@Xan the G I'd forgotten to mention this, but your post doesn't indicate the weather and time-of-day described in the first post. Because of this, I've set the response to you in my post the morning before everyone else.
I just wanted to let you know that you're not going to be on the same time-line as the others until it is played through. I'm not requiring you edit your post, I just want to make sure it's understood before I post (which is going to be a few minutes from posting this).
I'm also adding a line suggesting he has an "accent" due to his not being from Hoenn. I just like the idea that they have different dialects (or even languages if people want to develop that aspect of the setting).

if that's the case, then all of our characters have accents – haven's from johto, jin's from alola, diego's from unova, and nicholas 'johnny' is from kanto.

I had plans I didn't know about tonight, but I'll try to get the Route Notes up tomorrow after work (if not, they'll be done Wednesday). I'd just like everyone to look them over when I do get them up and tell me what everyone thinks about them.
Any other contributions to the Map, Mechanics, or Technology, other Regions, etc. is also always welcome. I want to make sure everyone puts in what they're comfortable with and make this everyone's RP, not just mine. ^^

Super sorry if this is a stupid question, but I was reading through some of the OOC thread just to make sure I'm caught up on everything and I saw something briefly mentioned about post frequency? What is, roughly, the goal we're aiming for on that?

Mainly because I don't want to seem like an excitable, yippy dog everything someone posts. ^_^

Well, how do you feel about that proposition, @Kymera? Is posting once a week for this too frequent for you or too slow...? If like to try to get a post in every week since that works for me best, personally. It will, if course, carry from time to time, but I'd like to try to keep a general schedule. ^^

Well, that would be up to everyone else, really. How "exotic" would you be comfortable going? It's just another layer of depth to add to your character if you'd like.

I like the idea of anything that adds to character complexity. I may think on it and see if there's subtle things I can add to Rai's speech patterns that'll reflect some localization.

If you, personally (not your character), were a Gym Leader, what type would you be? What type of Pokemon would you have? What would your badge be and what would it look like? Would you gauge trainers of a particular trait or would they just have to beat you? Where would you be located (anime/manga/game or real life)?
The setting in which you place is completely up to you. The rules and regulations are completely up to you. Whether Pokemon know 4 or 234357893274 moves is up to you, etc.

For an example, I'll share mine. It's based off this RP's setting (so you can also get an idea of how the GLs function).

-Stipulations-
I would look for adaptability and creativity.
Adaptability: Using offensive maneuvers defensively to prevent damage. Using defensive maneuvers offensively to counter/damage me.
Creativity: Using maneuvers to accomplish something other than it's intended purpose.
From 0-4 Badges, I wouldn't have any limitations or stipulations. Just a normal "defeat my Pokemon with all of your Pokemon."
From 5 Badges and on, a challenger would only be able to use as many Pokemon as I would use.
From 10 Badges and on, a challenger would only be able to use as many Pokemon as I would use. The challenger would be able to choose the Pokemon, specifically, but the order in which they are used will be randomly determined.
From 16 Badges and on, a challenger would only be able to use as many Pokemon as I would use. The challenger would be able to choose the Pokemon, specifically, but the order in which they are used will be determined by me. Switching Pokemon, from both sides, will not be allowed unless the Pokemon is determined to be defeated, otherwise, the round is considered forfeit.

@Phoenix Ohhhhhh, now I follow you! Hmmmmm... That's a tough one. Here's my first thoughts:

I’d want to do a blind gym leader. Think about it! The communication, both verbal and nonverbal, between trainer and Pokémon would have to be phenomenal. They’d have this deep understanding of Pokémon, almost on an instinctual level and would have trained themselves and their team accordingly.

So this isn’t exactly along the lines of a traditional “type” gym leader, but being blind I think they’d be using Pokémon specifically for sensory deprivation. (Ie, sight, smell, sound) and have their attacks specifically designed to hamper at least one at a time, perhaps more as the battle continued on with lingering arena effects (Thinking of you, sandstorm).The idea being that with one sense gone, trainers would then have to rely on others (just as the gym leader does). More than that, even as trainers work their way through defeating the gym leader’s Pokémon, as each of their weaknesses is made up via another’s strengths.

And of course, she’d be set up in the Desert on route 111. I think the badge would look almost like an eye of sorts.

The battles themselves would be double or triple battles (Thinking along the lines of a blind person and a guide dog working together).

The leader would judge based off of teamwork and adaptability. Teamwork being the trainer’s ability to understand strong Pokémon may very well share the same weaknesses, and their ability to compensate for that. And adaptability being how they address the unfamiliar adversity, and being suddenly robbed of a key sense.

I've added to the Map Notes in the second OP. I haven't finished the descriptions, yet, but let me know what you think of the format/calculations. Does everything seem intuitive enough? Is it understandable?

I don't see any issues with it. My favorite thing about it, are the route difficulties. I don't know if this would have any sort of impact at all, but I feel like for some of the more difficult to traverse routes, there would be some manner of age or skill restriction? Like, you wouldn't find a 10 year old out on a Lvl 5 route, would you?
