Takumi put his PD away and smiled at the girl, reclining a bit in his seat.
— We're doing quite well as long as murderous psychopathic rascals aren't trying to kill people, while brazenly waving their unsheathed Nobles at everyone's faces.

— Come sit with us, we have a good record for keeping this japery in check, two of two so far.

— By the way, how do you know she's a fencer?
— Takumi then asks Nishka.

Suddenly, the door opened, and in walked in a tall, lanky man. He was dressed in a camouflaged-colored choker and grey jogging pants. His eyes were tired and he had a hassled expression on. The man set his large, clunky bag on the floor, pulled out a folder and proceeded to the front of the class.

"Apologies for being late students. I was asked to help with an investigation over at the avenue. A quick announcement, the mayor has declared that today's classes are only up until twelve in the afternoon, due to some difficulties along the road." He avoided mentioning the terrorist attacks, for obvious reasons.

"Anyway, good morning, I'm your teacher for Small Units Tactics," he said, turning to the whiteboard at the front of the class, before writing down his name. "Daniel Dimalanta, though you may call me Sir Dan."

Clasping his hands together, he looked at the class with a wry smile. "Now, I'll have you know now, I've only recently been authorized to teach a class. Before, I was working with the military as a part of the Reconnaissance and Information Department. Your current Director had asked for me by name, apparently, and I was given a year long seminary to prepare for my tenure here. So . . . well, I hope we get along."

He opened the folder in his hand, and looked at the people present. "Well, I'll be starting role-call now, as I call your name, please introduce yourself. Something like hobbies, expectations, etc. Ready?

"Abraham, Winston. Now, this is someone I'm familiar with. I wonder if you remember me, Mister Abraham?"

"Nishka . . . no last name? Hm, okay then."

"Leroux, Claire."

"Isamaru, Takumi. Huh, Isamaru? Any relation to a certain Isamaru Reika?"

"Mortem, Yuri."
He narrowed his eyes at this name, but stopped and did not go any further than that.

He called all the students one by one until all their names were called.

Just outside the class, a certain brown-and-red headed girl was waiting. Addey Simmons glared at Catalina as she passed through the doors, and shoved her hand in the way. "You . . . you're the bitch who shot me aren't you?" she stated, glaring daggers at the other girl. Other students exiting the room gave the two a wide berth, Catalina's reputation preceding her. They would rather not get caught in the crossfire.

"Isamaru, Takumi. Huh, Isamaru? Any relation to a certain Isamaru Reika?"

— Yes, sir. She is my beloved sister. As for my aspirations... I hope to forge something of worth during the coming year. Something I can be proud of.
Takumi's tone of voice when mentioning her was clipped, prim-and-proper, but devoid of any familial warmth.

"I wonder why he mentioned Reika specifically, and not either Father or Grandfather..." — Takumi thought to himself, listening to the introductions of the other students.

Yuri noticed Sir Dan narrow his eyes when he got to his name then abruptly stop. Yuri didn't try to catch his gaze instead he looked toward the door hoping something would happen but nothing did so he swallowed his pride and begun listening and watching Dan. "I wish to surpass my brothers and father sir, That is my goal." he said in a confident tone.

Nishka popped a bubble in an irritated fashion. Everyone had to pick up on the last name thing didn't they? "Nishka. Hobbies are punching stuff, skipping stones, and long walks on the beach." It was hard to tell if she was being sarcastic or not, the last part was in fact true though you couldn't tell from her voice. "I expect to get into a fight." There that covered everything. Camo dude was kind of hot in an adult way, but was a teacher so probably not that interesting. Nishka didn't even bother fighting back the yawn as she waited for class to continue. In an equally loud voice she replied to gray man, "She's got stabby thingies, duh."

Alexsis sat in her chair with her legs up on the desk and her fingers were almost a blur across the buttons and joysticks of a portable game system that was running a fast-pace reaction game. Her eyes darted across the screen to objects and words that only stayed for a second but it was enough for her to register them in her brain. "Dodge, jump, left, center, up, shoot..." these words blazed through her head but when the teacher walked in the stream of information faltered and fell apart. Her eyes jolted up to stare at him but she was taken back by his military garb and gave a silent half-hearted two finger salute. It wasn't long into the introductions before Alexsis realized that the instructor hadn't called her name not to say she minded but it was strange none the less.

One-by-one, Sir Dan began responding to each individual student.

"Your sister huh? I see, I was aware she had a brother, but I didn't think he'd come all the way here. Don't you have better institutes in Japan? You could've easily made it to Shin-Sakura, with a family background like yours," the teacher stated nonchalantly. "Anyway that's a good aspiration, so I expect you to put in the effort to match it. It's nice to meet you, Takumi"

Looking at Nishka, he gave a slight "Huh," that vaguely sounded like disbelief, before shaking his head and giving her a wry smile. "Nice to meet you Nishka, I can tell you're going to be something different. As for your expectations . . . well, I don't know about all of you, but you will probably be getting into fights, but here's to hoping that they're properly sanctioned and supervised, eh?"

He looked down on the list of names, wondering if he'd forgotten anyone . . . nope, didn't seem like-

"Oh, well, that was a blunder," he said, frowning. "Shorbrooks, Aleksis? Sorry for that, must have gone cross-eyed for a bit there."

"With all due respect, sir, that's not much faith you're showing into your own institution. I considered applying to Shin Sakura, but the exceedingly traditional style of teaching there felt somewhat... stifling. Coupled with several personal reasons to do so, I decided to switch my application to here."

Sir Dan chuckled, seemingly amused with his own lack of belief in Trinidad. "As much as I care for Trinidad and my country, it'd be foolish to think that we've got it better than Shin-Sakura. It's simple fact that they have better facilities than us, and acknowledging a problem is the first step to fixing it, wouldn't you agree? Besides, I doubt the new Director is going to let things continue the way they are. I've yet to meet him, but the Principal - not to mention my immediate superiors in the military - all tell me he's a cut above the rest."

A strange look passed through his eyes, as though he was recalling a far-away place. The moment passed quickly. "Anyway, you've chosen Trinidad, and that's enough for me. I'll be looking forward to what you can do, Mister Takumi."

Catalina felt the buzz in her back pocket, hurriedly her fingers reached out for the PDA.

1 New Email

"You . . . you're the bitch who shot me aren't you?"

The email came on a very bad timing.

The girl called out to her, but her voice was drowned out by the noises of the crowd. Catalina frowned as she saw a familiar face stepping out of the crowd of the on-going traffic of students. She had a bad feeling about it.

*"Fetita," The venmous undertones in her words unnerved more of the students, rushing to stay away from the two. Catalina stared into the girl's eyes before speaking once more. " You are mistaken."

She really needed something to drink. Her throat felt dry, and it was a feeling that she didn’t quite like. Catalina was a person who dislike being called certain names. All she needed to do was throw the first punch, it would have been enough for Catalina to demonstrate her melee skills.

But as of today, she had stayed away from creating trouble. She push a strand of black hair behind her ear and walked away from the student. Her eyes soon fell back on PDA, focusing her attention back to the current email which informed about early dismissal.

"We're doing quite well as long as murderous psychopathic rascals aren't trying to kill people, while brazenly waving their unsheathed Nobles at everyone's faces. Come sit with us, we have a good record for keeping this japery in check, two of two so far."

Claire leant against the desk in front of the rowdy crowd, grinning. "Well, that is nice. As long as I do not get shot by these so called 'psychopathic rascals' then I am sure there will be no fuss. After all, we are here to learn, not to literally backstab each other, no?"

The girl would specifically eye the boy who had pointed the gun to the other girl's head. Sometimes, words and wit really did outshine physical fighting. That glasses boy didn't look impressed in the slightest. And the fact that he had his Noble Arm pointed at the smaller teen? Yeah.

Definitely not impressed.

"In all honesty though, I have no idea who any of you are or how this quarrel came to be, but pointing a gun to someone's head is pretty uncalled for, right? Not that I want to provoke you in any way, I just think it would be better if all of us went home without any bullet holes through our heads."

Sighing in a rather dramatic manner, Claire crossed her arms.

"Oh well, do what you will. I am not too keen to start a physical fight on my first day. It's still so early in the morning I can barely see my own two feet in front of me."

After a few seconds of sarcastic chuckling, Claire took a seat a few metres away from the psychopathic rascals. Just then the teacher had finally decided to stumble into the classroom. If only he'd come earlier then at least one of the students had a higher chance of making it through the day without getting killed.

"Leroux, Claire."

"Ah, yes, that would be me. Let me see… I do enjoy some reading, quite a lot, actually. Gazing up at clear skies really puts my mind at peace, too. I'm sure we could all do with some sky gazing sometime soon."

Claire hid her giggles at that last sentence. Ah, the art of subtlety. Something she always failed at miserably.

Sir Dan then continued with his roll call. Claire was still pretty tired, so she would drift away from the world for a while. Resting her cheek against her palm, the girl focused her eyes on a chipped table leg. Drowsiness always did weird things like that to her.

There was a single knock on the door, hard and sharp, as if someone on the other side lashed out with the knuckles.
Almost without pause, door opened, revealing statuesque brown-skinned girl in military uniform with harversack over one shoulder.
She sweeped the classroom with her golden, almost glowing eyes and frowned, checking something on her ruggedized smartphone and intently examining teacher's face and posture. Finally satisfied, she slightly bowed out of reflex so as to not collide with the doorframe and stepped inside.
Once inside, she shut the door behin herself, then sweeped the classroom once again. Evidently reaching some conclusion, she gave slight nod to the teacher with quiet:
- Sir.
Not waiting for a response nor explaining her late arrival she proceeded to the closest empty chair availible - one beside lightly-brown-haired girl with the glasses that talked about sky and gazing at it. Not giving those strange - for this class, at least - words much thought, Gloria carefully positioned herself on the chair beside the girl and fished in her haversack for the notebook and pencil case - after all, it would not do to miss much of one of the few classes she actually enjoyed in here.

Satisfied with all the students having shown themselves, Sir Dan began writing on the blackboard. "Now, as some of you may know, classes will be half-day today, so that means you'll be leaving early. I've been told that you are to avoid passing by the main road on the way home and go through suburbs instead. Also, it's been recommended that students that are not being picked up by a guardian must at least have another student accompanying them at this time."

When the instructor stepped away from the board, it held the course outline for the subject, and the amount of time they were expected to take on each of them. There were quite a few things on them, but first and foremost, the first thing they were going to tackle was Emergency Evacuation Drills.

"Now, I'll firstly, I would like to point out that this subject is not all about using your Noble Arm in combat in conjunction with other teammates. It's also a simulation of situations that require flexible use of your Noble Arm and the ability to work with anyone as the situation demands. On that note, for the first part of the term, you will still be having set teams of two. I've randomly paired students to work together as a group for this time.

"Abraham, Winston and Miss Nishka."

"Leroux, Claire and Shorbrooks, Aleksis"

"Isamaru, Takumi and Mortem, Yuri."

"Gloria and Marquez, Nate."

"These will be your teammates for the duration of the term."

Afterwards, Sir Dan simply outlined more of what they were going to be doing the term when the bell for recess rang. Turning to the class, he made one final announcement: "We don't have classes after this, but there is going to be a general assembly in the auditorium after recess, so make sure you're there!"

The recess break lasted for an hour and a half, after which all the students began gathering in the auditorium.

@TheWildBunnii

Addey glared at Catalina's back, before snarking. "Yeah, that's right, run like the coward you are. What else did I expect from someone who calls for daddy to help her instead of dealing with it herself."

Without so much as another word, Addey stalked off to her next class.

Auditorium - 1 hour later

The teachers and instructors shuffled around nervously in their seats. They weren't nervous about being in front of all of Trinidad's students. No, they were nervous because of the man that took the leftmost seat among all the teachers. The Principal, being the man right next to the Director, had nearly broken out into a cold sweat.

"S-so, how is your time here, sir?"

The Director stared at him, and for a moment, his breath got caught in his throat. Then the man smiled. "It's been good my friend! Truly, I feel honored to be given the task of having to guide these students. I must thank you for convincing the other instructors to accept my position."

Nodding fervently, the Principal said nothing more. Soon, a student walked up the podium, and on pinned on her chest was a silver triangular badge, with the school coat of arms on it.

The Vice-President of the Student Body Representatives, Katherine Elena, also the Ranked #10 in the whole school.

The calm looking young lady faced the crowd. "Good morning to everyone of you here, and let me say it's a pleasure to see you all here again. The first general assembly of the year has begun, so let us . . ."

For a good few minutes, Katherine went on with the typical lines one expected to hear during a dull speech. Half of the students had dozed off, and many were eagerly awaiting the time when they could just leave. Katherine appeared to not have noticed this, and kept on with her long drawl of a speech. Some of the other teachers were visibly trying to keep themselves awake.

Then, she said something that got everyone awake again. Something many had been waiting for and the only reason why the students were interested in the assembly in the first place.

"I would also like to introduce to all of you a certain someone I'm sure you've all been eager to see," she said, her eyes flickering to the man in the leftmost seat. "It is my honor to introduce our new School Director. Please come on stage sir."

And so, the man himself walked towards the mic, and it was then that something extraordinary happened. It was not magic, or the weather, or even the effect of a Noble Arm. It was simply the mans presence, the gravity he had about him that made the students feel the ground tremble. The world shook and time seemed to have stopped. The auditorium, once filled with the sound of chattering voices and barely concealed snores fell into complete silence.

No one new how to explain it or what exactly had happened, but it was clear . . .

"Good morning students, it's an honor for me to be here."

. . . that with the arrival of this man . . .

"While it is my first time to ever have been in a position like this,"

. . . . gears were set in motion . . .

"but I assure you, I know what I am doing, and I vow to bring this school to greater heights."

. . . and everything . . .

"And while you do not know me, I assure you, I will do my best to know everyone of you,"

. . . would . . .

"for that is my duty as this academy's director."

Change

The man looked at the students, and his gaze seemed to sweep through all of them as if he had just stared at each and everyone one of them directly. A smile graced his face, and the world seemed to tremble in response.

"I stake the name of Angelo Sin it. It's a pleasure to meet all of you."

Takumi wasn't impressed overmuch. He had seen his share of imposing people, mostly businessmen and Father's partners, so another one wasn't something that would be out of the ordinary for him; besides, he had prior exposure.

"So, what do we do now?" - he thought to himself, looking for his new class- and team-mate amongst the other students.

Gloria spent time of the recess break getting acquainted with her new classmates, bugging her teammate to tell her more about this school, memorable fights in which he had participated, tips on the faculty and other things which usually get discussed at the first few meetings, and then continuing this activity with other classmates - someone with less patience could have named it "getting in their faces", if not for her honest and generally friendly disposition.
She stopped talking when girl on the scene started talking about....something official people usually talk at such occasions, probably; Gloria hasn't paid her much attention. In fact, she paid her no attention at all, almost instantly dozing off with very serious, almost solemn expression on her still-raised face - only half-lidded eyes and her deep breathing gave her away. She mastered the art of napping without giving herself away too much years ago, after all.
She almost jumped at the sound of director's voice, violently flinching and sending tremors through her row and one before it as he rapidly suppressed the urge to stand at attention; it was as if she's in the training camp all over again - and her unit's commander catched her sleeping at the duty. With a slight hitch in the voice she eyed director with eyes wide from the shock and whispered to herself, trying to calm down:
- You've gotta be shitting me....
Then, as she remembered where and who she is, her eyes narrowed, turning to scowl fixed at the director. As she listened to him speaking to the audience and feeled pressure of the man's presence rolling around her, her eyes filled with quiet anger. So when he focused his gaze on her - she didn't noticed that he did it to everyone else too - she met it with hard defiance in her eyes. "Who the hell do you think you are, trying to beat us into awe with your little tricks?", quietly fumed Gloria as man walked away. She decided that it would be better to forge the iron while it's hot and looked around her for someone - or something - pertinent to the problem at hand.
Well, it looked like that japanese boy with probably-Arm-induced discoloration of eyes and hair was entirely unimpressed by the director's speech. Which was something, Gloria reasoned, looking around her and finding most of the people still shocked by that man's speech. "Well, it looks like that at least someone here could keep their wits. Good start, then.", she darkly mused, making her way to the said boy as people began to file out.
- Hey, Takumi, right? - Gloria lightly poked him in the shoulder - I need to discuss someting vit you. - her Middle-Eastern accent was a lot more pronounced in her speech than usual. - Also might need your 'elp vit someting.

— Yes, Gloria, what is it?

Takumi surveyed the... exceedingly huge...girl, noting the criss-cross of faded scarring on her skin. "I wonder if those are tribal..." — he mused.
"I need to make a background check for fucking EVERYONE now. Oh man, the going is never easy."

Her accent placed her in somewhere Middle East-ish. Takumi didn't want to force through language aptitudes, so he defaulted to English.
— I am certainly up for some helping right now, it sure beats listening to someone trying to scare the panties off the female part of the faculty.
Takumi's voice is calm and controlled in contrast to the meaning of his words. In fact, she didn't actually see him use any other mode of speech or tone previously as well. It was self-effacing, if, at times, mildly sarcastic.

Nishka stared at the director, Angelo. He was... odd. Not the same as an other adult she'd seen, even if he said stuff like any other. He had power. She was still ticked off about her partner bull shit to be too impressed by him though. She'd be better off on her own than a brat like Winston. After the director's speech a bit of talking sprang up here and there about him and Nishka heard the now distinctive noise of gray man's voice behind her. A grin found its way on her face at his statement. "I doubt you've ever see someone's panties much less taken them off, by force or otherwise." Nishka said confidently without even turning around to face him, though it was obvious who she was talking to. She couldn't imagine what the foreign chick wanted with him, he was kind of boring after all.

Gloria looked around, trying and failing to look inconspicious. It would certainly not do to be overheard by a member of faculty or Student Council sympathetic to the new director, as unlikely as such bonds on the first day of his term might be.

— Are you offering yours for practice? - Takumi deadpanned.
— I would have to decline for the time being, Gloria here wanted some of my time for some reason. Remind me later, will you?
— So, what was it? — he asked Gloria again.

Noticing the purple-haired girl who suddenly voiced her opinion on Takumi's words and was quite obviously in the range of hearing, Gloria, after a moment of deliberation, decided that it's unlikely that she would rat her out to the faculty. She had that air about her that those who disliked authority generally had and been rather detached in the break. Also, it was obvious that there was some disagreement with that teacher pet kid, so there was that, too. She slightly lowered her voice and confided to Takumi:
- Yes, tat's exactly vat I vanted to talk about. Not panties, I mean, um. - she frowned - Tat man, 'e cannot be trusted. Seen men like 'im before. 'e's dangerous, and not in a good vay, if you knov vat I mean. Danger to everyone 'ere. Vould not bat an eye if 'e vould need to trov avay everyone for 'is goals or someting. Need your 'elp in getting info on 'im, 'is 'istory and stuff. You're one vit guts for it, by te looks of it. May need to tell oters to watch teir backs, but carefully, and you also look like you knov hov to spin tat, vat vit your poker-face. - Gloria smiled. - So, vat vould you say?

— I'm up for it, — Takumi shrugged. — I was going to do that anyway. Although you lot can spare me some work on getting backgrounds on you three by telling me something about yourselves upfront if you want me to be magnanimous with the information I would procure..? Not strictly necessary, but I would appreciate it as a gesture of goodwill. I -will- be searching for stuff on the Director, after all. I'd love to see we're in it together.

Yuri was standing slightly to takumi's side and heard Nishka's words deciding to lean forward he spoke. "From the tone of your voice, sounds like you want someone to remove your panties." He said with a smile as he gently blew Air behind her ear as he pulled away and repositioned himself Away from here and more toward takumi, smile plastered on his face. He anticipated that she would be upset but hopefully she knew it was a joke.
