Name: Ashley "Ash" Parker

Age: 17

Grade: junior

Bio: Ashley is the assistant captain of the varsity volleyball team, a straight-A student, and recently got her driver's license. Before she got her powers, her biggest concerns were who she was going to go to the Valentine's dance with and convincing her parents to let her take her car out past 9pm. She's been trying her best to hide her powers, but hasn't been completely successful. She slammed the gym door hard enough to break it after a particularly frustrating practice yesterday, where she got several volleyballs stuck in the gym's rafters.

Appearance: 5'7 and athletic, Ash isn't the skinniest girl on the team but she's very lean. Her blonde hair is shoulder length with a center part and no bangs, very straight. She has blue eyes, a handful of freckles, and perfectly straight teeth after recently getting her braces off. She rarely wears makeup and dresses mostly in athletic shoes, jeans or leggings with T-shirts, and a hoodie or cap as necessary. Fairly tomboyish, Ash is pretty but doesn't usually give much attention to her appearance.

Personality: Not quiet but not a loudmouth either, Ash is a natural-born leader who isn't afraid to work hard to get what she wants. Although she's bad at sharing her own feelings and weaknesses with others, she's the thoughtful kind of person who always asks her friends how they're doing. She tends to know all of her friends' secrets and crushes, but they rarely know hers.

Gift: Super-strength and durability. Ashley isn't sure exactly how strong she is now, but she lifted her 2015 Ford Explorer last night and doesn't feel sore. Controlling her new strength isn't too hard when she's calm, but as her adrenaline gets going it gets harder for her to hold back.

Name: Leto

Age: 19

Occupation: BSI Special Agent

Bio: Two years ago, Leto was among the first Gifted Freaks taken by the BSI. He cooperated fully with their investigations and experiments, which resulted in nothing useful. Desperate to please them and get out of his cell, he's agreed to use his powers to help them capture other kids like him. He's been on several missions now and is a very valuable asset to his team, although they still don't trust him and refuse to remove the collar that allows them to track his position and deliver incapacitating electric shocks as needed.

Appearance: With little else to do in his cell for two years, Leto became extremely physically fit. He has a buzz cut, a permanent but sparse 5 o'clock shadow, and a nearly permanent frown on his face. Standing at 6'2 with very little body fat, he's a very intimidating figure in his plain black suit despite the obvious collar around his neck marking him as BSI property.

Personality: Leto was always a serious young man. He aspired to follow in his deceased father's footsteps and enlist in the military right out of high school, and was on track to do exactly that when he became a Freak. He tried to hide and deny his powers, but when the BSI investigated his school he was discovered and taken away. He cooperated with them from the start, but when they failed to find a cure and ran out of tests to run he was left alone in his cell for months. Desperate to get out by any means, he worked hard to prove himself and be accepted into the BSI. It hurts him deeply that they won't trust him and make him a real agent without a collar and a handler, but that only makes him work harder to prove himself.

Gift: Leto has the ability to make spherical force fields that are nearly indestructible as long as he actively maintains them. Their maximum diameter is around ten meters, and he can make smaller force fields within thirty meters of his body. Although he can't move them once they're generated, he can choose whether or not air and sound can penetrate the barrier. Though this power is mostly useful for self-defense, he's also been able to use it offensively by creating a small force field around someone's face which is impermeable to air, suffocating them.

Name: Karen Daniels

Age: 43

Occupation: English Teacher

Bio: Karen is a middle-aged mother of three who became a teacher in honor of a very influential teacher saved her life during high school. Determined to return the favor, she has always had an open door and listening ear policy for kids going through major trouble at home. With the Freak situation worsening, she made a contact at a teaching convention who claims they can help Gifted teenagers hide from the law. She kept this person's business card, hoping she would never need to pass it along - but now the day has come, and she wants to help her kids stay safe and free.

Appearance: Chubby and bubbly, Karen has messy dark-brown curls that are starting to show a few greys and a warm, asymmetrical smile. She usually wears long hippie-style dresses in tie dye or other bright colors, but on casual fridays she can be found in jeans and a T-shirt featuring a classic rock band. She usually smells like incense and tries her best to rock the "cool teacher" vibe.

Personality: A very caring and free-spirited person, she thinks Karen jokes are hilarious and includes lots of memes in her materials to try and keep her students interested. To her, education is less important than mental health and she does her best to make all of her students feel cared for. Although she recognizes the danger that a bunch of teenagers with powers can pose, she disagrees strongly with the BSI and the government's attitude towards Gifted teens in general. Although the topic was very taboo at the last teaching convention she went to, she did manage to find a few teachers with similar opinions who are trying to form a sort of modern underground railroad.

Bio: Alex comes from a wealthy family, his father is in the real estate business and his mother is a well known lawyer. Alex loves to spend their money, he wears the latest fashions that are hip, drives fancy sports cars, plays golf in Scotland, has lunch in a small cafe in Paris, even climbed the highest mountain in the world six times,but nobody ever seen him do it, because he can change into Animals.

Bio: Celine is close with her mother- she has never known her father. He left before she was born. She is healthy, smart and optimistic. She and her mom are middle-class and comfortable.
Appearance: Celine has short brown hair that comes to about her chin. She has green eyes and often wears headphones with a white noise sound in them. She wears vintage clothes or jeans/t-shirts most days. She collects scarfs and wears them as an accessory to match her outfit. She often wears Chuck Taylors and carries a small blue backpack.
Personality: Celine is very timid and shy. She used to be very outgoing but she has had multiple incidents of screaming when things got too loud for her. She now keeps to herself. Typically, she can be found reading about history, music, or art.

Name: Lucas Ross

Bio: Lucas Ross is an orphan living with Foster parents Theo and Amaretta Jackson. His birth parents had left him at the doorstep of a local firehouse and eventually he found himself shuffling about the system. He wasn’t a bad kid, on the contrary he was a very quiet and meek boy, which is why he found himself being exploited by the man he’d been living with when his powers emerged. That had been a tough year, and in the end his guardian had abandoned him once he’d gotten everything he wanted. Social services never knew the details of his time with that man, and Lucas had been too afraid to talk about it. Theo and Amaretta had been a Godsend. The two of them were older, if not quite elderly, and had years of experience with stubborn youths. They’ve only spent a summer with him, but Lucas was beginning to open up to them, whether he likes it or not!

Appearance: Lucas is a thin boy, Caucasian, raven haired with deep blue eyes that are half hidden behind a pair of large round glasses. His skin is often pale nfrom lack of regular sunlight exposure. A sedentary lifestyle has left him physically average, though his legs are fit due to his daily walks to and from school. He prefers denim shorts or pants, sneakers, and pullover hoodies that have varying lengths of sleeves depending on the weather. He is literally never seen without an odd old smart watch that appears heavily modified.

Personality: The boy is a loner that prefers to sit quietly and people watch. His standoffish behavior and blunt analyses of observations can sometimes be misread as rudeness. Because there are so few people he actually cares for, he is viciously protective of them. The trauma of his past has instilled a fear in Lucas that makes him reluctant to utilize his gift, and he often finds his own traitorous mind calling himself a Freak.

Gift: Technoturge: Like the Thaumaturgists of old who performed miracles with “magic” a Technoturge can perform near-miracles with almost any form of technology. With this gift any broken tech can be repaired with time and the right materials, no matter how severe the damage. Coding and programming languages come easily. The downside is that Technoturges tend to have less understanding of the chaotic nuances of the human condition, making it difficult to socialize.

Name: Kasumi Tamaki

Bio:
Moving to other continent is not always easy. Kasumi had to adapt for two things, being a foreigner herself, pure Japanese, and someone with a "gift". Luckily, even though Kasumi spent her childhood in Fukuoka, she was born here in the US. That made her a citizen with the same right as her current fellow schoolmates in Nemoton High. Her father's international business had familiarized Kasumi with english language in her daily communication within her family. Kasumi had no problem at all in speaking with her new friends at school.

Kasumi left Japan after she graduated from middle school, with perfect scores, due to her father being promoted into a strategic position in his company's headquarter. While being a junior-grade student herself, Kasumi had only attended Nemoton for one year due to the difference of the grading level between US and Japan. Being the only one with the black belt, the school Karate Club quickly accepted her as one of their own. Though Kasumi initially had some difficulty as she practiced a different, non-olympic style of Karate, the club chairman was quite open-minded that he allowed her to assist the club practice.

Appearance:
Kasumi is recognizable with her long black hair. A pair of eyes with black-colored iris fit really well with typical Japanese facial features. Kasumi is quite petite in stature with her slim hourglass build, with 5'3 in height and weighing around 99 lbs. Her choice of fashion is rather modest and practical, with collared shirt, cotton pants, and sneakers being the usual pieces of clothing she wears.

Kasumi is an adventurous soul, eager to face new experiences that might challenge the status quo. Even so, she's quite attentive to details and loves to make plans before doing anything. She finds more comfort in contemplating or having private exercise sessions than in parties or hangouts with her fellow friends. One might guess that Kasumi doesn't usually make friends, but when she does, her friendship and loyalty last very long and deep. Among her friends whom Kasumi has been quite open, it is agreed that Kasumi's true beauty might lie in her confidence and optimism.

Kasumi had always been able to maintain her stamina, with incredible regenerative speed and muscular performance, beyond most of normal human of her age. Even with her petite and seemingly weak stature, she was able to perform incredible techniques in the martial art she practiced with an immense amount of power. This enabled her to attain her black belt during her teenage year and to gain respect from her peers of martial artists. She thought that this was because of a certain breathing technique she practiced, while actually this was caused by a special factor on how her body had always been able to gather energy from nature. Every time she did this, Kasumi felt a pleasant warm sensation filled her stomach and spread toward her entire body.

Name: Maximilian Sean MacDowell

Bio: Max was born in Boston, in his youth he lived with his mother because his parents had divorced when he was young. As a kid was not very popular with other children his age, because of his anger issues and lack of social cues. This made his childhood quite lonely, he used his time alone to take singing classes and guitar lessons. As a teenager he had gained a small tight knit group of friends. However there are times where he likes to keep to himself. His dream is to finish high school and make it big as a punk rocker.

Personality: Max is a rough and tough kind of person, Not caring about what people think of him. Nor how tough a person thinks they are, Max is not one to back down from a fight, Especially when it is against someone he dislikes or being a bully. He has a tough guy personality, Breaking the rules when needed and not giving a crap about what people think of him. Also being friendly but that is mainly reserved for his friends and people he finds he can respect, He only respects people that he finds strong or resilient.

Max does have a softer side but he barely shows it, Mostly because he does not want to look weak. Mostly showing this side towards his family and especially towards his father. Having a strong sense of justice against people who are wronging others. He is also deeply religious and superstitious, Being a hardcore Roman Catholic.

Name: Kludd Wolvenbloed-Voll
Age: 18
Grade: senior

Bio: First-generation Norwegian-American, Kludd’s parents came to America shortly after earning their first college degrees. Brynhild went on to pursue a master's and doctorate, while Runar began working as a special education teacher at an elementary school. Although they hadn’t planned to have kids so soon, in the first year of her doctorate, Brynhild gave birth to Kludd and his twin Endre. Both children had congenital abnormalities, resulting in Kludd being born without the lower portion of one of his legs.
From early childhood, it was very apparent that he was very intelligent though. He started reading very early on and loved going to school to learn. This attitude seemingly has never left, as he is an almost straight-A student in all advanced courses. Other than a busy schedule of schoolwork and extracurriculars, life was pretty normal. His family being Norse pagan, magic was always something familiar. But when he started to experiment with it personally, he was quick to discover that his sigils had a bit more of a visible effect. And thus his gift was uncovered.

Appearance: Standing at a full 6’10” and far from thin, Kludd is simply put, a massive human being. He has dark brown hair and pale blue eyes, and an average white person skin tone with lots of freckles. He has a below-the-knee prosthetic on one leg, but usually wears pants to avoid drawing attention to it. Generally, his style is mostly emo. He has several piercings, and also often lets his girlfriend (Chantara) paint his nails.

Personality: Kludd is a huge sweetheart, always being considerate of others. Especially his friends, who he is always willing to bend over backward to help out. Very intelligent, schoolwork and learning have always come easy to him. He tends to retain this info as well, but as for simple facts, those things can get lost on him. Where he put his keys, what day of the week it is, when his friends' birthdays are… All easily forgotten amongst the random trivial knowledge rattling around in his head.
He is also a major worrier and often attempts to escape the reality of how bad the world is by working extremely hard on every little project he takes on. It's hard for him to relax and to sleep. He always feels a need to be doing something, his calendar always full. It's a constant struggle just trying to get him to take a break.

Gift: Sigil Creation- By drawing specific sigils, he can get a limited range of effects. The effect, duration, etc. are all variable. Generally, he has to test them out first to ensure they work as intended. Because of natural curiosity, he already has developed several, mainly wards or protection charms. Most sigils can be drawn on the skin in order to give certain boosts to a person. Or in part of a space to influence that. Generally, the more powerful an effect or longer duration, the more complex or larger the sigil must be, thus the more obvious it is or the longer it takes to draw.

Chantara

Name: Chantara Saetang
Age: 18
Grade: Senior
Bio: Chantara had a relatively normal childhood; she never knew her mother, but doesn't really have an itching to seek her out, she had a stable, if slightly distant relationship with her father, and an older step-brother who Chantara still isn't sure she understands completely, despite growing up with him all her life.

Needless to say, with her reckless attitude, she fell in with a rough crowd of kids in her teenage years. Leaving that circle was hard for her to do, as cutting people out of your life can often be, but Chantara found that it was necessary. When she looks back at it now, Chantara can only fathom what would have happened if she never left.
Appearance: Chantara is a petite southeast asian girl standing at only 5'2. She has tanned light brown skin, straight black hair, and dark brown eyes. She has wide hips for her stature but small chest. Her hair goes down past her shoulder blades. She dresses in a chic street fashion most of the time.

Personality: Chantara tends to be casual and lighthearted in most situations. She’s very outgoing and talkative, and isn’t picky about who her friends are. She’s a big fan of using humour to lighten the mood, but sometimes her carefree attitude can put her at odds with more serious types, who might find her to be superficial.

As much as she talks, she tends to calculate which words she uses carefully- making it difficult for others to catch her off guard or find any misinterpretations in her words (Unless she’s deliberately trying to get you to misinterpret what she’s saying). Getting her to be completely honest and open about deeper topics and emotions can be a challenge, as those conversations tend to make her feel uncomfortable and fenced in. However, she also realizes that conversations like that are necessary from time to time, especially if she wants others to trust her.

Gift:Innate Capability: Chantara can sometimes do things without having prior knowledge or experience with the subject at hand. Examples would include knowing how to fix a phone, pick a lock, perform surgery or anything else that would normally require prior experience or teaching beforehand.

Her aptitude is generally sporadic however, and most of the time the feelings are really just “hunches” felt in the moment. Once they pass she no longer understands how to do or perform the skills she exhibited while using her powers.
