Well even if there's gonna be something limiting transformations from being overused, there's still going to be plenty of it. Because this is legend of dragoon and the big defining element is the dragon power rangers stuff along with the setting stuff that facilitates it.

The only two factors will probably be the amount of actual combat and the fact that all spirits are dormant.

Honestly, I never used the dragoons much besides for healing and when AoE's were neccessary. Which wasn't that often at all. Additions could do more damage and I found them far more interesting. And made maxing the spirits faster since it's based in SP gained. lol

Well I used them all the time. Like constantly, I think I enjoyed the cinematics more than anything else.

I only used them during boss battles.

The transformation mechanic could have been better thought out and yeah additions are not only better at times but more important since only by grinding additions could get attacks increase your dragoon levels and also get new moves that charge the meter fast and shit out loads of damage while at it.

Then again the game is weirdly janky at times for being a big Sony first party title. You got some translation issues in the script, the weird camera gimmick at the epilogue which makes shit look ugly and blurry or like how Kongol is pretty incomplete and is the only one who's dragoon spirit can be gotten without going through plot.

I didn't like how Kongol had, what? Three additions while everyone else had five or six? Or how he only had two magics vs three for everyone else. I guess when you are damn strong, you only need a little.

That said, it was a really good concept. They left out a lot of details, which, gives people like us the opportunity to fill them in. I hope you guys like what I'm doing with it. :)

Kongol's weirdness makes me think that the game had some other direction that didn't materialize and got cut. Honestly I don't thinks there's too much missing details in the game unless you count the mysterious sequel that was scrapped by Sony.

Although honestly I'd rather an updated re-work re-release type thing where you obviously get a graphical upgrade but where they polish the gameplay and translation.

There are actually a few things that were never explained. I won't get into it, though. I don't want to give anything away. :)

I would love a remake. I really enjoyed the story. I would also like a sequel. Too bad many other people don't feel the same, or we might actually get one. :(

It looks like it opens up the ground and shoots out a hot wind..? o.o That isn't very earthy.
We'll see about changing some of the magics.

Was thinking one could be drilling with rocks and something involving molten metal or just plain metal for some higher level attack.

Perhaps something with mud or quicksand as an immobilizing spell.

The mud/quicksand one is viable, though I am unsure that doing anything metal would be helpful.. Perhaps a cocoon of metals for protection? I dunno.

Would have to flesh that out a bit. Let me know when you have something in mind.
