Each character will have a power and weapon relating to the God they are a Successor for. These are what I have come up with, discussion can be had if you had a different idea that does not clash with something someone else already has.
The appearance of the weapons are entirely up to you. Some are more traditional weapons, while others are more tools that powers can be channelled through or used to help elevate others' powers if you so choose.

All characters also have the following:
Divine Intuition - Something in their mind that helps guide them in the direction that they should go, particularly when being drawn towards the other successors or to help find where they need to be in the next part of their quest.
Enhanced Durability - They can take more hits than a regular human and don't tire so easily. This does not, however, make them impervious. They are still mortals, after all.

Further explanation for each power so it's more clear what they entail.

Atmokinesis - Control and manipulation of the weather, in a designated area. Excellent for dramatic effect when using the lightning bolts.
Telekinesis & Mind Influence - Move objects with the mind, and also subtly influence others through their mind to affect relationships and decisions (although not with other Successors).
Hydrokinesis - Control and manipulation of water in most forms, including freezing and boiling. Turn the tides in your favour.
Shadow Manipulation - The shadows are yours to command, alongside being able to hide in the shadows and move between them without being spotted.
Solarkinesis - Use the power of the sun to bend light, form shields, or absorb it to unleash an attack. Unfortunately considerably weaker at night.
Lunakinesis - Use the power of the moon to force sleep, encourage truth to be told, or absorb it to unleash an attack. Unfortunately considerably weaker in daytime.
Super Speed & Levitation - Travel faster than anyone. Even vehicles you drive bypass the limit and everything around you seems to slow down and/or jump out of the way. With levitation, you can even float/fly around seven feet in the air, zipping around with ease combined with your super speed.
Illusions - Creating visual and audio illusions to disorient and trick others. Especially that which might be the target's heart's desire, which you are also able to see.
Super Strength - What it says on the tin. A boulder is like a pebble to you. Sometimes brute force is just the way to get things done, and luckily, that's a piece of cake for you.
Divine Wisdom/Strategy - Blessed with strategic genius, you can form a plan that will ensure success... provided everyone follows it. You are also blessed - or perhaps burdened - with divine knowledge about the Titans, Gods and the creatures that will be coming to hunt you and the other Successors.
Pyrokinesis - From a gentle cooking fire to a blaze, control and manipulate fire, much like the hearth Hestia represents. Not to be messed with, your fire is equally helpful and dangerous.
Plant Manipulation - Control and manipulation of plants. From reviving a sickly houseplant to blessing a field of wheat - but also being able to wilt and doom the harvest. Such is the cycle.
Metal Manipulation - Metal will bend to your will. Melt it and reforge it into something more useful. Or useless for the enemy.
Disguise Self & Voice Mimicry - Look and sound like anyone, for trickery or mischief purposes. Even be able to throw your voice as a distraction. A theatrical nature will be very helpful.
Necromancy - Temporarily resurrect the dead, whether for information, additional soldiers, distractions or to allow for a final goodbye. Can also sap lifeforce from those you make skin contact with, using it to heal oneself or another (again via skin contact).

Domains will be discovered in the roleplay. Domains are, to put it simply, pocket dimensions of sorts. Each one pertains to a different God, and have multiple entrances/exits, so there's not just one way to access them, Such entrances can be in all parts of the world, so remember which one you came through, or you may end up in a different country. They are also where the Gods are able to manifest themselves physically (although we perhaps won't quite use that feature in-roleplay). Successors will certainly feel a closer connection to their patron God in these places, however, not just in their Gods' specific domain, but also those that are aligned closely, and may receive aid in such places.

Only the Successors can enter the Domains, so a regular human stepping through what would be an entrance will do nothing. This, however, does include the Titan Successors, but the Domain will do its best to reject evil.

Examples of such Domains could be Demeter's Grove, Hestia's Hearth, or Hephaestus' Forge. Each player can come up with the Domain for the God that their character is the successor of if they would like.

Throughout the quest, the characters will also have to learn to work and fight together. The Successors' divine intuitions must be carefully attuned so that they can first find their tokens for the entrance to the Underworld. Gaining such tokens, however, will be no easy task, as the Successors will find themselves tested and made to realise themselves. Oh, and they're being tracked by the Titan Successors, who are under instruction to stop them no matter what.

The Successors' ultimate goal is travelling down to Tartarus, where they will use their powers to reseal the Titans in their cages. To get there, however, they will first have to gain entry into the Underworld. Short of dying - which won't help anyone - they will have to take the long way down. No compass or map, just their divine intuition. They will also require a token each, which look like ancient silver coins, each with a different image.

To get their tokens, each Successor will, at some point, find themselves undergoing a test. Perhaps a test of strength, or willpower, or courage, or something else. Something that will challenge them, push them to their breaking point and have them come out the other side either utterly defeated, or with a newfound strength and, perhaps, a lesson learned.

The Titan Successors will be NPCs that will be brought in and used as and when they become relevant.
These eight have been corrupted, almost possessed, by the Titans, granted great power. Defeating them and breaking the Titans' grip on them will help greatly in weakening the Titans when it comes to resealing them later.

Chronokinesis - the control of time, whether stopping someone in their tracks, slowing someone down or speeding up the growth of a plant. Requires contact with a hand/foot or with weapon.
Light Manipulation - Much like solarkinesis, using light to form attacks, shields, etc.
Future Visions/Prophecy - Able to receive brief visions of future events that may or may not occur. May also help in locating where certain people are/will be.
Celestial Energy - the manipulation of energy from the stars, calling upon certain constellations for various attacks.
Memory Manipulation - Affect the memory of the person they are in direct contact with. Can also bring forward unpleasant memories to distract and disorient target.
Pain Manipulation - Can make pain feel worse or better than it actually is, whether to make a target overly confident or incapacitate them.
Aerokinesis - control and manipulation of air/wind.

The Titan Successors' powers will develop and grow in strength over the roleplay. As NPCs, anyone can use them, particularly in fight/actions scenes so you aren't waiting for me/someone else to respond with them - basically, play of them passes onto whoever interacts with them.

Awakening happens quite quickly. The Successor 'blacks out' and in the void, they hear the voice of their unexpected patron God/Goddess, who explains briefly about what is happening, and instructions to find the other Successors, and to trust their intuition.
They'll then 'wake up' in the exact position they were in when they blacked out, this time holding their gifted weapon, and a sudden sense of being 'powered up', instinctively knowing how their weapon works and knowing what their power is. For their power, they'll know the basics, but throughout the roleplay, will get to explore its extent and uses.

Secondary blessings will also be discovered throughout the roleplay, in the form of either a secondary power, weapon or other object of sorts. We can discuss these to figure out what they'll be for each individual character, to make sure they don't clash with something another character has (perhaps Apollo's Successor will discover some form of healing/music power, for example).

Spectators will have a blink-and-you've-missed-it moment, where the Awakened will suddenly be holding their granted weapon, as if no time has actually passed.

- One or two reasonable paragraphs per character. Don't feel as though you have to write multiple long paragraphs, I'd prefer something that would help keep the story going rather than prose that goes nowhere.

Appearance: Niko is broad-shouldered and visibly athletic, with the look of someone who has spent more time in gyms, back alleys, and late-night shifts than anywhere polished or comfortable. He has dark hair usually worn messy or cropped short, bruised knuckles more often than not, and an intensity in his eyes that makes him look angrier than he usually means to. His style is practical: hoodies, boots, worn jackets, gym clothes, and anything he can move in.

His spear appears as an ancient bronze weapon with a dark iron core, the haft wrapped in red-brown leather. It is not elegant or ornamental. It looks old, brutal, and purposeful, like something made to draw a line in the dirt and dare the world to cross it.

Personality:
Niko is young, hot-blooded, and too quick to take a threat personally, especially when someone vulnerable is involved. He has a temper and a dangerous instinct to answer fear with violence, but beneath that anger is a genuinely good heart. He is protective to the point of recklessness, the sort of person who steps between a stranger and danger before he has had time to think about whether he can win.

He does not see himself as heroic. If anything, he is afraid that the worst parts of him are the truest. Being chosen by Ares has only made that fear worse. Niko wants to protect people, but he also knows there is a part of him that enjoys the moment when he finally stops holding back. His struggle is not learning how to fight. It is learning when to stop.

Short Bio:
Niko grew up in a working-class home where being strong was useful long before it was admirable. He was the kid who got into fights for other people, the teenager teachers called “trouble” even when he was defending someone else, and the young man who learned to take a punch before he learned how to explain himself. As an adult, he works around a local boxing gym and takes security jobs when money is tight, quietly looking out for younger kids and vulnerable people who remind him too much of himself.

He has always had a particular hatred for men who use fear, size, or power to corner women. It is not a polished belief or something he talks about with noble words. It is simpler and angrier than that. He has seen people look away too many times, heard too many excuses, watched too many threats get dismissed until it was too late. Niko does not look away. Sometimes that has made him a problem. Sometimes it has made him exactly the problem someone else needed.

His Awakening came after closing time at the gym, when he heard a woman screaming in the alley behind the building. At first he thought it was an ordinary assault and the kind of thing that made his blood turn hot before his thoughts could catch up. Then he saw what was really there.

Harpies.

They clung to the fire escape, the walls, the roof above, all talons and ragged wings and shrieking laughter. One had already dragged the woman to the ground, while the others circled and mocked her panic in voices almost human enough to be worse. Niko did not understand what he was seeing. He only understood that she was terrified, hurt, and alone.

So he ran in.

He fought like an idiot, because that was all he had. Fists, elbows, broken bottles, anything he could grab. He managed to tear one harpy off her, but another opened his side with its claws and a third slammed him hard enough into the wall that something in his ribs gave way. He should have stayed down.

He did not.

When the woman tried to crawl away and one of the harpies dropped toward her, Niko got between them again. Bloody, shaking, barely able to breathe, he still raised his fists.

That was when everything went black.

In the void, a voice like bronze, blood, and thunder spoke to him. It did not praise conquest. It did not ask for cruelty. It told him that war was not always glory, and rage was not always shame. Sometimes war was the hand that closed around a spear because someone had to stand between the predator and the prey.

When Niko woke, no time seemed to have passed. He was back on his feet in the alley, bleeding and shaking, but no longer empty-handed. A spear of ancient bronze and dark iron rested in his grip, and the harpies’ laughter died in their throats.

Appearance: Azalea is tall (5'7), pretty, fair skinned, and has caramel colored brown eyes. She has a bright, wide smile, dimples, and long red hair that goes just past her shoulders. She's not very aware of how conventionally pretty she is, often thinking her eyes are too big for her face. She doesn't really put that much effort into her appearance and isn't one to wear makeup very often, the occasional mascara pops up sometimes, though.

Her style is simple, bright colors, and very floral. She loves anything flowy and light, loves dresses and anything feminine. She's very much a flower/fairy core type of person in the way that she dresses and really does enjoy looking like she belongs in a forest as Queen of the fairies. She loves pastels, soft fabrics, and anything green (it's her favorite color).

Personality: Azalea is smart, but not all the time. She can be quite airheaded from time to time, despite always having her nose in a book or in some soil. She loves the outdoors, flowers, plants, books, painting, music, and animals. She has a soft spot for children, is compassionate, patient, and kind to a fault. She is not a person to be mean to anyone, or to dislike anyone really (except bullies). She is the light of every room she walks into, but she's also a wallflower to her core. She is not one to initiate conversation, is not very confident in herself, and gets anxiety around large crowds.

She's convinced she is too much, even though she could stand to be so much more. She questions everything she does a thousand times in her head before doing it, will edit and correct herself more often than she should, and shies away from any spotlight placed on her. But when she gets mad (it's rare, but it happens) steer clear, because she gets scary. She is a firm believer in right and wrong, fair justice, fair treatment, and that everyone deserves kindness and respect. She's soft-spoken but her words always carry weight.

Short Bio:
Ever since she was a child, Azalea loved nature and everything about it. She often thought it was just a coincidence, being named literally after nature and then having an affinity for it. She had always been the quiet kid who played with plants, read too many books, and didn't have a whole lot of friends. She much preferred the company of plants and books to people, finding people confusing and tedious. Plants didn't want anything from you but water and sunlight, they didn't leave you when you weren't interesting enough, and they didn't expect you to fill the silence with mindless noise. Azalea could have spent her entire life in the forest, or a greenhouse, anywhere there was foliage and life.

She had gotten a job in a flower shop, with it's own greenhouse or two, and she loved it. Her life was simple, go to work, come home, read a book, go to bed, and then do it all over again. She loved it. She loved her two cats (two female orange cats named Barley and Clove), her three snakes (one Rosy Boa named Rose, ironically enough....a ball python named Sage, and a corn snake named Lemon), and her bearded dragon named Stella. When she wasn't at work or tending to her garden, she was spending time with them. They were her closest friends.

Her life was simple... and then she awakened.

She'd been at work, tending to the flowers in the greenhouse when she had heard a noise outside, it had sounded like a strangled cry. Azalea had walked outside, where a small fountain that flowed into a slightly larger pond sat. The water was acting strangely, taking form...the form of of a woman? It was some sort of human-like figure but with longer, pointier ears. Azalea had read about elves, but they couldn't actually exist. Convinced she was losing her mind, she almost turned back into the greenhouse. But then, it was like her head was splitting open, her vision went blurry for a moment, and she had this cacophony of voices explaining that she was a successor...to the goddess Demeter. Before she could even gather her bearings, her vision cleared and the voice vanished. The small tool in her hand (she'd been using a small, hand tiller to tend to the soil) seemed to transform before her eyes into a slightly larger green sickle and gold sickle.

Azalea wasn't sure what compelled her to jump into action, instinct over thought for sure, but she felt herself lunge forward and slash at the figure with her sickle. The water exploded into a pool and splashed onto the ground, and Azalea stood there panting.

So, that was why she loved plants...why she'd always felt an affinity for them. She remembered looking down at her hands, wondering where her life would lead her now. The voice had told her to find the others, making her believe she wasn't the only one. Had they all randomly awoken with strange weapons like she had? What else about her had changed? Azalea's head swam, what had she just gotten into?

Samantha H. Ross ‘Sam’ | 24 | Female | Hephaestus Successor

Appearance:
‘Solid’ would be how most people would describe Sam if asked. Squared shoulders, and well muscled arms and legs, she’s built for power and endurance not a sprint. A practical sort with little interest trying to pretend she’s something she’s not, she generally keeps her hair tied back to keep it out of her eyes and work. Her hands are callused and scarred from years of fighting with stuck fittings and rusted bolts, and her forearms carry a burn scar or two from unpleasant encounters with hot engine parts; most notably she’s also missing her right leg just above the knee, though between her prosthetic and the fact she’s never been seen wearing shorts most people are unaware of that.

Clothing-wise she’s usually in jeans, work boots and a t-shirt, all of which are usually grease stained to some degree. If she figures she’s about to get into a job that might get really messy you may see her in a set of coveralls; the last time anyone who knows her saw her in anything ‘nice’ was the thrifted suit she wore to her high school graduation. (She’d never worn or owned a skirt or dress before that and wasn’t about to start then).

Her hammer in many ways is rather unremarkable. A simple one handed cross pien hammer with a flat face on one side of the head and a tapered one on the other side, it is a simple and reliable tool, and yet it is much more. Sam has yet to find anything that can withstand it for long.

Personality: Calm and methodical, Sam would rather do it right the first time than rush things and have to do it again. She’s slow to anger but can be stubborn at times and has been known to hold grudges for quite a while if she felt she was slighted enough. She has a love for all things mechanical, and despite appearances can have remarkably light and deft touch when she needs to.

Short Bio: That Sam was going to grow up to be a ‘grease monkey’ was pretty much a given. Both her parents raced at the local dirt track, and thus both she and her sister grew up in and around the oily, noisy world of motorsport. While she was certainly taught to drive dirt track cars once she was old enough, she never took to it the way her sister did, instead preferring to spend her time in the pits working on engines, transmissions and such pretty much from the time she could hold a wrench and follow directions.

At nine she built her own go cart and by the time she was old enough to (legally) drive she’d rebuilt and sold a handful of cars and motorbikes, and countless smaller motors. It was just shy of her eighteenth birthday when he lost his leg; out on the backroads she took a corner a bit too fast as the bike hit a gravel patch and lost it. Unlike too many her age would’ve been, she was at least wearing proper gear, but no safety gear was going to help her right knee hitting a rock at 80 kmh. That was the first big change in her life, the second was when she ‘Awakened’. She’d been ‘Burning the midnight oil’ as the saying goes, getting her sister’s car ready for an upcoming set of races, working alone in the old barn that was the shop on the family property. Like usual when she’s been on her feet for too long, her stump was starting to bother her, which was a sure sign to call it quits for the night. A sound behind her made her turn around just in time to see a set of shelves, full of parts fall towards her…and a figure obviously pushing said shelves over. Before that could all register though, it all went black and she could smell burning charcoal and hot metal and a voice calling itself Hephaestus spoke to her. It spoke of Successors and Titans and other mad things, but she knew with the same certainty that she knew water was wet and fire hot, that it was all true.

When the world came back, she was pinned under the debris and an indistinct figure stood over her with a sword. “Nothing personal,” They said, aiming to stab her through the heart. “But you’re in the way.” Her eyes fixed on the blade, a thought came to her and the blade crumpled like tin foil as she lashed out with a free hand, that was now holding a hammer. The impact should have shattered her attacker's knee, but they seemed remarkably durable; any further interactions were interrupted by the sound of her rapidly approaching family, drawn by the colossal crash of the falling shelves. She’d looked away from her attacker for an instant when she heard her father shout and in that time they’d vanished.
