I enjoy casual (albeit structured) role playing without many restrictions. Preferred genres are Fantasy, Drama, and Adventure, as well as anything with a psychological twist. Preferred partners can spell and write well consistently without much thought about it, and are patient. I won't stick around if you're impatient.

Awakening

Late Spring | Clear SkiesRun Dates: Sat & Sun (1pm EST)

The golden fingers of dawn stretched across the briny eastern coasts of Gemflors. Scattered atop the dark pines of her woods and through the twisted boughs of oak and maple stray light spun, to brighten the hidden thickets and spring upon the field grass. And from this coast, ushering an early sigh through newborn leaves, to the next, where the dewy vestiges of night remained draped over den and canopy, the wind stirred life back into the land. From peak to plain, morning was and had come.

In low places where shadow yet lay, a spear and a shield lay atop a knoll; homes for moss. As sun rose higher, the wintry magnificence of the mountaintops steamed. Somewhere, a ragdh unburies his door with a shovel, and elk bound through high grasses. When they turn their gazes to the horizons to which they are familiar, a cloudless and blush sky will greet them, nearly blue, and a breeze will blow in, promising clean weather. That will be the future, however, for as of now they work in preparation, as many do at the small hours of morning.

With Gemflors' every exhale the peace that has come to her can be heard. In every cast of light her wonder beckons, renewed, invigorated, in the absence of war cry, in solitude from fear. A horse snorts in the sun; a man awakens beside his wife; a brook babbles along green highways. Though not all may recognize it, these are the days of plenty. And plenty shall all have of them.

Auctamos, Blu, Yorsiccos

The sun is cresting the distant hills for those of you who can see it. A layer of fine mist covers the countryside, peasants have been awake for the last several hours farming their own land, and the merchants are already setting up for business in Susorex. The king of Heil and Gillsommr has decided to summer in Palace Errington of Susorex, where he has taken an unusual break from family, disappearing for long stretches in his room. This country's southern mountains are cool yet dry.

Ollo

Ledwyn's Tune is nestled between patches of deciduous timberland, along a well-traveled road said to run from Heil's capital, Suyu an Minos, to the busy market streets of Susorex in Gillsommr. Saffron light spills over the fields, lighting up the thatch roofs of tavern and the sprinkling of farmland homes surrounding it. Ledwyn's Tune's keep has been up since before dawn, ordering the servants to freshen the hay and sending fetchers for this or that supply.

Daxterian, Jasilkal, Someyo

The central lowlands of Badlessi are still cloaked in a fine cast of night. It is cool, for now, but in a few hours that will change; the scorch of midday is coming to the plains. The final stars are winking "goodnight," even far to the north and south. The northern highlands, where nightmares are said to lie, are burning deep bronze, and shadow has fled into the crags. In the southern Herryway Woods the land is cool and dry, the thick canopy traps night in.

Torinazuril, Dio

Though dawn is still a couple hours away in the west, peasants are already awake to tend to their crops before the heat of the day. Merchants are loading their carts or assembling their wares in anticipation for a day of barter. The cities will be quiet still and the guard looking for those who seek to utilize the cover of early morning to their advantage. The countryside and wildland forests will be quieter still, as not even game has risen to graze, though many predators have slunk off to bed.

It is time for the protagonists of this adventure to decide their beginning.

@MaeLooks good, Mae. Accepted.

Okay. So it sounds like weekends are the best definitive, which is good. Because after this next weekend I might be too exhausted in the evenings to do much during the week. I'll jot down Saturday and Sunday as our official dates (1pm for me, roughly 5pm for anyone GMT), if that works. I plan on going ahead and posting the Introductory IC post today and everyone is welcome to start in after that to get our posts ordered.

Okay, everyone,

Basically everything is set up for starting the RP! Hoorah. But before we begin, I've mentioned it briefly before and figure now's as good a time as any to hash out the details: I was wondering what everyone thinks about logging in together at certain times during the week? These needn't be strict days, as I know that my schedule won't always be the same and assume none of yours will be either, but to have at least a couple days figured out in advance that are dedicated to the role play would make my job a bit simpler and, in my opinion, make the experience more dynamic.

So what days and hours does everyone have available? Over here I have evenings (8-10PM EDT / UTC-4) on weekdays and all hours on weekends.
@ColtshanGot it. Wow. That's one nasty STD. Unfortunately, I'm not sure it quite works with the universe. I'm sure there are diseases that some races carry that can infect others, and I'm sure STDs exist, but something like that would be pretty world-breaking. I understand what you were saying now though.

@MaeWe could consider Lorekeeping to include knowledge of her homeland and culture and history. She wouldn't have a Nature specialization, but she at least won't be accidentally picking and eating poisonous fruit that probably she should know about. xD How does that sound?

@The Bork LazerThe sympi are this world's version of a vampire. The one I created, at any rate. The differences are that they don't have fangs and aren't technically dead (their hearts beat).

@SilverPawLooks good! Accepted. Is the picture of an Argonian, by any chance? It's well done.
@The Bork LazerThat's insanely cute. Its intensity of focus is the best part.

@SilverPawAn occ would be super cool. Can't wait to see her. And Yorsiccos looks really good (insensate! That's a new one for me). Accepted.

@Coltshan
Umerkydin[Can understand any dialect, but speaker must speak simply or slowly to communicate message. Complexity can produce giobberish, or worse, misconstrue a message. Created by Falaerian[Loving Mate/Companion] Illaren[Means one who is unyielding.] the 'Lewd'
The name is mentioned here. Was just wondering if it was someone Auctamos knew.

And just so everyone knows, I've come down with a cold and my stamina isn't at its best. I might be slower to respond. Excited to get the ball rolling soon though. Also, thanks for joining everyone! We have a lot of super interesting characters here that I can't wait to see in action. I have a lot planned too--just finished a plot that I think everyone will like, when it's implemented at a mysterious future time. :p
@BlueflameHeh, not quite. But awesome, I'll get on it.

@ColtshanGot it. Thank you. Okay, he's accepted. Out of curiosity, were they battling a neighboring -nation- of stodmen? Or was this a neighboring -estate- and thus a type of civil war? Also, is Falaerian currently traveling with him?

@DanddygoldAh, I was wondering when you would arrive. :p Torinazuril looks great. Accepted! But, does he have any gold with him?

@Mae@SilverPawRP is now labeled "full" "but please feel free to post your character sheets when they're ready.
@AXISAwesome. Looks good. Accepted!
@BlueflameI am imagining a blue Calcifer. xD

I love him. Accepted! Were you wanting me to paint a portrait for him? Also, is he actually located in the palace of a king? The king of Heil and Gillsommr?
(I'm dismissing his "skills" as natural abilities, btw; therefore, does he have any learned skills?)
-----------------------

@ColtshanThank you for wanting to join! AXIS is right, but that's okay, you didn't know. Overall, Auctamos looks pretty good, fleshed out (I like his first two quirks, especially); I just have a few questions, if that's alright? I'll order them for convenience's sake.

1) This is about the history: Did Auctamos attack his lord? Is that why the lord "ran him through" then sold his niece and nephew into slavery? And I'm assuming he was left for dead? Asking because Auctamos likely would have been tried as a criminal sooner than being killed if he simply renounced his loyalty (unless his lord was off his rocker). But if Auctamos attacked first and was left for dead, and his "death" left the children without guardian, the conclusion as written could be more likely.

2) History again: Is Auctamos still in Gillsommr?

3) One more about history: How did Auctamos become a mercenary and acquire his animals?

4) Is Auctamos primarily a swordfighter or magic-user?

5) Spells: I like Umerkydin; it fits miribilia magic perfectly (though by dialect do you mean language?). "Yovingaern," on the other hand, sounds like atermagia magic the way it siphons youth. Are you okay with me categorizing it as such? That would mean he cannot use it as efficiently. If you'd rather both spells be miribilia then you can modify it, of course. You can think of miribilia as "miracles;" things that we wish would happen but would be shocking if they did.

6) Finally, his equipment: is any of it enchanted?

Once we get these sorted out then he should be good to go.
-----------------------

@The Bork LazerHahaha, that character is great! It's like Ratatouille and Gordan Ramsey had a baby. Great history, too. Accepted!
@SilverPawYes, those are "races" that typically begin as either stodmen or ennen. I'm not against the concept of the diseases learning to species-hop, though. This is yet another tab I should probably add. The sympi disease, synthruus, spreads via fluids (saliva, blood, bad water). The mormagi virus, skalgwordh, typically hangs out on ripe corpses in places with little oxygen, and also spreads via contact. But, of course, have fun with it all. :)
