@alexfangtalon That's a good idea. Perhaps they distort perception with magic, making it hard to actually figure out their location while peppering the pair with long ranged attacks to keep them moving and on their feet? Possibly targeting Nao with short ranged fighters and Alex with longer ranged ones?

Oh! Maybe like a forest labryth that distorts the senses and enemies just semester to meld in amd out of the woodwork.

@alexfangtalon okay sorry sorry. Work has been wacky but I'm back now! So this is my idea. A three objective obstacle course, using obstacle loosely. Since this is to work on teamwork and the basis of team work is trust these would be trust excersizes!

Phase 1: Running through New York streets in a severe earthquake but have been seperated by a massive Crack kn the street while trying to reach the machine causing the problem at the end. The catch is debris are constantly falling but we can only see the debris falling on the other side, not our own. Getting hit ends the simulation.

Phase 2: As soon as the machine is reached, the scene changes and the we are falling through the sky at 18,000 feet with a single parachute pack between us. Below, a lake sits still. Several orbs surround the pair and take aim, obviously trying to sabotage the pack. Failing to survive the fall ends the simulation.

Phase 3: Having a hard time thinking this one up honestly :P.

Admittedly, I'm assuming the technology would be able to handle this without killing a person.

As Mr. Lang read out the partner choices and he sighed with relief. At least he was running this with someone he knew well. Alex was one of the few people he spoke to consistently. Plus, it meant he wouldn't feel awkward or reserved when using magic. Academy magic was, for a lack of a better term, dull. They focused on defensive magics in starter classes and after showing that he could produce better with a thought and a gesture, the Academy advanced him relatively quickly. Even "advanced" classes pushed offensive magics as last case options. He hated to admit it but it was boring. Dark magic flooded one's being with an addictive euphoria. He was working on relying more on the newer magic but it was hard.

"How do you wanna do this. I know whenever I usually do these things they throw some sort of magic at me since it's my weak spot. Got any preference on who leads."

"Honestly, you should lead. Your reflexes are faster than mine and the extra distance may give me some cushion for casting spells." Nao responded softly. He placed his bag in the area for personal belongings after pulling out his journal. He frowned slightly. An obstacle course hm? What should he use for it. A shielding spell, an invisibility spell, a... He snapped his fingerings as an idea hit him.

Flipping through the journal, he found the most recently added one. A flight enchantment. So far he could only sustain the spell for a few minutes tops but getting a head start on the casting wouldn't hurt. Nao chanted for a few moments, stopping amd restarting after he stumbled over a few words, before a purple glow covered him. He rose a few inches off the ground and smiled, slipping his journal into the pocket of his lab coat.

Oh gods, now I'm thinking that the chemistry buffs and magic users filled the dorms with hundreds of bunnies that turned into glitter bombs when touched. Glitter is literally the best prank item ever cause it never gets out! Literally the worst.

I'm not going to lie, I have an imagine of Nao having discovered glitter his first year at school and secretly stashing it in his bag cause it's so pretty.

And clubs? Hm, I expect a ton of hero worship clubs. And a masive photography club. With flight, phase shifting, and teleportarion, imagine the angles they can get. They are probably an amazing place to hone your skills. I just imagine photography students trying to apply to the school just to be apart of that.
And journalism club would be the busiest one really. With all the near disasters that must occur from bringing all these people together in one space, the journalism club is probably crazy. I imagine one of them running up to a person literally spewing flames at another, trying to get the dirt on the situation despite the now burning hair.
