Backstory: Shizue spent her younger years in the Northern water tribe, learning from the best on how to heal and fight when she showed potential at waterbending. It seemed all was practically perfect, that is until her mother got really sick and no matter how much anyone tried it just wasn't getting better. Shizue even tried herself once when her mother was sleeping, hoping that maybe she could do it but it hadn't done anything. Her mother still faded away, smiling even in her last moments and telling her daughter to stay the strong smiling girl she loved. Asking her to watch out for her father since he would need his little girl more than ever. It left an empty feeling in her heart but she didn't let it get her down, fighting to stay happy and strong for her dad. Her father on the other hand felt like they needed to get away, away from the place where he could see his wife in every person and every turn. He thought about joining his sister in the Southern Water Tribe but decided against it, having a feeling even their he would be haunted with the memory so instead he went to Republic City to start a new life. He opened up a little shop and it seemed that they could get along now.
Shizue kept up her waterbending on her own when ever she could, only waiting till she was in her teen years to explore other regions of the world and working as a Hunteress (Selling whatever she caught) to live. It took her all over but she always came back to visit her father, telling him stories of her travels.

Shizue found this little guy in kind of a horrible way. She was hunting, trying to practice a better aim along with the fact she was tired of having fish everyday since she wasn't having much luck with anything else. It was the first time out on her own and there was no way she was going back so soon. She would be a failure in her eyes. It was then that she saw it,a large Addapard, it being occupied by what she assumed was a fresh kill or maybe even grazing so she took her shoot. Shizue rushed over in excitement but then felt her heart drop at what the beasts attention had been on. A small cub, its eyes not even open. Shizue felt like she might be sick, not even being able to look at the kill she had just made and not feeling right about eating the creature now. She carefully scooped up the cub, taking it with her and taking care of the poor boy by being its mother. Mitsuru is now her only companion.

A basic summary of what 21308 has so far:

It's been 7 years since the end of Avatar Korra's reign, and the current avatar has yet to reveal themselves. While Avatar Korra faced very few serious threats after the end of Kuvira's reign, many of the avatar's enemies never completely went away, and new struggles grew out of the turmoil of the past. While the Red Lotus was nowhere near the threat it once was, it is known to still exist, and the struggle to hunt down and eliminate every covert member of the organization was ongoing throughout the avatar's life, and still is. The world has become more industrialized than ever since Korra's lifetime, and workers' rights are rapidly becoming a pressing issue. Many poor non-benders have little hope of looking forward to anything but a life working an assembly line and, perhaps predictably, some of them have started anti-corporate movements and fallen in with Equalist philosophy.

Your character, for some reason or another, has received a mysterious letter asking you to show up in the basement of an abandoned temple in a rundown district of Republic City. The letter claims to be of the utmost importance and very urgent, and asks you to try to come alone and unseen. It promises that everything will be explained upon your arrival, and that there is a great reward involved. It is signed only with the seal of the Order of the White Lotus.

A quick note about this, this role-play will mostly be free-form. This form exists to give a general idea of any training your character may have and what they are able to do. It's meant to help give everyone's character a sense of uniqueness and make them useful in their own way. Your character's abilities can be anything from being particularly strong to being skilled with a specific type of weapon or bending ability. Don't be afraid to get creative. Everyone gets six ability points to start off with and you can put multiple points into one thing. So for instance, if you wanted to play a fire bender who had been training for a while but was nowhere near an expert, you might give said character three points in the ability, which would look this this:
