Its been three years since the Battle of New York. Three years since the earth's greatest heroes cam and fought back an alien army. And 6 months after that, Tony Stark chose to leave his suit behind and live a time of piece... But only months after his retirement, he thought that he may not be fit for the job.. but others could. People who have shown more heroic deeds than he ever would have. So he created suits, took funds out of his billions of dollars from Stark Industries, and created a school to recruit these modern day heroes, and teach them everything about the suits, and how to operate them. There is only a selected few who have this honor, each giving their own talents and skills. Not one suit is the same. The students will not only learn how to fight, but fight as a team. They will be assigned groups, each with teams of their own. And at the end of their teachings, they can go out and save the world from anything in its way.

RULES:
1) You cannot be over powered. You can't have every ability. Just one
2) Don't be a jerk
3)No causing random explosions or attacks without asking me. Causing random stuff cuts off the story most of the time.
4) Everyone as a student will wear this shirt as a uniform. Uniform

Name: Todd Reynolds
Age: 25
Appearance:
Suit Nickname: Retro
Suit Appearance:
Years Attended TSA: 2 years, one of the first students
Bio: I was born into a military family. I was born in Fort Benning, so i was destined to be an Army Ranger. I always had leadership traits when i was little. I was captain of most sports teams i was one. Basketball, Football, Swimming, you name it. So i went to West Point at 18, and graduated as a captain. My squad and i deployed whenever we needed to be... one of the places was The Battle of New York... My squad and I went through the city, helping the Avengers take out most of the aliens... While my team was helping hostages escape, a squad of aliens came out of nowhere and ambushed us. Instead of telling them to retreat, i told them we leave when everyone is safe... I lost every one of my men. And in a mad frenzy, i killed off the aliens that remained from that ambush.

I woke up in a hospital, saying the aliens were gone, and what happened... I got a special visitor that day. Tony Stark made an apperance. He looked like he was a client as well. He had a weird look in his eye. I couldn't quite explain it. He told me what i did was impressive. And he didn't say that often.. A month later i went back to my family, it was only my mom and sister now. Often times i will wake up screaming, or in a cold sweat, or just crying... People who trusted me lost their lives because of my decisions... I would never forgive myself for that. A few months after that, Mr. Stark came to my home, inviting me to join a school meant to teach people how to use his creations. He said my leadership would be very much welcome at TSA... I was reluctant at first, but then accepted.

I was one of the first students to attend. But after a few months more showed up... I love it here. I love the people, the enviornment, and my suit. Retro was a prototype, it didnt really have any large advantage, but i connected with it immediately. The only upgrade that was added was an advanced computer to look over tactics, and to have a better connection to others that will be in my squad. I have been going here for two years. and ready for my third.

Skill/suit ability: I was enrolled as the leader. I use tactics, and my natural leadership traits to help others and to find a way to win a battle. My suit is all well balanced with everything, but has an advanced computer to show me a map of the area, other suit's statuses, and the ability to keep a better connection to the suit's communication systems.

Personality: Very humble and kind. Very afraid that he will lose more people under his leadership, but keeps a calm face. Gets very hesitant and awkward when someone brings up the Battle of New York. Is extremely loyal, and can keep a promise and secret. Hates bullies.

Relationship?: Anyone interested, let me know!

Other: Although Stark gave him this opportunity, Captain America is his idol.

Name: Jane Gold
Age: 20

Suit Nickname: Recon

Years attended TSA: Fresh recruit

Bio:
Since her early age, Jane's parents realized their child was different. When she entered school age, they found out she possessed an eidetic memory. Being able to clearly recall something she seen or heard was of no small help in her studies, but at the age of 18, she was approached by S.H.I.E.L.D. to join them. Agreeing, she was trained as a spy and recon agent. When the academy opened, the organisation decided to take her training up a notch.

Her missions for shield usually consisted of scouting an area of interest before other agents were sent it, or recovering important documents, where her unusual skill came into the greatest use. Unfortunately for her superiors though, her mindset wasn't one that worked well in danger, and any protective gear that was commonly employed by the agency would not be acceptable for her kind of missions (Mingling among crowds of important people). When a place was made free at the academy, Stark was asked to solve the problem.

Skill/Ability:
She can recall (and can not forget) pretty much every moment of her life. This makes her an important asset on one hand as she is capable of mapping an area jsut by flying over or steal documents without the need for any camera. On the other hand, she is also one of the biggest security threats as she can not forget all the files and evidence she gathered over the years, hence why she was sent to train with an armored suit.

Her suit is customized for recon work and escape rather than combat and defense, boasting more maneuverability, superb computing power and most importantly, stealth systems. This comes at a price of reduced weaponry and sub-par protection compared to the other suits.

Personality:
Jane does not talk much, or in fact interacts with others in any way, trying not to flood her memory with unimportant conversations. The fact that she had reccomendations from "upstairs" rather than earning her place also makes others look at her differently, so she doesn't mind avoiding everyone.

Gads the IC button looks so forlorn an lonely as it has to watch the numbers roll up in the OOC. It's oh so tempting to press it and post an introduction so it doesn't feel left out

@Jones Sparrow: When you say ability, what do you mean? Does it have to be a combat skill or can we have a superpower in addition to the suit? I was thinking of something along the lines of precognition (limited to 30 seconds into the future) or line-of-sight telepathy.

EDIT: If all characters are baseline humans, that's good too. I just want to know exactly what I have to work with before posting a CS.

@Tachikoma: When i say skills/abilities its talents, and hobbies and stuff like that. The people being accepted into TSA in the RP are examples of extraordinary heroes that don't need powers to make a difference. Just like Stark. So i will have to say no to the mutations and super powers and stuff like that haha

Name: Bruce Bailey
Age: 23

Suit Nickname: Mark 40-B, "Blur"

Years attended TSA: 0, first year.
Bio: Bruce got a motorbike for his sixteenth birthday from his mechanic father. He immediately fell in with a rough crowd. Fighting, street racing, even petty theft and public intoxication were all under his belt by his eighteenth. He changed his tune when his best fiend wiped out and Bruce watched him die as they waited for the city's overtaxed paramedics to arrive.
Bruce turned over a new leaf, but his best skill was racing motorcycles. So he raised the money for an entry fee and put together a proper machine to try his hand at an organized track race. He won and has been doing that ever since. He donates every penny of his winnings to rescue organizations, and that is what attracted Tony Stark's attention.

Skill/Ability: His suit has the highest acceleration and top speed, both in flight and on foot. The Blur is a remodel of Stark's Hypervelocity suit, the Mark 40, or the "Shotgun." It's been slimmed down some, to reduce weight and drag in flight, at the cost of some of the weapon systems. The only weapons left are the repulsors, which are exceptionally strong on this model of armor, as they're used in its hyper velocity flight. The repulsors can get the Mk40-B up to Mach 6.2, but as soon as it reaches Mach 5, a pair of scramjets mounted on the back can take over. The scramjets are housed inside of the armor, and when the required velocity is met, they can be extended and activated to almost quadruple Blur's speed. The jets run off of an experimental hydrocarbon fuel developed by Stark Industries, which is housed in several tanks on various parts of the suit. This fuel is much more limited than the repulsors, and it must be used sparingly.
The spare processing power that isn't being used for targeting is now put to use as a flight guidance system. It gives advanced proximity and collision warnings, so that Bruce has enough time to react to things that he won't necessarily have enough time to actually see. When at full speed, Bruce relies more on chimes, whistles, and his heads-up-display than he does on his vision, which is basically, well, a blur.
With a top flight speed of Mach 24, the Blur rivals some of NASA's experimental aircraft.
When anywhere above Mach 1, the shockwave that follows in Blur's wake can be used as a weapon. Bruce just has to fly near something for the wave to hit it. The greater the speed, the more powerful the shockwave.

Personality: A real thrill seeking party boy. Kind of a daredevil, but he's confident in his abilities and they usually pull him through okay.
Relationship?: none yet.
Other:
A racer and a mechanic by trade, Bruce considers his position at Stark Academy to be the next step in both.

Wasn't here for that, and fair point although not all superhuman abilities improve durability / damage dealing. So, character time:

Name: James Van Demerwe

Age: 26

Appearance: 5' 7" Caucasian male with a wiry, almost skeletal build. Brown hair, slate grey eyes, somewhat ragged goatee.

Years in the SA: Two.

Callsign: Bloodhound.

Suit Discription: Externally appears similar to a standard Iron Man suit, but has less heavilly armored joints to allow better range of movement, most notably lacking shoulder pauldrons. Instead of the stock gold / titanium alloy plating and endoskeleton, the Bloodhound armor is constructed from matte black CNT based composites. This reduces the mass of the suit to a paltry 60 kg at no loss of structural integrity. While theoretically just as strong as standard suits, its lightweight construction means that it has less momentum and leverage, putting it at disadvantage when grappling. It's high strength to mass ratio does however allow it to run at 120 kilometers per hour and make vertical leaps of up to 80 meters without the aid of its repulsors.

The bloodhound armor has and extremely advance sensor package, including of an advanced ground penetrating radar capable of resolving images of objects as small as six centimeters across through ten kilometers of bedrock and an array of infrared cameras better suited to deepspace astranomy. It also has a state of the art communications and electronic warfare package, including the latest Stark Industries cryptography software.

These sensors and electronics consume a massive ammount of power, meaning that the bloodhound's arc reactor will deplete itself after a mere 90 seconds of powered flight and that its repulsor blasts are three times weaker than those of a standard suit. To compensate for the limited flight time, the armor has more control surfaces and manuevering thruster to aid in controlling and directing falls and jumps, as well as strategicly placed patches electro-static "hairs" (synthetic gecko skin) to allow it climb and hang from walls and ceilings with minimal effort.

To compensate for its weaker repulsors, James generally operates the Bloodhound armor with a double load of micro missiles and a pair each of smoke, teargas, flashbang, and frag grenades.

Overall, the Bloodhound Armor is both weaker and less mobile that every other suit save the Sparrow, but once its wearer has you in his sight, there is nowhere you can hide.

Biography: James is a native of South Africa who immigrated to America with his parents when he was three. Growing up in a poor neighborhood with a significant african american population, James soon learned that most people do not look up. He then taught himself through trial and error to climb quickly and quietly in order to avoid being beaten by gangs who falsely but understandably assumed that he and his family were racist because of their nation of origin. When he was a teenager, he began running a courier service for the local gangs, eventually earning enough money to go to college and earn his masters degree in electrical engineering with the aid of a partial scholarship.

James was out free running across the roofs of Manhattan when the Chitturi invaded. While he avoided the heart of the battle, he did hit several stragglers with molotov cocktails. One of these incidents was captured on video by a bystander's iphone and uploaded to the internet, earning him and invite to the SA.

Skill / Ability: James is a master of parkour.

Personality: James is a fairly stoic, quiet man, but on the rare occasions when he does speak beyond monosylabic replies he is surprisingly articulate. He tends to wear his armor nearly constantly, and has been known use the wallclimbing feature to drop behind people from the ceiling when they mention his name. He also has a habit of lurking, eaves dropping, and just generally being creepy for the hell of it which has been know to get him into trouble. That said, he doesn't actually bear his fellow students any ill intent, and does give good advice when asked. He is the designated snack guy on stakeouts and other longer assignments, partly because of his prior experience with running small packages, but mostly because no one else wanted the job.

Note: I'm open to editing the bio if the GM prefers. The bit about firebombing the Chitturi is a bit shaky, I'll admit. I'd also be willing to tone down the armor's sensor package somewhat.

They offered her a deal...stay on with them for a couple of years until they are sure she had been rehabilitated and then go join Tony Starks academy. She, of course, said yes and here she is.

Could we not call it the TSA? I don't want to be part of anything that uses that acronym, and it's grammaticly incorrect anyway in this case. I mean come on, does the phrase "the The Stark Academy" sound right to any of you?

If we need an acronym, let's just go with the SA. It's better english and doesn't conjure up images of gratuitous stripsearches of seventy year old men in the middle of a crowded airport with infants bawling at the top their lungs in the backround.
