@Wernher There will obviously be people who stand with him, but the general public won't support him and portray him as a traitor. I am sure he could get a small amount of support from some of the lower class military staff, and obviously a lot from xenos.
As for Konev, most of the Admirals who want his rank would hate his guts for being in a high position even thought he likes xenos, and the other Grand Admirals would look down on him.

@Sophrus Looks good, so put 'er into the CS tab. The one thing you should explain to me is the anti-matter weapons. They don't exactly fit into the "no doomsday weapon" part. How do they work, so I know uf they are just an OP gun or something more destructive.

@6slyboy6 Id forgive antimatter if its missiles under the excuse that 1, it needs to reach the enemy fleet and 2, if the ship is destroyed while in the middle of its own fleet, cue extreme damages to your own forces.

Am thinkin, antimatter is a crazy powerful explosive that needs to come from somewhere. The issue is not necesaarely the weapon, but the fact that these guys can mass produce such a valuable material without effort.

@6slyboy6
this is a weapon in EVE online, this is their description:

Particle blasters operate on a similar principle as the railgun except they fire a magnetically contained ball of subatomic particles. No other turret class can match the sheer destructive power of particle blasters, but due to the rapid dispersion of the containment field, it also has the worst range of all turrets.

As for its actual damage and such I was just going to work on the assumption that it was essentially a very short range nuke that arrived at its target almost instantly. But not so powerful that a frigate with a few antimatter shells would take down a capital ship, although several frigates and some lucky shots could cripple a capital.

And I never said how difficult the material was to get. Although given our level of technology antimatter probably would not be all that difficult to mass produce.

That said, it could be difficult and my ships only have a few antimatter shots each. Or it's not that difficult and they have a few more... it's an "oh shit" weapon not standard issue for all ships.

Working on an NS. It's interesting to work out the Commonwealth as an oppressed subject. A hassle to remove all references to shields though >.<

Forgot to ask, are their psionics in this?

@Sophrus I was just thinking in my head: "How does an energy shield and an antimatter particle blaster relate to each other in a technological advancement way". In the end I have no answer, but if I had to decide between energy shields being more advanced or antimatter explosives, then I would say antimatter. Which is funny because I tried to set the tech level to a very basic space tech, so no shields and tachyon beam weapons.

Now, antimatter would be hard to get in any way. Antimatter, in its core, is not only nothing, but in fact the opposite of existing matter, even thought it is still a visible and experiancable object. I don't think more needs to be said why it would be hard to make. Anyways, I rarely use antimatter, and EVE has plenty of shields, so lets abandon this concept. On the other hand I know just the wepaon which is readely avaible, incredibly destructive, and has pretty much the same effect. Meet le "neutronium rail accelerator". You should thank @NecroKnight for this, cause without him I would never even have thought this as a legit practice to be used in a space RP. Its basically a substance amde entirely of neutrons, and it would EXPLOSIVE. It is literally a nuke compressed into the space of a sand grain. It's not some fancy thing like antimatter, but I can imagine that this is MUCH easier to make than antimatter on a large scale. And it is an excellent kamikaze weapon if you have a shitton of them.

Alternatively, you could write ma a paragraph or two about how your species extracts antimatter, but I don't think would be an easy feat. So even if its just the name, for the sake of potential uses, I would prefer if you used neutronium as an explosive warhead.

@Ozerath I figured that shields would be a biggie for your race especially. I remember your post about your general looking out the flagship's bridge and seeing the massive flak fire bounce off the shields. But please make due with alternate ways to tackle this problem for now. (Or you could always ask the Mekhar Independance for their shield tecs, but I doubt that would work out too well.)

And yes, absolutely. Psionics will be something the Empire utilizes as well, so feel free to incorporate that into your design.

WIP but look at what my race is going to be. A mix of the Adeptus Astartes, Sith and a bit of the Spartans.

ok, ah, i never said anything about shields, even though shields do exist in eve i was leaving them out.. but if its a no on the antimatter that's fine. regular nukes or the neutronium thing are viable options, although the neutronium seems to be at least as powerful as antimatter if not more so, due to firing sand sized nukes rather than converting the mass of the enemy ship into pure explosive power. kinda the same danger level IMO

Yes, they look badass. I am more curious on - if they should be a planet-based or fleet-based military order.

Would the Empier allow them to be fleet-based? Or would it be dis-allowed?

@Sophrus Yeah, but antimatter is also a power source, basis of advanced warp technologies and cna be used to created buffed shields.

Neutronium just kinda, yknow, explodes.

@NecroKnight

Well, you said they live on that planet of yours. So I am guessing that they are the appointed rulers of the planet "Icarus". If you want to switch a resource rich, and hard to invade planet to a fleet of tin cans with oxygen in them, then you are free to do so, but know that fleets need to refuel somewhere, which is kinda hard if the whole Empire is trying to shoot you down for high treason.

Not really. The basic story is - the Icarus they 'originated' from was in the Milky Way. And the planet' name is simply a coincidence - but the Order thinks its a sign.

I can give you a quick run down of their history - if I left something vague.

Kamikaze drones it is, 10 drones with 2-3 grains of neutronium each mag lock themselves around a capital ship and cut it to ribbons. total cost 10 drones and 20-30 grains of boom sand.

and ill sub the blasters with idk, chain guns or something.

@NecroKnight oh okay, must've read the whole thing about their history wrong then.

Just a question, by Immortal Emperor do you mean the emperor of the Emporioum of Man, or someone back from the Milky Way who is unknown.

Btw @Sophrus you can put the NS of yours ino teh CS tab already, so you can find it more easely. Same goes for you Necro
