Well, this looks fun.

Name: Len Nakiya
Age: 29
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Appearance: A tall, slender woman, with short and black straight hair stopping at her shoulders. She wears a billowing green kimono with a wide skirt and sleeves longer than her arms, whilst wearing simple wooden sandals. A small steel flask of wine is strapped at her waist, and cloth rags are wrapped around her hands.
Profession: Martial Artist.
Personality: She is a vain, self-centered person, all while keeping up a screen of good manners and appearances. She is arrogant, and perfectly willing to demonstrate her skills. A long time ago, she was rich, and she still believes herself to be above commoners, going so far as to avoid touching them whenever possible, only ever helping them out of self-interest. In spite of that, she isn't willing to outright insult people, for sake of good manners, preferring a more passive-agressive approach. She is essentially a pretty terrible human being.
Equipment/Weapons: Though she fights with her bare hands mostly, she does keep a set of throwing knives and smokebombs in her sleeves, and often carries a fan with "Purely Decorative" steel spikes on the end.
Abilities: A practitioner of martial arts, she uses a style focused on flying kicks and wild acrobatics, using a little magic to aid her in long jumps and lightly glide over the ground while fighting.
Brief Backstory: The daughter of a paranoid noble, she grew up mostly locked away for her own safety, while being taught to fight properly, alongside her regular education, to prepare her for any would-be assassins. Of which there were none. By the time she came of age, her father had squandered away her familys' money, leaving them deep in debt. She was forced to move to Karstberg, with instructions to pay off the debt somehow.

@evilpooka: Okay, that sounds alright to me. It wasn't the prothestics at this point, it was the admittedly-small detail of the tubes and stuff at the start. ^^; But you seem to understand that medical technology is not that much more advanced in this setting.

Name: Kobayashi Hitomi

Age: 93

Gender: Female

Race: Dark Elf

Appearance: A picture Rin drew for me! Hitomi, however, differs from the picture in one crucial way: she actually has a bust, and a sizeable one at that. Despite considerable exercise and training, she still sticks to the same sort of cooking as her mother--extremely heavy in fat, grease, and deep-fried everything.
She's six feet tall exactly--Dark Elves, despite their underground preferences, aren't that small.

Profession: Paladin of Mayon

Personality: Hitomi is shy and reclusive, preferring to just get a job over and done with rather than have to talk to any of the people she happens to be helping out--in fact, she has developed a somewhat poor habit of sending those she's assigned to help a letter, then getting the bloody stuff over and done with whilst they sleep, thus making it easier for her to work and avoiding the awkward social contact. When she does need to socialise, the dark elf has enough trouble contending with having a lisp, without even factoring in the fact that she outright cannot handle people and would much rather play with children and build block castles, or look after her swords.

Equipment/Weapons: The dual swords whose--translated--names are Life and Death. Life is your normal katana in form and function, though enchanted to give it an unnaturally sharp edge and durability. Death, however, is named not for its effect but its ability to cut through the ephemeral--its function is normally defensive, as this wakizashi can cut through magic to utterly destroy weaker spells and ablate those stronger. However, it is much better against the undead than its bigger twin; it cuts through anything from ghosts to vampires ignoring any protections or armour they might have.

Abilities: Hitomi is a master of wielding two weapons, with her style placing a major emphasis on using one of the blades to not get cut to ribbons, and dodging when a sword cannot defend her. Normally, it would be Death that she uses to parry and block, though she is ambidextrous and skilled enough that it isn't a huge impediment to change which sword that she uses to block when Life is more use as protection than offence.

Brief Backstory: Nearly a century ago, Hitomi was born beneath Akitsushima, in the normal dark elven settlement--a subterranean ranch. Unusually enough, her home was close to the surface, as beef-rearing techniques create a peculiarly delicious cut of meat that was assessed sufficiently delicious enough that hanging around within easy reach of the surface was deemed an acceptable risk and sacrifice. For ten years, Hitomi learned how to rear cattle and other, more exotic, beasts, before finding her true calling as a paladin; even in Akitsushima, dark elves generally refuse to relinquish their beliefs, though many choose to venerate Tsubasa as the semi-divine intermediary between them and Mayon.

Due to its greater facilities, she has found herself in Karstberg over the years, and thus serves in its temple, though she misses the beef of home.

Name: Cassandra Clearwater

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Race: Human

Appearance: Short, messy black hair that always, inexplicably, makes her look like she just woke up 10 minutes ago (she probably did). Her eyes have mastered that "mild hangover" gaze, which is probably the only thing she mastered at university. She wears a huge, brown-and-red patterned poncho, which does absolutely nothing to cover up all the belts/pouches/fanny packs with which she carries a bunch of very sharp (and very cheap-looking) crap. Even the broadsword (err, most of it) is sheathed beneath the ragged fabric. Note that most of that crap isn't battle-worthy, or necessarily supposed to be used for battle, although those are two very distinct categories in Cass's mind. Most of it is scrapmetal or junk she's trying to pawn off.

Profession: Peddler. Claims that she'll be the first theoretical magicist in the world, once it realizes how totally great that would be.

Personality: Normally she's the obnoxious, standoffish deadpan snarker one would expect a disgruntled college student to be. She throws that all out the window the second there's something interesting to talk or fight about, though. She's an investigator at heart - if she doesn't understand something, she'll make sure to fix that.

Equipment/Weapons: Obviously she's got the broadsword, which is (a) very lethal and (b) very heavy. She's not very good with it; she's a skinny, nerdy college student. But she can swing it around and stuff, I dunno, leave her alone. She's got a couple of metal scraps that work well as knives, and also a few real knives, because the only thing better than an inventory of crap it's an inventory of crap ... that protects itself. She also louts around a duffel-bag for anything she finds that is actually worth their weight, like mechanical parts and rarer materials, which in a pinch she can always just throw at someone.

Abilities: Magic. Mostly. See below.

Brief Backstory: Book smart, street dumb. Went to a magical university in the suburbs. Got kicked out a semester later, somewhat because she didn't care about most classes but also because of an unfortunate casserole incident. She was (is) also terrible at magic, that was part of it. Good at the theory, bad at the actual use.

She's trying to scrape out a living peddling in the streets now, which has helped with the "street dumb" aspect a little bit. Her focal interest, however, remains on magic. She's figured out how to get it to work for her.

Magic Name: Velocity Magic

Magic Description: So, when a magician, say, lobs a fireball. There's the actual summoning of the fire, but then there's the actual "move over there and crisp that guy" step. Cass can't do the first bit for crap (not consistently - or safely, at least). But she's figuring out how to only do the second bit instead, effectively creating a magical propulsion system. You know how in Mario Kart there are little rainbow triangles that inexplicably make your kart go faster? She makes those. She's a Boost Mage.

The actual rune created on the ground (which, yes, pretty much looks like a triangle) affects a certain space above it; the size of the space and how much force it creates depends on the ability of the caster. As of now, Cass can shoot objects of up to 150 lbs about ten-fifteen yards at pretty decent speeds (say 40 mph for the smaller stuff).

Eventually, it should be theoretically possible to create a rune that effects whatever it is put on (at least, until the magic wears out). Cass is still working on that.

Name: Adrianna Calabrese

Age: 27

Gender: Female

Race: Human

Appearance: Adrianna is a youthful girl with soft white skin. She has long straight red hair that reaches down to the small of her back. She has a small frame, and stands at a rather average height of 5'3. She is lithe and graceful, and athletically-inclined. Adrianna has a heart-shaped face adorned with deep green eyes. Adrianna has a charming smile with straight white teeth, but often prefers to keep a stern face, probably due to her dark past.

Profession: Master Duelist of the Warrior Guild

Personality: Adrianna is a serious and determined warrior. She has an iron-like resolve and won't give up easily. Adrianna is driven by the goal of finding the person who murdered her family, and will go to great lengths to catch him or her. Adrianna is also rather egotistical, believing that she could probably defeat most in a duel. Despite her negative traits, Adrianna is a loyal friend that will protect those close to her. Adrianna can also be surprisingly nice when she wants to be. She doesn't like to see others suffer and is typically willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. She also has a playful side she only shows to those close to her, sometimes even willing to crack an occasional joke.

Equipment/Weapons: Adrianna's weapon of choice is a sword passed down through her family for many generations. The sword- known by the name 'Kusanagi'- is an ancient artifact recovered from a land far to the east. The sword features a razor-sharp curved blade, renowned for it's strength and cutting ability. Adrianna dons light steel armor that protects against minor impacts while not inhibiting her movement.

Abilities: Adrianna is known to be one of the greatest duelists in Karstberg, and is of course a master swordsmen. She uses an agile and mobile fighting style, relying on overpowering and outsmarting her enemy with swift and unexpected attacks. She is also known for having an exceptional defense which is rarely broken.

Brief Backstory: Adrianna Calabrese is the 14th child of this generation of the Calabrese family. The Calabrese were an influential and rich family of duelists and warriors in Karstberg. At one time Adrianna was one of the potential heiresses of the Calabrese family, but had one of the lowest standings among her large family. Being one of many children Adrianna grew up among many brothers and sisters, who often cared for her instead of her parents. Her father, as the head of the family, was constantly out practicing their family's profession, proving them to be not only the greatest warriors in Kartsberg, but in many lands beyond. Adrianna was also trained in swordsmanship, but was considered the weakest among her brothers and sisters, giving her very small chances of becoming the head of the family. However, soon none of that mattered, as one night the entire Calabrese clan was slain in their sleep by a lone swordsman. Very little is known about the events surrounding the slaughter, but fatefully the only one to survive the murders was Adrianna Calabrese. No one knows why she survived, but she vowed to become a strong swordswoman and kill the one who killed her family. Now she has completed half her goal, being one of the strongest and most respected warriors in the Warriors Guild, all that remains is to find the one that killed her family.

Appearance boots compliment her half black half white dress with gray belt that has a belt pouch. She has black and white tights that are opposite to her dresses pattern. Her hair is black and white and is oppisite as the black side is on your left when looking straight at her front. She has a dagger hidden in one of her boots maybe both. She wears gray gloves that match her peach and cream skin tone and dark brown eyes that stare into your soul.

Personality: Jane is a girl who would betray you at every chance it would put her ehead of the group. She is not one to tell secrets to others. Many have tried and failed to get close to her, few have succeed and those who did regreted it since her emotions are a fireball that shoots out at any one who knows her. She puts on a maskmof happiness over her. Shes the type of girl who doesnt know there beautiful and denies it when its said.

Wepons:The two daggers carved with a crow in them in her boots for one, a smaller hidden blade in a pair of gray gloves she wears. A small bottle of thorns in her pouch.

Abilitys:As her job states she is a assasin and being a assasin means having a certain set of skills. These skills include a set of martial arts, dagger training and a vast knollage of acrobatics.

Bio:Most of janes past is unknown. her birth day is July 6 but her birth year is unknown as the rest of her life though she may talk about situations she's been in but doesnt say dates what she does tell about her past is below.

Born into the usual lower class family Jane grew up on almost nothing. Her family was so wronged in every way by everyone. At the market people would raise there prices when her family came round. Was it their way of getting back at her father. Mother left when she was three with twin younger brothers who were always causing trouble somewhere. Her older sister left to be with some prince or duke she didn't care or wanted to know. Father drunken, this was the time she cared for her brothers and grew this shelter around her life. Soon becoming just another face in the crowd.

Her first job was in a market stall selling hot buns or rolls. She liked this job because she had a meal when she got there. At the moment she was just the ragged girl behind the counter selling buns. At home she was making a pair of gray boots to fit her feet. Jane was different while other girls had blond, brown or black hair she had a weird half black half white hair that was straight and never held a curl.

The next job she had was a maid to some high class citizen that job didn't last long as it was a summer job to earn money to pay for two carved daggers and a pair of gray gloves with hidden blades. In this time of her life her father past away leaving her nothing but a note to take care of her self at all costs.

A shady man came up to her one day with a offer, she learn to become a assassin and take mission from cupcakes citizens and she would be played well in the job. So she trained with this man learning everything a assassin should know. She doesn't like to talk about her jobs much so she didn't tell me the rest.
