A good point, if Willy confirms that he is still with us, the Mars Destruction is canon(or perhaps an agreement can be made to retcon that bit), if he drops out, then Mars is whole.

@LordZell Not quite sure, I would say they, the martians, and everyone else that is inactive would be in NPC status. Depends if the player stays but will not be available for a while.

Earth is all that's a mess. All the major colonies of sol have either fell in line with imp remnants or have been destroyed. Also, with it being 200 years since the fall, any space faring assets have long since been destroyed or left.

In sol, the decision was made not to waste energy terraforming after mars. The mars struggle made the planet into a breathable one but is sparsely populated and still desolate. Few earth plants that could survive had to mutate as they no longer caught the sun as on earth. The world is still very red but with some decent sized oceans.

Far cheaper to establish colonies on already life possessing or in the right position for life.

So aside from mars, all sol colonies are either dome or subterranean. Some being pretty huge like Ganymede, home to over 1 bil spread out on various above and below ground colonies. The biggest has as much sq ft as spain.

Went off on a tangent there.. I'll add info on sol to my ns soon. Figure its important. Lol.

Ok, so sounds like it would be entirely reasonable for me to have a ship skulking around in the asteroid belt; I figure Sol's detection array was prly foobared long ago

Also,@Sigma we talked about the camo and stuff, can you tell me the restrictios of techs and designs? Cloaking, warp, death rays, homing plasma shots, sun destroying torpedos and such. I figure most was a chatzy chit chat that never made it to the actual RP, but I like to know my boundaries before making another mistake (see: cloaking).

I can have the story altered so the Mars did not blew up.
It perhaps makes more sense than humans secretly developing a planetary shield to survive the event.
Also it may give them another motivation for conflicts.

We have billions of stars.
Can't we at least have star wars style superweapons? I mean we are bound to do the sci-fi cliches. The scale even supports this.
I thought we only banned "cheap" tactics which are difficult to practically impossible to counter.
Then again I missed over a week worth of discussion here.
Anything new I should know aside from having some 20 players now?

And you are right, we did ban Cheap tactics and such, and the scale does support such a thing. Its just I don't want people quitting over planet-destroying superweapons.

Some examples would be say, a ship cloaking and decloaking at will to throw a few torpedoes and such, or sniping ships with FTL weapons.
