Lol that it would. I mean if Aqua was friends with Tiger before than she would have not really seen him as the boogeyman but in the same situation of fighting for what he believe especially if he told her why he said no. Aquamarine would have avoided fighting people she knew unless it was a forced situation and even then she had problems with it seeing as she was wounded badly enough to go in her gem because of Blood. She couldn't seperate feelings.
That being said. It would have been scary for her to see him on the battle field so different than he had been and then to see him this way which was so different from both versions would hit her wrong. It would feel probably more like she lost her friend not once but again since Mars is not Tiger. Parts would remind her of the other but Mars is just different

As far as he knows. Would you want the person that says your enemies to know you still care? It would be easy to use that against them. It's more of a Aqua has to harden herself when it comes to Blood because it could be bad not only for her but for those she protects.

Try catching it with a cup? Not sure what else to do but say wait for it to land and try to get a cup over it or you could go dork style and hold a clear cup near where it keeps bothering you and it might fly into the cup
