For clarification, the way I see the Atlanteans in this DC Universe we've crafted varies between the two kingdoms. The grunt soldiers for Poseidonis look like the Atlantis grunts in the animated Flashpoint Paradox film.



While the armies of Xebel rely more on water constructs and more traditional looking Aquaman styled armors.



Here's a quick scene of all three in action against a Navy sized war ship. The grunts, the water benders of Xebel [Aqualad I and II] as well as the mystic stuff with Orm/Ocean Master. Attitude wise Orm would be more like the Flashpoint Aquaman here.



It should be noted their armies are great in number and their tech and mystic advantages are numerous. In the clip the Navy even had metahumans on it's side and were still not match. Take into account we'll also be dealing with giant kaiju sized crab monsters and sea creatures this is as big as you guys wanna make it.

True. But that is usually against one and from surprise. This is likely the entire US Naval Force - plus, as we see in the clip. Regular human weaponry, in this case, simple pistols can take-out Atlanteans. Now imagine if you're armed with weapons, and equipment designed to demolish tanks.

Plus, I do believe in having the limit of 'normal tech resistant vs getting beaten by fist' - so they can be advanced, but not too much, that getting fist-cuffed down doesn't seem out of reach.

Finally finished him. I took a few guesses at where his comic is going for a few characters and made him experienced about 3 years or so. If anyone needs a supersuit, check out his supporting characters section. His bestie/love interest is a former cosplay enthusiast turned superhero outfitter ala Edna Mode from the Incredibles films.

He’s from Gotham, rifts just about anywhere as a hero. He also operates in San Francisco with the Titans.

Day Job:
Student at East Gotham Technical Institute

Powers:
Strength - he can lift 7-10 tons [roughly 20k pounds max].
Speed/Agility - also above average, but also due to being a parkour enthusiast.
Rifting – Derek can create rifts in space/time and teleport anywhere he can think of as well as cross into the Multiverse, Dark Multiverse, and the spaces in between.

Weaknesses:
He can be physically overpowered and is vulnerable to the same things as any human would be in a light body armor suit. Outside of his suit, smaller arms fire doesn’t bother him as much as anything high powered and knives can still do damage. He’s meant to be flawed somewhat in the same ways as Spider-man. He’s human and vulnerable.

Skills:
He’s good with computers and most modern tech. Knows waaaay too much about tv and movies as well as music. His powers make him stealthy when it’s needed. Anything else he just Google’s or watches a YouView video on it.

BRIEF Bio:
During the Justice League’s discovery of the Dark Multiverse some years earlier, 16 year old Derek James fell into an opening into the space between universes. Four days later he woke up with powers allowing him to teleport anywhere he could think of. After coming into contact with the Fuginauts, Derek learned of the Multiverse, the Dark Multiverse, and the space in between called the Hypertime Membrane. Derek would face a dark matter creature from the Dark Multiverse similar in a way to Marvel’s Venom symbiote, however it would consume and manipulate half of Darkstar Science’s staff including their CEO. After a war with Sideways, Batman, and other allies from Gotham the Fuginauts stepped in to help eliminate the Dark Matter’s presence, or so they thought.

After the Dark Matter managed to corrupt one Fuginaut it took nearly all of them and began destroying worlds in the Multiverse and Dark Multiverse. Now only Tempus remains after Sideways cornered them in a dark universe that Tempus destroyed.

Now after having the weight of two Multiverses thrust onto his shoulders in a three year period, Derek focuses on getting grounded back in his universe and joins the Titans after Batman offers him a steady income while attending school.

Story Arcs:
Titans – Sideways is still a big dork and blown away at the chance to work with Batman once again. Most of his arcs will be with the Titans but I might tell a solo story once in awhile. (Titans Missions)

Return of Replicant – The power thief returns after Sideways thought the villain’s use of the rifting power had killed him years prior. However now… he’s powered by Dark Matter. (Team-Up)

Supporting Characters:
Batman, cause Derek lives in Gotham and he’s also a member of Batman’s Titans.
Ernestine Edgars, at 19 years old she’s become the Edna Mode of the DCU and creates looks for several heroes now. Still a potential love interest for Derek but she’s become her own shining star thanks to Sideways.
Replicant, Derek’s first metahuman enemy now also powered by the Dark Matter.

Primary Character: the Comet

Additional Notes: I’ve got a character now on both teams and I’ll be taking a more hands on approach and taking the teams forward and getting missions going and storylines and such. Building towards some big stuff with others’ characters and now I’d like to do that with the teams with Atlantis Attacks and other larger crossover stories.

As a tribute to the late Steve Ditko who sadly passed away today, I've decided to try my hand at writing the classic version of the Question, as written by him. Keep in mind, this is completely non-canon to the events of the RP.

They're lowlife scum corrupting his fair city.

He's the righteous man putting an end to their schemes.

"The only reason you live is because I don't feel like getting blood on my gloves," the righteous man says, pressing his faceless visage against the terrified face of one of the criminals. "I will not end your life personally. But I will set you on the fast track to the electric chair. You and your friends have proven that you all desire to take a seat in it."

He drops the man as though a child discarding a broken toy, gracelessly, carelessly. The motion makes no effort to hide the faceless man's disdain of the other and his kind. "I don't think you know who I am. But you and your kin will learn to fear me. You will know that I am watching your every step. That I am plotting your downfall. And when you lay awake at night in fear, know that I am watching, just as I always do."

He moves along, gesticulating with his hands as he continues to speak. "'Why,' you might ask, 'why is he doing this to us? Who did we wrong? What did we do?' The answer to that question then, is another: 'why do you refuse righteousness? Why do you choose to hurt the innocent? Why do you not follow the law?' And those questions have no simple answers either. But no matter your reasons for choosing a life of crime, you have fully embraced evil."

The faceless man pauses in his monologue, turning to face the criminal he's lecturing. "The world is absolutes. There is evil and good. Black and white. A is A. And just as A is A, a criminal is a criminal. And just as a criminal is a criminal, a good man is a good man. And good men will no longer stand idly by as evil men make mockeries of the judicial system and pervert the public. Evil must be punished.

"In the end, I believe that you will thank me. For in your last moments when the electricity fries your brain and the evil within it, you will be left with only the good in it, and with your last thought you will realize that this was for the best. Now you cannot hurt anyone else. Now, there is less evil in this world. Now, I finally know the answers to the questions."

The vigilante dug something out of the pocket of his suit, and looked down at it. "I leave with you a gift. Something to answer your final question: who is this man?"

He drops the item, a plain white business card, which begins to emit smoke. Walking away without looking back, the man is long gone by the time the smoke clears, giving way to a bold, yellow question mark.
