The drone of the cicadas cry reverberated through the pillared confines of the forest like a strange wordless song. Even in the darkness of the moonless night the life that teemed inside the woods was apparent from the noise alone. Only fireflies could be seen glowing briefly in the black spaces between the trees, appearing and disappearing like wandering spirits. They were the only other source of light besides the aging candescent bulb hanging just outside the door.

A swine shaped incense burner sat by the entrance to the small home, the coil inside of it smoking and filling the air with an almost meditative scent. Despite the tranquil and noticeably mosquito free air a young girl sat in the doorway of the home wore a weary face. Her legs were crossed and her hands coiled around the string of a yo-yo, which she continuously unfurled and re-rolled. Somewhere behind her steam rose from a rice cooker and the blunt tapping of steel against wood occasionally clashed against the noises of the forest funneling through the open sliding door.

"Mama, please-"

Brown's hands cupped her yo-yo as she stared back into the kitchen where a women manned a stove. Red bento boxes were piled up on the counter beside her and steadily growing as she worked. Two distinctly vulpes ears stuck up out of the golden swath of hair rolling down her back, twitching merrily as she moved.

"No. No more complaints. I said I was going to pack you lunches for your trip and you were grinning like a cat. It's not my fault you assumed I was just going to hand you a single meal for a six day trip, to say nothing of the return trip. Like I would ever let you go hungry like that~♪"

The women's right arm did most of the work, swirling the contents of several pans, chopping ingredients, and neatly setting them out to be put into their respective lunch boxes while her other sleeve hung emptily from her shoulder.

"But if I'm late then I won't be able to enter. I'll have to wait another four years before they hold another event in Rio."

Brown's grip on the small, dark wooded yo-yo grew tighter while her mother simply shook her head.

"The tournament doesn't start for a week and it's not like the Rio tournament is the only major event going on this year. Waiting a day for me to pack you some actual food isn't going to kill you. If that was the case you'd have dropped dead the day you left here to become a nomad."

The kitsune women turned and grinned back at Brown, her brilliant bullion colored eyes shining with a happy radiance. Yet Brown couldn't return the smile and quickly broke eye contact, turning her gaze back to the darkness outside.

Her mother stopped, wincing slightly at what she saw.

"Brown...is something wrong?"

Setting down her knife and clicking off the stove Brown's mother stepped from the kitchen. She strolled across their minuscule living room and knelt behind her, resting her palm on the top of her daughter's head.

"It's nothing I'm just worried about-"

"Brown."

Her mother's voice grew firm, empty of any anger.

"You shouldn't hide your feelings. You don't need to do that with me. You know that."

"Mama..."

Brown's head turned back, her eyes wet and bloodshot.

“Do you think they’ll be there?”

Her mother said nothing.

Leaning forward she wrapped her arm around Brown's waist and her daughter followed suit, coiling her arms around her mother's midsection while burying her face in her shirt.

Brown tried to contain herself, hoping to muffle the sound of her sobs or simply stop all together. Yet as soon as she felt the warmth of her mother's embrace tears began to pour down her cheeks, across the dark bags beneath her eyes.

The kitsune sat there amidst the cries of the cicadas and her daughter. Eventually her face hardened and she too turned her gaze to the blackness outside.

"It doesn't matter if they're there or not because you'll be there. You'll be there to show them, to show everyone that they're wrong. That I know for certain."

"I'm not late.I'm not late.I'm not late.I'm not late.I'm not late.I'm not late.I'm not late.I'm not late.I'm not late.I'm not late.I'm not late.I'm not late.I'm not late.I'm not late.I'm not late.I'm not late.I'm not late.I'm not late.I'm not late.

Brown's mouth seemed to move as fast as her legs did, the bottoms of her leather boots cracking loud against the pavement beneath her feet. She ran through the crowded streets leaving a wake of groans, shouts, and foreign slurs as people in front of her were knocked aside in her made charge forward. The stranger sounds and even stranger sights of the city around her seemed to go by in a blur as her vision narrowed and her senses sharpened.

Even through the disorienting buzz of the urban environment Brown could still distinctly hear the deafening roar of a bloodthirsty crowd in the distance. Her heart began to race and her speed skyrocketed, her arms swinging like pendulums as the stadium came into view. Slamming her feet down Brown slid across the ground like a an out of control car, throwing up dusts and stray rocks.

Brown came within a foot of crashing when her momentum broke and she came to a gentle stop directly in front of one of the sign up booths.

"I'm *gasp* Brown *gasp* Kasshoku and *gasp* I'm here to *gasp* register for the tournament."

Even through a crushing lack of breath Brown spoke with an audible excitement that left her whole body twitching. The booth runner, a dark skinned women with dreads behind a foot of chicken wire glass, smiled back at Brown.

"Sorry. You missed your chance!"

Brown froze, her eyes locking with the women behind the glass.

"What?"

"Final sign ups closed an hour or so ago and the preliminary rounds are essentially over. There's no way you can join the tournament."

The smile on Brown's face withered and her bouncing energy vanished. Her eyes were left wide and her hands clung to the counter of the booth, her grip leaving visible marks in the wood as it tightened.

"B-but I got here as soon as I could! My boat sank and then there were pirates, and a bunch of sharks, and a really weird Mexican man in a mask who started throwing sharks at the pirates-"

"That's nice. Well I'm on break now. Bye!"

A sliding steel shutter dropped down across the front of the booth with an uncaring slam. Brown was left staring at scratched steel plating as inside the stadium, just a few dozen feet away, she could hear the crowd begin to work itself up for the next fight.

Arms dropping to her sides Brown turned and walked aimlessly around the perimeter of the stadium. Her head hung and her eyes seemed empty. As soon as she found a bench Brown dropped into it and pulled the cord underneath her battered jacket, releasing the bento boxes from her back. Setting the stack beside her Brown grabbed a box from the top of the stack and popped it open.

Uramaki inside out sushi rolls, steak teriyaki, and hotdogs cut to look like little squids with smiling faces stared back up from the box at Brown mockingly. A sticky note on the top of the box read "DO YOUR BEST~" with a tiny fox face beside it sucked away any appetite Brown might have had.

"I was late. I didn't even lose. I didn't even get a chance to compete. If I'd come just a few hours earlier then-"

Brown grit her teeth and fought back the urge to scream.

Taking a deep breath she closed her eyes.

"This isn't the end. It's just like mama said, there will be more tournaments to fight in. I should take the time to see who's competing and enjoy myself. Just because I can't compete doesn't mean I can't watch the fights. Getting inside without paying for entrance can't be that difficult."

Brown exhaled and grasped the bento box in her lap with renewed resolve. Even as she reassured herself everything was fine, the happy faces of the people around her made it difficult to feel good.

Fans riled up for the tournament.

Food vendors making a killing on the crowd.

Even the bag touting people sticking fat bricks of wire laden play-dough against the sides of the stadium seemed happy.

Brown sighed and went back to her food...

As soon as the eyes of the thugs surrounding her turned Brown moved, kicking off the ground and spinning into the air with an outstretched leg.

"Āmīrippā!" She howled as her foot crashed through the jaws of the seven thugs closest to her, teeth flying from their mouths like shattered red and white Christmas ornaments. The hardened criminals crashed to the ground, their shrill cries and shrikes of agony muffled by the blood and teeth fragments that had quickly clogged up their windpipes. Heads snapped back to Brown and then back to the lava-fisted girl, the previously confident faces of the thugs straining from the frightening opposition placed against them.

The Linebacker built leader of the group's eyes went wide at the magma fisted girl and quickly turned as Brown' landed.

"I ain't gonna' let no fucking weak as bitch mak' a fo' a me!" The Linebacker slurred and charged forward towards Brown. His feet pumped and her threw himself forward, swining a thicked muscle ridden arm down at the little girl in front of her. He grit his teeth, expecting to feel the sweet satisfying impact of his knuckles against tender flesh be he caught dead air and stumbled foward.

He spun around to see Brown stepping back into position where she'd been originally, having sidestepped his swing like she was passing someone in the hallway. Despite the almost casual movement she'd made the girl's face was hardened, her eyes wide and her lips twisted downward.

"Did you just say...that I'm weak?" Brown asked her voice becoming quiet as the Linerbacker spat and raised his fist.

"Once weak always weak! Now I'm gonna put you where you be-

"Sukaisendā!"

A deafening crack drowned out the thug's words as Brown kicked off the ground and swung upwards. Her knuckles collided with the Linebacker's face and his feet were lifted off the ground, his nose collapsing back into his skull with a meaty squelch as he launched skywards. The man soared into the air and arced at the ten foot mark before plummeting back to earth. Brown landed seconds before the Linebacker did, his body crashing in a broken heap just outside the 'circle' of thugs.

He was unmoving and not a sound left his body as blood poured from the hole where his nose had been punched back into his brain.

Morning of the Second Day

Location

Grant City --> Platform City --> The Barrel Roll

Tag: Holywarrior (NPCs) RokkuHoshi (Steve)

ONE DAY PRIOR
Burgeoning overcast skies hung over Grant City like a filthy woolen carpet. The warm radiance of the sun, taken for granted by so many, was replaced with a grim light filtered down through the brewing storm above them all. Whatever color the city had to show, whatever it had left, was lost in the bleak grey hues cast upon it's glassy towers and dark asphalt roads. Morning had arrived and with it rain began to fall, robbing the air of what little warmth the dim light provided.

On the sidewalks the breath of traveling people became as visible as the exhaust spewing from the backs of passing cars on the road beside them. They moved, packed together much like the cars were, legs falling like pistons with their eyes locked straight ahead as they made their way to work, or their homes, or simply walked because they had nothing else to do. Looking down through the dirty windows of his apartment Jack Slate had trouble telling which were supposed to be the machines.

"Would it kill someone if there was a nice, sunny day in Grant City for once?" Jack muttered as he sat upright in bed, staring outside with half opened eyed still draped in sheets.

"Oh who am I kidding. Of course it would kill someone, everything in Grant City seems to end up with someone dead."

Exhaling deeply Jack slid his feet out of bed and stood, stretching his arms towards the ceiling and arching his back. After producing enough pops to sound like a bowl of breakfast cereal he lumbered over to his dresser and began pulling on clothes. Pants, shirt, boots, holster, the daily routine immediately began to take over.

It wasn’t long before he staggered into the kitchen just several feet from his bed and blindly reached for the coffee pot. Pulling it to his face, expecting to find it full of the warm, dark liquid he’d come to rely on, Jack flipped the lid and tilting his head back as he began to drink straight from the pot.

Cold. Thick. Bitter. Tasting slightly of gristle.

Did coffee normally taste like that?

"Yes." His brain responded sluggishly, firing at half capacity in the groggy morning hours.

Feeling everything was fine Jack's throat swelled as he sucked down gulp after gulp of the black fluid. Once it was gone he deposited the coffee pot on the dining room table just like the responsible adult he was. Was that responsible? He wasn't sure. He wasn't even sure if he cared.

Wiping his mouth on his arm Jack grabbed his jacket off the coat rack next to the fridge, G.C.P.D emblazoned across the back in faded white lettering, and continued walking forward with little thought. He'd reached the door when he stop and as if on auto pilot reached for his badge next to the do-

It wasn’t there.

Jack froze, arm outstretched, and remained there for several seconds.

“Oh right. Probation.” Jack blinked, shaking his head slightly as it all came rushing back to him.

The incident, the shouting match with his superior, the six month probation that he was barely a month into and already losing all lucidity. All of it became clear and as he turned around Jack remembered he had no reason to get out of bed. Hell he didn't even have a reason to leave the house.

"I have no badge. No duties. No responsibilities. Nothing to do and no one who needs me."

Walking back towards the living room the faint creaking of the cheaply varnished floorboards beneath his boots made his apartment seem worrying quiet, even as rain pattered against the window and the noises of the city found their way through the walls. Sitting down on the foot of his bed he reached down to his though and undid the buckle of his holster.

Feeling cold steel and plastic beneath his palm Jack pulled his pistol out and held it in front of his face, finger on the trigger.

They had taken his badge...but they hadn’t taken his gun.

"Are they trying to tell me something?" He thought and began to pull the hammer of the gun back when a noise erupted from the pile of laundry beside him.

"GRRRRRRRRRR" A black and white muzzle rose out of the pile of clothes. Lips curled back and razor white teeth shown, as icy blue eyes dilated in bestial aggression.

"Shadow? What is it boy? Don't tell me now of all days is when you decide to start growling at cars." Jack slowly released the cock of the gun and frown at his monster of a dog as it walked over to the nearby window, continuing to growl.

Tink tink.

The gentle tap of something hard against glass registered in Jack's ears. Turning his head he looked to see the silhouette of something outside the window. The grime prevented him from seeing just exactly what it was so he stood up, raising his pistol.

"Who's there?" He demanded.

Tink tink.

Breathing uneasily Jack wondered if it was a some thug with a grudge on his fire escape...when he realized he didn't have a fire escape. He was on the fifth floor. There was no way someone could be outside his window.

Gun still pointed at the window Jack slowly approached and with one hand, lifted it up. Opening the window to see...a cloud. A smiling cloud hovering outside his window.

Lowering his gun Jack just stared as the cloud moved forward, deposited a letter into his hand, and floated off. Rising up into the rainy day like it was no big deal.

"What...what...what?" Jack just stammered and stared, blinking and shaking his head. Convinced he was either sleeping or had simply snapped. Looking down at the letter, he broke the seal and began to read through it.

Mugen virus.
Call for heroes.
Countless people in danger.
Yes or No?

Jack looked down at the letter. Not sure what to believe or even why the letter would come to him in the first place. He wasn't a hero, he could barely give a parking ticket without it erupting into some kind of hellish gunfight.

Yet the letter made it clear things were bad and were only going to get worse.

"Ah hell. Even if I have gone crazy it'll give me something to do to pass five months. Come on Shadow, we're going on a trip."

"Gruff Aroff!" Shadow yelped as Jack pressed YES on the letter...

Jack had arrived in Platform City a day ago. Due to a combination of getting lost and overwhelmed by the strange place he found himself in, he had missed the call for the first mission. In that time someone had died and word of a funeral procession passed by his ear.

Having stuck close to Tetris Castle for the day he'd been in Platform City, Jack quickly made himself scarce and left the grounds entirely. He didn't know who had died, but he knew that he'd been to enough funerals in his life and didn't intent to attend anymore.

As he walked aimlessly through the streets of the strange, color city Shadow padded closely behind him. Whining softly as if sensing the sudden darkening of his mood.

Having no idea where he was going Jack kept turning corners until he saw a place that looked like it sold booze. Pushing open the thick wooden door he was greeted with a bar that didn't immediately smell like despair and cheap whiskey.

Roaring fireplace, casks of (what he assumed was) ale stacked up behind the bar, and the stone and wood construction made the place look old or at least old styled. Not that it bothered jack. Finding a place to drink that was well lit and didn't have fresh blood and vomit stains on the floor was a strangely refreshing event.

Quickly stepping inside, letting Shadow in before closing the door behind him, Jack made his way to the bar and took a seat on the stool farthest from the door. Reaching into his wallet he pulled out a handful of bills and placed them on the counter.

"Do you except foreign currency here? If you do I'd like several glasses of your strongest stuff." Jack said to the bartender as Shadow hopped onto the stool next to him and began licking the bar top.

Just a few stools away from where he was sitting Jack hear a voice asking the bartender questions. The subject of money was brought up and immediately sympathized with the questioner.

"What even is the currency around her-"

Jack turned his head and stopped dead as he saw what he could only recognize as a blocky man (Steve). Unable to take his eyes off what he considered a strange sight Jack continued to stare across the bar at the block-man...

Morning of the Second Day

Location

The Barrel Roll

Tag and Mention: @Holy Soldier (NPCs), @RokkuHoshi (Minecraft Steve), @DracoLunaris (Taric)

"Gold? Well shit, I'm glad I didn't try to exchange my money back at the castle then. I'd feel worse about my paycheck then I already do."

Grabbing the wad of paper bills he'd dropped on the bar top, Jack shoved them back into his wallet with a defeated sigh. He turned his head to look to the stranger who'd answered his question and was taken aback. While the square bodied miner just a few seats away was still the strangest thing Jack had seen since waking up, the individual who'd strolled into the bar was the second strangest thing by just a small margin.

With open shirt, hair like a bolt of brown silk, and large gems casually orbiting him, the man looked like a jewelry display had come to life and spent it's days alternating between pumping iron at the gym and going to a fashion salon. Jack was by no means a slouch when it came to physical fitness. Boxing, lifting weights, and simply fist fighting had left his arms and chest muscles as toned as they were going to get.

Yet seeing Taric's smooth washboard stomach and almost herculean physique on display through his somewhat foppish attire left Jack feeling somewhat insecure. Just as Jack began to wonder if his own clothes left him over or somehow overdressed for the occasion the gem man's words derailed his train of thought.

"If you're offering to pay for food and drinks, then I'll join you for breakfast seeing as it's obvious I'm quite broke in this world. The least I can do is tell you my name and why I'm here, but it's not exactly a colorful story."

Standing up from his bar stool Jack walked down the line and took a seat closer to Steve and Taric with Shadow padding up behind him, taking the stool beside him like he had when they arrived.

"My name's Jack. Jack Slate. Officer, or former officer, of the Grant Central Police Department. This here is Shadow."

Jack jerked his thumb over his shoulder to the hulking black and white dog next to him. Shadow's tongue hung out of his black lips as he panted, occasionally licking the rows of sword sharp blood stained teeth that filled his mouth. The mention of his name drew his icy-blue eyes to his master, then to Taric, and briefly to Steve. For a moment Shadow almost seemed to pause in thought on the presence of the strangers before lifting his leg and craning his neck downwards to begin licking his groin.

"As for why I'm here in Platform City, well I got a letter. A letter from...a cloud. A cloud with a smiling face that showed up outside my apartment window. The letter it dropped off said something about a Mugen Virus, people in need, and a call for heroes. I'm not hero but I circled yes on the letter and ended up here."

Jack shook his head, smiling as he spoke.

"Honestly when I say it out loud it's crazy. Yet here I am! I spent the day up at Tetris Castle. Heard they were having a funeral so I split and wandered in here to drink. What about you two?"

Looking to the blocky miner Jack grimaced at the mention of an arena. His mind immediately went to the arenas he was familiar with. Illegal dens of deceit and blood sports where men would die and others would profit from their blood. However he stopped himself from making any assumptions. Given his company the 'arena' could have been anything.

"I'm afraid I haven't heard anything about an arena myself, but if you're looking for wood and leather try finding an old sofa. Even in a city like this someone's bound to throw their old furniture into an alleyway or out onto the curb."

With her belly full of the delicious contents of one of her mother’s bento boxes Brown quietly hummed to herself as she walked forward. She gently sucked on the end of the thin bendy straw protruding from the top of the juice box Brenda had gotten for her like she promised. The pleasant mango flavored juice was sweet and tangy in her mouth, washing away the last traces of spicy seasoned rice and savory beef strips she’d eaten.

“I may have missed the chance to fight in the tournament, but I still get to fight! Stopping these bad guys from blowing up the stadium with my new friends should be a lot of fun.”

Missing the tournament still weighed heavily on Brown’s mind, but the food in her stomach and the mission given to her made it easier to bare. Beating up criminals and stopping bombings wasn’t what she had in mind when she journeyed to Rio, but if it helped showed them what she was capable of then she’d do it without a second thought.

“They are my friends, right?” Brown paused briefly in thought.

The doctor man seemed nice, the rock fisted girl had given her a juice box, and the wolf-lady with all the guns vaguely reminded Brown of her mother. Best of all none of them had tried to kill her. At least she didn’t think they had. In Brown’s mind they were the closest thing she could really consider as ‘friends’.

Smiling Brown continued to walk and turned a corner, stopping dead in her tracks as she saw a crowd of gang members by one of the stadium entrances. Darting back behind the cover of the corner, Brown peaked her head out and carefully looked over the mob of badly dressed men and women as she continued to drink from her juice box.

It was difficult to tell from a distance if any of them had detonators (whatever they looked like) but she could see two attentive looking thugs holding walkie talkies. On reflex she balled her free hand into a tight knuckled fist and got ready to charge when she remembered what she’d been told.

“Oh. Right. Gotta be sneaky.” Brown muttered and pulled out her Yo-Yo.

Hiding around the corner Brown quietly waited and watched as one of the gang members began to wander away from the group. Cigarette between his lips the gang member leaned up against the wall just a few feet down from where Brown stood. As the thug began fussing with his lighter Brown drained her juice box and crushed it in her hand. Tossing it underhand through the air it landed with a dull thud on the ground in front of the smoker.

Eyes flicking up from his shitty zippo lighter the thug turned his head and-

CRACK

The heavy wooden head of Brown’s yo-yo whipped through the air and slammed into the thug’s throat with a dull, meaty slap. In an instant the man’s airway was smacked close and he struggled for breath. Barely able to gasp for air, much less shout for help the man was unable to struggle as Brown rushed out from around the corner and wrapped her arms around him.

Feet dragging against the ground Brown quickly pulled the young man around the corner and out of sight just as the thugs in the distance began to look around. Safely out of their vision Brown pinned the thug up against the wall.

“Who has the detonators?” She demanded.
“HACKGARGLECOUGH” The man sputtered back, eyes rolling in their sockets as they tried to get their breath back.

“Oops. I forgot people needed air to talk.” Brown muttered, realizing her first attempt at interrogation was rather flawed...

"The only person who needs saving here is you Tinman. Shadow's just here to nibble on what's left of the competition when this is over and done with. Though I might need to break out something bigger then a can opener for you."

Jack rolled his scarred shoulders and bent his thick neck from side to side, producing a number of faint cracks as he stepped underneath the warm glow of the overhead arena lights. His dark grey blow-back handgun was already clutched firmly in his right hand and he pulled back on the slide as he moved. A familiar, threatening metallic click reached his ears as the well kept components snapped back into place and shoved a high caliber round into the chamber for firing. 8 rounds, one already in the chamber with plenty of clips to spare.

Shadow stayed by Jack's side as he moved. The large black and white dog remained slightly crouched, growling in a low feral tone as he bore his ivory teeth at their opponents across the fighting arena. The sharp scars turning upwards from the dog's black lips almost made it seem like it had some kind of unhinged grin as it readied itself to taste blood.

"A metal metal man. A boy and his dog. Vs me, my dog, and some strang guy in an orange suit of armor."

Jack's eyes narrowed as he looked over the metal man facing off against him. Just hearing his voice and seeing the strange stillness he possessed made it difficult for the cop to tell if he was a robot, some kind of cyborg, or just another spooky prick in a mechanical suit with really stupid looking dreadlocks sticking out the back. What wasn't difficult to tell was whether or not the man machine was dangerous. Appearances could be deceiving or incredibly forth coming. Just glancing at his opponent made it clear to Jack the enemy in front of him seemed better suited to the orange fellow he'd be paired up with. They both looked hi-tech and neither seemed totally human.

Behind the dreadlock sporting metal man Jack could see a young man and what he assumed was some kind of dog. The two were dressed in strange suits, but both possessed a military air to them.

“I’d really rather see who’s the better dog owner, but I guess I’m stuck fighting robo-dreadlocks here until I can get him to tag out.”

FIGHT!

As soon as the shout was given to begin Jack's arm up flew from his side. Left hand cupping his right to support and steady his aim Jack quickly leveled his pistol at Cyrax's right knee and pulled the trigger three times in rapid succession. A trio of deafening bangs rang out as hot gasses and metal left the chamber of the gun into the open air.

"Shadow, around!" Jack yelled over his shots and Shadow quickly sprang into action. Instead of blinding charging at the obviously dangerous man-thing Shadow kept his distance and attempted to circle around and position himself behind his target. Attacking from opposite directions was ideal for splitting an enemies attention. The canine's predator mindset understood the line of thought all too well.

It's less of a pond and more water beneath a bridge. However it's your only source of food and water at the moment. So best be kind and call it a pond unless you want to starve.

The Arowana Pond provides fresh water and a source of fish.

There are signs a proper river used to run between the buildings, but it was cordoned off leaving the remaining water in an a recession in the ground likely replenished by rain water. Vegetation and some form of fish known as an Arowana now live in the 'pond' though it's unlikely they lived there prior to The Event.

And in an instant it was all gone.

The fabric of reality buckled like a book case collapsing in on itself. Dimensions, entire planes of existence never meant to intertwine were crushed on top of one another until they began to crumble. Planets were pulled apart as the very laws that held them together, that allowed them to exist at all, ceased to function.

When "The Event" stopped all that remained were broken remnants. Pieces of the underwater city of Rapture, fragments of the alien invaded Reach, the Arklay Mountains near Raccoon city, and the bits and pieces of countless other worlds all drifting through the ethereal void of nonexistence. They were like islands with the people, places, and things on them perfectly preserved.

Unable to move, unable to think, unable to perceive what had happened or what would become of them.

All of existence could have ended there, but something began to happen.

Bit by bit the fragments began to bunch together. Entire chunks of once whole planets packed together with lands, locales, and buildings of various worlds piling on. Mass and particles were drawn together, forming a star and eventually a moon.

Light shined, gravity pulled, and time began to move forward as a new set of rules was formed from the remaining shreds of other realities.

As the sun rose over the new, patchwork world for the first time the people, creatures, and entities that had been carried along with the fragments awoke to found themselves displaced.

Citizens, soldiers, survivors, test subject, knights, were presented with a twisted world filled with wonder they had never dreamed off...and horrors they never could have imagined.

Undying monstrosities of pestilence, vicious cold hearted mercenaries, alien zealots, blood thirsty robots, and deformed genetic drug abusers were just a fraction of what they found themselves contending against.

So people ran, wandering and desperately trying to survive. In the new world there was no law, no established rule, no one to keep them safe but themselves. Yet they continued to move, over rolling hills, across vast stretches of water, and through landscapes they dared not put to word. They searched hoping to find a safe place, a sanctuary.

What they found was a place called 2Fort.

Mistaking it for some kind of town people began to settle down and tried to make it into somewhere they could live.

This is where our story begins.

You get all that?

Long story short, this is a role play that revolves around the mass crossover of various video games into a single world. It focuses on an original plot of survival, struggle, and adaption to the bizarre patchwork world they're all stuck living on.

The roleplay will put emphasis on randomized loot and building up the 'town' of 2Fort.

Starting off the 'town' will have very little to offer and will be vulnerable to attack from countless horrific enemies. The town of 2Fort will grow and prosper, or wither and die at the actions of you and your characters.

Player characters that can't simply find food, ammo, armor, weapons, and items whenever it's convenient for them. Instead a large loot table made up of things from the countless video games involved will be used to determine what you find.

Now you're probably asking what series are involved in the roleplay.

Here's a list of games I chose as a base to start from. However more games can be added at player request. If you wanted to play a character from Metroid, or Final Fantasy, or simply felt having elements of a game in the RP would add to things then that game could be added. The Items, enemies, and various elements/locals from that game would be incorporated into the lists/tables I have.

However there are some rules regarding what games can and cannot be allowed into the roleplay:

#1: The video game can't be spun off of an existing piece of media. So nothing tied to anime, comic books, novels, or film. If I didn't have this rule it'd be total chaos even if it would give me an excuse to ruse RWBY Grimm Eclipse.

#2: The game needs to be reasonable for the setting of the role play as a whole. A game where characters can casually blow up planets would not work here for example.

#3: The game needs to be suggested for the right reasons. I don't want people trying to powerplay or metagame. If you want to stroke your ego and game the system to be the strongest, then don't bother joining this rolplay. This is meant to be about the adventure and the narrative we craft, the excitement of adventure and the struggles of making do with what we can scrounge up.

And that's pretty much it. Here is the list of games the roleplay starts off made up of:
-----------------

----------------

Note: I'm allowing Original Characters from established game universes to be apped alongside canon characters, but please don't abuse my leniency here.

Current Population: 20 People
Current Resources: [Fresh Water], [Fish], [Weak Electrical Power]
Population Mood: "Feeling Safe!"
EVENTS: None at this time.

Two nearly identical buildings, one blue another red, stand separated by a pond and connected by a battered roofed bridge running over it. Made of wood, corrugated sheet metal, and the occasional length of chicken wire they give off an agricultural feel. The hay, empty grain silos, and barn style doors seem to suggest this is fact.

However the lingerings stink of gunpowder betrays the true nature of the opposing forts.

Beneath the surfaces of both forts are clean and sleek facilities with offices, meeting rooms, rows of computer banks, and mission control rooms that once accurately displayed the state of the world from which it was from.

A road and a railroad track runs through 2Fort, though where they lead now is unclearly…

Location:
2Fort- Waiting Room [RED building]

Mentions:
agentnumalol (Marston), Megsychan (El Presidente), Eventua (The Batter and Abe), DracoLunaris (Lily and Julian)

"Normally I'd prefer 'never' then late, but beggars can't be choosers when the world ends and the dead walk."

The former ruler of Pandora's eyes narrowed into hawkish slits. He raised his brow, taking in the sharply dressed mustachioed dictator as he entered his office just as everyone else began to leave. Handsome Jack had been in the man's presence for only a few moments, heard just a few handfuls of words, yet he knew almost immediately the type of man that was before him.

He probably didn't use the word 'dictator', after all why would anyone want to call themselves something nasty? At the end of the day it just boiled down to different names for the same thing. CEO, chairman, chieftain, king, duke, head girl scout, president. However one argued the differences they were all just titles for people who were in charge, liked being in charge, and typically intended to stay in charge for as long as they could manage.

In Jack's eyes the man before him wasn't any different. He smelled of overpriced cigars, cheap cash crops, and even cheaper tourism. Something about how he dressed and spoke brought the image of a tropical island to Jack's mind. Not the good kind, with naked women, fruity drinks, and enough sunbathing chairs to build a small city. No the bad kind of tropical island out in the middle of nowhere with 3rd degree sunburns and natives who insisted where they lived was more then a dandruff flake on someone's map.

"If you want to help then by all means, follow the others topside and try to bring something useful back to town. You can help yourself to whatever you can find out there as long as you leave something for the town itself." Jack said in as neutral a tone as he could manage, gesturing towards the hall everyone had begun to leave down.

Jack knew that the moment the El Presidente got a chance to speak it's jeopardize his otherwise unchallenged position of mayor. After all of a fat huckster could monopolize the arms trade on Pandora there was no telling what the sunglasses wearing dough boy in front of him could accomplish...

As Jack waved for El Presidente to leave Quiet walked beside Marston with Cedar following behind her. The girl moved nervously, taking efforts to move in step with Quiet down to the pace of her footsteps and the rhyme her arms swung. Her attempt to copy the silent sniper didn't keep her mouth shut however as the cowboy's question registered in her ears.

"I'm Cedar Birch, M-Mr. Marston! North sounds like a g-good direction. I personally like south but that's only because south is more interesting to say."

Quiet merely nodded her question, giving a thumbs up to the cowboy before frowning. Marston's question regarding a proper firearm led Quiet to take stock of what she had. She tapped the butt of her sheathed CQC knife with a gloved hand, shaking her head in visible frustration at how under equipped everyone appeared to be. "I'm amazed that not a single person here managed to come with a gun. It's like the universe is intent on having us fight with our bare hands. Boss wouldn't have minded that too much, I can't say I feel the same way."

Quiet's thoughts pounded irritably in her head and she looked to Kerrigan as she walked, tracing the strange insectoid features of her 'ally's' body.

"Though that doesn't appear to be an issue for you. Your whole body seems like a weapon."

Hearing Abe's nasally, almost cold ridden voice Quiet looked down at the frog-ish creature that seemed to intentionally hang back hear her. Having to stare down at someon-er something felt oddly reassuring since she wasn't the shortest member of the group for a chance. The spike collared girl smiled at Abe and shook her head.

"I haven't see anything like you until just now. You do kind of remind me of a frog though. I had a pet frog once, but my pet cat Neko ended up eating him after I forgot to feed him. That's why I wasn't allowed to have more then one pet.I'm sure that won't happen to you though, chances are any cats big enough to eat us will probably eat the biggest people first. So you can me are safe." Cedar grinned and nodded her head in a self-assuring manner at her own flawed logic, before frowning as she realized she'd gotten off topic.

"I'll let you know if I see any though. As for food, uh, I think someone was giving out fish near the bridge."

Cedar's thoughts regarding the Arowana being handed out were halted as Lily's question hit her like a bag full of bricks. In an instant her smile faded and a wincing, painful recollection flashed across her face. The brief, blinding, searing moment of hear death in Racoon City hung in the back of her mind like a shirt she couldn't throw out yet always had smack dab in the middle of her closet.

"Um, uh..." Cedar hesitated but slowly rose her hand. "I died once. At least I think I did. There was a big flash, a loud noise, lots of heat, and then everything went dark. The fact everyone was turning into zombies and dying probably meant we got bombed."

The teen tried to speak clearly and simply, but her voice had a not so subtle shake to it as she recalled what she had gone through and the things she had seem crawling and shambling through the streets of Raccoon city.

"L-last year I can remember was 1998, can't remember the month though. I wasn't very good at keeping track of dates."

Quiet's irritable expression softened and she quickly glanced between Cedar and Lily, as if searching for some expression that would prove they were lying. 1998 and 2036 were both dates some ways into the future from the 1980's. Had she not been walking beside a cowboy, a talking robot, and something that looked like an alien Quiet may have been able to hold her skepticism.

Unable to spell it out Quiet simply held up her hands and flashed the numbers 1-9-8-4 when Lily was looking her way. Quiet then pointed to Marston as if asking "When are you from?"

Not to far from Handsome Jack's 'office' was a metal shutter located near the end of the stairwell leading down into the underground offices. As the rustic cowboy, automated death machine, and it'sMEATBAG rightful engineer overseer approached the shutter opened. Sliding up into the wall through either a weight device in the floor or a hidden motion detector. Stepping inside the trio would be greeted with a white tiled room with very little if any furnishings.

There was a cabinet, a bench, a towel rack, and a small row of cubicles resting up against the wall. A light layer of dust and other unpleasant particles lined many traces of the room. The rest of 2Fort seemed fine (if out of date by some people's standards), but the waiting room had an unwarranted feeling of disuse that hung in the air like a lead blanket.

Yet things had seemed to come with the dust itself. Tucked away in orders, left out on the floor, or even stuck up into the piping in the ceiling were strange items. The dust seemed to have been disturbed by a president-like man who searched the room moments ago, but plenty seems untouched...

El Presidente's Item Results

Tide Turner: The steering wheel of an old maritime vessel that's seen better days. Lashed onto the arm it's intended use is as a shield. While crude and seemingly ineffectual, the Tide Turner imbues the wearer with a strange sense of eagerness to rush into battle. When worn the wearer can use the Charge maneuver, granting a temporary but instant boost of speed, a boost to melee damage while moving that scales with distance to target, and the ability to shield bash even if untrained.

Even when unarmed charging into normal sized enemies will knock them back and stagger larger enemies. With a melee weapon in hand, even a simple one, charging can easily gore and gib otherwise formidable foes. The Charge maneuver can only be used periodically as it takes time to build up the charge to do it again.

[Semi-Protective Shield. Allows the wearer to perform charges. Charging can knock back enemies and will increase melee damage. Long cool down between uses, limited charging. Not a very good shield given it's a bloody steering wheel.]

EXALT Flag: Made of tattered red clothe and gold embroidering this flag has an unsettling air to it. It bears a strange, threatening symbol and the word EXALT is stitched intently below it. Whatever this flag belonged to it certainly wasn't a nation. Yet it seems like it could easily be raised like a proper flag...

[Misc item. Raising this flag above an areas will cause-???

Sap Plant (Monster Hunter): A small white furn with wide leaves and a fat stalk. It's difficult to hold without getting your hands messy and even harder to keep in your pocket. The plant oozes with a thick adhesive sap. Eating it would be like eating a tube of glue, but if used properly once could stick anything they wanted together.

[Crafting item. Non-edible. A simple medium strength adhesive.]

MARSTON'S ITEM RESULTS

Styptic A medical agent in patch form used to stem the bleeding from cuts and lacerations. Apply it directly to a cut and the blood vessels of the affected area will immediately begin to contract, slowing or outright stopping the flow of blood from the wound.

[Single use consumable. Cures Bleed -Minor-]

Gift Box: A colorful box of fine sweets obviously intended as a gift for someone's sweetheart. Inside the cardboard packaging are a handful of high quality caramels wrapped in browned wax paper. While they might melt in your pockets if you're not careful, you don't have to worry about them spoiling anytime soon and all the sugar in them makes for a great pick me up.

[Single use food item. Limited Hunger satisfaction, high Stamina recovery]

Shotgun Ammo x6: A half empty carton of shotgun shells in a slick, high tech looking box. The box opens up like a carton of matches with the shells carefully laid upright inside. There's only six standard shells inside but they're in good condition and looks like they'll work with any equally working shotgun.

[Lethal Shot Ammunition. Usable in any Shotgun-type weapon]

INFERIOR ORGANICLILY AND JULIAN'S ITEM RESULTS

Red plate [Fallout New Vegas]: A red ceramic plate that looks exactly like something out of the 1950s. It's chipped and worn, almost like it survived a nuclear apocalypse or something. Doesn't seem like it has much use outside of eating off of. However the ceramic material is pretty sturdy and highly heat resistant. Cutting down the plate to use as a ceramic insert for a bullet proof vest wouldn't be hard and neither would breaking it into smaller insulators for something. Throwing it at someone's face or playing frisbee is also an equally appealing idea, for whatever reason.

[Misc crafting item. Heat resistant properties. Fragile, but able to block damage at cost of breaking.]

Covenant Special Operations Harness: A strange suit of armor with matching helmet obviously designed to be worn by something other than a human being. It’s alien in origin but it’s sure as hell not ADVENT. Even at a glance it’s obvious that whatever this is it’s more advanced than even the heavy hitting stuff ADVENT deployed.

The harness suit features a self-motivated recharging Energy Shield able to absorb damage from physical impacts, landings, explosions, and energy emissions. After receiving a certain amount of damage the shield will drop or ‘break’ leaving the wearer vulnerable. If they don’t take damage for a while the shield will recharge on it’s own, renewing it’s protection until broken again.

This particular harness allows the wearer to cloak. Allowing them to turn invisible through optical camouflage. However it only works when the shields are up, if the shields are not active or dropped then the cloaking function will not work.

In its current state the harness/armor is simply unusable by humans or any other race besides the one it was designed after. With the proper tools and some materials it could be resized.

However it’d be much easier to gut the cloaking and shielding system and put them on something else. Either another piece of armor, a machine, or a robot...

[Highly Advanced Armor. Currently unusable by humans. Low-strength Recharging Energy Shield and Cloaking Device salvageable. Info identified from the pretense of an Engineer and Robot.]

Cup of Lifenoodles [Mother]: A cup of proper noodles with spices, vegetables, and other unrecognizable but unusually appetizing ingredients. Kept in a small plastic bowl with plastic wrap over the top the noodles appear to be perfectly fine. It's difficult to tell when they were cooked but they appear to be fresh.

Julian-Sensors show nothing out of the ordinary and visually it looks as appealing as all the banal organic nutrients humans shovel into their head orifices.

Lily-Lifting the edge of the plastic wrap off the bowl, every hair on your body stands on end and you feel a rush of energy as you simply sniff the noodles. Without taking a bite you know that this isn't simply a bowl of noodles. Whatever this stuff is it has some amazing rejuvenating properties properties. If you ate it you're sure your ills would go away, hell it'd probably wake you up from unconsciousness even!

[Single use food item. Maximum Hunger satisfaction, Maximum Stamina recovery. Cures all regular status ailments and can revive incapacitated organic teammates if force fed to them. ]

Cedar and Quiet's Item Results

Cedar

Fine Pistol (Ambassador): A large barreled 6-shot revolver chambered for high caliber handgun rounds. This particular gun appears to be heavily customized with a large barrel, meticulously engraved on both sides with the visage of what appears to be a reclining women in a dress. Chromed with a rosewood grip it’s hardly the weapon of an overly practical military man.

While it’s engravings give it no tactical advantage, the revolver itself has been perfectly sighted. It can nail precision shots, especially those to the head, extremely well.

However due to the finer nature of the firing mechanism and the hammer, the revolver’s rate of fire is slower then one might effect. The heavy barrel makes the gun difficult to aim if fired in rapid succession. Accuracy is maintained by well placed shots in appropriately timed succession. Shots fired in rapid succession will have greatly reduced accuracy and increased spread, while shots fired calmly and slowly will have near pin point accuracy.

[6-round chamber. Uses lethal Revolver and High Caliber Handgun Ammunition. *Increased damage to heads. Guaranteed critical damage on headshot. *Reduced damage to any other part of the target. *Reduced firing speed, shots made in rapid succession suffer greatly decreased accuracy. 1/6 bullets currently loaded]

Pentazemin: Five pills in plastic bubble tabs. An anxiety medication in tablet form. When ingested Pentazemin has potent psychotropic and muscle relaxant effects. It's packaging states it's meant for use in treating depression, O.C.D, and high degrees of anxiety. The drug also helps suppress convulsions, leaving the user's hands incredibly steady even in heated situations. Taking the drug is a perfect way to eliminate hand shaking, allowing for more accurate shots using firearms. It's marked as being highly addictive however...

[Five use consumable. Cures stress and shaking related ailments. Taking it ensures steady hands and more accurate attacks with firearms and other ranged weapons for a few posts. Highly addictive and habit forming. A 1d6 will be rolled if used more then once a day by a character. If the number is 5 or above the use gains the 'Addiction: Pentazemin' Flaw. For every use past afterwards an additional 1d6 will be added to the roll. 5/5 uses left.]

Quiet

Mega Potion (Monster Hunter): A crude tonic kept in a corked jar. It's aroma is potent, smelling of strange herbs and lots of honey. While archaic in nature this 'Mega Potion' is still a proper medicinal remedy. By drinking the potion it will trigger the rapid, almost instantaneous recovery of injuries. It's by no means a cure all, but it is great for dangerous battles and hunts.

[Single use consumable. Instantly eliminates Large to Severe injuries from user, but is not a full heal. Cannot be drank if someone has a full stomach, is nauseous, or doesn't have a digestive system.]

Ballistic Shield: A small, lightweight buckler style arm shield made of a bullet resistant glass/plastic material. While the protective coverage it offers is limited the shield is light enough that it doesn't effect mobility and doesn't make stealth or sneaking difficult. The shield can easily be used alongside one handed weapons, pistols, sub-machine guns, est.

[Protective Shield. Protective against ballistics and impacts. Limited coverage. Will wear down and break quickly under sustained attack. Difficult to repair.]

"There's no clouds in my sky!"

Character you have created: Garfield Ubally Miller Ballsworth
Alias: Gum
Speech Color: 48D1CC
Character Alignment: Walking the Line
Identity: Known
Character Personality: Gum is an imaginative, adventurous, boastful young boy who is always getting into things he should and rarely, if ever, doing what he's supposed to do. Despite growing up in a harsh urban environment Gum is somewhat naive and incredibly optimistic. Easily believing or buying into anything he thinks is cool or exciting.

In spite of his gullibility, Gum himself is very perceptive and thanks to his mischievous nature, can be rather deceptive himself. He possesses a love of tricks and a quick wit that lends itself very well towards slight of hand maneuvers and clever distractions. The boy has a tendency to go too far or get way in over his head, often failing to read a room or a situation before acting.

While his mindset can often lead to him making foolish, short sighted decisions Gum is good natured at heart and has yet to really begin thinking about the hard truths of life.

Physical Appearance: Gum is a young boy standing 5,5 with light skin, a gaunt but athletic build, and cyan colored hair cut in a short, choppy fashion that you'd expect to see on a 7th grader. His eyes are an unusual maroon shade that's often mistaken for a very strange shade of brown purely on reflex by most people. His eye and hair color are the result of a violent mutation, so the cyan color also extends to the rest of Gum's body hair as well (not that he has any yet being 13).

Besides his unusual eye and hair color Gum also possesses a long noodley prehensile cat tail, retractable claws on his hands and feet, and an additional pair of feline ears sticking up out the top of his head. The claws in his hands and feet are in proper proportion to the rest of his body, they're made of ultra hard keratin and appear white. His ears and tail are covered in the same cyan colored hair that covers his head.

Costume:

Normal Attire- Gum's casual every day clothes consists of a beige sweater, a brown wool knit cap, a pair of baggy cargo pants with a belt, and a worn sneakers that look like they're about to fall apart. This choice of clothes is half necessity and half practicality as his family doesn't have a lot of money to spend on clothes and he needs to keep people from seeing his feline features. The cap hides his 'other' ears and his cargo pants gives plenty of room to stuff his tail away.

'Adventure Attire'- When Gum wants to go out and do something mischievous, he changes his clothes into something more comfortable. A long sleeved black shirt he found in the trash, a pair of worn jeans with their knees worn out, and a pair of boots that have been cut up and lashed around his feet to make them fit. Adorning his knees and elbows are athletic pads he found in the trash and a black strip of cloth has been tied around his head to hide his mouth and obscure his facial features to a point. In his attire his ears are out and his tail sticks out the back of his jeans.

Origin Info/Details:
Gum was born to Nicky and Richy Ballsworth. The two were a young couple who'd moved to Pacific Point to take advantage of the wealth of jobs and opportunity there. Nicky had just gotten her degree in bio chemistry and sought a job at one of the research labs in the city, all the while Richy wished to pursue a career in business and stock trading. For a time the two did very well and made enough money to live comfortably in a pretty nice apartment.

However in spite of their financial and career success, they had very little time to spend with their son Garfield, who was left with friends or at home all alone while they were at work. Even after they had a baby girl and had someone a home watching their kids regularly, it seemed like every time they turned their backs their son was getting into something. He had a habit of getting out of the house and getting into places he shouldn't, following around complete strangers like he was gum stuck to the bottom of their shoes.

It got to the point he began to call himself Gum and his parents wound up doing the same eventually out of habit. Then the economy took a nose dive. Nicky lost her job due to the mysterious shut down of the lab she worked at and Richy's stock predictions were thrown off and they lost a tremendous amount of money on the stock market. Richy fell into a deep depression, Nicky had to settle for working at a local chemical plant, and they had to move to a smaller apartment in a pretty bad neighborhood.

Despite making less money, Richy suffering from depression, and living in a crappy apartment, Gum was rather happy to have his parents around more often. Even though he didn't like how they began to scold and actively punish him for his stupid behavior, he did enjoy being able to come home after a horrible day at school and get a hug from his mom and dad.

After a particularly stupid stunt that involved make-shift fire crackers and one of his little sister's dolls, Gum was forced to help his mother volunteer at a local animal shelter. The place was run down and didn't get a lot of funding, worse yet some of the newer animals there had been injured by people effected by Doctor Diplodoc ludicrous scheme.

Doing what his mother asked Gum helped around the shelter as best he could before growing bored and wandering off to play with some of the animals. Gum's attempts to play with a particularly moody, beat up looking feline got him bitten and clawed up. The bite was surprisingly deep and shortly after returning home he began to grow ill. Before Nicky could take Gum to a hospital a vicious riot broke out on their street that kept them from leaving their home. During this time Gum grew increasingly ill, experiencing strange and sudden pains all over his body, vomiting and defecating uncontrollably, before gaining a frightening temperature and going temporarily blind.

By the time the riots had ended and they were able to take him to a hospital, Gum had physically changed. His hair had turned a strange blue color, his eyes were a dark maroon, and he'd grown claws, a tail, and another set of ears. Fearful of having her killed by radicals, Nicky didn't take him to the hospital and had Gum hide his new features. Calling in a few favors, Nicky managed to run some tests and found out her son had been infected with a wildly mutated strain of toxoplasmosis which had either activated some dormant meta gene or afflicted him with some byproduct of Doctor Diplodoc's insane plan.

As his mother struggled with what to do about her son's mutation, Gum has been experimenting and enjoying his new features. Lately he's been teasing the idea of using his new found 'powers' to become a super hero...

Hero Type: Acrobat
Power Level: B. City Level
Powers:
-Animal Characteristics-

Cat Ears: Alongside his regular ears Gum has a set of feline ears on top of his head. These ears have a greater sensitivity than his human ears and allow him to hear frequencies and noises that would otherwise be impossible for a human to detect.

Cat Claws: Retractable claws are present on Gum's fingers and toes. They are in proper proportion with his body and while not overly long or any sharper than a natural claw would be, they are still very useful as natural weapons.

Cat Tail: Gum has a long, cat like tail with fur matching his now cyan colored hair. While obtrusive at times and often complicates wearing pants, his new tail gives him an incredible sense of balance. On top of that he also has great control over it, able to move it and coil it around things.

Cat Eyes: While Gum's eyes didn't change to match that of a cat's externally, they changed just enough inside that he gained a similar type of low-light vision to what felines possess. This effectively gives allows him to see in the dark, giving him a significant advantage at night or in poorly lit areas.

-Regenerative Healing-
Gum's immune system and the rate at which his body recovers from injuries was enhanced as an additional side effect of the toxoplasmosis strain that mutated his body. What would normally take weeks to heal now only take a matter of days and otherwise crippling injuries now heal with no noticeable loss in body capability or motor function.

Attributes:
Height: 5'5
Weight: 98 pounds
Strength Level: 10
Speed/Reaction Timing Level: 30
Endurance at MAXIMUM Effort: Normal Human
Agility: 5X
Intelligence: Average
Fighting Skill: Untrained
Resources: Minimal

Weaknesses: Gum isn't even a proper teenager yet. He's a young boy with the powers of a glorified house cat. Against most enemies he's outclassed in ability and skill.
Supporting Characters:
Mother (Nicky)- Always working, always worrying.
Father (Richy)- Stays at home, sleeping most of the time.
Little Sister (Annalis)- Young, annoying, terrifyingly intelligent for a girl her age.
Do you know how to post pictures on RPG boards?: Yes
Sample Post:

Pacific Point- Siftroot Apartment 101

In a small apartment, in the center of an even smaller room, was a bundle of blankets in the center of a tattered bed. The blankets shifted and moved with the breathing of the being inside of it which slept peacefully, quietly, even as minutes began to roll by like seconds. Slowly the digital dials of the nearby bedside alarm clock began to roll up until, with a soft mechanical click, the radio began to speak.

"H-hi this is Pacific Point Radio and I'm your host, B-blot. Your old host-uh, Jeff, was in a tragic accident yesterday. And by tragic accident I mean a man claiming to be a 'Hound of Humanity' broke into the studio, cut off Jeff's face, and threw it out the window into oncoming traffic saying he was an abomination. So here I am, sitting at a desk still covered in dried blood wondering when they're going to find Jeff's face, and ready to give you the morning news"

The cocoon of blankets pulsed and a small arm reached out towards the radio. It's finger smashed down into the snooze button, sharp milky white claws jutting out of the fingertips from the force, but the radio continued to play.

"Uh, well there's not a lot to report honestly. A few of the Neo Seattle Seahawks were killed in a car accident, and apparently there's going to be a meteor shower tonight-which we won't see because we live in the city."

Slamming on the radio several times with clawed finger tips the hand pulled back and braced against the head as a head popped out from beneath the covers.

Garfield Ubally Miller Ballsworth, or Gum as he'd been determined to call himself, glowered at the alarm clock as the warmth he'd collected in his personal little nest was sucked from his face by the frigid room. He stood up, determined to smite the cheap electronic contraption for waking him up, but as soon as the rest of his body was exposed to the frigid air of the room all desire to do anything was sucked from his soul.

"So there you have it folks. This day is starting with 1981's Mike Post's forgotten hit "Believe or Not", because believe it or not that naked man made off with more then just Jeff's face..."

Breathing a visible sigh of defeat, Gum waddled over to the full length mirror beside his bed and looked at himself as music from the radio began to play...

Look at what's happened to me,

I can't believe it myself.

Suddenly I'm up on top of the world,

It should've been somebody else!

A young boy of thirteen stared back at Gum with narrowed maroon eyes. He had a brilliant head of cyan colored hair, short but perky feline ears sticking up out of his skull like Halloween decorations, and a long thinly furred tail that swiveled and shook in the freezing air of his bedroom. Had he not woken up to the sight a dozen times since his illness, Gum would have assumed a stranger was staring back at him from the mirror.

He couldn't help but grin as he saw himself not wondering for a second what the future held for him. He didn't know what he'd changed, if the changes had stopped, or what would happen if people outside his family knew he'd changed.

Any other boy would have had fear begun to breed inside him, but Gum only smiled as the music from the radio swelled. He looked out the window as the morning sun began to peak out from behind horizon. Orange rays illuminated Pacific Point, his city, the home he'd always known and now felt he could 'save' with his powers.

And he would save this city. Save the whole world! All it would take was a little time, a lot of bravery, and most importantly-

"Gum? Gum! Are you awake yet? You're going to be late for school!"

A day off.

Pacific Point- Bed, Bath, and Beyond

Mentions: Dedonus(Kyra Muller)

“The FUCK was that? Did anyone else see a light? Because I just saw a light.” Several aisles down from where the many-tailed Kyra hid a balaclava wrapped head stuck out from behind a large shelf. The man’s eyes narrowed, his fingers curling around the body of his AN94 as glanced behind him.

There, in the main bedroom display section, eight men sliced open mattresses and pulled the soft memory foam guts out onto the floor. They were dressed down in dark suits with balaclavas on their faces and military gear strapped to their backs. The octad of criminals moved quickly. Pulling shrink wrapped stacks of bills and thick translucent bags of fine red crystalline powder out of the mattresses and stuffing them into awaiting duffel bags.

Hermit.” A name, likely a code name, was uttered by the tall french accented man in charge. “We are in a Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Lights are the only thing here besides mattresses and sink fixtures. If you need new bulbs for your perfumed little toiletry room, you can grab them on the way out.”

“Yeah, but Devil this didn’t look like a normal light. Should I check it out?” Hermit thumbed the safety on his rifle and Devil frowned, resting a hand on his own revolver as the others continued to work. Only interrupted by the faint shifting of the tied up employees on the floor behind him.

“Not alone, no. If you really did see something I want you to pair up with someone else. Don’t separate from one another and keep away from the front windows. The law doesn’t seem aware of our presence, but any ruckus will likely bring them down on us in short order.”

Devil glanced down the central aisle towards the storefront at the mention of the police. His eyes looking through the large pane windows and out into the near pitch black parking lot for any signs of movement.

His focus was broken as the floor shook and a shadow cast over him.

“I’ll go with him. We don’t know if it’s one of those costumed super-freaks. They always seem to show up when they’re not invited.”

Devil turned his head to the hulking man behind him. 6 feet, 11 inches tall and holding what was essentially a cut down aircraft weapon. A customized XM556 Microgun. Six barrels, rotating assembly, and belt fed from a large drum strapped to his back.

“Alright, Tower. Go with Hermit and make sure it’s clear. But keep things quiet. I don’t care if you bought that toy along you’re not to use it unless it's necessary. Is that understood? We still have another mattress to pack and we’re not leaving without every ounce of drugs and cash in this place.”

“Who the fuck uses a Bed Bath and Beyond to hide drugs and money?” One of the members muttered as they moved from mattress to mattress, stuffing their duffel bag to the point of bursting.

“Have you ever been into one of these places until now?” Another asked.

“No…”

Exactl. If you want to stash something then put it in the dullest, most mind numbing place imaginable. Like a bed bath and beyond, or any theater showing a Michael Bay movie.”

"Hey Micheal Bay isn't-"

“Less talk more drugs!” Devil snapped, drawing and cocking the hammer of his S&W 500 for added emphasis.

As the rest of the Tarot Card crew got back to work Tower flipped the safety off on his glorified cannon and cradled it into his arms.

“And you said bringing along this revolving cannon was a bad idea.”

“You’re right, it’s not a bad idea it’s an insipid idea. Machine-guns exist for a reason. Firepower like that is completely impractical.” Devil glared at Tower, briefly wishing he hadn't stopped smoking if only to enjoy blowing smoke in the giant's face.

“Fuck practicality! No one in this world did anything remotely meaningful or interesting by being practical and realistic! We live in a world where people can fly and can just start sprouting animal parts. Maybe it’s time you wake up to just what ‘reality’ means?”

Devil grit his teeth as Tower flashed a grin, stomping forward with Hermit shakily following close behind. The two slowly began to move towards row of mattresses where Kyra’s hiding spot sat. Hermit shook, grasping his rifle like a safety blanket as Tower held his Microgun with both hands, glancing around with eagers eyes hungry for an excuse to fire.

“Hey are those tails?” The two neared her position when-

“Stop right there criminal scum! You’ve violated the law.”

A voice cried out and the two criminals turned, aiming their guns at the figure who had jumped out seemingly from nowhere.

Gum had crept carefully through the smashed front windows of the store and made his way to the front desk. As soon as he saw the two walking around he couldn't resist and leapt onto the front desk, hands on his hips and head held high. He opened his mouth and shouted a warning thinking the robbers were armed with pistols.

As soon as his eyes saw the large, multi-barreled gun pointed right at him the confident smile beneath his bandit-mask dropped away. His maroon eyes going wide with disbelief.

“Oh shit! Is that a gatling gu-”

VRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRN

As soon as the Tower's thumb depressed the rear trigger the front desk was gone.

The barrels of the Microgun spun, becoming a blur as fire spewed from it's breaches. 5.56mm rounds were sent spawling forward in a deafening roar. Wood splintering and tiles shattering beneath the impact of the bullets were nearly ground out by the sound of the gun firing as it shook in Tower's grip like an untamed beast.

Pulling his thumb off the trigger the noise stopped. The barrel wound down, heat rising off it after just a measly 3 second burst.

Tower grinned, nearly on the verge of delightful laughter as Hermit stood shaking beside him. His ear's pounding from the sound of the gun going off.

The two looked forward, watching as the haze of dust and wood shaft blew away to reveal the broken remnants of the desk and a few scraps of black cloth from Gum's outfit.

“What the fuck are you two doing!?” Devil screamed, absolutely livid as he stepped into the center aisle with his revolver cocked.

"It was one of those furry freak heroes!" Tower exclaimed, gesturing his Microgun to the mutilated front desk. "He came into the store all cocky and now there's nothing left of him but-

CRASH

The shattering of glass filled the air, knocking the words from Tower's mouth as a lamp globe exploded against the side of his head. Razor fragments of translucent material sliced into the skin of his face, only barely missing his eyes as the shards cleaved holes in the fabric of his balaclava.

"AHHHHHHHHHH!"

Tower screamed, nearly dropping his gatling-gun as he clutched his face with one hand.

"Yeah! Bullseye! I'd have felt pretty bad missing a target that big!"

Across the aisle from Tower and Hermit, Gum stood alive and well holding a glass lampshade identical to the one he had just thrown. He stood playfully before the criminals, but his breath was heavy and unsteady.

When the gatling gun had fired Gum had dove to the side. Moving faster then he ever realized he could. Bullets cut past him, tearing off shreds from his loose costume as he bolted behind the cover of a large store shelf. In the brief three second firing that had destroyed the desk Gum had managed to make it to cover without really being seen.

His heart pounded in his chest and his second set of ears stung sharply from the sheer noise of the gunfire. At that moment Gum wanted to run. He wasn't sure what he had expected but this seemed to be too much. Yet the realization he had more or less dodged bullets filled him with a blinding excitement that overrode his fear. Hearing one of the robbers getting ready to say they had killed him prompted the young man to slip out and attack.

"I know you're all crazy criminals, but why rob a Bed, Bath, and Beyond? This place sucks! Couldn't you have robbed a gun shop, or a bank, or even a graveyard? Why couldn't you have picked a cool place to rob?"

As Gum talked Tower pulled his hand away from his face, smearing the blood across his torn up balaclava like war paint.

"You little FUCK, I'll neuter you!"

"But you still didn't answer my-"

VRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRN

Tower buried his finger into the trigger of his Microgun as Hermit shouldered and fired his AN-94 in full auto. Gum's reflexes spiked and he bolted sideways as a wall of bullets rended the spot where he was standing a mere second prior. Light fixtures were blasted into a find dust as holes were punched clean through shelves all the way through the walls on that side of the building.

Gum's arms swung like pendulums as he sprinted through the bathroom section of the store.

"Fuck.Fuck.Fuck.Fuck.Fuck.Fuck.Fuck.Fuck.Fuck!"

The masked eat-eared boy swore as a torrent of gunfire followed him ripping apart showers, sinks, and bathroom accessories that he passed. Tower and Hermit swiveled their guns, their fingers never leaving the triggers. Despite leading their shots Gum always stayed ahead of their shots, leaving their spray of bullets trailing behind him.

Devil grit his teeth in disgust at the stupidity of his comrades. He raised his revolver, but instead of aiming at Gum he aimed at a large sink ahead of him. A tug of the trigger released a concussive bang and the sink's supportive neck exploded. The remains of the sink crashed down in front of Gum, catching his foot as he ran and flooring him.

"Ooof!" He grunted, sliding across the well polished floor before coming at a stop behind a large steel tub. Before he could even think of standing a deafening pounding split his eardrums as metal collided with metal.

Tower and Hermit continued firing at Gum, their rounds striking and deflecting off the heavy tub. Despite not having line of sight with the boy they knew where he was and as long as they fired he couldn't move, and if he did he was as good as dead.

"Nowhere left to run kitty kat! Just stick your head out and die like a good little kiddo!" Tower shouted above his gunfire, laughing as Gum covered his ears and curled up behind the tub.

In the excitement of Gum's arrival however the two had totally forgotten about the tails they had seen. Tower and Hermit stood with their backs to Kyra's hiding spot...

“I’d prefer if you kept the killing for a more convenient time.” Quiet thought back to Kerrigan with a frown. “Someone with your strength should have equally powerful patience.”

It wasn’t difficult for Quiet to sympathize with Kerrigan. Her time spent on Mother Base, caged up, feared and misunderstood by the Diamond Dog soldiers came to mind. Because of her abilities and her refusal to speak many of the men were convinced she wasn’t human, some kind of alien or worse. Lily’s ire and suspicion seemed mostly focused on the more overtly exotic individuals of the group.

“The engineer and her robot don’t seem to have paid much attention to me so far. Besides my attire I look somewhat normal. I wonder if their attitude will remain the same when they see what I can do?”
“Hm. Would you be willing to make a trade?”

Cedar jumped slightly at Marston’s voice. However polite and even toned it was having anything directed specifically at her seemed to put her on edge. For a moment the teen stayed silent, looking down at the outstretched box of caramels and then down at the highly decorated revolver she held. Part of her wanted to reject the offer. Holding the gun made her feel safe and a little more confident.

However Marston’s face, and the sincerity of his offering made it difficult to refute even if Cedar had the strength of will to object in the first place.

“O-OK.” Cedar stuttered with a shaky nod of the head, reaching out and taking the caramels before slipping the Ambassador into Marston’s hand (having good sense enough not to point the barrel at him while doing so.) “A-a c-cowboy needs a revolver, right?” She asked, seemingly to no one.

(Trading between Marston and Cedar has been confirmed.
(Marston is now in the possession of the AMBASSADOR)
(Cedar is now in the possession of a Box of Caramels)

After gathering what they could from the room, stripping it clean of all it’s meaningful contents, the group made their way up the stairs and out of the underground offices. They were greeted by the dusty sunshine of the Courtyard located just outside the door to the stairs. It didn’t take long for them to mozy their way over to the bridge where Abe had already caught (and heartily eaten) an Arowana.

Standing on the roofed bridge overlooking the pond they were able to properly see the entirety of the town. Two near identical buildings overlooking one another with nothing but a rickety bridge and a glorified puddle separating the two. It was less than impressive but there was a strange sense of sincerity to the place and the smell of the dusty fields and fresh water was actually rather pleasant.

Other townsfolk wandered about getting their bearings, occasionally looking over to the group. Some were scared, others dismissive, other still intrigued. But all of them kept their distance and generally avoided them.

They were out of the underground offices, had picked up some things to use on their journey, and were ready to head out. All that remained was picking a direction to leave the town from. A cursory glance of the land around 2Fort made it difficult to see any real difference from North, South, East, and West. Flat, patchy land stretched out in all directions with no real landmarks or anything to denote importance.

Yet if 2Fort could sit in the middle of such an unremarkable area, there was no telling what else could be out there...

"Someone said something about picking a direction, right?" Cedar said, finally speaking up as they arrived outside. "A few people said north, but there are some people I don't remember saying anything. Do we all want to go North?"

Current Decisions on Direction
Marston- North
Cedar- North
Abe- North
Julian & Lily- North
El Presidente- ???
Batter- ???
Max Payne-???
Kerrigan- ???

>Players may take whatever actions they want before the group decision is made.
>Fish may be gotten from the Arowana Pond. Remaining Fish Left: ???
