Jalaryian Technology, especially that of the automated variety, centers around and is powered by the Grana AI. The Jalaryians consider such technology blessed and sacred. Automated Drones are a rarity within the Ascendancy, those that are present are seen and often do act as living extensions of the God Grana. Within the Ascendancy, advanced and extensive Cybernetics are commonplace among the Jalaryian Elite, seeing these modifications as way to become closer to Grana. For the lower classes, older forms and models of cybernetic augments are often the few options available for the truly devote.
History:
Government Description:
The Ascendancy is a Theocratic Monarchy under the rule of its God, Grana, an Ancient AI construct of great power. Under Grana are the general caretakers, the Ecclesiarchy. The Jalaryian Ecclesiarchy functions both as the state church and central governing body of the Ascendancy. Promoting and spreading the Light of Grana and keeping order within the borders of the Ascendancy. Such Order is maintained by its secretive enforcement wing, the Inquisition.
Cultural/Religious Description:
The culture of Jalaryian Ascendancy is one of piety, devotion and order. Most citizens of the Ascendancy strive to become faithful servants of Grana, and to be worthy one day to become one with their god on the day of their death. Despite some semblance of peace and prosperity, it is far from it. Although a great many are content with their lives, many other citizens think otherwise, and often are marked as either apostates or heretics, and often will be hunted down by the Inquisitors.

Jalaryians have differing views towards technology, specifically technology of native origin. Nearly all pieces of tech is seen as a gift from Grana, who powers it all from the Ascendant Palace on Jalaryias, and as such, revered specific pieces of technology as holy. With such views, the Ascendancy is by far one of the centers of Cybernetic technology.

The Sin Stars and Pleasure Spheres of the Eleutherios Climax are the culmination of millenia of dissonant philosophies, cultish religious meddling and primal instinct of a multitude of species across the galaxy. The weird mix of fetishistic ritual and the anarchic nature of unchecked pleasure have culminated in a taboo society of hedonists and utilitarianists.

Hidden in a distant sector of the galaxy, and reached only by Tzthaari Warp Gates is the center of galactic pleasure. The Eleutherios Climax is a loosely joined alliance of planets and stylistically terraformed habi-spheres devoted to various and myriad acts of debauchery, sin, pleasure, obscenity, depravity and so on. The Calzonit



The Calzonit are a ancient, powerful species whose origins lie on a world where the seas dried up millions of years ago. Their kind for centuries have traveled the stars as merchants and conquerors all the same.

They are nearly eight feet tall on average, with bristled bodies and a distinctive head which seems to have no mouth- only thousands of tiny, square eyes. They do have a mouth, but it is a small mouth under their eyes right above their small, triangular chin. Their head has elaborate hair patterns which come in numerous fashions and arrays, often sprouting from the top of their lenses and to the sides. Their brain you see, is not in their "head", it is in their body. The Calzonit breathe through their back instead of their head, you see.

Calzonit as a species are hermaphroditic, with a patterns of intercourse that far more resembles that of a worm than a human. After intercourse, one or even both of the breeding Calzonit may grow a tumor-like external fetus that grows on them until it is six inches in size. After which, the fetus becomes a baby and simply falls off the parent to be nurtured by its parent to working age.

The Calzonit as a species are extremely proud of their nature- and look down upon humans as a degenerative form of themselves. They mock the humans who see them as anything other than the ideal form. Yet, humans are widespread and so as a reality of life openly deal with them and other species. Even hive minds the Calzonit begrudgingly tolerate.

The Abyssal belief system is one based on the ideal worker; the worker is above all in their society. Those who work hardest and most diligent are who lead, the lazy are euthanized. Their society, despite its unitary pretenses values aesthetics with massive temples and statues painstakingly built as monuments to the labor, of which is not a means as with human society, but an end of itself. Or, the Abyssals do not work towards anything but greater profession. There is no real sense of leadership among the Abyssals, which means they are not terribly centralized. Instead it is a lose network of watchmen and planetary fiefdoms ruled by oligarchies of professionals that holds the Abyssal Domain together. Each planet ruled by the Abyssal Domain has a militia fleet for defense, with the domain as a whole having a military fleet ran by a co-culture within the Domains that act as guardians, unwavering in their endless duty to keep the workers free from disruption by slavers and other such banditry.

The faith of the Domain is based in the ideal of reincarnation; for after one dies, they are born once more to continue their work. The perpetual labor has been instilled into the minds of those in the Domain by how in their long history every time they had a leader, they grew decadent and society collapsed. Every time. The faith of the Domain has no true origin; rather it is convergence of hundreds of wise individuals who fundamentally re-ordered civilization in a grand revolution that consumed their whole home world. The old ways were purged, systemically wiped out and in its place the instilled purpose of life being to wage war against entropy and chaos, to forever toil is perfection. There is no utopia, for utopia is a state of non-working, of non-living. And is doomed to disaster. There is no end to the grandest task, and no leader can be trusted to achieve these ends- it must be held true from the lowest echelons to the highest echelons of society that the meaning of existence is endless, fulfilling toil and to labor forever and ever more.

The qulseoc rejection of reincarnation confuses the abyssals every time, for it would seem the qulseoc do not understand why it is that any belief system where death is stated permanent is a failed belief system.

The Calzonit aren't suppossed to be a monoculture even if the unitary society of the Domain seems to indicate such- if someone else wants to make a calzonit culture seperate from the Domains feel free, my species is public domain.

I am assuming this RP to be stylized and not the 'tryhard sci-fi opera' genre that always ends in disaster so I will not fret about scale here. I'll just assume 99.9% of all stars in the galaxy to be totally void of any resources beyond rock, iron, gas and ice.

Name: The qulseoc technocracy
Species: the qulseoc. A species of amphibious cephalopods characterized by weak physiques and strong mental prowess. Both of which have grown ever more severe in scope due to gene therapy intent on expanding their already mighty brains. Their bodies are of a shifting color depending on their mood and with what intent they might be talking to someone at that moment. Their default coloration is a muted shade of brown, with hotter colors like red and yellow signifying heightened emotional states whereas colder colors indicate an unusual level of calmness or reservation.They reproduce ovipariously, with the female typically laying clutches of five to six eggs which hatch within five to six months.

The typical low to middle class qulseoc lives only for a period of about 80 years. Around eight of which are spent growing up after which they typically join the active workforce population for about fifty years. Upper-class Culseoq are considered too important to ever stop their work however, and as such see their lives extended greatly to a state of nigh on biological immortality.

Technology:Qulseoc technology is their pride and joy. They have built a large part of their society around the development and advancement of technology, regardless of moral or ethical implications. This has led them to great strides in genetic manipulation, both of animals and of sentient beings. Furthermore, as a physically weak species that became sentient seemingly more by luck than anything else, another technological focus of them has been robotics and weaponry. This to the point that the average qulseoc could be mistaken for a very advanced robot were it not for the fact their utilitarian designs are rather infamous in how aesthetically boring they are.

History:The qulseoc formed out of the primordial soup of a mostly land-covered planet they refer to as Krilles. For a long time, the primal squids' lives were short and brutal. Their species only barely hanging on due to quick reproduction and the subtle beginnings of their later advanced intelligence giving them just the small edge they needed. To their fortune, some great natural disaster heavily upset the biosphere, creating an evolutionary bottleneck in which they came out on top.

The upstart stages of their civilization already saw them favoring cooperation and intelligence over brute force, and it was quickly established that not the strongest, but the brainiest were the most successful.

This maxim has survived all the way to the present day, where it has come to define the way their society is organized.

Government: The qulseoc's government is heavily based upon merit. With the most competent amongst them getting the most resources to further the cause of their entire kind with. The ruling class consists of great scientists, engineers, and even some less hard sciences like psychologists. Titles, lands and resources are allotted based upon past contributions that a qulseoc has made to society, with the leading minds in fields being granted overlordship over their colleagues in their respective field of study and allowing them to define the focus that their shared research projects will generally follow. Currently, the most influential quelsoc of this time is undoubtedly Grand overseer Marianas-5. Overseer of the physicist school, Discoverer of FTL travel.

Culture and religion: Qulseoc culture is quite utilitarian and meritocratic in nature. With a strong push for citizens to focus their lives on things directly beneficial to society. Strong automation of industry has made manual labor quite obsolete, and so even the lowest classes of workers have some sort of education, even if it's in a rather mundane field like robot maintenance. Opportunities for advancement are nominally present for all layers of society, but actual economic and social mobility for the lower classes is slim to nonexistent due to a combination of bureaucracy and societal entrenchment of the higher classes. Most Qulseoc are not really upset at this state of affairs due to a strong conditioning to accept that those of higher intelligence deserve more authority.

When it comes to religion, Qulseoc take quite a scientific approach. That being that they acknowledge its existence as a societal construct, but mostly consider themselves to be above it. At least until such a time as when one can present them with factually correct and scientific proof that a being of divine nature does in fact exist. So far, this implicit challenge to all religions out there has gone unchallenged.

Species Description: The Savarogs as a species are a rugged and enduring lot, with barely any pain receptors and a skin thick enough to more or less stop small calibre firearms. The Savarogs as a race are best described as a humanoid reptilian sort, these hulking brutes of muscle and leather-like skin are fearsome foes when compared to the average human due to bear-like strength and an almost stupidly high endurance. Their intelligence is often, somewhat diminished, being just below the normal human averages, though as a species some among their ranks do follow in fields of science and discovery.

Gender Dimorphism:
There is quite a lot of sexual dimorphism between the two genders, as male Savarogs are hulking creatures, standing at roughly 2.5 Metres tall and weighing between 600lb. to 800lb. at the very most. Male Savarogs are normally of a rusty colouration, with anything from shades of yellow up to crimson being quite common, all males also sport a rather fearsome pair of tusks upon their bottom jaw – while only useful when unarmed, it is seen as honourable combat and the male with the biggest tusks is also likely to be in a position of power.
Female Savarogs are far more delicate than males of their species, while a male Savarog may survive numerous bullets and other such weapons, the female Savarogs are far less durable, being only somewhat above humans in terms of being able to take punishment. Many female Savarogs sport somewhat brighter colours than their male counterparts as well, as some may even have something resembling a bluish colouration.

Reproduction:
The Savarogs reproduce via egg-laying. However, it is also worthy of noting that female Savarog produced a tremendous amount of eggs in each clutch. Up to two dozen, and many do make it to maturity...

Technological Description: Savarog technology is anything but beautiful. They are a harsh race, and their technology reflects this. Their technolology is crude but more or less always seems to work, no matter the situation and the sheer amount of grim that the tech may have been exposed to it always seems to work. Their navy is a fleet of crude yet nigh on impossible to outright destroy, given their nature for building such durable technology.

Savarog weapons are brutal. Anyone who has seen them used will attest, their simplistic yet utterly horrific effects are infamous with many 'squishier' races that are in or near the Savarog's territories.

However, in recent history, the Savarogs have found a race that is willing to look past their bloodthirsty nature – the Qulseoc. These highly advanced creatures have almost taken the Savarogs under their wing, or rather, tentacle.

History:The Savarogs dragged themselves from the waters of evolution upon their, once prime and beauteous world of Khragk – a world which was once filled with teeming forests and oceans brimming with life, now reduced to deserts and scrub lands. For the longest time, the proto-Savarogs had difficult lives as their world eventually fell into what can only be described as a massive biological arms race as each animal and primitive species (for they shared this world with many others) raced in an ever quickening race to become dominant.

The tribal history of the Savarogs is rich, their world's caves being filled with the art and long-lasting pieces of both Savarog and the numerous other intelligent life forms early cultures.Their massed biological war was still raging, and would do so until some...unthinking, Savarogs proposed a final solution.

As gathered, the Savarogs when they entered an age not unlike our own were still warlike, but their focus was forever on the nuclear as a method of securing them...and only them, as this world's owners. Day and night, the Savarog's (united against a common foe, the Savarog's will band together, unlike the tribes of today) industries churned out dangerous weapons that could exterminate whole ecosystems with the press of a button. Such a day came, one evening wherein 99% of all life on their planet was consumed in radioactive flame. Those that survived were exposed to radiation lethal enough to kill a human hundreds of times over.

However, through some trick of fate or unknown advantage the Savarog's which were not inside the indomitable fortress cities did not die of the radiation, granted many died of explosions and the latent nuclear winters, were almost stronger for it but feral – the origins of the Savarog's favoured animal the Vuagh, like Human and...highly radioactive dog. That was, for a period, their society. The Savarog's survived where almost all else died, their forests of life and oceans of opportunity reduced to sand and barren wastes...but them as a species, for once, being able to claim dominance.

Tribal warfare, horrid massacres, all happened after. Even in their modern age, the Savarog's were barely as advanced as humans, though avid in colonising, until they met the Quelseoc.

Cultural/Religious Description: While not really a popular belief system among the whole populace, many of the Savarogs have their own pantheon of various different gods. In total, the Savarogs have thirteen gods in total, however, the only real god in which they – as a race – uphold is Jodrak, Lord of Iron. Worship however, has been weak since meeting the atheist Qulsoec.

As a whole, the Savarogs are a brutish and warlike culture that views themselves as the absolute superiour creature – not out of arrogance, but purly because on their worlds they literally are that. Savarog culture and hierarchy is based purely on might makes right, and in that the strongest (or in rare cases the most manipulative) Savarog wins dominance by simply beating the current leader in some manner of blood sport. At the top of the hierarchy is the tribal emperors, each lording over their own tribe, and at the bottom are outsider races (Qelsoec are honourary Savarogs when it comes to social ranking) and slaves of all races.
Savarogs are overall a deeply cultural people, and in that they are stubborn and highly traditionalist. Savarogs push with vigour that their culture must not be shaped and molded by any sorts of outsider race that is seen as inferior to the Savarogs themselves. Males are encouraged to become soldiers, or otherwise work in the base industry that the Savarogs have, while females are downright expected to be little more than homemakers and child-bearers.

Species Description: Many races laboured under the name of Mutlagi. The land is ruled by noble Kurts, wolfish men of great martial prowess. The revolution is driven by the harpy Vamkart, hard mountain clansmen living in hard mountain worlds. Hyasla, wily lion-like hyena-men, travel tirelessly throughout the empire to perpetuate the silicon trade. On the outskirts of galactic space, locust Cozacs roam nomadically in their mighty tribes. And in their verdant watermarsh planets farm the mantis Liszka, outstanding bureaucrats and the source of the most feared soldiers in the empire.

Technological Description: [PENDING LORE FINALISATION]The Golden Palace-Planet of Kralshehir held a monopoly on the silicon god-machines relied upon to warp from planet to planet. After the slow decline of the Mutlagi, the imperial capital lost its shine. More competitive traders usurped the Kurtiye crown, and now the empire relies upon its regional production. This production is large. Factory-planets line the Vamkarta heartlands; Liszka swarm over watervine-fields and maxigrasses. Hyasla traders make the most of what they can, while Cozacs mine and salvage on the edge of space. Kurtiye’s industry is large, although its edge is lost; it could rise again and dominate the silicon market -- or fall into total stagnation.

History: The Kurtiye raiders invaded long ago. They burned planets, brought down temples and subjugated kings. They forged a golden empire amid the ruins of the old Liszkantines and Hyaslanids -- one that lasted a thousand years. Long reigned the Mutlagi, Absolute Monarch. Long lived his Soldier’s Bureaucracy, built on the back of the slave-race Liszka. Long was the arm of Kurtish power.

Long past are those glory days. The empire stagnated. The Mutlagi claimed all-authority, and hoarded all power for himself. His Uzassary servants enforced the status quo, their greed moving them to keep their own people slaves and to alienate the Kurtish aristocracy. And then came Bad Kral Urtahil.

The people could only take so much.

The Kurts rebelled. They raised a righteous army of noble Askas, fuelled by the fires of liberalism. Every noble equal! The Kral shall reign but shall not govern! Kralshehir burned. But it was not enough for the slave races. Their master may change, but the whip would still flick. So they rebelled.

A peasant’s army. Made of stout militiamen. Vamkarta struck from their mountain homes and stoked the fires of revolution beneath peaceful, populous, powerful Liszk. They had not forgotten what race the Mutlaga’s praetorian guard were. And they would not stop at democracy. They would not stop until all the galaxy laboured as one society, one -- satrap. One commune.

The Mutlagi has lost his head. The roads ran red with the blood of the dead. No more Mutlag, no more Uzassary. Uneasy peace, silent war between the revolutionary Kurts and the revolutionary freemen.

Government Description: The Revolutionary Hall. A palace commandeered -- Mutlag posters torn down and replaced with hasty red flags. Not an official parliament. Just a meeting place, between the proud young Kurtler and the rugged dust-worn wolni. Both armed with long knives.

Cultural/Religious Description: There are two factions. The Young Kurts, and the Ozgerssary. The Young Kurts are committed to democracy, to -- noble control. The Ozgerssary are radical. They are consumed by revolutionary fervour. And they are very well armed. They control the largest army. They are the army.

The perpetual labor has been instilled into the minds of those in the Domain by how in their long history every time they had a leader, they grew decadent and society collapsed. Every time. The faith of the Domain has no true origin; rather it is convergence of hundreds of wise individuals who fundamentally re-ordered civilization in a grand revolution that consumed their whole home world. The old ways were purged, systemically wiped out and in its place the instilled purpose of life being to wage war against entropy and chaos, to forever toil is perfection. There is no utopia, for utopia is a state of non-working, of non-living. And is doomed to disaster. There is no end to the grandest task, and no leader can be trusted to achieve these ends- it must be held true from the lowest echelons to the highest echelons of society that the meaning of existence is endless, fulfilling toil and to labor forever and ever more.

The qulseoc rejection of reincarnation confuses the abyssals every time, for it would seem the qulseoc do not understand why it is that any belief system where death is stated permanent is a failed belief system.

The Calzonit aren't suppossed to be a monoculture even if the unitary society of the Domain seems to indicate such- if someone else wants to make a calzonit culture seperate from the Domains feel free, my species is public domain.

I am assuming this RP to be stylized and not the 'tryhard sci-fi opera' genre that always ends in disaster so I will not fret about scale here. I'll just assume 99.9% of all stars in the galaxy to be totally void of any resources beyond rock, iron, gas and ice.

I've decided to officially start the IC.
Just remember that IC posts are from the perspective of a Character (typically your nations leader and other holders of political power such as councilors or rebel leaders) who is going through their day and making decisions.
Also, messages to different nations shall be put in a hider stating what nation it is addressed too. If it is in a hider it means that any nation not addressed cannot act on what is being said in that message, even if it involves war with your nation.

Well, relations would likely be difficult due to differing philosophies, but war isn't really in the interests of the qulseoc. If you want to go to war with them, that's your perogative, but the only war they'll start over this matter will be one fought in a public debate.
