My last post was setup up, so I can't really do much until the scene moves.

Let's see what happens, if need be, I'll do something.

I'm here from the recent interest check, and would love to join in the future, but I have a quick question before I finish my CS.

Do Vessels have to be objects? Because my idea was that the normal form changed my character's left eye,causing it to turn completely black, allowing him to sense everything in a 30 meter radius around him.

Morgan Droud

Name: Morgan Droud

Age: 18

Appearance: Morgan is a young man with gender neutral features, violet eyes, pale skin, and silver, shoulder length hair often tied back in a ponytail.

Bio: Morgan's father was a citizen of the empire, while his mother was from the Grand Dutchy. The two died when he was a child, and much of his time since then was spent travelling, not just through his own homeland, the Empire, but the Dutchy, his mothers, as well. Along his journey he met many people, and learned many things, awakening his vessel at some point along the way. Many years after starting his journey, he encountered someone heading for the Academy, and after following them there, soon found himself joining.

Vessel: Morgan refers to his Vessel as Arcanus, the name given by a man who saved his life while he was traveling. Under normal circumstances, it seems to possess left eye, causing it to turn completely black and blinding it. In it's second form, he regains his full vision as Aracanus fuses with his body, becoming a black fog, and changing his appearance, causing him to fade, becoming slightly transparent.

Abilities: Aracnus is ill suited to combat, however its powers have saved Morgan's life on multiple occasions. In its standard form, while possessing his left eye, he gains the ability to sense everything in a 30 meter radius around him, and as his ethereal form give his abilities similar to a ghost, as most objects pass through him, though vessels and other arcane objects are unaffected by this. He is incapable of passing through floors and walls however, and cannot open doors.

Equipment: a long black coat, a pair of pistols (in the coat's pockets), Arcanus

Trivia:

• Morgan almost always wears a black coat, passed down to him by his father, and is obsessed with space, often only carrying what he can fit in his pockets.
• His guns were a gift from the same man who named Arcanus, and are heavily modified, fired bullets capable of piercing through up to 3 cm of steel.
• Despite his constant traveling, Morgan is slightly below average physically, and has very little stamina.

Is this good for my CS?

What is the universal standard kit that is issued by the Empire to cadets aside from the equipment and vessels we have brought with us? Stuff like rucksacks, grapnel and lines, etc.

Well, I can say the CS is formatted adequately. And the Vassal is interesting.

My only issue is your Equipment, in regards to the twin Pistols. Perhaps you could elaborate on what those are a bit, because from what I'm reading they sound like a more modern semi-automatic handgun or heaven forbid a Desert Eagle with it's stopping power.

While I can't speak to the tech level of Notes with much confidence without conferring with KoL, I can say that something like that is really out of place considering we've already had encounters with musket wielding rifleman amidst shields and axes.

Regina's sniper is an exception as it is her Vassal, so a magic rifle fundamentally of similar design but superior performance isn't far fetched.

If you wanted pistols in the flintlock variety I'd say those are more appropriate.

There's no universal standard kit. Everyone has more or less customized equipment. Certain items are common sense, though, like rope, a lighter, and other normal camping gear. The Academy would have provided anyone with anything they'd want as long as it's not some obscure/pointless luxury item.

In other words, you can dictate what your characters carried to the field.

Trivia:

• Morgan almost always wears a black coat, passed down to him by his father.
• His guns were a gift from the same man who named Arcanus, two modified flintlock pistols.
  
  • His primary pistol has a basic cartridge system, allowing him to fire up to three shots before reloading, at the cost of jamming if he fires too fast.
  • His backup pistol would better be referred to as a hand cannon, capable of piercing up to 3 cm of steel, but near impossible to accurately aim. Also, anyone in the vicinity will likely be deaf for about a minute after firing due to the explosion.
• Despite his constant traveling, Morgan is slightly below average physically, and has very little stamina.

I made a few modifications, but I checked, and my pistol ideas work. No matter the world, there's always someone pushing the boundaries of modern technology, and it just means that Morgan's using what's essentially experimental works.

If it doesn't work though, I can trade them for standard issue ones.

Hmm, nah, those should be fine as they are. I just didn't want someone walking around able to unload 20 something rounds of AP bullets before even needing to reload in a time where enemies rely on heavy armor and shields.

@KoL I figured I'd drop my CS here see what you think. If he doesn't work I can rework him as needed.

Foley Barca

Name: Foley Barca

Age: 16

Appearance

Bio/Summary: Foley was adopted by his grandfather, a scholar from Aquaria who had come Orello to study the old ruins. Raised among the fort's soldiers and under the teachings of a scientist and philosopher, he up well feed and strong. His intelligence however is where he is keenly noted, books of military history and strategy vanished into his mind alongside little known works on black powder and combustion. Often traveling with his grandfather to ruins they would debate history and the truth in myth. Hiding his vessel from others under orders from his grandfather, he did not want his only family to die in battle.

This ended when his grandfather fell ill, by then a young man of fourteen and having become skilled with a bow and knife. He did his best to avoid a soldiers life, knowing it was not the path his grandfather wanted for him, spending over a year working for the brewers and doing everything else he could. It was never enough and soon the old man passed away, with nothing left he revealed his skill to the commander of the fort.

Vessel: Sun's Wisdom

Dormant- Appearing as two leather bound tomes containing military advice and tactical guides. Granting mental clarity and telepathy to the bearer

Active- Appearing as gold and black ornate bow and quiver, the arrows from this weapon once fired blaze like a rising sun becoming golden beams of light once fired. The quiver seems to never empty no matter how many arrows are pulled from it.

Abilities: Foley is by decent combatant however his true power lay in his ability to quick adapt and work with others. His telepathy and ability to see battles objectively rather than as passionate conflicts allows him to fully assess the situation quickly. Mentally linking with others he can share plans at a lightning pace and enact them with extreme efficiency.

Equipment: Long knife, his grandfather's journal, and notes on how to brew Orello ale.

Trivia/Other: He loves to perform acrobatics and climb things, and often slips off to the highest point he can find to think.

It's fine if your going to be busy, but about your post.

I understand if it's Regina's perspective, but could you tone down the...negative, opinion of your squad mates? It seemed hard to go three sentences without seeing the word incompetent in conjunction with Ires, Gradon, and in part Leblanc if Regina acts like she'll die for certain without the sniper doing 'all the work herself.'

Regina and you are entitled to your opinion, but damn did that feel venomous to read when she more busy internally sniping the leaders then the birds, and it could do with being toned down in the future.
