Earth, it's the year 2021
One billion people will soon shuffle off this mortal coil without dying. The Christians call this event, "The Rapture". Around thirty pecent of Catholics, and many other people around the world will simply vanish off the planet's surface with no explanation.
After finding themselves in an Edenic dimension, full of beautiful life, peace, animals and flora that Vincent Van Goh, could only dream of. Within hours, days, sometimes weeks or later, people begin finding themselves gifted with paranormal powers.
The other six billion inhabitants on Earth, deal with the aftermath of one billion people suddenly missing from the planet. Airplanes crashing, trains wrecking, cars wrecking, surgeons and patients disappearing from delicate procedures, entire Churches, sometimes half a Church missing during a Pastor's service minutes after entering the Church, and on and on it goes, not even including children and spouses separated from their loved ones.
A deal is signed in the Middle East, and a charming, intelligent leader who has risen in the European Union's Ranks has brought peace between Israel and it's neighbors. Deities from mythologies around the world enter Earth's atmosphere, fallen angels, demons and creatures of myth find a home on Planet Earth once again. The Pontiff has given his absolute loyalty and support to this new world leader, Darren Cassius, as the Popes of the past crowned the Charlemagnes and other Kings of Europe.
Darren has made provisions to provide for the starving across the world, brought ecumenical religion together, enforcing peace between everyone of all faiths, and has begun to end political strife across the world as well. China and Russia still have un-nerving plans for the rest of the world, and of course North Korea just doesn't seem co-operative with the world's plans either.
Over here in the United States, were unsure what to do. Fifteen million people disappeared from the Cataclysm, as the world now calls it, and Darren Cassius seems to have all the answers to the world's problems. But that's just the problem. He seems to good to be true. We could enter the New Order if we wanted, but it's a hesitant thing, since Conservative beliefs have grown in the past five years.
Behind the scenes, Darren Cassius'es organization are raising special children capable of enormous psychic and psionic powers, sometimes initiating children into magical traditions and supernatural ways to serve the state. Also, whispers abound of corruption growing in the Vatican and throughout the Catholic Church in the world. Some even whisper of Satanism infiltrating Bishops and even Cardinals.
