So, uh, hey, I'm a guy who came back after a long time. I saw this RP a while back but I didn't really have the time then, and I wasn't sure if there was space. And now that I came back to read all this, I'm kinda lost. I'd like to join if there's space, though, so is there any room for a master of evil (figuratively speaking, of course)?

Oh, well, I got a few...

I want to start with 2 characters, from what I've seen, it seems ok but I want to ask if I can have that. Also, can I make a newspaper club?
And there's a lot to go through in the IC so I'd kinda like a recap, because it looks sort of confusing.

For now I would suggest that you only make one character. We would like to see your first character first before you get too crazy with a second one. A few other players have multiple characters either due to not wanting ti play their old ones or proving that they can manage two characters at once.

And I suppose you can make a sort of newspaper club, but considering how high tech this world is, I doubt we actually use newspapers. Maybe something like a journalism club or something?

As for a recap, sure. The most recent events involve the Ebony Strykers; they were attacked by an army of outlaws (Basically players who PvP and attack other players in the wild) lead by a hacker named Corpse Collector. She had been defeated after being betrayed by one of the other players, who announced her intentions to destroy the Ebony Strykers. And while the other players managed to fend off the Outlaw army attack the city, a new conflict has brewed between characters in the Ebony Strykers, and the other guilds look for weakness in the Black Guild.

Cut to now and it's been a few days after the attack. Currently, it's afterschool and everyone is going home. Some have gone into Deep Ground while others have things they're going to do in real life.

Anything in particular you're looking to get involved in?

Are you saying to me that they abolished newspapers? The next thing will be the fall of paper books, when that time comes, humanity is doomed, for sure. And then people ask why Eris doesn't like that distopia they live in... ¬_¬

By the way, people, there's an issue that I've been noticing ever since I joined this RP and that only I seem to be keeping tabs of (I even talked with @TheWindel about it, months ago), the timeline of DGO. Everyone keeps thinking that a whole lot of time has passed between the beginning of the RP and now, because we've been rolling for nearly a year, but the truth is that no. Only six days have passed since he first IC post.

In the effort of clearing that out, here's a barebones version of it:

Deep Ground Timeline

Day #01: Thursday, retconned to Wednesday later on
The Edgelord Black King opens the doors for new recruits, emos eager players flock to the Black City. CC steals stuff from the Guilds.

Day #02: Actual Thursday
More players join the Ebony Strikers, CC attacks the Strikers with the giant Dissolution, the Scum Sweepers join the Black Guild in the wake of the battle. Most drops happened at this point, fours months into the RP.

Day #03: Friday
Pizza Night!

Day #04: Saturday
Most of day was spent inside the game, but there were moments outside of it regarding mysterious mysteries, like Erika's case and the attack on Eris' previous room. The second raid of the Black City happens, CC dies, everybody is happy, yay!

... Just no. That's when things are about to get serious.

Day #05: Sunday & Monday
Time skip/server maintenance.

Day #06: Tuesday
Present Time.

Let none say that I don't care for this, perhaps now people will stop thinking that their characters have been gone for ageeeeeeees when in truth it's not even one week ever since the story started.

Budget cuts, you know. Also politics. "Save the trees" and all that cal. Why not use a more environmentally friendly electronic newsletter instead? But yeah, whatever. Newspaper or no there will still be kids who can't help but snoop around. Let's just say it'd be up to the newspaper club and their budget to decide how they get the word out.
