Platform:Liberal Democracy (de-jure), Authoritarianism (de-facto)

Important Individuals:

Richard Buchard, President of New Texas

Former governor of Texas, turned into the First President of the New Texas Republic. A man who is cold, calculating and ruthless in his pursuit of maintaining the stability of Texas.

Hannah Ruby, Marine Major and commanding-officer of Task Force Gamma

A former US Marine of Texas birth, put in charge of Task Force Gamma - namely a joint-group of Special Mission Units, that had remained in Texas and agreed to stay and fight for the UST.

Territory: Texas (minus Golf Coast region) and Oklahoma.

History: After the Second Korean War happened, then-Texas Governor Richard Buchard had started stockpiling money, resources, fuel and food - since many analysists had predicted, that the Second Korean War might blow up any seven ways. Most feared the global distruption and damage to the world economy that might happen - if either Japan or South Korea were bombed.

Things turned completely three-hundred sixty - when the United States lost in a naval battle against China. From there the crisis developed further until the Washington Massacre happened and the entire country was thrown into rebellion.

With California the first state to seceed completely from the union - Texas soon followed suit, folding any remaining property of the United States into the New Texas Republic. With many states devolving into anarchy, collapsing or former radical ideals - then President Richard Buchard, deployed what Army Forces had been formed to 'secure' the state of Oklahoma into the New Texas Republic. Both being easily able to be persuaded to join the Republic - as Texas had both the manpower, population and resources to become the South-Western regional power.

Despite the military and economic power of the New Texas Republic - they also plagued by crackdowns and internment camps. As President Buchard, has unleashed a round-up of many left-wing politicians, civil servants, citizens and journalists. His policies are multi-racial, as he only targets people based on their political 'beliefs' only. As such, the world only knows of having the opposition being denied a say in the policies of Texas and nothing more.

With the rise of the APSF - it has become a one-way ticket to the internment camps, if anybody so much as organizes a protest, a rally or a civil rights march. Anything related to undermining the the policies of the the New Texas Republic is grounds for immediate crackdowns and arrests.

Military Forces: Most of the former US Army and Air Bases had been absorbed in to the new state - with active soldiers being given the choice to either join the new state' army or be honorably discharged for their service. In the chaos of the Second American Civil War - most chose to stay in the freshly formed Texas Army.

Many of the former US-equipment was painted over and shipped into the hands of the Texas Army - while a draft had been instituted to help build up their numbers. While several civilians militias have been given government funding to be formed.

It's really something that gets covered up in black up notions, but I don't think will ever really evolve into anyone straight up purchasing resources from one of these factions until they have formal control of the United States and haven't totally alienated the rest of the world. Since while certain groups could arm the factions they like, the global west may also embargo the United States to prevent or slow down the number of escalating weapons arriving inside the country.

One way to look at it too would be like when the British Empire embargo'd the colonies during the War for Independence to prevent as best they could French support ships coming in, and to capture congressional delegates heading out on diplomatic missions.

To add a layer of worry, the US is the second-most nuclear equipped country in the world. Politically instability here puts the nukes in the hands of groups with ambiguous goals. It would be in the interests of the outside world to make sure the conflict doesn't get any worse and to most importantly prevent the most radical groups from ever getting control of all the warheads.

Would anyone be able to get things from the outside? Or is that something which only the remains of the federal government supporters can get if at all since they are still seen as the "true" America.

There might be some channels but it would be extremely limited and affected by consequential economic collapse that has literally the entire nation at war with itself at this scale. Depending on whether or not California or New York is going to embargo internet connection for the interior then it's likely only they will have access to the external consumer market, assuming their population even has the financial stability to make purchases and their bank accounts totally not being nuked with the total seizure of assets that might arise in some areas, or the falling out of financial backing from the federal government making the situation so bad easily spooked bankers straight up jump ship and leave.

Otherwise material aid into the country would probably come in the form of NGO organizations organizing efforts to get medical and basic needs into the country to make noncombatant's lives easier. This would probably end up having a tremendous social impact given the American identity since forever has been at some level of individualist success and when large-scale long-term aid missions were needed there was reluctance to go along with it, or when they had too there was some major depression and regret on the part of the bread winners. But then again, this is thinking back to the 1930's and mostly the Dust Bowl and the disaffected pride of farmers laid to waste by pool economic conditions and a fucking ecological disaster (which I might add that very same region is still entirely vulnerable to today still).

@Keyguyperson I have an idea. Given the general spread of people's nation's ideologies and ideas, what if there were two broad labels that people fell under. "Loyalists/Patriots" for the people who want to keep the old ways and "Revolutionaries/Reformers" who want to do something new. These labels wouldn't be binding and there could easily still be infighting but I'd imagine it would be a way for outsiders to have a broad, general view of which faction is on which side and stuff.
