Current You know you're getting old when you start getting excited after discovering a new cleaning product that makes it SO, SO MUCH easier to clean stains from the bathroom floor.

I've just realized that in all the 9 years I've been part of this site, I've never had to change my name, make an alt account or anything like that!

Bio

"Humanity takes great pride in three things. Their willpower, their greed and their mortality.

Their will and endless greed allows them to grow and ascend past other creatures
But their mortality denies them divinity

It's a delightful purgatory between being Fallen and being Divine"

The nerve under the armpit is quite big.
Try to find it and apply some pressure. It hurts like hell.

If someone punches you and you dodge, their arm will be fully extended for a sec.
@Azereiah

Well, its not exactly a pressure point, but crushing one's windpipe can result in a pretty unpleasant death.
A lot of other "weak spots" or pressure points can be quite devastating (stomach, carotid artery, etc.)
While the "damage" is not caused directly by the strike, its still there.

The actual "death touch" or dim mak in Cantonese is a very controversial technique. Some say its exaggeration, others go as far as saying that Bruce Lee's death was caused by this technique ()

I also believe that there is some exaggeration to this. Death can occur, but its by no means a direct consequence of one of those techniques. Only coincidence. Many different factors that coincidentally caused a lethal injury.

But, still, its not something to be immediately disposed as fraudulent.
For example, if i said to you that its possible to throw a sewing needle with enough force to pierce tempered glass, would you believe it?
But actually, someone has already done it.

Yet, pressure points can be used in combat, but the maximum they can do is inflict a lot of pain, cause dizziness, numbness & etc
Original music is by HK et les saltimbanks -le troubadour

Aimée Bellerose

Several hours later, after most of the soldiers were already too drunk to stand up or were already in their tents, Aimée was laying down looking to the night sky. Her body was tired, but it was good. She had a lot of fun that evening. She heard a lot of stories, met a lot of interesting people, had many surprises...
She didn't even remember the last time she had that much fun. Maybe she should hang around for a little more. The Blood Rose Irregulars were a very interesting and merry bunch. The battles were exciting, the stories, even more so...

"Yeah... Maybe I should consider joining the Blood Rose Irregulars for good." She said to herself with a sigh.
"The stars are beautiful today." She said to no one in particular, looking to the night sky.

The stars were shining bright in the sky. A beautiful full moon illuminated the night with its silver glow.
Aimée lifted her legs, covering the moon with her feet, moving them around almost like she was playing with the moon, spinning it with her feet.
It was funny, even with death, wars, battles and disgraces, she was always with a smile on her face. All the Belleroses always had a smile on their faces. Some said it was a curse that all the Bellerose carried. Aimée liked to think it was a blessing. The Bellerose were always entertaining people. On their own way, they tried to make the world a better place, with smiles, music, jokes, dances...
Even if it wasn't enough to change the world, it was just enough to bring a smile to the face of the people who watched them.

Still playing with her legs and the moon, she started to sing to herself. Her voice had a happy, cheerful tone, the music was enjoyable, it inspired those who heard it to dance, but the lyrics were almost a lament.

Yeah. They're actual pressure points. Their effects and even locations are accurate (I'm not an specialist but...)

As far as their use on actual combat goes, realistically one could disable or even lethally injure someone. But hitting them accurately while on combat is another story. It requires precision, agility and above all else, extremely specific situations.

EX: if someone punches you, but they miss/you dodge/"deflect" their punch, you could hit the nerve just below the armpit (its a pretty big one, hard to miss.) with a quick strike.
@FallenTrinity

Nice! That sounds awesome!
@FallenTrinity

Agreed. I guess I'm overthinking it because I know that ojutai is male.
But again, Dromoka and Atarka, two freaking brutal and badass dragonlords are female.

I guess Ojutai's delicate and slim body could be seen as rather feminine
Yeah... I know that dragons are not mammals, so the actual differences from male to female are almost nonexistent.

Buut I'm still uncertain:

@Silver Carrot

The points I used are real acupressure points. More specifically Lung 5 and Lung 3
Meilin Hua

"Interesting." Meilin said, after hearing Mina's answer.
"You recognize your own weaknesses, and you seek to make up for them using training and techniques." She said to her, satisfied with her answer.
"Knowing your own weaknesses, limits and accepting them is a very important step, Mina. Its something that many people struggle with."
"I can teach you what I know, but how much you will be able to learn and how well you will be capable of applying this knowledge is up to you."
"Eastern martial arts, unlike western ones isn't just about the fighting. Its teachings and lessons are far more than just about combat. That is one reason why they are so lethal. If you keep your mind open to their teachings, you will learn to know not only yourself and your body better, but help you to achieve balance within your own body and the energies that surround you." she said, gently grabbing the girl's arms.
"You will know not only how to harm," she said, carefully pressing two acupressure points, one on the cubital crease and one just below the end of the axillary fold, making her arm become numb, paralyzed and making her feel a sharp, but brief pain.
"But also, how to heal." she said, pressing another point, this time on the outer surface of the forearm, below the elbow crease and massaging it for 3 seconds, making her arm go back to normal.
"Balance, equilibrium, Tao... The base of every eastern martial art."

"I feel this may be a good match, Meilin. Kasuke here was a great help with seating unconscious students during detentions last year. I'm surprised, though, Mina. I hadn't thought of you as the sort to take part in elective martial arts classes," She heard Daler speaking, interrupting her small lecture.

"That is good to hear. You must be a very responsible girl." she said to her.
"Before I can start to teach you, you must understand that above everything else, you need to strive for emotional and physical balance. The things you will learn are dangerous. You need to be responsible on how to use them."
