Renji’s comes from a large farming family, twelve people crammed under one roof, all tending crops and livestock, shuttling them to Rezion, and selling them at the market. The whole family turns up, his grandmother and his father taking turns shepherding the kids around the city and manning the stall.

He decided to become an adventurer when he was eight. Renji managed to escape his father’s tired watch and found a sparring area for the adventurers. He observed with rapt attention and he fell in love with the profession.

He practiced the moves he saw everyday at home, bales of hay training dummies for his punches and kicks. His grandmother blamed these violent tendencies on his overly competitive nature and tried to ban him from doing it. His father just sighed and ignored her, blaming his need for attention as a middle child. Renji said fuck you guys, very much under his breath and far far away from his grandmother's eerily sharp hearing, and left as soon as his younger siblings were old enough to take over his responsibilities on the farm.

Background: Via doesn't tell much about herself - where she came from or wherever she was 'born'. As a spirit, she was quite skilled in the magical arts. However, she does express why she had joined a Familia. Naturally curious about the Dungeon at Rezion, she decided to make her way there. She had, of course, considered on going to Orarion, but decided against it at the last second because Rezion was closer. Upon getting there, she found out that to get inside, she needed to be in a familia. There was quite a number of Gods and Goddesses who were recruiting, but she made her way to the wealthiest one there - Kagu-Tsuchi. Via always loved the art of bartering and being a merchant, so she decided that he was the best familia for her.

As a person, Via is rather charming and kind. Helpful too. However, she is also a merchant above all else. She will try and make a profit from everything she can do. Via has heard of supporters, and planned on being one for the most part of her stay with the familia.

Background:
Many people know of or have heard the tales of the Nereid, or so they believe. They say that they Nereid are the 50 daughters of Nereus and Doris comprising of beautiful maidens whom accompany the god Poseidon helping sailors and those at sea. It is however always neglected to mention the sons that too accompany Poseidon. Just as humans come in many races and places so too do the Undine, and Magi Mare is one of Nereid origin. It is of course to no ones surprise that once given the opportunity to not only accompany Poseidon's side, in his wish to denounce his godly powers in order to live amongst the mortals, but to also become an adventurer for his Familia that Magi Mare gladly accepted the role and became an adventurer.

Being a being of the sea and having only the most admiration for his god, Magi wears his Familia's title with great pride. He is determined to show the others just how outstanding his god can be as well as his blessings. It is due to this sense of pride that Magi tends to attempt the harder floors for himself proving to be a bit reckless in the name of gaining strength for his god. Though mainly a dedicated dungeon crawler, Magi does tend to be quite fun and enthusiastic when around the right people.

Name: May Corwel

Background: Born to an incredibly poor family on the outskirts of Rezion, May spent the majority of her youth either foraging for food on the streets, working as a bar maid in the Barrel's edge, or spending time at the local library. She was an only child, and both her and her parents were homeless. Supporting the family was her major concern, and on several nights, she slept in the public library in order to avoid the streets.

While she originally only visited for a roof over her head, May quickly became enamored with both the library, and the old man who acted as the librarian. He was crotchety, rough - almost abrasive. But despite his rude words, he did care for those around him. He only complained slightly whenever she slept in the old building, only shaking her awake if he cooked a meal for her. Eventually, May even began an education - the older man taught her to read, always was ready to help. In return, May was always willing to help restock books, and made herself useful. The man even snuck her a book on basic magical theory for her birthday. The pair had spent time together for years and May, once a poor street girl, was steadily learning healing magic and had a decent career planned as a doctor.

The librarian, the man responsible for this, died peacefully in his sleep. He passed due to an illness, easily treatable with a good elixir. In his will, he left the library, and all of it's contents, to May - the girl who treasured it the most.

With a place for her and her parents to live in, May grew to idolize wealth. Had she possessed enough wealth, perhaps she could have saved the man that saved her and her family. She quickly turned this idolization into an obsession - she wished to have more money than anyone, enough to buy anything she could ever need or want. To this end, she elected to join the Isis familia - while not the strongest or wealthiest, it matched her talents the best. And people were always willing to pay for their life.

Personality: May is an incredibly kind girl who was raised in circumstances that demanded toughness. As such, she is usually one of the kindest people around - she is polite, always offers support, and refuses to hurt people. This changes drastically whenever money is involved.

When she thinks she has the chance to make quick cash, May uses dirty tactics, blackmail, and is perfectly fine with charging for her healing services. While this will never happen in the tower, she is a nightmare to split loot with. This behavior is not present when dealing with people who are poor or do not have any money, and May actively tries to improve the conditions of these people.

Background:

Klou's actions have always been at odds with her appearance and personality. She speaks slowly with half lidded eyes, but is quick to action and moves deceptively well. While talking, she seems to have no drive, but she dedicates herself wholeheartedly to both alchemy and adventuring. She seems to have no close friends, but will save anyone, no matter who, often waiving payment altogether if necessary.

The earliest of Klou's memories come from after she arrived in Rezion, having no money, no home and her only clothes ragged and dirty. She remembers sitting in an alley as rain fell, soaking her to the bone, and watching people pass by oblivious and unseeing. With no idea where she was or why she was there, she may have sat there in the rain until hunger drove her to theft if one stranger didn't happen to glance in her direction and see her. That stranger took her to his home, fed her, found her clothing and treated her various cuts and bruises with alchemy. She later found out that the stranger was a member of Isis' Familia, and that it was only with the help of his goddess that he was able to help her in turn. From that moment, Klou decided she would do whatever it took to repay that stranger and his goddess, and came to study under him as an apprentice. It quickly became apparent that she had a natural talent for alchemy, or perhaps a deep, ingrained knowledge left over from before she lost her memories. She quickly picked up the basics of the craft and was accepted into the Familia. After her first skill check, Klou decided she wouldn't only follow the practice of Alchemy, but also the path of an Adventurer, delving into the dungeon for ingredients and the experience she suddenly craved.

Noctis

Name: Noctis Haeshi

Background: The name Haeshi is well known throughout Rezion by both adventurer and entrepreneur, with the wealthy family holding a sizable portion of the city's estate and land in the palm of their hand. Preferring not to sully their hands with the arduous task of clearing dungeon floors in order to garner both Valis and influence, they instead do business with aspiring craftsmen and women from the various Familias, buying and selling product to Rezion's starry-eyed adventurers. As such, the Haeshis do a great deal of business with the Kagu-Tsuchi and Isis Familias, sometimes outright investing in up and coming smiths and alchemists.

It was unto this wealthy and powerful name that Noctis was born, as the youngest of 6 children. His family ensured that neither he nor his siblings ever went without. However, his parents brought up so many children in order to find the next heir to their fortune. As such, Noctis was constantly forced to compete against his siblings for superiority in all manner of things. The heir to the Haeshi name had to be perfect, and so Noctis strove for greatness, though time and time again he would always fall short of his competing siblings. Every time he would acomplish a feat of his own, his brothers and sisters made certain to steal his thunder by outdoing him. Worse yet, they knew that they were better than him, and so he was mocked and taunted upon each and every failure, with the ever increasing pressure of his parents constantly looming over the young Noctis's head.

One day, his eldest brother made a choice quite questionable, he left to join a Familia and explore the depths of Rezion's dungeon. It wasn't long before he'd built himself a reputation there as well as a great and fearless adventurer. In truth, Noctis was quite jealous of his brother always being good at whatever he attempted. Why couldn't he for once meet with failure instead of automatic success?

Noctis would swiftly come to regret his own thoughts, as soon news spread of his brother's demise in the dungeon. At the funeral, all he could think of was the dungeon itself. How did it's nefarious inhabitants so easily bring down his nigh-perfect brother? What sorts of horrid monstrosities dwelled inside? Even after the memorial service had concluded and weeks passed by, thoughts of the dungeon still invaded Noctis's focus. Something deep inside him desired to adventure, and at this point Noctis would do anything to prove his worth. His parents however... were not pleased whatsoever with his sudden resolve. The dungeon had already taken one of their nearly-perfect children, and now the weakest amongst the rest dared to challenge it? They declared that he was no son of theirs, and that Noctis was unworthy of even his name, he was summarily disowned and kicked out of his own home in an instant.

Stripped of his family and with no place to go, Noctis went off to join Anubis's Familia. He'd heard that they were second only to Athena, and he thought he might be able to fit in with them, he knew quite alot about having to play second fiddle... Who knows? Maybe he would be good at something after all...

Personality: Noctis is what one would describe as seemingly reserved at first, appearing quite shy and almost passive. Once he's competing with somebody else though, the shy demeanor disappears and the hot-headed show-off underneath is revealed, as he desperately tries to prove his worth. Noctis is a person controlled by his emotions most of the time, though that is not to say the he is incapable of planning out a situation. He has developed an inferiority complex due to his treatment by his parents and siblings, and as such he is incredibly harsh on himself. Failure is not something that the boy takes lightly, and he will beat himself up over such errors for quite some time. As his upbringing suggests,Noctis is obsessed with perfection in all things. Leading him to frequently attempt "No-hit" runs of the dungeons labyrinthine floors.

Despite the fact that he was disowned by his parents, Noctis is still a Haeshi through and through, and thus he is very quick witted. He is not above using manipulation to get what he wants, and he does possess a small degree of charisma to assist him in doing so. He prefers to let others make the first move, before attempting to seize the advantage for himself, whether dealing with combat, conversation, or trading.

His trust is very difficult to gain, though once someone has earned it, he'll back them up til the very end. He won't hesitate to speak his mind if given the chance, and he occasionally gets overzealous about his positions on certain matters.
