Avaline, Sorcha & Maoin

Sorcha gave Luna a rather irritable glance from where she laid on the bed. Run? She was...she was totally serious, wasn't she? The dragon pushed herself off the bed, yawning loudly. Hmm...well, if it was just running a lap around the city then that was something she could do with ease, but she got the feeling Luna wanted something else from both of them.

"Master Luna!" Avaline raised her claw, waving it seriously. "I don't have legs so I can't run." She stated rather seriously. She didn't know what this whole thing was about. "Oh oh, and can I take tiny human Sol with me?" She didn't seem to entirely understand this was a punishment of some sort.

"You fool lizard, this isn't a playdate." Sorcha muttered, stumbling off the bed and stretching. "But fine, just a lap Luna? I realize this hidden rule is likely ridiculous, but very well. I shall do it." She turned to Maoin. "I suppose you'll have to do that thing I discussed with you tomorrow instead, or later this evening." Sorcha commented rather coolly, making her displeasure at Maoin's actions known. "At any rate, I suppose I'll get started. A lap isn't too difficult." With that, the dragon gave a powerful flap of her wings and launched herself out the window in her usual fashion. She'd take her time though. No need to rush. Luna likely wasn't looking for the fastest time here, so she'd use the time to figure out what exactly she did want.

"Master Luna! Can I eat first?"

Maoin stared at Lady Lightsword, her mouth dropping a bit. Only themselves to blame? She didn't ask to get up early! As the knightess continued, Maoin listened to the details, mouth a little dropped at the sheer absurdity of the situation.

She respected Lady Luna, sure, but she wasn't her mistress. And if Lady Sorcha hadn't decided to fly out the window after lecturing her, the cat would have likely just told the knightess to shove it and gone back to sleep.

Still though, the cat wasn't too happy. Lady Sorcha wanted her to think for herself? Fine. "Depend on eachother? Lady Lightsword, if I may," Maoin cleared her throat a bit. "I cook your meals, take care of the house, do the laundry - Lady Luna, I wash your dirty panties ... which you could use some serious help in selecting, given that they have the sex appeal of an amputated horse." Maoin put a hand against her chest, exasperating that statement. "And talking about laundry, I still need to wash everything from the trip."

The cat let out a sigh though. Ultimately, Lady Sorcha was angry with her. Maoin's ears fell, folding just slightly. The kitten's gaze became a bit less aggressive.

"... you might be my better, but you aren't my owner. But fine, I'll play your silly game anyways." Maoin intended for her voice to be a bit tougher and confident than it sounded.

It was rather obvious and apparent what the insane woman wanted them to do - run around the town together, or at least something of the sort. She could leave whenever she wanted, so the cat started to change - right in front of Lady Lightsword, throwing her new dress into the laundry and pulling out one of the dresses Lady Sorcha had already abused.

Maoin turned to Avaline. "Look, you liz-" The lizard did outrank her, as distasteful as that was to admit. "Miss Avaline, your master here just wants us to-" The kitten paused, cutting her explanation short. The lizard wouldn't be able to tell what she was talking about anyways. "- ... you know what? If you follow me around the town, and don't drift away from me, I'll cook you a nice, BIG, large breakfast!" The cat gestured with her hands, indicating the size. "Miss Avaline, if you're REALLY good, I'll even throw some candy in!" The cat was smiling, although Lady Luna would probably be able to tell it was the polite smile of a shopkeeper dealing with a difficult customer rather than the genuine smile one gave to a friend.

Maoin opened the door, waiting for Avaline to follow her out if there were no objections.

Avaline & Maoin

At the mention of food, Avaline immediately turned to Maoin.

"A-ah! Really? Big? How big? A whole boarman big?" Her eyes sparkled at Maoin, obviously eager to eat as her tail wagged back and forth. "Yes yes! I shall not leave the little kitten's side! Lead the way, small black furry mammal!" She followed Maoin towards the door, clasping her hands together and watching Maoin with big eyes.

Khira & Miren

Khira, was irritated.

"This room is too small. Cramped." The Chimera growled irritably, snake tail flicking back and forth as her claws gripped her own forearms. "...rabbit, what do you normally do to pass time? There is nothing to hunt here. Humans are poor prey."

"E-erm, pardon?" Miren had gotten up early to fix breakfast, and Khira followed her out. She was probably used to waking up early to go hunting. "Pass the time?" The rabbit turned off the stove, hopping over to the table with a heavy looking pot full of steamed vegetables and beef. A simple stew. Ever since the carnivores moved in, her food expenses had gone up a bit. "W-well, I usually...read or write, when I don't have customers in the store."

"...Hmph. Expected." She grunted. She thought about possibly visiting the other woman that was with them last time. Katherine, was her name right? She could at least pass the time there. "...grrah. Apologies for being irritable. This place is simply taking some getting used too."

"O-oh, it's alright, Khira." Miren replied, grabbing a few fresh apples and a slightly burned steak off of the stove. "Coming here from the forest must have been a big change for you." She plopped the steak down on a plate where Eith usually sat.

"Mhm. Never before."

Fox

Location: ????

"Y-you...!"

"That is quite enough..."

"Why, sister! WHY!?!"

"...little, Mie...rest, please."

"REST? YOU WANT ME TO REST?! Sister I will rest when-" There was the sound of an animal whine, the sound of something clamping shut, clanging of metal against metal as something was pulling heavily against it.

"Mie..."

"She's a feisty one, isn't she? Even after we did that to her...Oh don't give me that look, fox. You agreed to this - it was the only way we could keep her here. Unless you want me to tell Lord Inari about what the both of you did, hmm?"

"...no, it's fine."

"Good. You work for me, then. Otherwise, your precious little sister might just...well, you saw what happened to the others."

The fox rolled over and fell on top of Sel's face.

"Gah!" She bolted straight up, paws pressing against the humans eyes as she shook her head. Ouch, that particular one was always annoying. Tsk, talking about her like she wasn't there. Pathetic. If they hadn't muzzled and shackled her she'd have eaten the both of them. Well, whatever. The fox hopped off of Sel, realizing she had slept far past the time she should have. Sel was likely awake by now after that, but oh well.

"Maaaaster," She called out in her usual voice. "You should get up already."

The noblewoman woke up only surprised for a moment - fox on the face syndrome was becoming rather typical, and absentmindedly Sel swiped above her face and only hit empty air.

What was that dream? Sel looked over towards Sly, only feeling some anger ... and perhaps a little fear, as well? It was rather apparent that it had been Sly ... no, Mie's dream. The mage gave her familiar an unusually inquisitive look, gauging her and the entire situation. She supposed it wasn't impossible that they would share a dream, would it be?

"M-"

For a couple of seconds the mage considered calling Sly her real name, but hesitated and decided against it as she stood up, turning the M sound into something that hopefully passed off as a sort of tired grunt. That was her previous life, a seemingly depressing one. It didn't matter. This was her new life, and in this new life she was Sly, familiar of Lady Selvina de Zaberbuch. "Yes, good Sly, always making sure Master is up on time." Sel raised an eyebrow at the small fox. "You just need my company that badly, don't you?"

Sel looked towards Lady Gwynn, who hadn't commented because she was either asleep or silent. "Hey there, Gwynn. Ready to go?"

"Yes! Boarman big!" Maoin exclaimed with false enthusiasm as they walked out of the door, the cat pretending to ignore Lady Luna's large eyeroll. What was a boarman anyways? Did they even exist? Avaline was probably just talking about something she'd imagined - she was practically a child, after all.

After double checking to make sure the lizard was following her, the cat began to jog away from the house - partially to get away from the currently insufferable Lady Lightsword, but mostly so that if the knightess was watching she'd have seen them run for at least a short while and wouldn't be able to demand another lap. As soon as they were securely out of sight though, Maoin slowed down to a casual walk and began to look towards the sky, hoping to spot her mistress. If she spotted a Lady Sorcha shaped speck in the sky, the cat would wave. It was rather obvious what the knightess wanted after all, and the sooner they all pretended to be a happy family the sooner this would be over with.

Maoin let out a sigh as the dragon didn't materialize, continuing to walk along their path and generally looking away from the lizard - she would be able to hear if Avaline decided to run away in her stupidity, but luckily she seemed intent on following the 'Small, Black, Furry Mammal' for now.

The cat really hoped the lizard didn't decide to start a conversation due to her body language, though the blasted creature probably would anyways - if she didn't, after all, she might realize how empty her mind was without the sound of her own voice and stop functioning. And given the problems Avaline was causing around the house, that'd be a blessing.

Eith the Shellagh

Voices. It was still early wasn't it? Blah... Why did every seem to be an early riser? Eith soon found herself rolling slowly towards the edge of the bed until she plopped off and onto the floor. "Ow." She muttered as she looked around. No one was in the room it didn't seem. "Hmmm." The Shellagh moved forward a bit, crawling on the ground until she got to something she could stand herself up with it. Once standing, she realized Miren was cooking breakfast... Or at least, that's what the smell was.

The hound soon moved herself into the kitchen and threw her arms around the nearest of the two, Khira in this case, to support herself since she just wanted to go back to sleep anyhow. Her chin rested on the Chimera's shoulder and the rest of her body just kind of slumped. "Good morning... I smell food."

Kozue Komichi

Kozue woke up early as she was use to doing. It was a mostly normal one. Well, mostly except for one thing. There was another priestess she had allowed to rest in her current quarters. Hopefully, the doctor wouldn't walk in and question it. Rather she clothed and woke the woman. "It's not good to sleep too long. It's time to wake up."

Avaline & Maoin

Unfortunately for Maoin, she'd be learning very quickly keeping up with Avaline was going to be hard. By the time they had left the house, the Wyrm was already excitedly looking at everything, straying from the straight path and on several occasions almost losing sight of Maoin entirely. The only reason she seemed to slither back was because of Maoin's promise of food.

"Hey hey...small cat Maoin." Hah! She was learning names! Take that universe! The Wyrm was looking at her expectantly in her usual over excitable manner.

Khira & Miren

"Grah!?...oh...Alpha Eith. It's just you." Khira nearly tossed Eith off of her, almost expecting a sneak attack of some sort. Ugh, she wasn't used to quite so many people yet. "...Alpha doesn't mind a little skinship, it seems." She chuckled as Eith laid on her. Not that the Chimaera minded, quite the opposite.

"Uhm, morning Eith." Miren greeted with a friendly smile. "And yes. I just finished making breakfast."

"Hm, it smells good at least." Khira commented, her tail smacking Eith on the head. "Lazy Alpha should wake up."

Fox & Gwynn

"Ah, Master," Fox sighed. "It's unfortunate, but I need you about as much as my sister needs to live." She chided, though it was easy to tell she was simply being her usual self, if a bit more grumpy seeming. Gwynn, though, had been silent most of their return trip. After everything that happened...she didn't feel better at all. She felt like, if anything, she was back to square one on some level...but Sel had assured her that this was the right choice...

"...O-oh, yeah." Gwynn pulled herself from her own thoughts, and after a stumbling over her greeting she was seemingly back to her old self. "You know, if you two want I can leave and let you two have a room."

"Ha, like I want to be alone with Master...the things this deviant wants to do with animals."

"...Sel, if you are abusing this adorable little fox in any way I'ma take this sword and do some not so nice things to you."

"Please do. The times this deviant has wanted me to sleep with them like this. Ugh, I shudder at the thought."

Chione

Chione grumbled lightly as she was urged to wake up. Blegh, she was never a morning person.

"Moooorning..." She sleepily greeted Kozue, sitting up where she had been sleeping and stretching. "Sleeping on a real bed for once feels great. Sarcophagi do not make great beds." She chuckled lightly to herself, brushing a few strands of loose hair out of her face. "...hmm, You're up early Kozue."

Selvina glared at the other two, who throughout the entire trip had been giving her consistent but well meaning teasing.

Well, she at least hoped it was well meaning.

Sel flicked her familiar in the forehead playfully and leaned forward slightly in her direction. "Gwynn, If I was anything but extremely kind this fox would have her ass beaten so hard she wouldn't be able to sit for a week." The wizard raised an eyebrow at the fox, obviously joking. "About spending the night together though, I wouldn't mind using your tail to charge my spell book tonight. It's been pretty well expended and you seem to have plenty of energy in that tushy of yours."

The mage had started feeling a bit more comfortable around the difficult kitsune, which meant she had started teasing her back. She supposed that's what trust really meant. The mage started walking before she continued speaking.

"Anyways, I'm thinking once we get back in town we stop by somewhere to eat - I'd love something decent for once - take a good, nice, long bath, and then at least I should talk to the headmistress. I'm graduating - with honors, but I'll probably try to get employed as a professor or a librarian. If that doesn't work out, I have other plans. Either way, I'll have to talk to my lord father afterwards and explain what's going on." She thought for a moment, looking towards Sly and the other noblewoman. "As for you Sly, you can do whatever you want for today. Thanks for your hard work." The fox would find a hand briefly petting her head and a pouch of coin placed into her hands.

As of now, she hoped Sly would take her up on that offer. She needed to think about that memory she had seen - she'd heard that familiars and mages could share dreams at times ... and she needed to think about what to say to the fox, alone. It'd be impossible to hide it forever though, and she'd rather bring it up before the fox did.

Maoin sighed a bit as the lizard began to speak to her. She knew this would happen, despite her hopes. "Yes, yes, my name is Maoin, Miss Avaline. And I was summoned from a cat." She supposed it would be a bit easier to keep the girl with her if she at least pretended to have a decent conversation. "Is there something you need?" It was a curt, but hopefully not overly rude reply. After all, the land wyrm was her better in spite of her low intellect.

Eith the Shellagh

"Owie." Eith casually muttered as Khira's tail hit her. She wasn't lazy... Just... Ok, maybe. "I think I like the word, 'lethargic' instead." Eith mentioned as she moved to a chair around the food table. She just looked out to everything and... Well, it looked good. She just grabbed her steak and bit into it. Food was food was food. "Ish gewd." The hound said without swallowing her food yet. She wasn't one for typical manners.

Kozue Komichi

"This isn't early, rather, it's just about on time if I'm to be honest." Kozue mentioned as she went to grab her staff from the corner of the room. "And I agree. The beds here are nice. I'm accustomed to bed rolls that tend to be not as comfortable. Well, regardless, it's about time for me to go on my training regiment. Would you care to join me?" She asked as if it were something common people do. "It's not only good for your body but also your mind."

Avaline & Maoin

"O-ohhh," Avaline wilted somewhat under Maoin's somewhat curt statements. "B-but, ehm, y-you mentioned food?" She questioned, holding the tips of her claws together. "I was hoping we could get to that? Breakfast is the best meal of the day. Nothing is better than waking up to a freshly caught boar." She grinned, holding her hands on her hips, still looking at Maoin expectantly.

Khira & Miren

"Eith, swallow your food before speaking." Miren sighed, earning a chuckle from Khira.

"Lethargic? Lazy is lazy. Fancy words will not change that." She mused, taking a rather large slice of meat for herself. "Rabbit, are we speaking with the one that could fix Eith today?" She questioned. It seemed at least that Khira wanted to get that over with soon, though whether it was actual concern for Eith was unclear.

"W-well, I do think we should do it soon. If Eith feels up to it, I think it would be for the best." Miren grabbed a handful of vegetables herself, nibbling on them slowly.

Fox & Gwynn

"Ah, my master seems to underestimate how stubborn I am. I don't have to sit, if I can simply lay down, now do I?" Fox chuckled, before taking a mildly more serious tone. "And if you used my tail to charge your spellbook, I can't be responsible for what happens to it." She rather cryptically replied, stretching her body out and yawning.

"Ah...right, we'll be getting back soon." Gwynn said, glancing to the ground. What should she do? Should she go say hi to Maoin? She should probably tell the Headmistress what happened, if she didn't already know. Either way, she couldn't stay for more than a few days at most. She had...well, work to do. "Well...as for myself, I am going to get me a nice big drink and spend the rest of the evening figuring out how to work this holy sword with a complicated name." She grinned.

Fox cast a glance over to the girl. Gwynn. Out of all the humans she met recently, she liked that one the most aside from Ayumi. If only because she was amusing and let her be well, herself. After everything that happened though...she had to wonder if it was alright. She had been in a similar position herself some time ago...forcing yourself to fight for a cause or something you don't fully believe in, never ends well for anyone.

Well, maybe it would be the gods this time who paid the price.

Wasn't her problem now, though.

Chione

"Training?" She thought for a moment, holding a hand to her chin before giving Kozue a smile. "Certainly. It would be good to get in some practice myself. It has been awhile since I have been able to have consistent practice." Normally her training consisted actually doing things and practicing them. That's how one learned to be a successful thief or dancer, at least...but those were things that happened long ago when the sands were warm and the sun was hot. A long time ago. She didn't particularly enjoy fighting, but having a healthy body was something anyone should hope for.

"Lead the way then."

"Please Gwynn, just don't destroy the school, I hope to be employed there." Selvina had a smile though - surely the gods wouldn't have given her this responsibility if she wasn't capable of handling it?

Otherwise, the wizard was content to continue walking in silence until they arrived at town, at which point the mage would give her familiar and former betrothed the customary goodbyes before heading to the baths herself. Soon enough, she was decently clean - a more thorough scrubbing would be needed later - and well fed with a hearty and warm breakfast. With a sigh, Selvina approached the headmistress' office alone, guessing her fox had run off to talk with Ayumi and Gwynn was too busy drinking. "Hey, Headmistress, you in yet?" If the door opened, Selvina would walk in.

"Not so fast." Blocking the entrance of the room was Aetheria, who had slipped in now that she heard her patient had woken up, her voice monotone and without much emotion. "Not that I'm opposed to you getting a little exercise, but I'm honestly surprised that you'd bring a girl home to the clinic. Aren't there better places to do such things?"

The white mage let out a small yawn before looking down at them, expression relatively flat as she seemed to wait for whatever reasons or excuses the pair would come up with. "And besides, I want to look over you again later today. I want you back an hour after noon, alright?"

"Yes, food. We'll get to it once we get home - I'll cook you a nice, big feast for breakfast. We just have to finish walking around the school, miss." Maoin kept her eyes on Avaline for a few seconds, letting out a sigh as she found herself babysitting this morning rather than cooking breakfast or doing anything that was remotely productive. "I can cook pork, if that's what you are asking."

Or did Avaline really just want raw, uncooked, unseasoned boar? She supposed with that little intellect anything was a possibility.

Eith the Shellagh

"Fine." Eith said as she chewed her food, not quite getting what Miren was saying. The other two talked about her being fix or cured or whatever the issue may come up to be. "I'm ready. I feel so empty as I am. Since meeting you Miren I feel more full in here." The Shellagh said, bringing a hand to where her heart would be. "I want to do this as soon as possible." She seemed insistent on it at least. "But first, we need to eat our food."

Kozue Komichi

Kozue smiled. She hadn't had anyone to train with in a while. In fact, she had just about ran solo since she left the temple... Heck, it might have been since even before that in reality. She lead the exercises, but it was hardly like she took part of them herself. "I hope you don't mind a good run to start." She asked... before Aetheria came in. Then the woman did. Of course she had to complain about something right when she went to leave for training. "I'll return when I can, Aetheria." The nun said, looking at the woman.

Avaline & Maoin

"O-oooh...so, later then?" She asked sheepishly. Could she not eat then? Master Luna didn't say she couldn't. Avaline looked absolutely depressed, face wilting as Maoin didn't say she had meant later back at the house. "Maybe we could stop for a quick snack now though?" She gave Maoin a hopeful look, holding her claws together. Her tail had coiled around her as she stopped moving for a moment, the end of it lightly moving back and forth.

Maoin couldn't be cruel enough to tell this adorable creature no, could she?

Khira & Miren

"Yes yes, food." Miren sighed, smiling softly. "Finish up then, when we are We'll go visit Aetheria."

"Mhm, good." Khira replied. "It will be good to be doing something productive." She stretched, glancing towards the door. "Hmm...I'm going to explore this new place. One should be familiar with their own territory."

"O-oh? P-please try not to scare anyone..." Miren sighed. Not that she expected the woman would intentionally get into trouble, but she didn't exactly...mesh well with others around here, a lot of the time.

"Hmm...Rabbit, I only promise not to eat those who annoy me." Khira chuckled as she headed for the door. "I shall be back soon, don't worry."

"T-that doesn't put me at ease at all!" The rabbit called after her with a whine. Ooh, this was going to end badly. She could feel it in the pit of her little bunny stomach.

Livia

After parting ways with Gwynn and Fox, Selvina found herself heading to the headmistress office.

"Ah Sel...I've been expecting you," She commented as the doors opened. She offered her a small smile, seemingly the only people in the room being the two of them. "How was your little trip, hm? Gwynn didn't give you any trouble I hope? That girl is quite the handful." She chuckled.

Chione

"O-oh? I do apologize for my sudden intrusion." Chione gave a respectful nod to Aetheria. "Don't be too hard on her...she was just being a good Samaritan and helping me." She followed Kozue, giving a smile to the new woman. "I suppose I'll introduce myself later, Kozue doesn't strike me as the type to like being kept waiting." She laughed before leaving the room after Kozue, not giving Aetheria another glance.

"Now, as for running." She gave Kozue a sly smile. "I did quite a bit of that in my old life...I may be a little out of practice, but I am confident in my physical ability." Chione did a few stretches, and gave Kozue an eager look. It had been awhile since she had done anything like this and she was feeling a little excited.

"Greetings, Headmistress." Selvina gave a polite hello before continuing. "She gave about as much trouble as one could expect, though the fox being along with us as well made it more difficult ..." Sel gave a brief description of their trip - she'd leave it up to Gwynn to fill in the details. "Hope I didn't disappoint you there. Anyways ..."

The mage leaned forward a bit as the story was wrapped up. "You already probably know what I'm going to ask, so I'll spare you on the details." Selvina flipped through her tome, looking at the notes. "I'm graduating, and I'd like to stay here for a bit longer. I know you've been looking for teachers, researchers, and a new librarian. I wouldn't mind filling one of those positions if you'll have me."

For a couple seconds, the mage went quiet. She hoped that the Headmistress would be interested in having her ... but perhaps a bit more would help persuade her? "You know my grades are excellent, and beyond that the general knowledge of the material. Additionally, I have powerful family ties. Also, I'm probably one of the five most bookish people in existence, headmistress." She hoped she sounded more convincing than she felt. For all she knew, the headmistress could be looking for someone who could play the ukulele. "And I've been both a man and a woman. That sort of experience has to be worth SOMETHING on a resume."

Aetheria simply rolled her eyes, returning to the main office and sitting down. Strange people, priestesses were. She truthfully never understood them, but it wasn't much of her business. It wasn't her job to convey the will the gods, at least. It was her job however to enjoy that mug of coffee that she drank as she waited for the first patient of the day to enter.

For all she knew, someone would get their arm cut off through some strange mismanagement of a spell. Or someone would try to cast a certain type of 'enlarge' spell that would need to be fixed. That was surprisingly common among the few male students the academy had - everyone in the school was a whore, and even the whores whored on each other. And the whores who didn't whore on eachother had familiars to whore for them. At least her most recent patients weren't that much into sex, or otherwise the new girl would have found herself on the side of the street.

Maoin glared at the lizard, harsh words leaving her mouth as she was exasperated at Avaline's lack of disipline. "You can't wait until we get around the school? Seriously!? Did you believe I'd cook something as I walked!?" The cat sighed. This lizard was her better, and deserved to be treated with kindness. "Fine - I understand miss. Here." The cat tossed a couple of coins towards the lizard. There were few places open at this hour, but one of them was nearby. "Go inside and eat. I'll wait out here for you to be finished ..."

The place Maoin pointed to had quickly cooked fish on sticks, something that hopefully the dimwitted lizard could consume quickly to tide her over until they managed to return home, where the cat would cook her a nice, big feast and force herself to resist the temptation to add poison to either her own or Avaline's portions - she wasn't sure at this point which one would be more effective at resolving her problems with the dimwitted lizard at this point.

Eith the Shellagh

"Be Shafe." Eith muffled through her food as Khira left. As much as she seemed to be discomforted, she didn't seem all too bad here. She swallowed her food and looked to Miren. "Perhaps I'll have better plans for our pack once I have thought to spare." Eith mentioned, looking forward to undergoing this ritual of sorts. "Once I'm free of this curse, what do you think will happen to me?" She asked the rabbit, thinking of the very few possibilities that ran through her mind.

Kozue Komichi

With Aetheria gone and the priestesses outside, Kozue joined Chione in some stretches. It made her feel better before a run. "Your old life?" It sounded like it had more meaning to it than what she interpreted it to mean but for the sake of ease, she didn't put much thought into it. "I see, shall we do a bit of light jogging to get you back in the spirit?" She asked, curious of what would be a good pace for this woman. It'd be a decent start at least, and now was as good as any to get going with the time constraint put on by Aetheria.

Sorcha & Luna

Sorcha had taken awhile to complete the lap, taking a long slow route high above the city to calm herself. Luna wasn't happy in the least, which meant she wasn't happy. But it was difficult. A wise old dragon, too far set in her ways to accept any other viewpoints other than her own without someone literally possibly beating it into her. Story of her life, really.

She knew she could try being a little nicer, but at the moment all she could manage without just shoving the opposing lizard out of her home, was what she was already doing. She hadn't a clue what she could do. She could likely figure out what Luna wanted out of this easily enough, with a little thought…but she wasn't sure if she could actually do it.

With an irritable growl, she turned from the skies, diving right back towards the dorm and entering in her usual fashion. Through the window. She sat herself down on the floor with a rather audible thud, giving Luna cool look, though she didn't immediately say anything.

After Maoin had left, Luna had made busy. Sol was still asleep, so Luna decided to make a small bit of breakfast. There was some of the ham leftover from last night and she put a couple of things together that would probably be easier on the stomach. As she was cooking, she didn’t have to look back to know it was Sorcha returning. ”Welcome back.” She said, putting her cooking utensils down and turning to her number one familiar. ”I’m guessing you either figured out the hidden rule and don’t want to do it, or you haven’t and you’re irritated with me because of that.”

She walked a bit closer to the dragon before speaking again. ”I assume you’ve figured out my plan at least. Maoin has seem to at least… Though, she could stand to not assume I wouldn’t do things on my own if she weren’t around. That girl has some poor manners at times.” The Knightess didn’t really seem to think about what she did earlier. ”Perhaps I should ask, why do you think I treat Avaline well?”

"Because you have no reason not to." Sorcha replied, huffing lightly. "It is different for me. It's not that I wish to be, but that I must" Not the whole truth, but far from a lie. "It is simply the way our kind have always treated each other. Wyrms are, and always will be lower than us, and I have no reason to be anything other than coldly civil."

Luna stood and listened to Sorcha. ”Hmm, well, I can understand. At the same time though…” She put her hand up to her head as if in thought, before lowering it and looking Sorcha in the eyes. ”I doubt you’d even try to think of it this way… Or even want to… But maybe you could think of her as family? You’re both my familiars and I’d love to get you two to like each other. You could think of her as a stupid little sister or something of the sort.” The Knightess giggled a little bit. ”I must admit she’s not all up there.

"Luna," Sorcha sighed, adjusting her stance slightly, putting most of her weight on her right foot. "It's harder than that." She curled her wings around her, crossing her arms across her chest lightly. "I have a certain…image to upkeep. I am a dragon. A Grand Dragon who was once a queen, mind you. Granted, it hasn't happened in a while but were I to meet another dragon and they saw me even tolerating her presence I'd immediately become less of a dragon and more of a prideless hatchling." Sorcha gave a sideways glance towards the window. It was honestly, somewhat of an excuse.

"…and to a dragon, Family means far less then you think it does. Granted we tend to mate for life so long as our partner lives, but we are terrible with siblings and children. Most dragons hardly ever meet their children…and for siblings, well…" She made a motion with one of her wings. "Let me just say that we are solitary creatures by nature. We don't have 'sisters'. The only reason I am currently tolerating her, is because of you."

”Is that so?” Luna asked, turning away from Sorcha to attend the food. ”I suppose I understand. In a way. It seems unreasonable to my human sensibilities though. Or, perhaps it’s just a Lightsword thought.” She was mostly just trying to hide the slight disappointment on her face. ”I believe everyone deserves a chance. Peasant or noble. Aside from the original… Incident, I believe Avaline has shown herself to be a good girl. I wish my most dependable partner and her would get along well.” She said, whispering lightly the last part, ”But I suppose I was hoping for the impossible.”

"…I suppose you haven't seen me when I…converse with others, have you?" Sorcha continued with a frown. "Of course, they all deserve a chance, but a Queen cannot treat the peasants the same as she treats someone in a position that you are in, or other nobles." It wasn't exactly easy to admit to Luna, since Sorcha knew she wouldn't like hearing it. But it was the truth. Aside from Luna and Maoin, and a few…other people, she mostly treated everyone with a cool distance. "Of course, I am not harsh or cruel or mean. I just keep the others at a respectable distance as it should be."

"It is…worse for Wyrms and Wyverns. Dragons such as myself, consider us to be the true dragons. The perfect dragons. Wyrms and Wyverns are simply weaker and lower than us by nature. Our pride will not allow us to accept them as anything other than trash, otherwise we feel as though we give up that title." For many dragons, it was the only real thing they felt they had. At least, that's how she always felt for the longest time. Pride was hollow, like that. "If I accept her, then you are effectively telling me I am no longer a dragon."

Luna just went silent for a minute. Unsure, of what to say. It didn’t seem like she would change Sorcha’s mind. ”...” She silently gathered together some food and put it on a plate. ”If you want to relax, then you should eat quickly and go finish up with the goal of the exercise. Eat before you go, though. You get the first bite today, okay?” She handed the plate over to Sorcha.

Sorcha frowned, taking the plate.

"…I will try. But telling a dragon to lose their pride, is like trying to change the seasons."

”I just want you to guide her back here with Maoin.” Luna said, still disappointed.

"…that is all?" Sorcha replied, mildly confused. "That was this hidden condition?" She smiled slightly, rolling her eyes a bit. "Luna, dear, it's…going to take a little getting used to. I'm an old dragon who's not so easily swayed. It's difficult to change ones way of thinking and beliefs after so many years of having them…All I can do is promise to try, but…"

”I never was realistically asking you to make friends with her, as much as I wish it were so.” Luna said, continuing to look at Sorcha. ”At the very least I want you not to scare Avaline into a practical panic every time you get angry at her for whatever reason.”

"It's not like I'm trying too." Sorcha replied with a sigh. "And she called me fat."

”You called her ‘thing’ to be fair. Now then, taste it and tell me what you think. It’s not Maoin’s or the tavern’s, but I think it’s rather good.” Luna said, looking to Sorcha rather expectantly. She obviously really wanted Sorcha’s opinion. It was a fairly simple pork dish, so it was nothing really amazing.

"Hmm…" Sorcha took a bite out of the meat, silently contemplating it a few seconds. It certainly wasn't the best, but it certainly wasn't bad either. Had a certain…strong quality to it? She wasn't quite sure. "Could maybe be a little more…well done." The dragon said after a few seconds. "but It certainly is good." She gave Luna grin. "Maaaybe cook for me from now oooon?~" She hopped a bit closer to Luna.

Luna chuckled slightly. ”Hehe. I doubt Maoin would let me cook. She seemed greatly against it last night. But, maybe I’ll cook in the near future.” She added, scratching the back of her head.

"Tsk, no fun." Sorcha gave Luna her best pout. "Your food is ten times better than Maoin's." She grinned, quickly finishing the food. "Ahem, I suppose though, that I should be going. Knowing that lizard she's likely either gotten herself lost, or has dragged Maoin halfway across the city by now."

”That’s true. She’s innocent at heart, but she has no real sense of direction. Anyhow, I’m putting my trust in you. I’m sure you wouldn’t betray me, would you?” She added with a smile.

"Sense of direction is the least of her problems." Sorcha grumbled. "And of course! I would never do something like that." She scoffed, genuinely pouted a bit at the suggestion. "Anyways, tell Sol I said Hi. I'll look for her and make sure she's not gotten into any trouble." Unless Luna did anything else, Sorcha would once again leave through the window in her usual fashion.

Avaline & Maoin

"Ah!" Avaline visibly lit up at having the coins tossed to her. "Yes! Thank you!" She didn't comment on Maoin's other comments. Obviously if she was being nice to her, then she didn't mean anything bad at all! She gave Maoin a happy smile before slithering quickly into the place the cat had pointed out. Needless to say, having a dragon just barge in like she owned the place, was not something the shop keeper was used too - for a brief moment, he panicked before realizing the lizard was staring more at the coins in her claws than him.

"...erm...can I help you?"

"Yes! How much fish will these shiny coins get me?" She shoved the coins into his face.

"Uhm..." He took the coins from the lizard, the older man taking a few seconds to count them before looking at her and the fish on sale. "You want...fish." Avaline nodded eagerly, holding her claws together in an endearing child-like fashion as she looked at the man hopefully. "Hmm..." The man rubbed his chin a bit, taking one of the fish and waving it in front of Avaline's face. She couldn't help but to follow each movement of it, mouth open and drooling slightly at the sight of it. And then, in one swift motion he tossed the fish into the air...and Avaline followed, leaping backwards in a fairly agile manner, catching the fish in her mouth as she started chewing on it.

"Delishous!" The Wyrm replied, causing the man to laugh.

"Here!" He handed her five fish, along with her money back. "For making an old man laugh." Avaline looked at the fish, the money, then back to the man.

"W-waaah? You mean it?" Avaline looked absolutely ecstatic before coughing and doing her best 'grand dragon' impression. "I-I mean! Your offering has pleased me human! Yes! So much so that I will frequent this establishment more!" This caused the man to laugh again as Avaline took the fish from him, holding them between each of her claws. "Now if you'll excuse me I have to escort small cat Maoin so she doesn't get lost!" Despite her attempts to take a more regal and dignified tone, her tail was doing a poor job of keeping her happiness concealed. Even so, she slithered back over to Maoin looking quite pleased with herself.

"Small cat Maoin! I bring food! Oh, and money you can have it back."

Livia

"Aha...well, first things first...being both a man and a woman is nothing special," She mused, smirking coyly at Selvina. But yes, she had expected this much at least. She wanted a job here. Nothing out of the ordinary. Many students who came here wanted a job at some point. After all, the rest of the world wasn't as kind to magic users sometimes. That said though...Selvina had been a constant, though unwitting, thorn in her side quite a bit. If such a trend continued, it'd be rather...annoying, to say the least. As well, her 'family ties' were something that concerned her a bit.

She didn't get along with blue-bloods at all. She was of noble lineage too of course, but she considered herself a mostly self made woman. She didn't use her parents money, or hide behind some gods power. All of it was her own.

"Hmm...well, I already had a librarian position lined up, though he perhaps isn't what you're expecting." She mused. "So that position is off the table." Livia grabbed her teacup, taking a sip of the contents. "As for researchers...I'll put it bluntly. You want to, fine, but I'll need to see some accomplishments of your own and how well your own discoveries are. So if you want to spend time working on that, go right ahead." Livia sat the cup down. "Which leaves just the teacher position...but I digress, I am not too eager to hire someone who has no experience teaching others...or comes from a blue-blooded background. Many teachers and staff here come from commoner origins." She let her words sink in for a bit, shuffling a few papers on her desk. Truthfully, she really didn't want to hire Selvina, but the potential pros of doing so outweighed her personal cons at the moment. She could be a useful tool, whatever happened.

"So I think what we could do is something like this. You will...'apprentice' under a teacher for a few months to a year. You will help them with their tasks and you'll get first hand experience. Of course, I will pay you, though it won't be anything like what the actual teachers get paid. During this time, if you so happen to research something that is anything substantial, I will consider funding your research personally."

Chione

"Mhm, yes, a jog sounds nice." Chione replied. "I am eager to see how well my body has kept up with its age...though I have a feeling spending a few hundred years in a tomb doing nothing but cleaning it and prayer doesn't do well for ones physical ability." She chuckled in a mildly self depreciating manner. "But worry not, this body shall not break or falter so long as I keep focused." It was the truth, more or less. She hadn't done anything but what she had mentioned for the last few hundred years. Aside from the occasional attempts at grave robbery that she had to deal with...but such things were dealt with easily.

Miren

"O-oh? I don't know?" Miren replied honestly. "Hopefully you'll just be...better? They mentioned its like some sort of lock on your mind, which is dampening your ability to function." Realizing Eith may not have entirely understood that bit, Miren continued. "For example, it's dulled your mind. Made it less sharp, and perhaps is limiting you in some way." That was the best Miren could do to explain it, though she wasn't confident that Eith would entirely understand at the moment.

Selvina frowned slightly, only revealing a portions of her worries as the headmistress seemed prepared to deny her. However, her time with Sly had taught her not to panic - or at least not to show it in an overly visible manner. Her reaction seemed to pay off as the headmistress made an offer.

It was fair, at least. "I ... I find that acceptable and reasonable. I may be a good student, but I have never demonstrated my excellence in either research nor teaching. Though I have read up on the theories of it." Then again, she had practically read up on everything. "Payment is no concern in the short term, really. You may not appreciate my blue blood, but I do enjoy it's perks. I'll probably have my father and his compatriots set me up a nice tower if my moving here is a more permanent fixture, unless you have something in mind. Either way, I still need to talk with my family. And besides, I need to hire a servant or get another familiar. I did promise Sly she wouldn't be a simple servant, and I intend to follow through with that."

Selvina seemed to think for a few minutes about the possibilities, but waited for a couple seconds. "I assume I'll start those responsibilities in full at the beginning of next semester? Who would I be working under?"

Maoin listened to the exchange, not bothering to turn and look at it. Escort me home? Isn't she the one who made us stop? She would have been impressed by Avaline's display if it had been an honest attempt to get a good deal rather than just being her simple state of mind. Still though, Maoin took one of the offered fish sticks and couldn't help but smile just slightly - and just for a moment - as she took a bite from its side and felt the coins add a little weight back to her pouch.

It seemed Miss Avaline had a useful talent, even if it was getting guillible and well-meaning merchants to offer discounts on tasty things. "Yes, yes, something like that miss. Thank you. Now let us get going." Maoin turned her tail to the direction they had come from, hoping that now Avaline had eaten - she still had 3 fish left - she'd be able to make it through the remained of the trip without causing another problem.

Eith the Shellagh

Eith tried to comprehend. She got the gist of it, really. Though she wasn't thinking about the depth of it. "So, what you mean is I'll be smarter afterward?" She really only knew it's make her think better in some way, shape or form. If that were so, than that alone would make her extremely happy, or at least as much as she could show it. [color=red]"If that is so, then I'll be happy! I could help out more. Be more leader-like. Would that make you happy?" She asked, looking to Miren with as much excitement as she could.

Kozue Komichi

"Very well, let us start." Kozue said, leading Chione on as she jogged her usual course. It was a slower place than she usually used though. From the medical facility, she lead on through town. It was early, but there were still a few people out. After the town, she turned to the lake and went around most of the lake, stopping at one point to take a small break. It had been a bit and she was feeling a bit thirsty. "Let's take a couple of minutes to rest and drink. The lake her is of a very pure quality, as a spirit inhabits and purifies it constantly. Admittedly, it's delicious."

Katherine Lindall

"Oh? Suggesting Apprenticeship? No offense, but I think you lack some of the social graces... Or at least pretending to have such, for a teacher as of now. We can whip you into shape though, I suspect." Katherine said, entering the room with Meowka in tow. She had, of course, witnessed the whole exchange. Just like every other conversation Livia had. "Still, perhaps we should wait for after graduation? Not that I'm of much help in that department with my recent "field trip" but I must say that many of our students are taking active retreat from classes." The teacher sighed a bit looking over Selvina.

"Perhaps you'd like to be my apprentice, Selvina." Katherine suggested, half teasing but also serious. She looked to the noble questioningly though seemed to remember something before looking to Livia again. "But pardon me, I merely wished to informed you that I believe that Eith is more than ready to get her ritual over with. Though I'm sure you're aware."

Livia

"Ah...hello, Katherine." Livia smiled faintly. "You know as well as I do, I don't care about so called 'classes' so much. One can sit inside a lecture hall as much as they want and still learn nothing. All I care for is practical experience. So long as a student passes their exams, then I care not so much for that." The headmistress hummed lightly, leaning back in her chair. "I'd say the more 'field trips' a student has the better. And yes, I am aware of the Eith situation. It would be best for Me, you, and Miss Gagne be present for that. Less chances of something going wrong if the three of us work on it." More importantly though, she was a little concerned about what Selvina said. A tower? Well, that might not be so easily done.

"Ahem, now Selvina." Livia continued, turning her attention to the other girl. "While technically I own all of the land the academy is built upon, I do not own the land outside of it. That is, the town. The Mayor and I are on good terms but for the most part I do not have the authority to allow someone to build anything there. You'd have to speak with him for that." Livia leaned forward a bit, resting her arms on her desk. "And I can not allow special treatment for a single mage to build some gaudy unnecessary tower just for them on academy grounds either. It would send a rather...rude message to most people. I could, potentially put in a good word for you with the Mayor, but I doubt he'd let a single mage build a tower to live in, in a town already full of mages without significant benefit. As I said, the message that would send to people is a little...not something neither of us would be too fond of."

Hopefully Slevina understood that somewhat. Letting a mage from a powerful family build a tower in the city would send the wrong sorts of messages to certain people. A little...political statement, if you would. Perhaps she was being a little over cautious, but such as the way she was and built her little academy over the years. Politics was a complicated matter, and people looking to discredit others were always there. If she allowed a single mage from a powerful, older family to build something such as a tower anywhere on or near her land, it could be spun or taken as her accepting, or bending knee to them. Certainly that would not be the case, and while she could deal with potential detractors, she'd like to have to not deal with the hassle.

She had a reputation to uphold...and she was sticking firmly to her beliefs, be they political as well her portrayed moral beliefs on this one.

"I'm not saying you can't dear - I'm just giving you a forewarning that you won't have an easy time of it. Money and power of other people mean very little inside this place." It was true - if anything she'd be amused to see Selvina succeed at this. The Mayor was an...lets say, scrupulous if lackadaisical sort. "Now, Katherine," Livia continued changing the subject a bit. "I did indeed, have you in mind when I made this suggestion. So if you would be up for it, I think Selvina could learn quite a bit from you."

Chione

Chione, for the most part, kept up with Kozue. At least she tried to. After only a few minutes, it was becoming painfully aware that spending the better part of a few hundred centuries in a dusty tomb, was not good for your physical ability. By the time Kozue came to a stop, Chione was wheezing and sputtering, doing her best to catch her breath as Kozue offered her some water from the lake.

"Bleeeegh," Chione fell to the ground, resting on the land near the lake covered in a large amount of sweat as she wheezed, trying to catch her breath. "Forgive me father, for my physical body is not up to my mental or spiritual one." The priestess rolled over onto her back after giving what was apparently some sort of small prayer, or perhaps she was just being silly. Judging from the small pout and whine, it was likely a little of both.

"Koooozue," She whined. "That...was worse...than traveling through the underworld and meeting the chaos serpent Apophis." She groaned. "Look at meee, I'm covered in sweat and yuck and I can't breath ugh how can I flirt with people like-" Whenever she was tired, she tended to fall into her old self just a bit. "Ahem, I mean, wow, look at that water so crystal clear and cool." She sat up, shoulders slumping a bit as her tired body tried to tell her to become one with the earth. "A...spirit you say?" Chione questioned, looking at the water and walking to its edge. It certainly looked clear...and there was a hint of divinity to it as well, wasn't it? Chione hummed lightly, dipping her hand into the water and taking a sip of it.

"...ah!" it was delicious! Not to mention. "This is certainly something...my body feels lighter already."

Miren

"I-I mean," Miren stammered out. "I like you just the way you are right now?" She did - Eith was cute in a certain adorable way, but she was worried that at some point she might hurt herself like this. "But y-yes, I would feel much better." The rabbit said, taking a few of the dishes back to the kitchen. "It's a little...erm, disheartening to see you stumble about and always struggle to understand things. It's difficult to talk to you sometimes, but worse is I feel like you might hurt yourself sometime."

Miren walked back into the room, looking a little embarrassed for having said that.

Meowka had listened to plenty of the conversation as she approached the room, following Katherine's heels. The puppeteer didn't seem to mind her being around today, which seemed to make her happy. The girl's tail went back and forth happily, especially as the bookish woman gave a reply.

"Miss K-Katherine? Sure, that would be an honor-" Selvina began to reply, but the familiar was already doing the job of putting her in her place with an authoritarian tone.

"Of course it is." The cat glared at the noblewoman, who looked around a bit awkwardly before returning her attention to Livia, who discussed the issues with moving in. Selvina thought for a few moments, but after a bit of deliberative thought couldn't help but bring herself to agree - or at least understand - the Headmistress' hesitation with the idea. Sure, it was a tradition for wizards. But at the end of the day, she wasn't even a full professor or researcher.

"I ... I think you are right, aft-"

"Of course she's RIGHT. The only person worthy of having any monument to her name around here is Mistress Katherine. Learn your place, apprentice. You should be glad to know you are apprenticing beneath the most powerful mage in the world." For a couple of seconds she realized that the headmistress was therefore considered lesser than her own owner, but after a couple of seconds realized she had been correct. After all, no one but the strongest could have ever captured her. Obviously.

The noblewoman looked at the teacher's familiar a bit confused, and tried to hide the disagreement on her face to hopefully prevent the cat from having another outburst. "A-anyways. Towers are really just a tradition, but I know you don't exactly appreciate that ... do you have any suggestions about somewhere large I could move in on campus, then? Perhaps something large enough for five people to live ... comfortably? In case I have guests? Maybe an abandoned manor or a large townhouse of sorts? Any ideas on where I could find someone to work in Sly's place as well? I need to keep that promise."

Meowka seemed content with the noble girl's response, and instead decided to give her obviously important input to the other conversation. "Eith is that dog, right? Why do we care about her?" It was hard to tell if Meowka meant we as in all the civilized folk in the room, or we as in her mistress but either way she seemed a bit confused. "I thought you liked cats, mistress? I never took you for one to enjoy the company of a mutt."

Sel was a bit curious about the ritual, but kept her mouth shut. She'd probably learn more that way.

Otille Kohler

The farmer's eyes opened to the world slowly, her arms stretching out from Cocoa's tight embrace. Oh, I nearly forgot about that. Though she'd a pleasant thing to wake up to. Otille found herself petting her familiar's head before she stopped - no matter how cute Cocoa always managed to be the petting would wake her up, and that was rude. The peasant slipped out from the bed, stretching her limbs and yawning as she woke up, looking down at her pet as she headed over to their meager belongings.

She still wished she had what she had what she had gotten before. Then she could have gotten Cocoa something that would actually fit a bit better. And maybe something pretty for herself as well. Still though, the girl slipped into another one of her dresses and looked out the window. She still had at least a few hours before she was supposed to meet up with that pretty, dreamy, noble knightess. She had said something about negotiating the debt, but that had obviously been intended as a cover. Obviously she knew what was going on, right?

Though perhaps she should take care of her new financial struggles before thinking about a nice date. Otille let out a sigh. Maybe she should go to the headmistress again?

Eith the Shellagh

Eith's ears went up at Miren's words. "Miren..." She said, just watching the bunny. She stood and walked over to her. "Thank you." She said, hugging her. "I'll change, but I'll be the same Shellagh." Eith could tell that her bunny minion-friend was worried about what might be, but Eith wanted to assure her that nothing would be bad with this. "I'll still like your food!" She almost excitedly said. "Should we go for a walk before this happens?"

Kozue Komichi

"I'm glad." Kozue said, standing back a little bit. "The Spirit does a rather good job in keeping the lake clean. We should feel lucky here, me most of all perhaps." She commented, thinking about the help she had given in reviving the black fox. "You plan on 'flirting' are you?" She questioned, questioning how a priestess would do such a thing. Her understanding was most priestesses anywhere were suppose to have been visions of virtue. "Curious."

Katherine Lindall

Katherine sighed. "Meowka, no need to be rude." Of course the cat was trying to show her dominance. "And yes, yes. Mutts are fine. It's just part of my job. Research and such and such. It's be nice to reverse engineer magic so we know how to counter such things in the future. Whatever curse she's under is very thorough so it'll take all three of us as Liv-- I mean the Headmistress, said. Either way, that's for not far in the future." She seemed very serious as it were.

That behind her, she turned to Selvina. "Yes, well, I'll take you as my apprentice. Just let it be know that you'll be undergoing the Ten Labours of Heracles, plus two." She warned. The seriousness of these claims though seemed... Not as quite there. "Either way, be glad you look as such. I hardly think I'd accept a man as easily." She teased.
