APPEARANCE

Clay is without a doubt eye-catching in his own, special way. When one looks at him the first thing to notice is easily his bright caramel colored eyes that always seem to have some sort of mischief about them. Anytime anyone would look at him there are always murmurs of 'that boys up to trouble' or disapproving shakes of the head. One look into his eyes and anyone can tell he's plotting something. Beyond this his hair and face continue to add on to what many people would begrudgingly admit is a fairly attractive man. His skin is a darkened brown and red, almost as if he was always just slightly sunburned, while his hair is the purest black one could find. It hangs down his back in a way which is just long enough to wave in the soft breeze. All of his features are chiseled and sharp, giving him an intense yet pleasing persona even though he never quite intends it.

This, coupled with his somewhat impressive height causes him to always wander with a confident aura about him that many would never deny borders on being outright arrogant. His clothing rarely changes from day to day, always including jeans which generally have some sort of hole or tear in them, a tank top at all times even when the weather shouldn't allow it, and a worn denim jacket that he never leaves home without. Lastly he always seems to have a red bandanna wrapped around his forehead to keep his slightly longer then average hair from getting in his face.

All along down his hands and up towards his wrists are several small scars which come from his time constantly getting into trouble and into scrapes. If he was to take off his shirt several more, and much more evident scars would be seen which he would gladly discuss and explain how he got every single one with a definite grin upon his face.

PSYCHOLOGY

"Yeah, yeah I get it I'm a bit of a handful... But don't you dare deny I'm the life of the party."

MAIN GOAL ⫻ Clay lives his life to distract himself from whats to come. He wants to have the most excitement possible in the shortest amount of time.

PHILOSOPHY ⫻ For Clay, living isn't living unless something is being risked. If you aren't taking a chance, you're missing out on the game of life where everything is at stake and it's the only game worth playing. You've only got a short time on the earth and it's not worth wasting when you could have been grabbing ahold of everything it had to offer.

SECRETS ⫻ Clay hides very little from anyone, claiming that the only reason to try and hide something is if you're ashamed of it. That being said, he hides his family from absolutely everyone, never talking or mentioning them once.

DESIRES ⫻ Clay wants to escape what he knows is coming for him. He knows for a fact that his fate his catching up and his only chance to escape is to keep playing the game of life until eventually he loses, and gets to escape the end goal.

SEXUALITY ⫻ Clay's been around the block and tried everything there is to try. He doesn't really claim a certain sexuality, but anyone watching him can tell he has eyes for ladies more than anyone else.

FEARS ⫻ Clay fears his own family, and his own potential for following in their footsteps. Everything he does is to try and ignore that basic primal fear. He also has an uncanny fear of being caught off guard. Startling him is never a good move.

REPUTATION ⫻ Clay is the trouble maker, but one people can't help but tolerate. He'll do something incredibly stupid, such as a massive prank or an insane stunt, however he never involves anyone in it that doesn't want to. People tolerate him because outside of this, he's not much harm. He goes to work, and works hard. It's when he's off the clock that everyone grows worried.

PET PEEVES ⫻ Clay hates people who feel sorry for themselves. He infinitely more respects those who would simply suck it up and deal the hand they've been dealt. The only thing he hates more than this is people who can't mind their own damn business.

QUIRKS ⫻ When he's alone, or with a group he trusts, Clay has no impulse control. If he see's something he thinks might be exciting, he jumps on it and just does it. It's common knowledge that when Clays around you should always have a camera, and the number for an ambulance, on hand.

BACKSTORY

"I'm sorry, I must have missed the part where I said you could ask me about my life."

Clay lived in the city up until 6 years ago, when he and his mother moved into town. Since then Clay has made friends, and a reputation, for himself that most know about. His mother however is entirely reclusive and nearly no one in the town can even say they've held more then a few sentences of conversation with her. Any rumors about her are conflicting, with some saying she's the sweetest old lady around, and others saying she's quite possibility the meanest resident to live there in years. The fact is, all of these stories are true. Clay's mother suffers from a unique mental disorder which forces her to harshly swap between several different personalities, all with their own unique and disturbing traits. This causes Clay to feel ashamed of his mother, and he only stays in the house long enough to take care of her needs, otherwise he's off to work to pay the bills that she can't.

The reason Clay is so quiet about this is due to one simple reason: his grandfather had this disorder, as did his great grandfather. He knows it's hereditary, and he's doomed to the same fate as his mother. Because of this he lives his life to the fullest, trying to distract himslef from his inevitable fate of absolutely going insane. He want's absolutely anything but that, and prays that one day one of his stupid stunts ends with him never getting up and escaping everyone he knows someday seeing him this way.

SKILLS & TALENTS

"Yeah, I do some stupid stuff. But name one person that can do them as well as I can."

[Acrobatics] ⫻ Clay has no official training in Acrobatics but never once has he let that stop him. Because of his Daredevil stunts Clay finds nearly no object unclimbable, no distance too dangerous for him to jump, and nothing too stupid for him to try. It's certainly no Olympic display, but for someone who's self taught, it's fairly impressive.

[Crime] ⫻ Thanks to his mischievous ways, Clay has found himself learning skills rather surprising for someone of his stature. He's never used them in any harmful way, instead choosing to use them as tools for pranks, but nonetheless he hopes someday his abilities to pick pocket and pick locks may come to actual use.

ABSTRACTION ⫻ Abhorrence Osmosis: The ability to draw upon others negative emotions in order to enhance Clay's physical form

ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ (I realize you said to shy away from powers about the body, so I'll understand if you want me to change this!) Clay feeds off of others negative emotions, specifically those based in kinds of fear. By physical touch he can take these fears and absorb them into his own body, temporarily granting relief to those who feel such terror, and this fear then briefly changes and empowers him based on how intense or long lasting the fear had been manifesting within the users mind. While he has this power his body is morphed to become faster and stronger while also taking tendencies towards what the fear-vector was afraid of. For example if he were to take fear from someone who had a long lasting phobia of spiders, he would also possibly grow legs, or be able to climb upon walls, Ect. If it so happens that these fears are a long-going and deep rooted fear (such as true dread), Clay receives much more power and physical changes.

IN THE PRESENCE OF THE MOUNTAIN ⫻ Clay is quite possibly the only person who doesn't ever want to have his powers amplified by the mountain, as when in its presence he is forced to draw upon the truly biggest source available to him: himself. When this happens, he becomes exactly what he dreads: a monster with incredible strength and an absolutely unreasonable mind. This is when he achieves true insanity.

AURA SENSING ⫻ Clay can see Auras of those who intend on causing danger, however he can only do this when they are practically right in front of him. Beyond this his only other aura seeing ability is to see when people are scared, however this is a fairly short ranged ability unless it is an intensely amount of fear.

@Puffhead Oh shit I missed this. Now, while I will say that biological powers are banned, this is still acceptable. Just say that the biological changes are aura based (like they look like green lantern constructs or something). He's accepted.

LIMITS ⫻ In order for Clay to draw on the fears of others, he first has to touch them - however it has to be an extended touch. He can't instantly use someone's fear to empower himself. The more intense the fear, the longer he has to touch them. If he were to grace someone, he'd get a small amount of their fear, but a handshake would give him a bit more. The intensity of the fear also dictates how long he holds onto the empowerment. Again, if he graces someone he'd only have it for five minutes. But, if he holds onto the person for about two minutes he'd be able to hold onto the power for a great amount of time. He can only hold onto the fears of one person at a time, if he were to try it with a different person; he'd lose the previous one. The exemption to this limit is if he's in the presence of the mountain.

WEAKNESSES ⫻ By tapping into someone's fear, he experiences their fear as long as he's using their power.
He won't inherit phobias, but only a sense of fear. Which can make it incredibly difficult to focus and use his abilities. Courage is also the direct opposition of his power, and should the person he is drawing fear from feel courage, Clay will immediately lose his abstraction.

As I told on the Discord chat, I worked around Claire's limits a little. Making the Weaknesses is still in my plans, feel free to help. I insist >:( .

LIMITS ⫻ Claire's abstraction, like many others, require a degree of mental effort in order to tap into its telekinetic force. Such prolongation of usage tends to weaken her body and mind; and in order to avoid headache and fatigue Claire has to limit herself in using her abstraction, usually few minutes of extensive and constant use before she fells such effects. Giving proper use and control, Claire manages to use her power for at least 30 minutes or two third of that if in stressful situations.

Also, I changed Julia's powers & background (Tweaked skills and psychology just a little to fit the new changes). If you in the mood for re-reading feel free.

The moment you lay eyes upon the girl, you would be able to tell way more than you should be able to about a stranger’s personality just from Callie’s mannerisms. She has a tendency to appear ‘closed off’ or self-conscious even when just remaining idle. This tends to manifest most obviously when Callie seats herself, whereupon her legs are often drawn close to her body and her arm come to up near her chest as if such a childish pose was comfortable to her. Callie’s voice can be heard almost always through a murmuring tone, inhabiting a sort of breathy quality. It is clear by the hard pronunciation of her syllables that she has a Midwestern dialect.

Callie was blessed with a slim and lean figure. Her skinny limbs almost appear wiry attached to her fragile frame. It is extremely clear upon first viewing the girl that she is by no means any star athlete, but she sports a healthy build, though, with her appetite for sweet foods, you’d be surprised she maintains a sort of figure at all. Her skin is smooth and fair in nature, though it appears often more pallid than one might imagine for a girl constantly outside in sunny Montana.

Most commonly, Callie’s face is coveted by a pensive yet absent look, as if equally deep in thought and entranced by her surroundings at the same time. The most prominent features of her face center around her rather distinct cheekbones, easily defined due to her slim and rounded face shape. Easily noticeable upon first meeting her are Callie’s emerald eyes, contrasting well with her dark brown hair, which from a distance, might even look black. Her hair is styled- or moreso unstyled- in a slightly curly manner falling just past her shoulders. It also also not uncommon for her to style it in a side swept updo that comes over one shoulder, then supplemented with whatever ribbon accessories Callie sees fit.

Callie’s outfits tend to have quite a bit of variability as she’s not one to forego a fashionable look even despite her ‘less than center of attention’ vibe. More So than anything else, however, she’ll often sport a pair of skinny jeans alongside a simple top. More often than not, Callie enjoys sporting a jacket over top of her shirt if the weather isn’t too horrible.

PSYCHOLOGY

"If only I was as interesting as the rumors..."

MAIN GOAL ⫻ More than anything Callie just wishes to find a place for herself in the world. In her current condition, she finds herself pulled back and forth between different tasks with so little motivation. Not only does she yearn for a true purpose, but also an accepted place in a social sense.

PHILOSOPHY ⫻ Callie would best be described as a dreamer. She’s come to see the bad that plagues the world, but chooses to seek for more hope. Despite this slightly pessimistic outlook, Callie spends all too much time sitting back and dreaming as the world burns around her. Even her negativity is trumped in the end, as Callie sees herself as a force of nature, believing that even in the inevitability of life she intends to persevere and become something great. You know… If she ever turns those moments of wishful thinking into a reality.

SECRETS ⫻ When it comes to a quiet girl like Callie, there’s bound to be a whole host of secrets hidden behind her silence. For starters, Callie really doesn’t talk about her past. She finds herself too insecure about how insignificant it seems compared to how it all felt.

DESIRES ⫻ Callie dreams for all too many things. She seeks companionship-- something she feels she’s been starved of for so long. Callie also wishes to become a writer, publishing her works and her poetry. Some things just seem like pipe dreams, though, right?

SEXUALITY ⫻ Callie has always been attracted to guys, but mainly because it was how she was brought up to perceive the world rather than representative of her actual beliefs. She finds that personally, she has no gender-based preference.

FEARS ⫻ Callie always says she has no fear, but as with most all of similar cases, this is quite untrue. In honesty, Callie fears living her entire life unhappy. It seems inevitable to her that her time will go by without much enjoyment, but it scares her that something like that could be the truth.

REPUTATION ⫻ Callie tends to give off a mysterious vibe to the residents that distantly know her. No one really knows where she came from or why she came to Montana. She has been noted to have a tendency to be seen around the town just casually relaxing and writing in her notebook. There have been a few silly rumors started, which Callie seems to fully accept, happy to hear the funny speculations. Those who know her a bit better will know about her sarcastic attitude towards the world.

PET PEEVES ⫻ Above all else, Callie is always bothered by intolerance. Perhaps she fancies herself too much of a thinker, but any radical hate for others just makes people seem narrow-minded and barbaric. It is rare that anyone would ever see Callie outwardly showing an aggressive hate.

QUIRKS ⫻ Just from Callie’s everyday mannerisms, you’d be able to discern more than any person should comfortably be able to about a stranger’s personality. She has a strange tendency to keep herself very closed off in terms of body language. This manifests itself as simple gestures such as having her legs scrunched up against her chest when sitting or rolling her shoulders slightly inwards, as if appearing smaller.

Callie tends to be quite adept at keeping all the details of her past hidden from her peers. Then again, there aren’t many folks that would care to ask. Her tale is a common one, as she was the sort of girl that would be forgotten in the grand scheme of things. As one of the students of Grand Ridge Academy that actually chose to go to rural Montana from elsewhere, Callie is a suburban kid through and through from the great and well known state of beautiful Ohio where she was raised since her birth.

Callie’s life was a quiet one growing up. As an only child, there was only so much conversation she cared to make with her family and friends were never something that came easily to her. Born to a pair of rather simple individuals, Callie’s father was a trade worker in the electrician’s field while her mother was a stay-at-home caretaker. She fulfilled her sort of stereotype rather well, though; she got good grades, kept to herself in school, and only really reached out to people when necessary. Callie’s only real social interaction came from her tagging along with the neighborhood kids, who were all rather close, as they played all sorts of games. She never was a center of attention, but she was never excluded, and that was all Callie could ask for. To just be a spectator was enough for her. Things degraded after time went on, however.

As Callie advanced in age, the marriage of her parents slowly degraded until they left one another on rather simple terms. It was nothing big, just a loss of love. Callie wasn’t all that surprised at the time, and due to her young age, she didn’t really think ahead about the imminent change that would strike her life. After the whole long process of court nonsense, custody over Callie was given to her father and the two of them moved into a smaller place a few hours away, thus throwing an already introverted girl into a completely new school. It was hard for her to leave the neighborhood, but Callie had a rather naive outlook, not thinking about it too much. Things were no easier in her new home. In fact, between the casual bullying and all of the monetary issues, Callie’s life had definitely changed for the worse.

As Callie’s life went on, things only seemed to spiral more out of her control. Her lack of forward thinking left her in for much of a culture shock as that ‘neighborly’ air that surrounded her childhood community seemed entirely absent in the ‘real world’. It was almost as if her old house’s block was a whole different world than what was surrounding it. Callie found very few people that just accepted her as she was in middle school and high school. Between that and all the crazy mix-ups in her life, her grades began to fall and her attendance started to falter. School became such a lax priority in Callie’s life as she instead tried to spend her time seeking an outlet for her frustrations.

It wasn’t until her Junior year of high school that Callie truly found her escape. On a whim, she signed up for a Creative Writing course for easy credit. In the course, Callie surprised even herself with her abilities as well as making a lifelong confidant in her instructor. It was through this class (which Callie proceeded to repeat for her final year of high school) that she found what truly brought her joy. In between fiction and poetry, she finally had an outlet.

Upon graduation, Callie had little to no idea of what she wanted to do. She loved to write, but wouldn’t dare pursue such a trade that provided no reliable work. She instead sought to go to college as her parents had so vehemently encouraged her to do. Callie was also at a loss in picking a college. She did know one thing about the decision, though: she wanted to get far away from her home state. California or Florida… Somewhere nice. In the end, she didn’t have the grades for her dream school and ended up applying to a few schools that looked tolerable in hopes she would be able to spend a year somewhere and re-apply to a different college after that. That is how she ended up in good old rural Montana… But don’t tell anyone.

Watchful Eye ⫻ Callie often finds herself playing the role of the observer. She’s come to spend a great deal of her life as nothing more than a sort of spectator. ABSTRACTION DESCRIPTION ⫻ Callie's abstraction has granted the ability to see which is unseen. This Abstraction comes in a variety of different forms, the main ability that Callie has access to is the ability to "observe." Basically, this ability allows her to visualize a location, and scry that location as if she was there. Gaining all that information in her mind's eye, she'll receive all the sights and sounds in her mind's eye. She can observe any location within ten meters of herself, and in any angle, she just needs to know about the location. This ability to observe has a few sub-powers. Starting with the ability to see into the minds of others, and read their thoughts - it works on a different level than telepathy, as it's looking directly into someone's mind. Callie will have to shift through thoughts to find the information she wants. If she wanted to, she could see memories, emotions, and things that have been forgotten. The other ability inherent to her Abstraction is the ability to see through the eyes of others; as if she was the person. She'd be considered a passenger, and be able to do nothing but watch through their eyes. It has a strange effect where the more Callie uses her ability, the stronger it gets. Her field of view will be expanded, and she'll be able to see clearly.

IN THE PRESENCE OF THE MOUNTAIN ⫻ Callie's power gets a significant boost. Starting with the ability to observe up to three separate locations at a time, and her range is boosted to thirty meters. This means she could, in theory, observe one location, see someone's mind, while also seeing through someone else's eyes. Callie gains the ability to see the unseen, things such as abstract concepts (the pain of a person, ghosts, auras, etc), and more. She can also see the future with intense amounts of concentration.

AURA SENSING ⫻ Callie's Abstraction renders aura reading redundant. However, she creates a passive effect that allows other people to sense auras much better, and increases their range up to fifteen meters.

LIMITS ⫻ The main limit to her ability is visualization, and prior knowledge. Essentially meaning that she has to be able to visualize the location she wants to see. Say if she wants to see her room; should be easy enough as she's familiar with the room. If she wants to observe a office she visited once, she's going to have a harder time visualizing it, and thus seeing into it. Other than that, she can only see locations within ten meters of herself, and only one location at a time (unless in the presence of the mountain). Callie's ability is naturally countered by things such as invisibility, and in addition, an Awakened can tell that Callie is observing an area due to the ripples that appear.

WEAKNESSES ⫻ Vision is a gift and a curse, while she can see more, Callie is extra vulnerable to the same things that would be a threat to her normal vision. Namely being bright lights, which are her absolute bane. In addition, observing a location removes Callie's ability to see through her own eyes (unless in the presence of the mountain, yadda, yadda), and thus makes her vulnerable to assault. Using the ability to see multiple places at once under the mountain's presence strains her mind greatly, along with overusing her abilities can cause an information overload where she sees everything at once.

IN THE PRESENCE OF THE MOUNTAIN ⫻ Callie's power gets a significant boost. Starting with the ability to observe up to three separate locations at a time, and her range is boosted to thirty meters. This means she could, in theory, observe one location, see someone's mind, while also seeing through someone else's eyes. Callie gains the ability to see the unseen, things such as abstract concepts (the pain of a person, ghosts, auras, etc), and more. She can also see the future with intense amounts of concentration.

AURA SENSING ⫻ Callie's Abstraction renders aura reading redundant. However, she creates a passive effect that allows other people to sense auras much better, and increases their range up to fifteen meters.

LIMITS ⫻ The main limit to her ability is visualization, and prior knowledge. Essentially meaning that she has to be able to visualize the location she wants to see. Say if she wants to see her room; should be easy enough as she's familiar with the room. If she wants to observe a office she visited once, she's going to have a harder time visualizing it, and thus seeing into it. Other than that, she can only see locations within ten meters of herself, and only one location at a time (unless in the presence of the mountain). Callie's ability is naturally countered by things such as invisibility, and in addition, an Awakened can tell that Callie is observing an area due to the ripples that appear.

WEAKNESSES ⫻ Vision is a gift and a curse, while she can see more, Callie is extra vulnerable to the same things that would be a threat to her normal vision. Namely being bright lights, which are her absolute bane. In addition, observing a location removes Callie's ability to see through her own eyes (unless in the presence of the mountain, yadda, yadda), and thus makes her vulnerable to assault. Using the ability to see multiple places at once under the mountain's presence strains her mind greatly, along with overusing her abilities can cause an information overload where she sees everything at once.
