, and still wishes to traverse the seven seas again. Either way, he’s always been involved with humans, has always tried to get the most money he could, and has always tried to have fun, even when he’s in danger.

As for how he got involved, he’s a business magnate in The City, going by the name Ivan Peters, and upon hearing about the Outcasts harming Innocents for no good reason(in his eyes, anyway), he got his long suffering assistant, Ms. Smith, to handle his massive wealth and soon got in contact with The Detective.

Skills and Abilities:He has enhanced physical abilities(including enhanced strength), is fast and athletic even for his build, puts up a hell of a fight when caught, and, of course, his shapeshifting ability.

Weakness:He can only shapeshift into animals, not other people, and his other weakness is his heels, which can down Ivan almost immediately if they get stabbed/shot. He'll need to recover for a day or two if he gets shot there. He's invulnerable everywhere else, though.

Also, the shapeshifting takes around four seconds to complete, meaning someone could easily take advantage of that time to tackle Ivan. It also hurts a bit, but not by a lot, but the hurt does build up over time, meaning Ivan has to be careful to not use it too much. Larger/flying animals are tricky as well, seeing as Ivan has to make more mass/throw up a whole lot of bones and make some new ones in order to shapeshift into them, meaning that it takes longer(like 5-6 seconds).

When in a smaller form, he acts and thinks more with base animal instincts, and kind of also picks up the stereotypical traits of that animal. Like, for mouse, Ivan would suddenly be timid and jumpy when a mouse, hungry and opportunistic when a seagull, quiet and calm when a raven, etc., etc.

Ivan is also rather cocky, meaning he can underestimate people and see them as "punks not worth the effort". He can also be rash when angry, too, and considering that he's short tempered, that's probably not a good sign.

Equipment:He has a pair of special knuckle dusters that allow him to use his enhanced strength to get extra good hits on his enemies. Oh, and also, his phone.

Quips:”There’s gold in them hills!”

“Argh, lassie, I was indeed Blackbeard a long time ago! Now, what’s your question?”

“Oh, I see! When Green Goblin’s civilian alter ego has a lot of money, he’s “a cool threat to Spiderman”, but when I have a lot of money, I’m “a part of the one percent”! Double standard, much!?”

(He also steals and robs from the dead in order to get gold, so take that as you will. Hehe-)

Name: Aodh, fallen angel of Wrath

Age: around 4,000

Race: angel

Appearance:
Aodh stands 5'8" tall. She is a average/athletic build and has very pale skin. She has piercing blue eyes and her hair is grey. She is able to alter her appearance slightly depending on necessity, and so often is not seen with her wings. She tends to wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing, and is not a fan of bright colors. She always has a weapon on her person, just not usually visible.

Personality: Aodh is driven by truth and justice. She believes a balanced scale is poetry. She hates to see injustice against anyone and can be a very kind, caring person. She does come across often as cold or introverted or standoff-ish at times. This is due to her advanced age. She finds the less you speak the less you have to apologize for later. Aodh does have a switch that flips in her, though. When someone is treated unfairly or abused or even murdered, she will lose focus of everything else, and she feels out of control as she responds to these situations. When she saves lives, she's blind to the cost and it's one of the only times she feels joy. When she fails, she has been known to vomit, kill someone else who has barely sinned to make her feel better, or go hide in a cave for a while. When she isolates, she is contemplative and tries to contain the bloodlust inside her. She'll emerge calm and more patient, but it never lasts. It affects her much more than making the wrong choice. When she accidentally kills the wrong person, she rationalizes it, confesses it to the sky, and feels guilty for maybe a day or two. She does her best to justify her actions and push that particular guilt away. She knows evil will always exist, and perhaps she is evil to many people. However, she does her best to channel the Wrath inside her towards those she deems more evil that herself.

Background: Aodh began her life as a guardian angel. She would be moved from human to human as they passed on. However, one day, the 5 year old she was supposed to be guarding was lured away from home. Aodh was distracted by a couple of demons who were in on the whole ordeal, when the little girl was murdered. Aodh felt the weight of a thousand earth's fall onto her shoulders. She carried the guilt and shame, and it began to make her fearful. She was scared of failing, of injustice being done, of losing another innocent. But she could not stop it from happening again and again to other angels' children and assignments. The fear began to drive her mad until it became anger. A bubbling river of fury that she began to unleash on anyone, creature or human, that harmed innocent ones.
The first case of Aodh truly snapping was when she heard of a human serial killer targeting children. At that time she was still a guardian angel and so had an assigned sword that was supposed to only be used against supernatural beings who might harm only her assigned person, never a human. Those were the rules she'd always been held to. However, she did her own kind of detective work, and managed to stalk the man who was committing the crimes. She tied him up and tortured him for several hours before finishing him off. She was ridiculously happy afterwards and thought she'd be rewarded, but instead was reprimanded for breaking so many rules. She tried to be sneakier about her activities after that, but when one time she killed the wrong person, it triggered her to confess what she'd been doing, and thus she was expelled, kicked out of heaven and sentenced to live on earth til Judgment Day. She is still in possession of her powers as an angel, but none of the authority she had. So she can still use her powers, but every time she does use them for anything related to Wrath, it is another red mark in her ledger. And considering she becomes another being almost, something with red eyes and a lust for vengeance, she has a lot of red marks against her.
Since being kicked out, Aodh has avoided the City. She tends to believe ignorance is bliss at times. She instead has resigned herself more to rural places. She enjoys nature more than the city life and it's easier to keep the peace. Not to mention, she actually feels a sense of appreciation from locals when they gossip about how the town thief ends up mysteriously disappearing.
The Detective got in touch with Aodh via phone call. Aodh knows the City basically functions on nonsense (in her opinion), but when the Detective described the Outcasts to her, Aodh couldn't help herself. She is ready to show the Outcasts exactly what torture looks like.

Skills and Abilities:

(She does has large, grey feathered wings that allow her to fly. Without them, she would not be able to.)

(Aodh has gotten into many fights over the ages and has not come away dumber. She has learned how to fight when her knives are out of reach or when she loses control in the moment. She is not officially "trained" in any particular fighting style, just basically street/survival fighting.)

(All guardian angels were assigned a sword and learned to fight with it. Aodh still has her sword, which is cross shaped and about 35 inches tall. It has a blackened sheen to it with swirls carved throughout the steel. The handle is wrapped leather. She also has several smaller daggers she has collected over the years and has taught herself to use.)

(Aodh can cast a sort of illusion over herself. This illusion can hide her wings, hide wounds on her skin or create the appearance of them, or minorly change things like her hair color or eye color. She cannot change her appearance to look like some other creature or anything like that.)

(Aodh heals quickly from injuries. Because she is immortal, she eventually recovers from all wounds. However, she can be injured. Her skin is fairly tough to get through with average human weapons, while enchanted weapons do more damage. Her recovery time varies based on weapon and injury.)

Weakness:

(Enchanted chains will bind her very quickly. Regular old chains will work as well, but you would need many, and to constrain her while unconscious or work very quickly.)

(She sees these groups as weaker, and thus whoever picks on them is especially sickening.)

(She could possibly figure them out, but guardian angels are tasked with swords. She has never used these weapons before so if given one in battle or coming up against one in a fight she will be at a disadvantage.)

(Aodh heals quickly but if knocked unconscious she is just like any other being. Depending on the strength of the hit, she could be unconscious for hours.)

(Aodh isn't a full on perfectionist, but it's inbred into angels to do the right thing every time in order to please God. So she has some issues with needing approval and enjoying pleasing others. This has caused her to make mistakes in the past in order to win the approval of others.)

Aodh has her "knightly sword" that she calls her blade of justice. It is described under skills. She also carries various daggers and throwing knives. She will acquire anything else she needs at the moment or use what's around her if she gets in a situation where she needs anything else.

Aodh still speaks to a couple angels who aren't fallen. They consistently try to convince her to stop her warpath.

Aodh does know Cain fairly well. Besides the obvious history and legends about Cain, there was a time when Aodh was isolating in a cave after mistakingly murdering the wrong person after a shoddy detective job. Her sword was sitting near the cave entrance. Aodh felt a presence, like a shadow slyly try to grab her weapon. Aodh rushed the thief and they blindly fought hand to hand. Aodh twisted their arm, only to glance and see the Mark of Cain blazing on his skin. Surprised, Aodh slowly released Cain's arm. The way Aodh stepped back seemed to halt the fight, and then Aodh called his name. They began a conversation and realized the similarities they had, and came to an agreement. Aodh has contacted Cain several times over the millenia to ask if he wanted to help her on a task, if the person she is tracking or destroying has some nice things that Cain might take an interest in, or siphon some interesting memories from.

Name:Juniper Murik- Gluttony
Age: ~300 years old. Stopped aging at her first death, at 20 years old.

Race: Witch

Appearance: Juniper changes her appearance like a person changes their clothes. She wears excessive makeup, and even her friends are unsure of what her “natural” look would be. According to other normal humans, she frequently wears makeup and colored contacts. In actuality, Juniper wears some makeup, but also uses spells to create filters to change not only her appearance, but pieces of the world around her to make things a bit more pretty/aesthetically pleasing.


Personality: Juniper is immature, considering her age. She is short-sighted, and likes to indulge in whatever she thinks is going to be fun/pretty at that moment. She has very poor impulse control.
For example, when she was at an amusement park and saw a specialty mini-donut food truck, she got every flavor, topping, and dipping sauce to try. Then she made some Tik Toks and live streams of her thoughts to broadcast to her followers. She only took a bite of each of the donuts to broadcast, then threw the remainders away when she was done getting her footage.

Background: Juniper was executed for being a witch–not at the Salem witch trials, but in Great Britain. She was accused of bewitching men and causing them to be unfaithful to their wives. After her execution, Juniper found she had awoken with actual witchcraft. She learned skills of disguise from a mentor who believed she was being given a second chance to do some good in the world. But Juniper used it to extract revenge on the men who had gotten her killed.
In the process, she fell in love with herself. In her first life, she had tried to do the right thing, and it had only gotten her killed. She promised herself not to squander her second opportunity, and instead indulged in whatever suited her fancy, whether it was food, a bed warmer, or a dangerous activity. But she found she grew bored quite quickly with most hobbies and crafts, until the internet and social media became a prominent fixture. There, her overindulgence was rewarded, and people encouraged her to get more stuff, and be more over-the-top. Juniper thrived.
Currently, Juniper has a huge social media following. She has makeup tutorials, reviews of products, short videos of her doing sports and stunts, and food tastings. She has a plethora of people she considers friends, and she is known to treat her friends well.
The Detective reached out on social media, mentioning a delectable treat she had to try at some hole in the wall restaurant. They met up, and came up with an agreement that she would help with preventing others from exploiting the Innocents of the City, in exchange for exclusive access to new venue openings, menu items to try, etc.

Skills and Abilities:
Mundane-Armed: Juniper is proficient with pistols, shotguns, and a few rifles. She also keeps a taser on her, in case fans (or haters) get a bit unruly.

Mundane-Allies: Juniper has lots of social media followers and friends. She can nearly always call on someone to provide something to her, like a ride, or a cover story, on short notice.

Magic-Beautify: Juniper can make small changes to the appearance of the world around her through means of a filter. Make trash seemingly disappear, or create illusions. She usually uses this to enhance her setting when filming or streaming out on the town.

Magic-Disguise: Juniper can change her appearance beyond the abilities of what makeup can provide. She could look average, but she chooses to look exotic, attractive, and sometimes otherworldly.

Magic-Indulge: Juniper can encourage others to indulge in their ‘guilty pleasures,’ creating a temporary fixation or obsession for something mundane to the point of mild self-harm: For example, overeating or excessive running. This is less effective on beings with greater self-control.

Magic-Spells: Can use spells for minor healing, binding, and other magic effects. Weakness- doesn’t practice these much, and their effects tend to be impacted by her gluttony. For example, she once tried to use a few flowers in a healing spell, and accidentally eradicated a field of crops in the process.

Weakness:
Magic-Impulsive: When stressed, Juniper finds it difficult to curb her own indulgence, and might get derailed from something important with her own wasteful tendencies.

Mundane-Lover, not a fighter: Juniper is not great at melee combat. She is capable with basic self-defense, but doesn’t have abundant physical combat skills.

Mundane-Dyslexic: Though never formally diagnosed, Juniper has dyslexia and isn’t a great reader. This usually manifests by her getting ‘bored’ quickly when told to read and research, and is one of the primary reasons she initially struggled with spell-casting.

Mundane-Mortal: Juniper isn’t immortal (to her knowledge) and can get sick, injured, etc. She has the senses and physical abilities of an average human. It also seems she hasn’t matured since her initial death.

Equipment: Her cell phone is her primary tool, since she uses it to stream nearly constantly. She also has a makeup kit, a taser, and a small pistol in her bag.

Name: Argenti, the Lesser Lust

Age: Two Thousand Three Hundred and Fifty Eight Years (2358) give or take a decade

Race: Succubus, from the Latin “to lie under.” As such Argenti prefers to identify as a succubus rather than an incubus. Many have called him an incubus, and he doesn’t mind that, but he is, what do the kids nowadays say, a bottom, so that makes Argenti a succubus.

Appearance: Argenti is just shy of 6 feet at 5 feet 11 inches. He’s fit but not muscular. It’s clear he enjoys things like ice cream and carbs, but it also clear that he works out just enough to burn those calories off. Argenti is on the pretty side of average and seems very androgynous. He’s not turning heads, but he’s not bad to look at either. No one would wake up and regret waking up next to him. Age wise he appears anywhere from 16 to 21. It’s not magic or anything, he just has one of those faces. His dark hair is somewhere between wavy and straight and falls to his shoulders. He usually wears it in a ponytail. Argenti is a jeans and t-shirt type fellow unless he’s crossdressing. When he does cross-dress it’s either just enough to make people wonder if he is a girl or a boy, or he goes full on drag queen and looks amazing doing it. The most shocking thing about him that people cannot seem to forget is his stunning silver eyes.

Personality: Argenti is crazy! There is no other way to say it. He is fanatical about consent and if he finds out someone is ignoring another’s consent, he will start planning violence, the extent of which depends on what type of consent is being ignored. Taking someone’s things without permission usually gets broken bones. Touching without permission means you lose fingers. Sexual activities lead to physical injuries up to and including death. Rapists get killed. Child rapists get tortured and broken and then they get killed. Argenti enjoys these acts of violence and does them all with a dark smile on his face. Bloodlust is probably the appropriate word. On the flip side if you don’t ignore consent, he is perfect friendly to you in a way that is almost but not quite annoying. Argenti is bubbly and cheerful so much it seems almost fake. Then you see him react to consent being ignored and you realize you prefer the bright mask that hides the dark smile. On another note Argenti is asexual homoromantic. He is willing to have sex with his partner if both of them are completely sober, his partner has brought him a significant bribe like expensive chocolate or a new knife set, and it’s an important occasion. He will not top and will only bottom and to Argenti it’s more about indulging his partner than anything he gets out of it.

Background: Given the fact that Argenti is a low level sex demon he was summoned by various mundane magical users to fulfill their sexual fantasies. What he wanted was not considered at all. He did not enjoy having his say ignored at all. Then one day his summoner left a flaw in the containment circle that meant once Argenti had been penetrated Argenti was free to kill him. So, he did. And boy did that open this succubus’s eyes. He was always supposed to be a demon of lust but always hated it. Now he knew the meaning of bloodlust and he liked it. Argenti wanted more.

For a while Argenti just killed anyone he could. He perfected the quick kill and the slow death. In his mind’s eyes humans were all despicable people and all deserved to die. The rush that Argenti got from watching a human breath their last breath was exquisite. Then he was captured by an angel named John. Argenti thought that was the end and fought. But instead of killing him or even torturing him John taught him and showed him the good in people, a boy sharing his last apple with another child, a man defending a woman’s honor, warriors dying to keep people safe. John couldn’t get Argenti to give up the bloodlust, and honestly didn’t want to, he just wanted to aim Argenti in the right direction. The angel asked the demon if he was really mad at humans, or just mad at the ones ignoring his choice.

Once Argenti answered that honestly John showed him the evils of humankind. There were people who thought power and force and money meant they could ignore other people’s will. Argenti thought and his bloodlust went from being all consuming to a sharp blade aimed at people who ignored the choices of others, who ignored consent. John left, his mission complete, and now Argenti travels the world defending those that do their best to give against those who simply take. It’s not as easy as just killing, but knowing the person is heading straight to hell makes it all the sweeter.

Argenti was in the middle of hunting down a child trafficking ring somewhere in Asia when he felt the pull of the summons. He was forced to follow the pull and was about to do his level best to kill person who for some stupid reason didn’t summon him with a containment circle when the person introduced themselves as The Detective. This cause Argenti to pause as they quickly explained the Outcasts. Well, then. Argenti supposed that he could help out, but after words The Detective was helping him find all of the ways to summon him and destroy them.

Skills and Abilities: Argenti is a skilled crossdresser and a fashionable dresser. He is also skilled in free running and parkour. His knife skills are impeccable. On the magical side Argenti can travel to and from the demonic realm and the mundane realm as easy as stepping from one to the next. He uses this to travel across the realms in a blink of an eye. He also has a mild hypnosis ability that he can use to encourage people to follow him. He can’t make them follow him, but he can make it seem like a really good idea. Argenti uses this ability to lure is victims away to somewhere private. He can also judge levels of attraction on physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels. He uses this to determine how well consent is being respected. He also possesses what he calls the Gift as John was the one to give him this ability: Argenti can identify rapists on sight. He does not need sleep.

Weakness: Since Argenti likes to be up close and personal with his kills he is a very lousy shot. His hypnosis ability is low and easily broken. Argenti ability to judge attraction levels does not tell him for sure if consent is being followed so he has to use his best guess and he does not always get it right. If he spots a rapist killing them becomes paramount to the point of distraction from the original goal. This is not a side effect of the Gift, it’s psychological. Holy water burns and churches, of any dominations are almost a strict no go. He can and will go into a church to pursue someone he spotted with the Gift, but it’s no fun. Though he is a magical creature he cannot actually use much magic. Argenti also has no demonic form. He always looks human. He does need food. Financially Argenti is almost always broke. Hunting child traffickers take money!

Equipment: A smart phone. An id that says he legal to get into bars and clubs. An id that says he’s underage to trap the worst possible kind of monsters. A flask filled with whiskey that he doesn’t actually drink. A thing of cigarettes he doesn’t actually smoke. A joint he does smoke even though it does nothing for him. An amulet that came from John that has no magical properties whatsoever that is the exact same shade as his eyes that is the reason why John say he picked it up. A sleeve of cookies. A key to who knows what. A pair of cheap shades. Like five bucks in emergency cash. An impressive set of knives kept wicked sharp and in easy reach.

Quips:
• Argenti is ridiculously fond of chocolate
• Argenti is addicted to caffeine but is not a coffee snob. He is one of those people that goes in the coffee shop and orders like 20 shots of espresso and then drinks it all in one long gulp only to be back in two hours with the exact same order. He will tip well so there is that.
• Argenti likes the colors of the dawning. John always said that was his favorite time of day.

Name: Albert Sin of Sloth

Age: Older than most

Race: Fallen Angle

Appearance: Albert is a plump older gentleman. He has gray hair, wrinkled skin, and a warm smile. He can look absented mind at times but do know he is always listening. Being as ancient as him, habits are hard to break. He always has the subtle scent of a fresh cigar to him and he is never seen without one on his person. He is also forever stuck in the late 1800s and early 1900s as his fashion sense is strictly a bowler hat and a suit, plus a tie or bow tie because bow ties are cool.


Personality: Albert is a kind gentleman and treats everyone as if they were his grandchild. He always has a story to share as he loves to tell tales of everything he has seen and share all the wisdom he has acquired. He speaks very slowly and deliberately, often taking pauses to think about his next word. He also prefers to wait for people to speak first rather than starting a conversation because people who speak first always need something, and he doesn't need anything from anyone.

Background: Albert was once an angel of justice, punishing all that have committed a crime severe enough to inherit his attention. Though after doing this for a millennium, he has grown tired of the repetition of his job and decided to quit. He hated the amount of work he needed to do to track down his target, determine what kind of punishment they need, and guide their soul to the right level of hell. It was all tedious, and he cared little for it anymore. After being cast from the celestial realm, Albert traveled the world and saw everything it had to offer before moving on to other dimensions and the worlds. He eventually settled in a small village and opened a bed and breakfast. He wanted to hear the stories of others but was growing too lazy to actually travel and find those stories. So what is a man to do and open a Bed and Breakfast?

His bed and breakfast is a special place that exists inside of its own pocket dimension. One cannot find it on Google Maps or make a reservation over the phone. Only people who are lost and are needing a place to stay will find a bed and breakfast. It is free to all who enter, and they are welcome to stay for as long as they want. One day, he heard stories from his guest about a city and its outcast. Having the urge to travel again, he manifested his bed and breakfast somewhere in the city and decided to see what all the fuss was about. This is when he was greeted by the Detective.

Skills and Abilities:
Albert can cook since he owns a bed and breakfast.

Albert only has one magical ability, the power to make a contract capable of bending the laws of nature. Contract written in his blood can have an effect ranging from immorality to bringing back the dead. Though this is not an all-potent ability as a sufficient sacrifice is needed for the contract to take effect. This sacrifice scale depends on what the intended effect should be. He also has a bit of power over the effect of the contract and can temporarily change the terms or outright cancel its effect.

Known contracts:


Weakness: Writing a contract requires a lot of time to tinker with the words. It is like a puzzle to piece together for a contract to work the way it is intended. Some contracts even require many sub-contracts to supplement the main effect. Albert is lazy and does not have the patience to do this. The last contract he made was over 1000 years ago.

He cannot harm another living thing.

Quips: Forever stuck in the past meaning he does not know how to operate most modern inventions like phones and computers. He is an old man, don't judge him.

Name: Setepenre “Penny”

Sin: Pride

Age: Essentially un-aging. Chronologically about 4000 years old, though most of that was spent in a dormant state. Appearance-wise, she looks to be about 40 years old.

Race: A being imbued with divine power, somewhere a little toward the demon side on the angel-demon spectrum

Appearance: In her base form, Setepenre appears as a tall, strong woman with the head of a lioness. She can change her form at will to range anywhere on the spectrum of pure lion to pure human, though maintaining these changes over a prolonged time will cost energy. As a human, “Penny” has dark skin, wild black hair with golden streaks, and golden eyes. She has a scar on her abdomen to mark where a mortal wound once was.

Personality: First and foremost, Setepenre is proud of and loyal to her family line to a fault. Everyone must know how amazing her children, grandchildren, etc. are – from the acclaimed PhD to the safari’s largest lion to the four-year-old who made a fridge-worthy doodle. She has a tendency to be a helicopter parent, making a big deal out of anyone or anything that has a chance to harm her children even slightly, and acts like the world should bow down and serve her beloved children’s every desire. Her main goal is to build a better life for her family line. Sometimes this results in Karen-like behavior, sometimes vicious violence, and sometimes genuine good/heroic acts to preserve the world her descendants live in. (Yes, Setepenre will recycle the soda can she’s drinking from while she blackmails the school principal.)

Other than that, Setepenre is an outgoing, driven, intense person. Her emotions tend to range on a scale of warm to fiery. If you get on her bad side, you are in for a world of pain. If you get on her good side, she will provide all the warm blankets and fresh cookies and tender motherly feelings you could ever need. As long as you give her some time in the conversation to obsess about her descendants, of course.

Background: Setepenre was born in Egypt around 2000 B.C. She married the pharaoh and quickly rose to prominence as one of his most important wives. The pharaoh was content to keep only a small army for defense and focus on internal improvements. But Setepenre thought of the more glorious Egyptian empire of the past, how disappointed her beloved goddess Sekhmet must be at its decline, and how weak and vulnerable the kingdom would be when her children inherited it. Over time, Setepenre convinced her husband to begin conquering nearby lands. Setepenre’s sons and even the queen herself fought in battle, bolstering the army’s resolve as the empire steadily grew.

Then one battle, Setepenre’s oldest son was killed, and herself gravely wounded. The queen chose to be sealed alive in the tomb meant for her husband along with her dead son, in order to continue providing for her son into the afterlife. But rather than die, Setepenre was blessed (cursed?) by the goddess Sekhmet for her ferocious loyalty to family and empire. She became an ageless being, halfway between mortal and immortal, angel and demon. Setepenre remained divinely tethered to her tomb to guard over her family’s legacy and greet each of her loved ones on the road between life and death. After a few timeless decades, the doors stopped opening, new bodies stopped being added. After the last of her royal bloodline arrived, Setepenre raged and wailed until she cried herself to sleep. It was a deep, deep slumber…

In the year 1870 A.D., Setepenre was suddenly awakened to the noises of a group of tomb raiders. Setepenre defended her family’s treasure, and that was the last thing any of those thieves ever saw. In the chaos, much of the tomb and its contents collapsed into dust. That’s when Setepenre realized… something had changed. The tether was gone. She could go anywhere. She loved her old empire and family with all her heart, but… she owed it to them to start anew.

Over the past 150 years, and with plenty of awkward mishaps, Setepenre has learned to survive and thrive in the modern world. Her first priority was to start a new family, and she has many descendants of either fully-human or fully-lion species, seemingly at random. She spends whatever time she can in fully-human-looking form and has learned to utilize concepts like “mortgage” and “a job,” especially when such things benefit her human children.

About 10 years ago, Setepenre was thrilled to hear her grandson got into a prestigious college abroad near The City and many of the family moved with him to The City. They like their new home, though the culture shock led to some overreactions on Setepenre’s part. It seems one of those, uh, angry lion Karen moments caught some attention, as the Detective contacted Setepenre about using her abilities to defend The City from vague evildoers should the need arise. Setepenre wholeheartedly agreed to protect her descendants… and also, y’know, other citizens of The City who happened to be nearby. Besides, she could feel bits of her power start to wane, and she sensed she would need to find some glory in battle soon if she wanted to keep her blessing from Sekhmet…

Skills and Abilities: Setepenre is ageless and immune to sources of harm that would increase over time such as starvation, disease, and poison. She can change her form to lion, human, or any combination of the two. She can communicate with and command lions. She is a resilient fighting machine with subtle amounts of super-strength, super-speed, super-toughness… though not as much as a person with more concentration in one of those traits. Her roar can cause terror or inspire bravery - but only one at a time, so she’d better pick whichever applies best to each battle. Setepenre is next to useless with firearms but great with swords and knives. She seeks the healing abilities associated with Sekhmet but thus far those prayers have not been answered.

Setepenre is also proficient in mundane motherhood skills such as cooking, putting a child's clothes back on, and ignoring a tantrum all at the same time. She has many descendants in various fields, so if there's a random task that needs done or expert knowledge to gain, there's a good 10% chance one of her kin can do it.

Weaknesses: Setepenre’s primary weakness is the depth of her devotion to her children, and she might be swayed to give into someone’s demands and/or thrown into a blind rage if her descendants are threatened. She could also be easy prey to manipulation by one of her descendants. While Setepenre has a superhuman amount of energy, it does take effort to use her powers, and she could grow exhausted over a long battle. Setepenre is much more resilient than a normal human but could still be killed by large amounts of most types of damage that could kill a human. A more hidden weakness is catnip. Setepenre absolutely cannot resist catnip, and exposure to it will get her stuck in fully-lion form for a couple hours.

Equipment: Setepenre carries an impressive mom-purse with all the snacks, band-aids, etc. a mom could ever need. She also tends to carry a knife, just in case. She always has an idol of Sekhmet on her. She owns a couple swords but keeps them on display at home whenever she's trying to 'act natural.'

Miscellaneous:
- Setepenre is bisexual and demi-romantic. (I couldn’t make a Pride character during Pride month and NOT make her something in the rainbow, could I?)
- She currently has three children living with her: a 17 year old human daughter, a 7 year old three-legged lion son (the AUDACITY to require a PERMIT to care for my disabled son), and a 2 year old human daughter.
