@Inkarnate When you say storm, do you mean weather, or just lightning? I'm fixing up my sheet, but I'm not sure what Elian's "support magic" would fall under. I wouldn't say that's healing/holy, but I'm not sure if it all is one discipline or covers a few specific powers from several. Additionally, are you doing classic elements + holy, or would you accept less standard elements, like force, charm, etc?

Lightning. Regular winds would be air/wind by my measure. Also, why not holy? I want to keep it to core domains, so the basic elements I tend to use – though this is not to say charm spells and others don’t exist they just apply on a more arcane system than an elemental one. If that makes any sense?

I could add arcane domain under it to incorporate things like charms and such if you think its a good idea?

Arcane seems like a good domain to cover stuff that doesn't really fit anywhere else. Like Tiferet's buffs, for example. :p

@Inkarnate Well, for example, Tiferet with her buffs and debuffs, or any character that focuses on supporting and inspiring allies while weakening opponents will have an interesting cross-section of elements. Earth usually handles increased strength, wind increased speed, holy might handle decreased requirement for spells, though stamina could be that or earth. Some places have healing as water, or as a subset of earth. Poison could be earth by way of plants, or it could be a separate discipline, attached to a number of ruinous debuffs. Force or Barriers can be shields and protective spells, with force also handling sudden swift movement, which could possibly be filed under wind. There's the entire discipline of blood magic -- ones that damage the caster, or require a successful hit to be used - at least one of which Elian uses for escaping melee range. Elian also uses a few force things -- barriers and the sudden accelleration, or knockback, primarily, as well as (at least potentially) supporting strength, stamina, and overall health. I'm not sure what division will cover this, and I can probably nix most of it, but the force discipline and shields seems important.

@Inkarnate Possibly, but it seems sensible for magic to have some sort of unifying theme. Then again, I can't think nanyome here would abuse it, so. *shrug* So that puts elian in...is healing holy or arcane? And the arcane, I guess for the second, since most of her stuff that could be wind could be covered by wither arcane or holy.

Either watpy, 99% of my sheet is done, just waiting on an actual computer with a proper keyboard.

Added arcane domains to the sheet, see Rael for an example. But yeha, like I said in the discord chat if it makes sense and you can make it work it is probably fine.

I thought you meant arcane is an elemenal domain of magic. Now I'm confused...and if all her stuff fell under wind to start, I'm not sure how adding the arcane aspect helps. Is Elian required to use an element as well as an arcane type? I'm sure I can make it work...just not sure how to describe it well.

The way I have it setup in my head is wayfarers learn and choose a domain that fits their “playstyle” from the onset. For example, Rael has wind and enhancement thus giving her the sort of breakneck speed that fits with my vision of the character. We don’t really have to overthink it all that much.

@Inkarnate Yeah, but that would be the game's benchmarks making her better at what she does a lot, not a specific spell, right. Unless she's using magic? For example, Elian's ability to know when her partymates are in trouble and how badly isn't a spell but a passive skill. Something like, say, a scrying spell to determine the location of a monster group, that'd need to be specifically cast -- and I don't know if you'd even go for something like that. Though I suppose you could say the way skills are improved is by magic, but I didn't design anything around a single magic concept outside of "healing", "protection", and "support". Ehhh. *fiddles with things* I'm trying to decide if healing and strength/endurance/speed/etc buffs all fall under body, or if that excludes casting stamina, or if I could just loosely lump them all under the arcane focus of healing. Force is her secondary discipline, no questions.

@Inkarnate I'm probably overthinking it, and it's probably flexible in practice, despite my desire to make the char sheet fit perfectly. *sigh* It just bothers me that the first non-healing spell I ever came up with for Elian doesn't fit under any of these. X.x "Whack an opponent and then jet back a couple meters" is...well I suppose that could be force. Yeah, sure, I'll go with that.

Most mages in RPGs tend to harness more than one element. I intended Tessa to harness metal (to control her chains), lightning (to send through her chains for damage), and gravity (to create AoE slowing fields). Will this still be possible?

So I'm super interested in this!! I'm hoping there's still a spot available~! I probably shouldn't have gone ahead of myself and assumed there was, but it was fun to make the character anyhow!

Let me know if I should change anything! I was unsure about the domain part.
