Robert then looks to the lizard person as he lets the goat-like creature off his head and proceeded to pluck a flower off it. "Blackberries are...well, remember the small weird bumpy fruits I brought with me last time you accompanied me hunting? Like those but colored like your scales." Robert paused. "Which reminds me, I really ought to buy some groceries for the week." He muttered to himself before his scaly friend offered him the flower. He hesitated at first but if Mirik was able to eat it, then he was about 62% sure that it was safe for consumption.

Robert smiled at first as the sweet flavors of the petal spread over his tongue but then scrunched his face slightly as he tasted a hint of wet animal fur. It was a delightful experience nonetheless.

He observed the large reptilian humanoid stand and explain to the local priest that he was basically a shaman as well as a scout for his tribe to look for potential friends or discover new enemies. The young deputy smiled and patted the lizard person's shoulder...even if he had to tip-toe to reach said shoulder. "Good job, buddy." Congratulating him for mostly keeping to Common despite his inexperience using it. The Sarcogan war priest then looks down to him and asks him something. "Ah, no worries Mirik. Mayor Dustwallow should be in town hall working...or if our lucky stars are with us, we won't even need to look and she'll find us." Robert reassured him.

Hillhaven Main Road - Outside Hillside Haven Inn

"Cannot believe ye'nt never gone to th' Inn yet. Yer'n the frontier now Ba Ba, time t' start charging hexes for booze 'n such." Cresta blasted out words as her horse steadily galloped closer to the wooden social hub of their little town.

"Ya'notta'needing to be worried'about me- I'm olda'dan most of'tes pink children anyway." The elder shamaness hissed back to the mayor, her sights shifting towards some of the faces outside.

The talk between the two would come to an abrupt halt as they finally reached the post at the Inn's entrance however. Sliding off the side of the noble steed- the mayor would be the first to freeze at the sight of the large humanoid reptile standing beside one of her deputies. Her jaw dropped straight to floor at the strange creature, it wasn't something she had ever seen before in all of her travels. In the back of her head the word "Monster!" echoed for a bit, in all of her years of travel she had never heard of or seen such a creature. It took her breath away, but she wasn't quite sure exactly sure if that surprise was positive or negative yet.

It wasn't until the orc shamaness spoke up that the mayor started to have a clear head. "Ah-da-gwa never'av I seen somtin like that. Whata'ara'ya you'fine creatcha'."

The humongous orc woman slowly stepped up to the creature, ignoring the townsfolk around it and staring with wide glossy brown eyes with a scratch of her furry chin. She inspected the lizardman carefully, the muscular proportions- all the way down to the shape of his head. "Thatta wondaful'skulla'ma have to get me'ona'dem." while Cresta filled her lungs with the clean air before breathing it out. She paced up to the group, removing her hat and offering them a cant of her head before greeting the ones she knew- not the strange lizard creature.

"G'day y'all, Sheriff, Vera. I planned on makin' way round'ere before nightfall 'n spected to have'n few rounds with ya'. But 'm my years I'd never think some'n strange would show'er self in my Town. Maybe a dragon gettin' lost 'long its way. But 'n my years I've never seen som'n like that before." Cresta's words held a stern tone to each drawl of her voice, her eyes weren't quite angry- but she stared through everyone and directly to the new townsfolk that had seemingly invited itself into her town. Her hand absentmindedly drifted to the holster at her right hip, and then she looked to her Sheriff. Her head raised to look over him, clearing her throat before asking as politely as her passive-aggressive self could.

"Care ta' splain this, Sheriff." She stepped up to him, her posture straightening.

"Good morning to you too, Mayor, and very good question indeed." Robert paused for a moment before extending one of his gloved hands towards the lizard man as if to display him to the mayor. Robert would then speak with the same enthusiasm as a salesman would presenting his prized snake oil cure-all product. "Miss Mayor Cresta Dustwallow, have I some news for you. This is Mirik, a fine specimen of the lizardfolk race, or Sarcogan in his native tongue. He is what they call a war-priest, his role is to scour the lands and investigate potential threats or, more importantly, potential friends to his tribe. Now you may be wondering, 'How in all the stars in the sky did the Deputy meet him?' Well, I met him a week or so after I had arrived in Hillhaven. He saved me from some dastardly beast that was about to do me in and, believe me, it was horrid." Robert shuddered at the memory. He then lays a gloved hand on the lizardman's shoulder and gives him a firm pat on the back. "Mirik saved my life back then and we've been friends since. I've been teaching him to speak like us and he'd been showing me hunting techniques and the best places to hunt. Sharper than a well-honed fillet knife, he is."

Robert then leaves Mirik's side and approaches the mayor and her mount and kinda whispers to her. "He may look scary but he's a big ol' dark scaly marshmallow. Don't tell him that I told you that, he's kinda conscious about being scary. Hates it almost as much as very loud noises. I learned that when he went bananas and threw my gun away when he and I hunted together for the first time...but I digress." Robert walks away before clearing his throat. "Mayor Dustwallow, Ba Ba, I am pleased to introduce you to our newest Hillhaven resident." He then extends both hands towards Mirik and shakes them wildly to mimic the effect of a sparkler. "Tadaaa!"

Mirik

Mirik was having fun with all these new people, his feelings portrayed more from his wagging tail then his stoic exterior. Two new people then began to approach the crowd as his friend was explaining that the man before him was not in charge but someone called dust wallow. Before he could ask any questions a big green girl human walked up to him and began inspecting him.

The green human was a bit strange but wasn’t bashful at all, even her words were strange and hard for him to pick up on. The other smaller human seemed to keep her distance and just looked at him. At least he was getting used to the staring. “Why Hoooman Green?” he asked while equally examining the other women.

He almost didn’t hear what his friend Rob was saying until he looked over towards him and the other girl that had approached. He was being introduced again he could tell by the gestures or at least that is what he hopped. “Me Mirik, come t-talk weath hoomans.” He seemed to pause again, this being normal to him now with using their language, “Mirik Sarcogan, Mirik help Roooob from smoll slith. Roob Afraid feeeeline.”

Almost on cue with realizing he was talking to the leader by how Robb was talking to her the large lizard quickly pulled his pack around and began digging through it again before pulling something out that was wrapped carefully in some sort of cloth. Mirik was being incredibly carful with it and approached the mayor, once he was within just a few more steps he knelt down to her level and slowly unwrapped it.

What he held was what looked like a small vial made out of some sort of hallowed out crystal or crude glass. Sealed within by a wooden cork was a dark purple and pink liquid. It almost seemed to shimmer in the sunlight, clearly it was special by how carefully he was carrying it. “Gift for leeeeader, this from sacred Spirit treeee. Enough for two. This make sleeppp then see…..” he was trying to think of a way to explain but couldn’t quite find the words. “Make see… mmmmm… See Spirit of past you. talk get answer to questions.” Mirik would stay there and wait for her to accept, giving a slight defensive hiss to anyone else that would try to grab it.
