Nico is a polite and friendly girl towards everyone she meets, but lacks a sense of humor. She's quiet and reserved, trying her best not to offend anyone she talks to. She tries to keep her emotions in check and have her expression remain neutral as to not stand out too much.
This all changes when Nico transforms into her magical girl persona. Suddenly she's expressive, fun-loving and super curious about everything. If her normal personality is one of not wanting to stand out, her transformed behaviour tries to shine the spotlight on her. Nico will be a lot more reckless like this, but that sweet and gentle girl will always be there, too.
Skills
Nico knows how to take care of small animals and seems to be a natural empath for them, able to get along easily even with stray cats or dogs.
Brief Backstory
Nico was an ordinary girl, most of the time. Being an only child, her parents constantly pushed her to study and work hard, which meant that she had to put up an air of cool, toughness around her to live up to their expectations. Despite her being pushed to the limit, she never really excelled in any one thing in particular, remaining on the same level as her peers. Her life was pretty dull in that regard; her parents barely allow her to hang out with any friends and when any other person would normally have free time, she was fruitlessly studying. It's why Nico frequently sneaked out of the house. She wanted to do something fun, so she took a small side job at a petshop, caring for the animals there and working with the owner to make sure they got a good home.
She was enamored with the little critters, wanting to protect them no matter what. When her parents eventually found out about it, though, they were on the verge of reporting her to the police for it, since it was against the law for high-school students to have side jobs. The pet shop was her outlet for all the repressed emotions, her natural desire to make things be happy and have them live a happy life. Even though it was taken away from Nico, she remained determined to change something, to not always be cooped up in her room with textbooks all around her.
That's how she became a magical girl only a week or two before the Hex Night; because of that desire to let her repressed self roam free and help others. She was still inexperienced, but her new double-life brought excitement she never felt before. As a magical girl, she was finally allowed to express herself and it made her really happy.

Nico is slippery, just like a cat. She's extremely light on her feet, able to run on all fours with ease and able to scale most walls with finesse and speed. She has no ranged capabilities, but instead forms pink claws on either the tips of her fingers or shooting out from the back of her hand to swipe at her opponent(s). This makes her fighting style more hit-and-run. She can create a small barrier with her hands to ward off tiny projectiles, but it's not particularly resilient as Nico relies more on speed and dodging rather than blocking the enemy's attacks. - Cat-Tracker: A claw strike which, if connected, plants a mole which gives off a unique scent Nico can follow if her opponent tries to flee.
- Clowder: Nico makes nine identical copies of herself which can not speak, but can still emote. They vanish upon getting hit by any damaging strike, but are able to claw and dart around the field just like Nico can. Their primary use is for confusing and mobbing the enemy, but can also be used as a distraction as Nico has full control over what they do. Her control over them strengthens as their numbers lessen, because it's hard for her to focus on all of them at once. These last indefinitely until Nico either dispells them or they get hit and vanish. Using this move in excess drains Nico, so she usually can't do it more than once in most engagements.
- Felid: Nico launches herself forward and spins around rapidly, extending her arms to deliver a flurry of claw-strikes to the opponent.
