Yeah, both of which are borderline worthless on a Monk.

Unless monks can use cantrips or something, which I don't think they can. Oh well.

Yeah, they can't use cantrips... so... any SPI, INT, or MAG is pretty much worthless, save for stat checks.

I made a roll to avoid the zombies: 20! +7 (DEXmod)

and... if we DO fight, they'll be blind (To-hit rate / 2)
AND we'll have a +10 on our INI, as well as a free turn... with them suffering a -10 INI due to the pre-emptive attack.

...and their stats are as follows.

Attack: 12 - 17 (11 + 1d6)
Defense: 10 (0 from armor)
