Well, that worked.

"Ow!" Cleon was moreso lazy than ill-prepared for the woman's retaliation when she took one of the empty cups and slammed it against the top of his head. While he had a moment to whine to himself, it was far more surprising to see her take the former seat of the orc. His eye caught wind of his unlucky orc associate being dragged away, and everyone finally getting off his case.

Taking a breath, Cleon rotated to the front of his seat, cupping his hands together. "Look, I did not mean to insult your womanly pride that much," he found it strange that she, of all people, was still in his presence, even after his witty remark. He knew that he had a bit of an attitude problem, but the man had traveled for weeks on end, and simply put; he just wanted some alone time.

And then, Cleon unwillingly began to let the remorse kick in. Sighing, he pinched his thumbs together, his head sagging down for a moment before he turned to the woman. "I came into town after a week of roasting in the desert," he started, figuring that if the woman was a knight, she was educated enough to understand a bit of empathy. "Wasn't in the mood to get my skull driven down my throat today by that orc, unfortunately."

He dug into his pocket and flipped a few gold coins on to the table, to cover for his past drinks and the woman's tankard. "So, sorry for calling you a prostitute," Cleon shrugged. "Well, unless you consider it a compliment. Anyway, everyone's been bothering me today for some reason, what do you want?"

Airdan Valtumal

@Rekaigan There was a pause from the girl. The bartender who patiently waited for her response quickly interjected into the conversation betweem them to clarify. "He means if you'd like a drink, he'll pay on your behalf ma'am. Usually a flirtous gesture around these sorts of places." Airdan's expression turned that of pinkish tincture around the cheeks as he dryly forced a laugh whilst waving his hand jazz-like.

"I don't understand what you're talking about! I-it's just a gesture of hospitality! A-anyway, like she said, any special drinks you'd like to order?" The bartender rolled her eyes away from Airdan, who now had one of his fingers scratching his head with an awkward grin towards her. "Yes, like she said, I will be paying the expenses for it." He steadied himself and naturalised his voice gradually. "Cocktails, wines or ale... Whatever your poison may be."

So the strange man did have a good reason to kill the orc, after all. Strange-- she had heard things about the Far West, about how many would just murder each other for no reason at all. Jocelyn remained quiet after he spoke, mulling over his words as she awaited the drink that he had ordered for her. Thirst was clawing at her as well, and she suspected that some sand granules had gotten into her throat. Maybe a tankard of ale would sate her parched throat.

It was only until her drink came that she spoke, and she turned towards the male with a furrowed brow. "I'm not here without a reason," Jocelyn explained as she took a swig of her drink. Even though the liquid was lukewarm, it still calmed her frayed nerves. After another few moments of silence, she leaned towards him, but not casting a wary glance over her shoulder at the rest of the saloon's inhabitants. "The general of my legion says that there's rumors of an uprising around these parts. I was sent to investigate. But," she sighed again, louder this time as she rubbed her temple in frustration. "I don't even know where to begin. This place is grittier than I thought."

Jocelyn grumbled a curse to herself. She had probably already broken her cover by trying to arrest the guy. As she mentally kicked herself, she glanced over at the strange thing that he had in his possession. "What is that, anyway?" she asked, nodding towards the pistol.

"Oh?" Feriha mused. She had been approached in this way a few times before, however she never really understood the premise behind such actions, so she usually saw them as acts of charity or kindness. Sometimes the man offering would stop talking to her midway after noticing the scars on her skin, but to her, the scars were nothing but evidence of experience. Perhaps scars were undesirable when searching for mating prospects? Beasts were much simpler to fathom in that respect. They just mated with the strongest of their kind, not really caring much about appearance.

"I think.. I'll just have the same as you." She answered simply, giving the elf a small smile. She didn't know much about alcohol, as she never really drank much of it. According to what she's heard in taverns, drinks tend to vary in taste depending on where you went, which sounded quite similar to food. The tamer wondered if this man would also lose interest in her since she had visible scars along her arms, not that she cared very much.

@Rekaigan
It was a thrill to have heard her intrigued reply. Not that he hadn't spent his gold buying girls drinks before-- it was a matter of how much money had he spent on it. His mind silently sighed-- telling him that he'll regret it one day. It certainly wasn't within the next 100 years. His eyelids narrowed. At the girl? No, rather to the side atop of the bar's flat wooden table to another glass of drink someone had left. "I think.. I'll just have the same as you." The voice scoped his eyes back at her and glanced at her plain smile; which he returned reflexively.

"Two of your cold ales then!" He told the bartender. She nods and leaves the two for the few moment she needs to serve. "You seem distressed at something." His eyes seem to have never left the girl-- curious about her. Her posture as she sat gave him the opportunity to glance at her features. He noticed the scars around her body, ones denoting of many struggles. Its crude yet define arches along her skin was easily as a result of wrestling with a beast. Great or small. "Some man did that to you?" He jested with a grin. "No, of course not." He indicated towards the left side of his cheek-- a diagonal scar of a claw of some kind. You'd also would notice another scar-- almost impossible to see from the distance the girl had sat, but visible if she drew closer. His right cheek had a slender, long horizontal cut of unknown origin. Almost as though it was the tip of a sword that had cut him. "These get pretty common when you fight with beasts." The bartender had returned with two cold ales, serving one to the girl first and after Airdan.

"Shall we toast for your health? Miss..." He trailed on, indicating for her name. As soon as she responded, he'd too would give his name; "Airdan." The glass would meet and he downs a few gulps of the refreshing drink and planted the glass on the wooden table with a grin. The majority of the saloon had calmed down. Music had resumed playing and chatter had returned from the silent atmosphere. "I don't see many girls in your field. Maybe you're a special case? Now; I don't mean offense. I'm just asking what got you into what you do." He continued to patrol his eyes at her.
