The Ducks & The Goofs

Max awoke to the smell of a bountiful morning feast. His mouth was starting to water. He wiped his mouth with his sleeve and stood up. He stretched a bit to ease the pain in his back from sleeping against Morgan's door all night. He wondered if she was awake already. If she was she hadn't left the room. He would've known if she did. He turned to face the door and knocked. "Rise and shine, Lady Morgan! It's departure day and there's some delicious food waiting for us!"

Goofy approached the cafeteria while the others were discussing Alias and Olympus. "None of ya should go alone. If your friend's going to Olympus it's probably for the tournament."

Daisy turned her head. "Good morning, Goofy. What tournament?"

"A tournament for heroes! I've competed in it a few times myself. I'm a natural."

"But you can't just go straight there." Donald added in his nasally voice. "The gods of Olympus watch your journeys to see if you're worthy before allowing access. So you don't have to worry about missing Alias. He's not there yet. So turn those frowns upside down. Our Gummi Ships run on happy faces."

"Yeah, ya gotta look funny, like us!" Goofy exclaimed with a goofy grin.

"So let's see those faces!" Daisy added hoping that this would start cheering up the kids, even if it may start off fake.

Lucian blinked at what he just heard. “A tournament?” he echoed softly. Heroes. Olympus. It sounded… kind of amazing, actually. And if Alias was heading there… That meant they still had time. He breathed a sigh of relief. “Oh, So… we won’t miss him. This is great!”

Then everyone’s words hit him all at once. Lucian hesitated. He tried. Very hard. It started as a small, awkward smile, then he attempted to “look funny,” which resulted in something halfway between a confused pout and a scrunched-up nose. He held it for about two seconds before it broke completely, dissolving into a soft, slightly embarrassed laugh. “…I don’t think I’m very good at that,” he admitted, rubbing the back of his neck. “But… thank you. Really.” He said, smiling for real this time. “I suppose we’ll get there. One world at a time.”

Zen-Aku drew the Elephant Flail and slowly began spinning it in his hand, before jamming on the throttle, the bike beneath him roaring into life as he charged straight towards the Dragon. Meanwhile, Taivas mushed the Chocobo, it letting out a loud "KWEH!!!" Before launching into the air. Yuna went left, pulling a pair of pistols and laying down covering fire. Rikku leapt onto the back of the Chocobo, while Paine jumped onto the motorbike. Philip jumped in front as the jet of green flames lashed at them, the Shield of Hope knocking the torrent out of the way as his steed strode towards Maleficent. As Zen-Aku hit a ramp in the road the bike soared into the air, Paine jumped off the back and slashing for the neck, her sword dragging along the titanium-tough scales, sparks flying off as Maleficent let out a hearty laugh at this puny assault, but was caught a little offguard as the Elephant Flail lashed for her stomach, a quick flick of the tail sent it flying backwards towards Yuna. Jumping over it, she sent a volley of bullets from her pistols at the dragon, pinging harmlessly off of the black scales.

Maleficent reared her head back for another jet of flame, only to be struck in the mouth by a Blizzard spell from Taivas, Rikku jumping off the back of the Chocobo, landing on the back of Maleficents head and sliding down the back with her daggers keeping her descendt at a managable speed, but still being unable to penetrate the scales. Pulling her daggers away, she managed to balance to her feet as the tail came into view, she slid off the end, flying through the air, 3 somersaults, just as Zen-Aku landed behind her on the motorbike, the bike sliding in the dirt sideways as he put his foot down to bring it to a halt, Payne landed next to him, with Rikku landing on the back of the bike and Taivas astride the Chocobo landing next to them. Maleficent quickly whipped her head around looking for Philip, only to catch sight as the prince made his way towards the castle.

"Very clever!" She laughed in her booming, serpentine voice, before her green eyes turned pitch black and the wind picked up. The sky above them started to darken, behind them, a swarm of heartless began crawling out of every shadow, only being picked up by the wind.

"SHE'S SUMMONING A DEMON TOWER!!!" Rikku screamed over the din of the winds.

"Then we stop her, keep her attention here!" Taivas growled. Paine looked around for a second.

"Wait... Where's Yuna?" She asked, just as she saw Yuna glowing a bright light, before exploding out of it in her Berzerker outfit, running up the back of the dragon, with her claws, she launched herself upwards. Zen-Aku quickly stuck out his hand and a bolt of lightning blasted into Maleficents chest to keep her attention on him. As Maleficent looked down and opened her mouth, Yuna once again disappeared into her Dressphere, before appearing in her Alchemist outfit, a large gun in her hand. Maleficent's throat glowed with that eerie green flame as it came bubbling up, but then spotted Yuna falling in front of her. The fairy winked to the dragon before blasting a grenade down her throat. As the dull boom rang out from the surprised dragon, the winds died and the Demon Tower she was attempting to form simply scattered the heartless to the winds. Yuna landed gracefully as the Dragon stumbled back a bit, Rikku and Paine rushing to her.

"Great going, Yunnie." Rikku high-fived her as they met up. But the dragon was already back up and snarling at them.

"You know, if i didn't know the satisfaction i would get from destroying you all and watching Philip suffer again, i might be almost annoyed by that. Now, allow me a witty retort." She sighed, before another torrent of green fire started blasting at the party. The party scattered like bugs, the roar of engines and the Kweh! of the Chocobo as they all darted away. Unfortunately, as Zen-Aku was so focussed on dodging the fire that the tail whipping around caught him and sent him flying from the bike. The bike roared as it spun off into a ditch and Zen tumbled, landing on his feet, he summoned his Cresent Moon Blade, before spinning and sending 3 energy shockwaves from his sword at the dragon, but it bounced harmlessly off the impenetrable scales.

"Your cresent moon blade is forged from darkness, only a weapon of light can pierce her hide."

"And you couldn't have told me that BEFORE i handed that to Philip?" He grunted, before getting the knife out and putting the Elephant sphere in it, the Flail forming again. It was the only weapon he had that came close to a weapon of light. He could at least keep her attention on him. "Taivas, you'll have to use your Keyblade!" He yelled, running towards Maleficent. Taivas grunted, he wasn't quite sure how to handle this. He had been trying to harness the powers of darkness because of how strong they made him... And now he was being forced into using something else. Looking down at his Keyblade, he gripped the Keyblade hard, before lashing the reins of the Chocobo and it set off at a charge towards Maleficent. She chuckled as she looked at his stern face.

"Oh look," She giggled. "He thinks he has broken free from me completely." She let out a laugh as the Chocobo leapt into the air. Taivas jumped off the back to the Chocobo and leapt to drive the Keyblade directly into her heart. Maleficents eyes glowed a purple energy as a black aura surrounded Taivas as he was suddenly held in mid-air "He has no strings to hold him down, to make him fret, to make him frown." She sang, before throwing him into the path of another grenade coming from Yuna. The explosion tore Taivas' cloak and he let a scream of pain loose from his lips "He one had strings, but thinks he's free. The strings are still held by me..." She hissed, levatating him towards her jaws, which opened up to reveal a green light ready to barbeque him. But suddenly, the mouth clamped shut as a chain from the Elephant Flail wrapped around it as Zen-Aku landed on her head and pulled it taught. sliding around her neck to get even more leverage, he planted his boots firmly between the spines running down her back and pulled.

"STRIKE HER NOW!!!" Zen-Aku ordered. With a roar, Taivas wrenched himself free from the black aura that surrounded him and launched himself straight towards her heart. Jamming the Keyblade straight into the scales, Maleficent let out a muffled scream of pain, before grabbing Zen-Aku with her tail and swinging him back around her neck to unwrap him, before batting him down towards Taivas. Taivas was able to get one more good stab in before the Duke Org collided with his alley and they both tumbled to the ground. Zen-Aku got the pair of them up and they stared down the dragon. Maleficent looked around, not seeing YRP, before chuckling.

"Oh look, your fairies have abandoned you." She giggled. "They have the sense to flee before they are destroyed. Go, Taivas. Run away. Run back to your little island and rot away in safety from me." She laughed long and loud. Zen-Aku looked at Taivas, who looked back at his friend. They may not have grown up together, like his friends from the island, but after all this time, after these battles, he felt he knew this wolf demon as well as any of the others.

"Zen-Aku... If you want to go to protect Dotty, i don't blame you... Let me take her." He said.

"Not on your nelly, Han!" Dotty's spectral form yelled at him. "We're a team. Poodlewolf, Han the Handsome and Dotty the Great Bardess!!!" She yelled. "NOW GET OUT THERE AND KNOCK HER BLINKIN' BLOCK INTO NEXT WEEK!!!" In a flash, the Songstress costume on her seemed to transform to become more glam. Her hair gaining pink, blond and green streaks.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!" She let out a scream of defiance as Taivas and Zen both felt themselves suddenly feeling the fatigue lifting from them a little. Maleficent rolled her eyes.

"When you need a hero to protect the place you live.
Fighting monsters all around, trying to get within.
Awesome powers, no surrender,
Heroes never fall.
Look to the skies as they arrive when you hear this calllllllll!!"

As The pair charged again, Zen swung the flail around as Taivas jumped, landing on the ball as Zen sent it flying towards her.

"GO, KEYBARERS!
FLY, KEYBARERS!
WIN, KEYBARERS! HERE WE GO!
GO, KEYBARERS!
FLY, KEYBARERS!
WIN, KEYBARERS!
GO, FLY, WIN, FLY, GO!"

Maleficent let out a loud roar that sent all of them tumbling back and interrupting the song. "ENOUGH OF YOUR INCIPD SONGS!!!" She roared, before letting out a belch of fire at Dotty's spectral form. Both Zen and Taivas immediately jumping back in the way, swinging both flail and blade around to deflect the plume of fire. "YOU CAN'T JUST SING A SONG AND RALLY A COMEBACK! I AM THE ULTIMATE POWER IN THIS UNIVERSE AND YOU HAVE MADE THE MISTAKE OF MAKING YOURSELF NO LONGER ENTERTAINING!!! NOW PERISH!!!" She screamed as the flames intensified. A second later, a loud explosion rang out, Maleficent turned her head around to see the top tower of Stefan's castle exploding in a radiant bright light. "NO THE CURSE!!! THAT CUR BROKE IT!!!" She roared. As the light lanced into the sky, suddenly, a large, bright white rose appeared in the light, flying towards the Dragon, as the rose petals peeled back, it revealed Aurora in a Brilliant white dress, with Philip on her arm, the 3 fairies surrounded Aurora. Maleficent giggled, then laughed, then reared up and let out a long, deep, hearty laugh.

"The prince and his magic sword... Is nothing... Your pathetic Dressphere... Equally nothing... Your Duke Org and his pitiful pup... Cannot even hurt me... Your "Champion of Darkness" Is more laughable than anything... Those 3 fairies... Nothing... But all of you together... Might make me break a sweat if i cared to show you my true power... But i have better things to do... Yes, it's about time that i made tracks to deal with that." She pointed at Aurora. "Know this, princess. You have won this round, but once my plan is complete, you will be nothing more than a plaything for me to destroy and rebuild at my leisure. Enjoy your time with your prince, what little you have." And in a puff of smoke, she disappeared.

Dotty poked her head back up. "D... Did we win?" She asked, before Zen took the mask off and Dotty collapsed in a heap on the ground, absolutely exhausted.

After Maleficent fled, moving on to what she claimed to be a more time sensitive matter, Dotty had practically collapsed of exhaustion. There was only so much that the magic could do. Zen-Aku's spirit and Taivas sat on a balcony watching the grand ball that had been planned going on bellow. Philip and Briar (Or Aurora as it turned out her name really was) dancing merrily as their parents happily watched. Taivas looked at the monstrous spirit next to him. "I... I have to leave..." He said. Zen-Aku looked back at him.

"Can't say i blame you. But Dotty is in no shape to-" But Taivas put his hand up.

"No, I, singular, need to leave..." Zen-Aku turned to him, about to raise an objection. "It's not you, or Dotty. It's..." He growled under his breath in frustration.

"... Your friends you mentioned." Zen-Aku responded. "I can't say i blame you. Dotty only came with me because she has a need for adventure and no idea what that means. But i need to learn about my past as well. I need to know who that man you saw when i sang was. So, if you need to go, then do so. But at least give us a ride back to Traverse Town so we can get our own ship. The ship is yours, you paid for it, but i'd appreciate us not being stranded." He replied.

"I just talked to Yuna. She says that she and the others can send you back to Traverse Town with their magics. But they also have something for Dotty when she wakes up... I'm no good at goodbyes, so i'm going to head off before she wakes up. Tell her that Han The Handsome has adventures away from Poodlewolf." He said, before turning around. He looked back at the dancing lovers. "They make a good couple... When i saw Yuna, i also saw Philip, he gave me this back. You should have it." He pulled the Shield of Hope from his back and handed it to Zen-Aku. The Duke Org looked down at the shield, before holding up his hands to indicate he should stop.

"If there's one of us who needs Hope right now, it's you." He said. Taivas looked down at it, before reholstering it on his back.

"If you ever need it. Let me know." He said, before waving him a goodbye and walking out. Zen-Aku sat continued to stand, watching the pair dancing... But in his head, he wasn't seeing Aurora and Philip, he was watching that mysterious man and the woman that he may have loved or may have killed... Or even both. He didn't know which eventuality scared him the most.

Each day when the sun rises, I hurry from my sleep... He mumbled in rhythm. "I can't wait to greet you with my song..." He sighed.

"The song of Animaria." Yuna sighed. Zen-Aku's eyes bolted wide open as he looked at the little fairy next to him.

"You know that song? YOU KNOW IT?"

"You are every kind of flower, every animal I meet,
You are nature full of grace and majesty."
She continued.

"You MUST tell me what you know of that song..." He quickly remembered what Master Phant had told him. "Please..." Yuna smiled at him.

"I know very little, i'm afraid. I used to be a Summoner back where i come from. I summoned the Aeons from the spirit realm." She replied.

"What's an Aeon?" Zen-Aku asked.

"They go by many names across the cosmos. Aeon, Esper, Spirits, Eidolons, but they all have one thing in common, they come from the Spirit Realm. She replied.

"And that song? Where do you know that song from?" He asked, sounding increasingly desperate, as if she was teasing him with an answer just out of reach.

"One of my friends, an Aeon by Valefore, he taught me the song. He said he learned it from another, by the name of- Animus" The pair said at the same time.

"Did you ever meet this Animus? Do you know where to find him, how to summon him?" He asked.

"I'm sorry, i never met him or formed a Summoners Pact with him, i'm afraid." She sighed. Zen-Aku crossed his arms and continued to watch the happy couple dance as Rikku and Payne began dancing around them, zapping Aurora's dress with their magics, turning it back and forth from Silver and Gold. In a flash, Yuna transformed back into her human form. "May i have this dance, Duke?" She asked. He grunted, before reluctantly taking her hand and beginning to dance on the balcony with her to the music.

As next morning rolled around, Dotty awoke and her youth practically restored her overnight. After a quick breakfast and a long, loud crying fit over learning that Taivas had his own way to go, she made her way to the Throne Room where Zen-Aku had told her to go. Aurora and Philip were there awaiting the girl and her spirit guardian, alongside of them was Yuna, Rikku and Paine. The pair walked up to meet the couple. Aurora smiled at Dotty. "Thank you, my friends. With your valiant effort, you held off Maleficent enough for me to finally..." He smiled at Aurora. "In any case, i believe a reward is in order. I have talked with the others and-" Dotty walked towards Philip, waving her arms.

"Wowowowow..." She sighed. "My poor, sweet, sweet Philip. I know what the reward is, and i'm afraid i'll have to turn it down." She looked up at him with loving eyes. "But our friend, Han The Handsome has left us to forge his own path and to save more worlds. I'm afraid that i need to go as well. I can't afford to marry you and be tied down here as your queen." She choked back a tear. "Hussy, you'll have to be his consolation prize. I'm just afraid I have a whole universe to save." She then grabbed Philip by the front of his collar and pulled him down to bend him over as she gave him a kiss on the cheek, before lightly petting it. "You'll get over me, don't worry." As he opened his mouth to say something, she put a finger over it. "Shshshshsh... Don't say a word. I have to go... Before you beg me to stay." As she turned away from him as a big, fat tear rolled down her cheek. Philip leant back up and looked at Aurora, mildly amused, mildly bemused. Aurora had both hands across her mouth, desperately trying to stiffle her laugh. In the meantime, Yuna, Rikku and Paine approached Dotty.

"Before you go, we have something for you." Rikku giggled. At that point, Yuna pulled a glowing sphere from her back and handed it to Dotty.

"We liked the way you sang with the band, kid." Paine smiled. "So, here's something to stay with us." As Dotty reached out for it, she exploded in a bright flash of light, the Mask of Zen-Aku disappearing into it, as suddenly, she reappeared in a Red, musketeer looking outfit with a Rapier on her hip and a fancy red hat. She looked herself up and down.

?"OMIGODOMIGODOMIGODIMAREALADVENTURERJUSTLIKEPOODLEWOLFANDHANJUSTLIKEEPISODE91WHERETHEYGOTOTHEKINGDOMOFBONEOVIAANDHAVETOCLASSCHANGEANDHANGOESFROMTHIEFTOMUSKETEER!" She screamed out all in one singular breath.

"Slow down, there, girl. We have a few Dresses already loaded into there, but we felt that giving you firearms would PROBABLY be a mistake. But we're hoping that Mage classes might be what you need to focus you." Paine continued. Dotty quickly changed from the Red Mage to a Black Mage, then a White Mage then, finally, into a Songstress, looking much like Paine's had done. "We also modified it to store your mask. Just think of the mask and it'll appear." She said. She then looked at Zen-Aku. "We're not doubting your ability to look after you, but i think she needs to learn to defend herself without you, too."

"No, i'm very greatful. Last world, she got hurt because she couldn't get to my mask, this will make me feel safer. Taivas said you could get us back to Traverse?" He asked.

"Oh yeah, one quick spell and-" Rikku rolled up her sleeves, but was cut off by Yuna, who shook her head.

"I managed to get in contact with my friend, Valefore last night and he managed to give me this." She waved her hand and a firy red crystal with a falcon in the center appeared in his hand. He slotted it into his Flute Knige and in a flash, it turned into a Red bow with a Falcon motif. "Fire it into the air and say the name, Wild Force Rider and the rider will arrive. The Rider will get you anywhere you need to go." She smiled. Zen-Aku got down on his knee's.

"I thank you for trusting me with this great power." He replied. "I owe you my life twice over now." He growled in servitude.

"Alright, let's go then!" Dotty yelled. Zen Aku drew back the bow's string and an arrow appeared by magic.

"WILD FORCE RIDER!" The Arrow fired into the air and in a flash of crackling red lightning, a large, red motorcycle appeared. Dotty's eyes lit up as if the bike were a large lolipop in the window of a candy store. Immediately straddling it, she looked at Zen-Aku, who pushed her to the back of the bike and mounted the bike properly. "We will see you soon, my friends, hopefully. As the bike took off, it burst through the doors of the castle, into the courtyard, as the wings on the front of the bike unfolded to reveal an eagle's head. It let out a screech, before flapping its wings and the bike took into the sky, disappearing through a portal, back into The Space Between.

Traverse Town

Her goodbyes had been spoken, expressed as “see you later,” with a glint of optimism that everyone’s respective journeys would see them through safely until they could reconvene. But some might hear the slightest wavering in Hoshi’s certainty as she bid her fellow Islanders farewell, the smallest hint of less-than-charactaristic… fear. She would walk from the hotel kitchen masking the quivering of her legs behind the length of the black coat. She’d take away one last glance back as everyone would make their exits, and found herself to where she knew she was expected.

To no surprise of hers, Leon and Launchpad were already waiting for her to join them; they had both been absent from breakfast; she hoped it was to make sure their ship was in working order. “Hey,” she said, approaching both in their typical forms. “Yeah. I had heard you’d be helping us. I guess I’m with you…” She trailed off, noticing Leon’s strange shudder. It was the most expressive he’d been since Hoshi had met him, and seemed to be contrary to his normally stoic demeanor. “Is… is he gonna be OK? She asked, pointing a finger to be clear who she was talking about. "Maybe… errr… let him walk on his own? I don’t think he cares much for being carried around like that.”

She paused, and regained herself. “Anyways… I dunno… I guess we could go straight to that Olympus place the others were talking about. Alias, my other friend, the one who didn’t make it here… they said he’s gonna be there. And apparently there’s some kind of tournament going on too. It’d be a good way for me to get used to my new weapon, right?”

Levi found himself walking towards the entrance of the first district, going over the equipment he bought one last time. Things that were supposed to help him make a difference out there. But with each step, he found himself doubting more and more. He just got his keyblade the other day, how was he supposed to help anyone? Even with all this equipment, all these assurances others had given, why did he even begin to believe they had a ghost of a chance out there? He walked out onto the landing pads outside the entrance of the first district, and then it hit him. He didn’t have a ship, and didn’t know how to fly one either.

He looked at the various ships that were still here, pausing slightly as he realized his problem, and couldn’t help but to laugh. It started as just laughing at himself, but slowly became hysterical as thought after thought and issue after issue crashed down on him. Could he even help anyone? He couldn’t even save his own world, what chance did he have of saving others? He couldn’t protect everyone, HE failed tremendously! His world, his family, all gone, lost to the darkness. And he couldn’t do anything to protect them.

Why did he think anywhere else would be any different?

Why did he ever dream that some fancy key meant he was capable of saving anyone?

That blonde guy from earlier walked up behind Levi, placing his hand on his hips as he looked over at the young man. “You, uh… you alright?” He asked, which shocked Levi a bit. He’d thought he was alone on the pad, so being caught as he was hadn’t been something he expected. In fact, he was rather embarrassed that anyone had seen him fall apart, even if just for a second. He pulled himself together after a moment, before shaking his head. “You want to talk about it?” The blonde guy asked, as Levi took a deep breath, and recentered himself. “Nah. You’ve got your own problems. You don’t need to hear mine.” He said, as he looked back up at the ships.

“... I have no idea how to fly one of these things.” He said, trying not to laugh again at how foolish he’d just been. After all, what really was his plan? To get away from another difficult long goodbye by leaving early. And accomplish nothing in the process. Sure, he lucked out and made that deal with Mr. McDuck, that was a good thing. But what might the others think, knowing he just… left? How would it affect them?

“Well, they ain’t hard to learn on, and space ‘round Traverse Town ain’t too rough.” The blonde guy said, as he turned towards the ships that sat docked (if that was even the right term for a starship) along the exterior gate of the first district. “Any of these yours?” He asked, to which Levi turned to look at the man and shrugged. “Can’t say they are.” He responded plainly. The blonde guy just nodded, briefly scratching his slight chin-beard as he looked over back towards his shop.

“Well, if you wait, I’m sure you can hitch a ride with those guys the king sent over. Or, I can sell you a pretty basic ship for cheap, hand you a first-time-flier’s guide and let you sort it yourself.” He offered to Levi, at which Levi gave a slow nod. That’s right, he wasn’t supposed to be alone. And even if he didn’t fully trust them, despite their plentiful kindness thus far, he’d said it himself; leaving alone is suicide. “I think I’ll wait for a bit. I was supposed to head out with those two anyways, I’m just early.” He said, a neutral expression crossing the young man’s face. The blonde man nodded, before pointing at one ship in particular. “Ah. Then wait by that red one on the end. That one’s theirs.” He said, as he drew Levi’s attention to the ship the knight-commander and royal magician had come in on:

Morgan was the last one out of the room, quite a bit later than the others. It was no wonder Max had to come knocking. But when the door finally opened, she walked out in her new outfit that was more befitting her status as a mage than a Princess. With her new staff in hand, and a book Merlin had given her floating in the air behind her, it seemed either she was regaining some of her passive control over magic... or maybe that book just floated on its own. It wasn't out of the question considering who gave it to her. It was a wonder it didn't talk too.

In her other hand was chained necklaces with crystals that seemed to radiate a warm light. It wasn't just a warm glow like the sun, but the light from each crystal seemed to warm the soul just being near them. And around her own neck, was a much larger one than the rest.

"Sorry Max, I was trying to finish these before everyone left. Listening to them last night, they are all so scared of being separated. So I wanted to find something that could help. The book Merlin gave me had a spell in it but, I needed to figure out this whole magic thing before I could cast something so specific." Holding them up, the gems each shined with a light that was more than just a glowing trinket. The light felt radiant, pure, divine even. It was the light of a soul, not just some magic trick. Max likely didn't know much about magic, let alone the specifics of such a spell, but he didn't need to to know that these gems were made from Morgan's own light, from within her.

By time they went to eat, everyone was already gone. But she couldn't just, not eat. Still, she rushed herself a bit. She didn't imagine anyone was going to wait around for her.

It wasn't too much time later that everyone was gathering at the landing pads where they would separate into their different groups to head to different worlds. When everybody was there, she spoke up for the first time since the fight the day before.

"I know everybody is nervous about being separated. I know you all haven't been apart like this before, and you don't know when you will see each other again. So I... made something for everyone." Holding up the necklaces so everyone could see, one for each of the islanders. "I still don't fully understand my magic, or the things I do with it. But, these should let everybody stay connected. You can't talk through them, and it's not perfect. But if you look into the crystals, and you focus on each other, then you will be able to sense each other, and get a glimpse of whoever you are thinking about. It will temporarily connect your hearts, no matter how far apart you are. You can feel each other, so you know that whoever you think about is alright. It only works with others who wear them, so unfortunately it can't really help anyone find Alias. But, so long as you hold onto these, it means you don't ever have to truly be apart."

Were any of them to hold the crystals up to their ears, they could even hear them making a faint song. Fortunately they could only hear it if they really focused on it... otherwise such a song might get a little bit annoying after a while. Even if it had an, unnatural calming effect to it.

She had one for each islander, and one larger one around her neck. She had earlier that morning had someone give one to Zac. It was the first one she made. Given that he intended on trying to support them when needed, she figured it might be useful if he had a way to know if any of them were in distress.

Putting a hand on the lager crystal on her chest, she said "So long as this crystal stays intact with me, then all of the others will be connected to each other through it."
What she didn't tell them, and what Daisy likely knew, was that this sort of magic had created the crystals from her own heart's light. And the reason she had her own larger crystal, was that she was constantly feeding that light, and therefor a portion of her magic, into the crystals. The song that could be heard was quite literally the sound of her heart. It would limit her somewhat in her magic abilities, but she decided it was worth it to help everyone stay connected.

"The crystals should also act as a minor healing trinket, but, don't rely on it. They can help you get your energy back after a fight, but it's not going to keep you standing in a fight." That was, unless she made it so. She didn't really want to tell any of them that this was actively costing her a portion of her magical reserves, or that she could send her power through the crystals to heal them if need be. Doing so would allow her to heal anyone who needed her help, even if she was worlds away. But this method would take much more of her mana than if she were there in person. A singular, simple cure sent through the gems would cost her the same amount of energy as if she cast ten of them on someone standing right in front of her. Nobody needed to know that though. Except Daisy, who she hoped would keep quiet about it, and understand that she had decided the risks involved were necessary, and worth it. Besides... supposedly she was some great Mage with a massive reservoir of magical potential. All she had to do was unlock that potential, and the impact these necklaces had on her abilities would be a drop in the bucket... probably.

With the explanation out of the way, at least the need to know parts, she gave every islander one of the necklaces... and tried not to let it show if it effected her when they each connected to each other.
