Sona Penetierre

Location: the tavern

Interacting with: Sundos and Lob

The fair-skinned elf was happily relaxing until she felt like someone was watching her, but when the blonde looked over to find out who it was. She couldn’t point out who it was exactly “Strange…” she muttered. It really must be her clothing, either that: or the fact that they have never seen a female blonde with a heavy chest lurking around in this very tavern before. Even though this made the female uneasy, she understood that this may be the case. Which sucked in her opinion. They really need to keep their eyes to themselves.

Wiggling her toes which are hidden under the table, she suddenly heard the most unusual thing ever:

"PRETTY LADY! COME SIT! FIRE GOOD!"

The female jumped ever so slightly as now, she felt like everyone was watching her. It was aimed at her after all, and even if it was a bit… ignominious of the… creature dude like thing?? She could only sigh as she stood up rather obediently and walked over to the creature dude with a slight smile on her face, although appearing be a rather weak one.

“Well then” she stated, finally looking to the male who accompanied what she may aswell call the beast. “May I ask why you wanted my attention?” She asked, a curious smirk appearing on her features “Cause I don’t really know you, and coming out with something as childish as that, makes things seem VERY important” it was true in her opinion, she didn’t know them. So the beast really had no reason to be ‘casual’ with her in any means possible. “Is he always like this??” the girl finally queried the male that looked as human as human can be, twiddling with her blonde locks while she was at it.

Sundos Solito

Location: Crossed Swords

Interacting With: Lob, Sona

Sundos knelt next to Lob. ”Ssshhhhh… Good Lob..Quiet Lob. Not yell at ladies, Lob.” He was trying in vain to stop and quiet Lob.
“Well then” Sundos’ heart skipped a beat. He never knew that elves had such magical sounding voices. He looked over at her. He noticed her feet first. He slowly raised his head. His gaze traveled up from her feet to her face. It wasn’t lust that filled his eyes. It was more like confused shock and awe. He has never seen so much of a woman before.

He quickly stood up. ”Hmmm. Sister…” He turned from looking at her and looked at Lob as he spoke with a slight smile. ”This is Lob. And yes, he is always like this, it seems. His body is fully developed, but I worry that his mind is still like a child’s. It is not his fault. I blame his father and his father’s tainted blood. But Lob has a good and innocent soul. He is a child of Lathander, just as you and I are.

He finally turned towards Sona, but he kept his eyes on her forehead, afraid to look any lower. ”I am Sundos Solito, a DawnBringer. Sister. I hope you forgive us. He did not mean any disrespect to you. Are you traveling alone, Sister? Dangerous time for travel.”

"Never under estimate the quickness in which a skill can be learned if the heart and mind are open," Yomdi said in a rather calm tone. He seemed to lose the madness that was part of him. Standing there he righted himself. Once his back was no longer curled over from hunching he stood at nearly six foot five inches tall.

He nodded towards Keystone and once the axe was released he let out a controlled breath, the chestnut stopping its course about half way towards them, still spinning end over end before it hurled back towards Keystone and shattering itself in the stone behind him. Whizzing by his ear, giving off a soft whistle as it did.

"Breath is life, use it to control your attacks," he said as he walked over to them and placed a hand on Sephs shoulder. "You will try first. You have the ability, I can smell it. You need only to open your mind, your heart, your breath," he said pulling an apple out of his robes and holding it out to her.

"Toss this up, when you do, picture the winds in your mind. The way they would curl around the apple as you breath out as if watching the snows or sands wrap around it in a storm. Then, breath. Feel the life here," he said placing his hand over her diaphragm. "Feel it held in your lungs, feel it leave as you exhale from your lips. Just a small parting of them. Don't try to send it flying, just try to make it hold itself in the air a bit longer than it would without your breath. Trust yourself," Yomdi said as he stepped back and over towards Keystone.

"Belief is the toughest part of learning to breath. We do it naturally, so when we alter it and try to control it. It takes practice but if we believe in our breathing anything is possible," he said as he picked up his cane and hunched back over.

"Come come, breath!" Yomdi exclaimed, the madness seeming to set back in.

Kyra walked over to Lob and the rest and had a seat, letting her pack fall to the ground next to her but keeping her weapons close in case Marcus decided to be... well a jerk about everything. She was not about to let Lob be taken away for nothing and without a fight. Ash padded over to her and rested his head in her lap, her fingers running gently through his fur as she looked over the little group that was forming. This was surely going to be interesting.

"I guess we should start over. I am Kyra, here for my King to see about the war that has broken out here and see how it will effect us on various levels. This is Ash, my friend and traveling companion," she said in a flat tone. Ash perked his ears up on hearing his name and barked softly before laying his head back down in her lap. Looking at them she tilted her head to the side.

"So, tell me. Lob, Sundros, and um... the rest of you. What brings you to these parts?" she asked as one of the tavern women brought over food and drink for the group as well as for Ash. Ash spun around and drove his nose into the bowl set on the floor next to Kyras chair as he began to inhale the meal that was provided for him.

Persephone

Location: Yellow Rose Temple
Interacting With: Keystone, Yomdi

Seph held the apple she'd been given in one hand, turning it over and examining, despite her better judgement. She didn't really want to know where the thing had been. It didn't look rotten, at least, and she wasn't being asked to eat it, so that was something. The chestnut whistling by their heads had been pretty impressive, but how long had Yomdi practiced? He claimed the skill could be learned quite quickly with an open heart and mind, but in Seph's experience, nothing came easily. Maybe for other people it did, but not for her.

Still... it couldn't hurt to try. She listened carefully, tried to pay attention to her own breathing. She looked up, to where the apple would be when she tossed it, she thought about how the breath in her felt, how it sat in her, where Yomdi had placed his hand over her. "Okay... here goes." She loosened her shoulders a bit, took a step away from Keystone and Yomdi in case anything went wrong, and took a few deep breaths.

She inhaled, tossed the apple up into the air before her, and watched it closely as it rotated around. At the height of the toss she let the breath go, parting her lips slightly, imagining the way the wind might curl around the apple, and hold it up...

It fell straight down the floor and splattered into a number of pieces. Seph looked down at it, her mouth still slightly agape, before she kicked a piece off the toe of her boot, and laughed a bit awkwardly at herself. "You know... I don't think I've ever done anything right on the first try." Even her healing, her strongest gift, had taken months and months to become even slightly proficient in. "I'll, uh... I'll clean this up."

Sona Penetierre

Location: The tavern

Interacting with: Sundos, Lob, Kyra, Ash (to an extent) and Alto (to an extent)

When the elf arose, she heard the male hissing at the creature-esque male with some scolding. But it didn’t stop her speak in the way that she did, in fact, it only made the human male inspect her and this made the blonde confused indeed. She had nothing interesting about her apart from her clothing. Unless he was wondering about how she can wear such a thing in the cold, then he could be her guest so-to-speak.

The young lady listened to what he was saying and sighed softly at Lob, she actually felt pretty sorry for him. The Elf could see what was going on now, and why he said it in the first place, the human must be right after all: the creature seems to be having some problems with development and may need just some sort of education to help him with his life. Who would be able to do that though at this time of year?? It is cold, and quite a few people go down on looks and not… personality. “Well, things may have taken a turn indeed. If he has you, then I am sure he will have someone to take care of him well”

Smiling softly at the male, she listened to him in silence. A DawnBringer?? then he is surely a man to be respected… fair enough. She may aswell speak. “No, no. It is quite alright” she nodded twice in a calm manner. “He can’t help it, so he needs your brain” She chuckled at her own joke, trying to make the atmosphere lighter. But the atmosphere was very much BUT light… it was tense, it was as if something was going to happen or already happened. But she didn’t know what happened.

“My nam-” her words halted as she saw another female come in within earshot. She stayed silent just then, she sounded important if she was indeed ‘there for her king’ just as she said so. So it wasn’t her business to ask, but it made her dead curious. She doesn’t know what she stepped in now, but she may aswell just wing it because this sounds like some sort of quest. And with her goal set in her head, she may aswell join them last minute.

“Well, my name is Sona” the female spoke up “Sona Penetierre, and I am an elf from Aludimiir Forest, I am a bard that wishes to travel around with companions for inspirations to write stories and songs” Short, sweet, and she didn’t even make a fuss about it. She wonders how she will fare around this group.

Watching Ash being well, Ash. Sona smiled softly at the others, looking to see Alto perched on her shoulder before poking the tip of her ears discreetly. Ticklish. Just as always.

Lob

Location: The Inn
Interacting With: Sona, Sundos, Ash, Kyra

“Is he always like this??”
Savage underbite widens into a toothsome display as he nods vigorously.
Yes! Lob speak good, Lob good. Lob Dogride
He looked to the shaman and nodded in agreement as if he understood what was said.
"One, bad. One, cage. Many good, no cage."
When Ash's other half came in, he lit up like a puppy with a howl to let everyone know Kyra was back
"KyyYyyRRrrRRaaAAaa..."
He got off his place by the fire for her to take, but she found another spot for herself so he went back to it to keep rubbing ash on himself to dry off.
Orcs, smell orcs, find orcs. Find town, not town, ash town. Guard find lob, take lob, lob cage, two moon.
And with that his heroic epic comes to a close as another bowl of food is set down near him so he begins to go at it with the same gusto as Ash and about the same amount of manners. The mention of bard had lob look up with that same underbite grin as he remembers sana's gypsy dancing and the shiny outfit (or lack thereof) they rescued her in.
"Bard, good, dance dance, shake shake, coin coin."
He wiped the dripping gravy from his face with a massive hand, then licked his palm clean and started to lick the bowl as others shared stories.

Sundos nodded to Sona. He didn't mean to, but perhaps Lob was one of the reasons Lathander had commanded Sundos to the frontier. At least, it was in Sundos' own mind and heart. [color=6ecff6]"I am not sure how much my brain can help Lob. He may be child like, but he clearly has his own mind and I am not sure how much influence I have with him. But I will try to keep him out trouble."

Sundos smiled as Kyra and Lucan returned to the group. "I am glad you made it back here. I hope there was no bloodshed." Sundos related how he was sent from the capital city by the High Priest to aid in the war effort at this hamlet. When he left, Sundos just assumed there would be a Church of Lathander in the hamlet. He was a little worried when he discovered there wasn't even a shrine.

He did not tell the others, but he was getting worried by his lack of funds. He though the Church would provide room and boarding. It turns out Sundos IS the Church.

Upon hearing that Sona was a bard, he understood her lack of dress and her exposed legs. Still didn't make him comfortable, but he understood.

The mention of bard had Lob look up with that same underbite grin as he remembers sana's gypsy dancing and the shiny outfit (or lack thereof) they rescued her in.
"Bard, good, dance dance, shake shake, coin coin."

Sundos closed his eyes and tried not to blush. "hmmm..." The mental image that sprang to Sundos caused him to pause for a second. "Lob. Stop. Lob good. Sundos turned to the others and said " I am sorry, like I said, pure innocence."

Keystone

Location: Yellow Rose Temple, deep interior
Interacting With: Persephone, Yomdi

Keystone readily stifled a smirk at the apple meeting the floor with a dramatic, almost exothermic reaction. The fruit had to be nearing the end of its culinary usefulness, exploding the way it did after a short drop. The brawler imagined that, having been stuck underneath Yomdi's robes for enough time, he might also not be as constitute as he once was.

Still, exploding fruit was pretty funny. Especially to a man with simple humors such as Keystone. Not the kind of funny that makes one collapse on the ground in a gasping heap, possibly soiling one's undergarments in the process, no, but the guttural reaction of a man having seem something abruptly satisfying, snorting, and returning to a resting mood (be it a fraction more amused than before).

He supposed it was his turn, then. Being no stranger to breathing techniques and rather impressed with the potential application of manipulative air, this was actually a bit exciting. In Keystone's experience, his own internal winds mostly manipulated him, not the other way around. He looked to his hand, still clutching two rich, brown chestnuts. Yes, these would suffice.

As if flipping a coin, Keystone thumbed one high into the air and stepped underneath. The slightly streaked, dark edible seed flew high, tumbling and spiraling about above his head. Keystone adopted a nigh stance, arms in front on his chest and feet shoulder width apart. He forced his mind to slow, synchronize with the beating of his heart. The nut seemed to twirl upwards with less acceleration, winding down yet still traveling at the same rate.

It seemed to pause, if only for a fraction of a second, before starting back down.

Keystone took in a fast but gentle breath through his nose, feeling the air gust into his lungs. It galvanized him; set off his body and soul's ability to harness his own life energy to perform tasks others would deem martially impossible. He was One with his chi.

A surge of adrenaline, lancing through him like liquid greatness, dilated his eyes and sharpened his perception. He could pick out the individual grooves and imperfections in this chestnut, this tiny spark of life-that-could-be. Keystone opened himself fully to the possibilities of the moment and let himself believe.

The chestnut descended further. Faster now, as his perception came back in sync with the world around him. Keystone drew from his inner reserves of power, released a tiny stream of his spiritual energy upward, and exhaled gently towards the nut above him.

It bricksmacked him. Hard.

Much harder than it should have. Point of fact, it felt like he had just punched himself in his own face. The lingering Chi he had harnessed dissipated, returning to the ley lines of his form. An emotion that did not seem his own echoed in his failure to keep the nut aloft; something akin to betrayal. Less "you must die for your transgressions" betrayal; more like parental disappointment.

Keystone went horizontal well before he struck the floor. The chestnut seemed to press down on his face just a little harder before rolling unceremoniously onto the floor. Dazed, if but for a second, Keystone kicked himself to a standing position and glanced about, expecting an attack.

Another second later, he looked to Persephone. A trickle of blood from his nose stood as the only physical manifestation of recent beatdown he received from an afternoon snack.

"I'm not thinkin' that's usual."

Lucan Cauldwell

Location: The Crossed Swords Tavern
Interacting With: Kyra, Alto, Ash, Lob, Sundos, Sona

Remaining fairly silent as Kyra had her last words with Marcus, Lucan moved along with her back toward the Tavern, waiting for Marcus to be out of earshot before he finally said anything. "Already managed to piss off the local lawmen... Great." He'd add a soft chuckle after he spoke, a joking tone to his voice, but the slightest hint of honest awkwardness. As they got back to the tavern itself, Lucan moved inside with Kyra and looked over to the group by the fire, spotting the elven female and realising they'd taken on yet another. Moving over the fire, Lucan didn't bother to take a seat, standing by Kyra as he rested his hands on the pommel of his sword, eyes glancing over each of the individuals who sat by the fire, rapidly growing used to Lob's bursts of shouting.

"Well - now that we're not making the Constable angry, i'm Lucan - just passing through, or at least I was, managed to pick up some work escorting a trader through Orc territory... Any of you would be welcome to join, i'm sure." Lucan explained rather simply as he looked over the group, finally getting to the point of why he'd joined them in the first place, glancing over to Kyra.

"In fact, the merchant i'm escorting asked if you specifically would be interested." He commented, giving her a gentle nod as he kept his left hand on his blade pommel, shifting his right up to the scarf around his neck as he adjusted it, the heat of the fire making it somewhat uncomfortable, but he made no effort to remove it as he stood by the fire quietly, waiting for the others to either introduce themselves, or to provide an answer to his offer.

Sona Penetierre

Location: The tavern

Interacting with: everyone located in the Tavern

Sona’s smile slowly faded slowly as she went into deep thought, she didn’t hear what anyone else said or thought for the time being. Her thoughts drifted off to the most obvious thing that could destroy her entire life this second… Her brother.

Her and her brother… didn’t have the best relationship around. The man had always wanted to kill her no matter what, and even though Sona may be safe now with these people, there would be no telling when her brother was gonna pop up from outta nowhere and do the deed of killing her. She knows something will happen in his favour some time soon… And she couldn’t let that happen what so ever.

The bard slowly snapped out of it to see the others listening to yet another man… So he was giving the others an offer of some sort, but she wasn’t ready to speak about the matter yet. She wanted to see what the others would say about this, if the others wanted to go; then she will tag along, she sure as hell didn’t want to go alone when she would be at her most vulnerable, considering it was dangerous enough to travel around every where else solo; it reminded herself that she would be much safer with company.

Sona slowly looked to Sundos and Lob to see what their thoughts were about it, since them two were the first ones she personally met, even if it was rather rude as to how she encountered the duo in the first place.

Yomdi watched the two and perked an old wiry brow, shaking his head a bit and then shrugging as he looked at both of them. Seemed they would both need a bit more time; most picked it up quickly but there was always though that had a harder time with breathing than other. It seemed that he had found two with such a difficultly but from the looks of it, it was for vastly different reasons.

"It's alright, it's alright. Now we have nuts and applesauce to enjoy," he laughed. "Let us try something else, you," he said looking at Seph. "I think you need a more action oriented visual," he said sliding his over robe off, leaving him in his under robes. "Try like this," he added.

Tossing the robe to the side he thrust his hand out, letting the wind catch the robe on the floor and spinning it around like it was caught in a small wind storm as he breathed. It twirled around and spun before settling back down.

"Use you hand to direct things as you breath, feel the air around you and leave you, this may help," he said before looking over towards Keystone and taking his first deep breath around the man since he enter and chuckled somewhat.

"You need something...um earthy in yours," he said before he let out a rather loud belch. "Release the..." he said trying to keep a straight face but was failing miserably. "Try this," he said changing it up a bit as he looked back at the robe on the ground and let out another loud burp. "BBBBUUUUURRRRRPPPPPP!" came out of his mouth and the robe caught back up in the winds as it had before, then settling back down. "Pure breath ain't gonna work for you for a while I am thinking."

"Well it is nice to meet you Sona, sounds like an old friends name: Sana," she said as she took a few bites of the food that was presented to her. Listening to Lob she had to smile, he spoke simply but there seemed to be a lot more going on through his mind than he could easily vocalize.

"Lob is fine Sundos," Kyra laughed. "A mutual friend of ours Sana is a gypsy. She wore these coins on her dance clothing. She would shake her hips and make the coins ring out to the beat of the music as she performed," Kyra explained as she leaned back in her seat and took a slow sip from the goblet.

"And no, no blood shed but I do think it would be wise to leave town in the morning. I think I'll head out with Lucan. I need to check out the Orc territory anyway, would give a decent excuse to be wandering around," she added as she reached down and scratched behind Ashes ear once again now that he had cleaned out his bowl.

"Care to join us Lob, Sundos, Soma? Could always use some extra hands," Kyra offered. If these Orcs were anything like she had seen in the past, the more they had with them the better, as long as they could fight. Kyra was used to it only being her and Ash but she had no qualms going out with a group. This looked to be like a longer investigation than she was expecting. Hopefully the goblins were not involved.

Sundos Solito

Location: Crossed Swords

Interacting With: Lob, Sona, Lucan, Kyra

Please…enough with the talk of shaking hips…

Sundos thought of the sad state of his funds. If he was going to build a Church, at least a shrine, he would need some money. He promised to help defend the town. Perhaps traveling into the orc’s lands and meeting the orcs there would be better than allowing them to come back to the hamlet again. He has never hired himself out as a mercenary before. But swinging a mace was the only skill he had. He needed to support himself if he was to do any good out here on the frontier.

”I will come with you two. Perhaps we can do some good for the hamlet out in the orc lands. Also, I hate to admit this, but I could use the coin. I need a job. Being an armed warrior is what I’m trained to be.

“Lob, you come too? You come with Kyra and Ash? Yes..Yes? Good Lob.”
Sundos had just given up and no longer even noticed how he talked with Lob. He did promise to keep an eye on Lob and thought it best not to leave him alone in the hamlet. He wasn’t sure who he was trying to protect, Lob from the village folk or them from Lob.

Turning towards, Sona, he continued, ”Do you wish to come with us? We are heading into dangerous territory. But you’ll be surrounded by armed warriors. I assume, you have certain woodland skills that could aide us as well. If nothing else, you may learn a story or two with us.”

Keystone

Location: Yellow Rose Temple, deep interior
Interacting With: Persephone, Yomdi

Looking to Temple Master Yomdi, the itinerant Keystone then understood that he was truly an old, wise, and ...well, disgusting man. Considering the fact that he had bonged a mightily epic fart through a full bathtub less than an hour ago, he was not in any position to judge. His own social indelicacy would likely be whispered about in this little hamlet for many years to come, told and retold, aggrandized to a thing of myth as the generations warped the retelling of it. The Lens of Time always seemed to magnify events, what few events it allowed through its smoky view. If he didn't do some massive Hero work, that would be his legacy in this corner of the world.

The "training" that Yomdi proposed would not help with his reputation in this regard. All the same, there might be some wisdom in accenting his natural gastrointestinal talents.

"Cracked a wine glass that way earlier, I did. I was closer, though."

Maybe this was about control. Putting the same kind of focus and muscle control into his belch that he did expelling his fetid and infernal ass air earlier in the evening. Truth be told, he didn't even think about funneling personal energies through concentrated eructation. The technique wouldn't involve the manipulation of air, at least not directly. It would be more accurate to state that it was a manipulation of self, thusly expelling air. It was worth a try. His stomach still had not calmed, at least not fully, from the events prior to entering the temple.

Cautiously, Keystone swallowed a mouthful of air. While not the totality of the the belch he tried to summon, he hoped it would be the primer necessary to draw upon the reserves of gasses in his stomach. As a practiced motion, he brought his feet out into a widened stance and clasped one hand in the other before his chest, index fingers extended and pointed skyward. He took in a deep breath, and began to resonate a low, steady hum, a method utilized by a man trying to center himself. His abdominal muscles contracted and released in a manner to which he was not fully accustomed. He could feel a familiar stirring.

His meditative hum was joined by a second sound - a bubbling drone hidden inside of his dense flesh, seeming to respond to and reinforce his vocal monotone. The source of this noise ascended slowly from the pit of his stomach to the center of his chest, working, fighting its way into his throat.

It was there that the two noises merged. It became something resonant, echoing itself and entwining, asserting itself into a noise beautiful and frightening to witness. Just as the living dynamic of sound and vapor began to backdraft through his sinus cavity, Keystone threw his hands to his sides, balling large hands into inverted fists and opening his mouth wide to accommodate the surge of wind and sound.

"...mmmmMmmmMMMMMMMrrrrrRRRRRAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRG!"

It was a sound, comparatively brief for its intensity, a thing birthed by a thousand tiny keystrikes of a hellriffic piano, hammering upon his vocal cords with rapid precision as to disguise their separateness, the individual parts merging to draft an unmelodic, foamy whole. The concussion wave of its entrance into the greater world, while not a thing of intense power, was tangible enough to those present, as was the sonic reverberation of the act; it rattled in the bones of their chests with burbled gusto.

The robe upon the ground did not rise, nor did it dance for Keystone. There was no graceful arc and sudden dip. There was promise, however. A corner peeled from the ground and settled atop itself. A start, at the least.

"I ain't got the control I need on it just yet, Master Yomdi. But I'm knowing how to start. I'll meditate on it, then, and get back with you when our job's done, if'n I can." He nodded to Persephone and continued, "When we're done here, we ought get back to the others. Preparations, and such, eh?"

Keystone bowed his head and tapped his knuckles together, then stepped backwards. It was a gesture of respect, for the older Master and Persephone both, signaling the end of his required attentions.

Persephone

Location: Yellow Rose Temple
Interacting With: Keystone, Yomdi

When Master Yomdi had stripped himself of all of his outer layers of robes, leaving them swirling in the air, and Keystone had unleashed a massive belch that seemed to vibrate her bones, Persephone was left wondering how she'd gotten here. It had seemed like such a simple thing at the time, to go up to the temple and inquire as to whether or not Keystone would be interested in a job. Maybe she'd spend a minute or two collecting her thoughts in the peaceful environment of the temple. She hadn't expected this, but then again, she found that rarely did her life go as expected.

"Agreed," she said, nodding to Keystone. "Hopefully Lucan's managed to rope in some more help." There certainly was an odd variety of skilled individuals about the hamlet. They could make a powerful group, though there was no guarantee they'd work together well at all.

"And thank you, Master Yomdi, I'll try that next time I practice. I'm sure I'll catch on soon enough." She liked the idea of using her hands with it, as she did a similar thing with her healing magic. A visual focus did indeed seem to be of use to her, in focusing her ability or some such.

Bowing for the master, Seph joined up with Keystone in departing the temple. If she was bothered at all by any residual effects of his impressive belch, she didn't show it. Well," she said, half grinning, "I guess you learn something new every day."

Lob

Location: The Inn
Interacting With: Sona, Sundos, Ash, Kyra

Lob half listened to the going ons as everyone talked and let out a long yawn that showed off a multitude of broken and jagged teeth with broad flat blood-red tongue. His mind was empty and his belly was full, he reached out across the circle of people for his stuff kept in a burlap sack next to Kyra, his new Alpha. With it as a pillow, he curled up by the fire and his eyes grew heavy.

"Yes, Lob good, Lob go... Lob smash."

And, unless disturbed, he would soon be fast asleep like a tuckered out puppy. Probably up in the middle of the night to bark at something no one else cans see too.

Yomdi smiled at the two and nodded, it was a good enough start. More would come if they so chose it. Lacing an arm through each of theirs he escorted them back to the main room of the temple; his outer robe sweeping up off the floor and wrapping around him as they went.

"Yes, yes, come back and see Yomdi when you pass back through this way. I expect much progress. Much. No apple splat," he teased as he spoke. Once they were in the main hall once again the front doors of the temple opened.

"I will see you soon, go, go, sleep. Tomorrow is another day," he quipped before leaving them and going back to whatever the hell it was crazy temple folk did behind closed doors.

Kyra Altham

Location: The Cross Swords Tavern
Interacting With: The Group There

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Kyra smirked as Lob rested himself down by the fire. She patted Ash, instructing him to stay with Lob for the evening; the dire wolf padding over and curling up next to the half orc, letting out a long yawn before fully settling down.

"Well, who ever wishes to join us come morning is welcome to but I believe I will follow their example," Kyra began as she motioned over towards Lob and Ash.

"Sleep is calling, till morning," she added, biding them goodnight and making her way up to her room. The door closing behind her before she let out a long sigh. It would take several days of travel to get to the other side of the orc territory and that was during peaceful times from what she had been able to gather.

Running her fingers through her hair she dropped her things and sat down on the edge of the bed; kicking her boots off before she laid down and stretched out. She wouldn't be able to fall asleep for a bit but some peaceful unwinding was long over due at this point.

Sundos Solito

Location: Crossed Swords

Interacting With: Lob, Sona, Lucan, Kyra

Sundos was embarrassed when Lob fell asleep in the dining hall. He quietly asked the bar maid if it was alright if Lob slept by the fire.

Speaking to everybody still in the room, Sundos said, ”Fear not the Darkness. Dawn shall arrive soon. Have a pleasant sleep everybody.”

Sundos then spoke with the bar tender and asked if there was still a bed available in the common sleeping room. He had a few coins to pay for it. But his coins were being spent like water. He would be out of money very soon. He carried his pack into the room. He was glad to find it empty. Anybody else sleeping in here must have fled earlier and never come back. He was fine with that.

He dropped his pack and knelt facing to the east, the coming Dawn to quietly offer up his prayers. He knew he would be up before Dawn to greet the new day.

Lucan Cauldwell

Location: The Crossed Swords Tavern
Interacting With: Kyra, Alto, Ash, Lob, Sundos, Sona

Listening as the others mulled over his offer and agreed, Lucan seemed legitimately surprised at how easy it had been to convince them all to join him and Persephone. "Huh, well having more help'll be useful, glad that you'll all be coming." He gave them a firm nod, pleased both for the company on the road, and for the possible assistance should any individuals he'd rather avoid came along, he particularly was glad for Lob coming along, curious as the large half-orc was, and, well, stupid as he was, he'd be more than useful in a fight - and he doubted Lob would side with any bounty hunters over Lucan.

Shifting his gaze over to Kyra as she bid them goodnight, he gave her a nod. "I'll be down here in the morning so we can all head out together." He uttered simply in her direction, but the comment was intended for all those present. Watching as the group separated to move off to their own rooms, Lucan was yet again struck with the fact that he had no room to stay in. Shrugging off the thought, he moved to a table nearer to the door and sat, figuring he'd wait for Persephone to return and inform her of his success before he went off searching for a place to spend the night, or for an unoccupied room upstairs for him to sneak into.

Settling into his seat, he idly watched the fire from where he was, and the sleeping lob - eyes drifting over the elven bard occasionally. He hadn't had a chance to actually speak to her yet, but he assumed she was coming along, so he'd chat to her then - assuming she went up to bed like all the others.

Sona Penetierre

Location: The tavern

Interacting with: everyone located in the Tavern

Sona was rather embarrassed to hear what Lob said. Not understanding why he said such confusing words in the first place. But she glanced over at Kyra as soon as she explained to her that it was very nice to meet her, and that Sona sounded similar to Sana. Biting her lower lip, Sona understood Lob’s words much better the moment Kyra mentioned it that their “Sana” friend was a gypsy and danced “oh wow… dancers are amazing people” she nodded, there were some dancers that usually danced to music back at the forest. Very graceful indeed.

The girl was rather glad to hear their opinions aswell, even to the point of being offered to join them by Sundos and Kyra themselves. “Of course I would come, Sundos. Kyra offered kindly, and you already have pointed out the other reasons” She bowed her head quickly as she stated her words.. She would rather tag along the journey if Sundos and Lob were around, if she was going to be honest. It would probably make it easier for her if she could, maybe her songs could even come in handy for some other stuff, well she hopes so anyway

It didn’t take long for the female to glance over and look at a certain Lob, the man-beast has finally drifted off the sleep in a peaceful fashion. Sona was actually quite jealous, how can a man-beast do that so easily and not an elf like her!? She shook her head to get the thought out of her head. Not long after that, Kyra mentioned that she was also going to go to the land of nod. But Sona… she wasn’t really tired. But she always napped around the day when she travelled alone because a few hours nap was safer in her case then a full-frontal six-eight hour sleep.

“Goodnight, Everyone…” she whispered quietly, trying not to wake Lob up in all her might before sighing softly and just sitting down on a chair, she took her harp out of whatever was holding/carrying it and place it on the table, checking it’s strings accordingly. They still seemed fine… but she had a feeling that one may break soon, Sona was lucky… she had a few strings left but not that many, she may have to be careful as to how hard she plucks them strings.

Only noticing Lucan as she gawked to her left, he doesn't seem to have noticed she went to bed or anything of the sort yet, so she will stay quiet for the time being.

Keystone

Location: Yellow Rose Temple, Crossed Swords Inn & Tavern
Interacting With: Persephone, Militia, Anyone still awake at the Crossed Swords

The sizable pugilist stepped into the brisk air outside of the Yellow Rose Temple, bowing his head respectfully until the door swung closed behind them. He looked to his companion, Persephone, and offered her his arm. A bit stuffy a gesture, out here on the borderlands. Presumptuous, one might say, were they unfamiliar with Keystone's more protective nature. He eyeballed the militiamen present just outside of the Temple until they parted before him, allowing unrestricted egress from the area.

"C'mon then, Miss Sephy," he began, speaking in a manner both formal and casual, as a potential suitor or servant might, "Let's get back to the Inn. I'll buy us an ale and we can talk about 'rangements, ey?"

Keystone's breath fogged slightly in the evening's steadily dropping temperature. His heavy bootfalls crunched into the gravel and tight packed, dry leaves of the season with the solid regularity of a man unconcerned with trivialities like stealth. As the large man walked, his sensed tried to attune to his surroundings, mindful of the fact that the area was technically at war. Still, his thoughts skipped to the near future; tomorrow, and what oddness may come of it.

If the more memorable guests of the Crossed Swords were any indication, this little side venture as a merchant guard would see him keeping to himself, mostly, until it was time to fight. It was doubtful that he would be put in any position of authority within their team; most people in this area had never heard of J. Keystone, Pugilist, despite his colorful and often dramatic history. It was very possible that he could skirt by as "the Big Guy That Hits Stuff", collect his pay, and move on to the next learning experience.

Still, guarding a merchant caravan was a tricky thing: It formed a staple of income for many fighter-types. Honest enough work if you can get it, sometimes even profitable, depending upon the merchant and the goods being hauled. Often enough, it was one of those mundane undertakings that suddenly and inexorably drew you into something bigger, with more intrigue. A whirlpool, pulling you into an ever-tightening circle of a totally unforeseen series of events, threatening to capsize and slam your carcass into the rocks.

After the year he'd had so far, the chances that would happen again were remote. Astronomical, really.

Within the Inn, things seemed quiet. Only a couple of patrons remained in the common room, despite the evening not being that far along. Perhaps the tense nature of the border skirmish had everyone calling the frivolity to a close early. Perhaps it was the Four-Alarm Arseplosion from before that led to a mass migration elsewhere. Or both. Of the few that remained, there was a mixed-blood orc curled up in front of the low, crackling fire with a familiar wolf, a lady Elf he didn't remember seeing from before looking quite out of place in these surroundings, and the pretty-seeming man with the smile he didn't quite trust.

Keystone turned his head slightly toward Persephone, and in a quiet voice (for him) intoned, "Rain check on that ale, then. Looks as they're shutting down." He thought for a moment, and said aloud, "I'll be taking a nightcap in my room, 'fore I turn in. Knock if'n you need me for anything."

He glanced to the few remaining in the common room and moved to the stairs, quietly making his way to his private rooms. A sip of something to cap off the evening, and very possibly the last real sleep he'd get for quite a while.
