Djinn, or by her real name "Shadow", is the story's deuteragonist, until the 'Rise of the Shadows' arc in Part Two, where she played as the main antagonist. Conjured to life by the Millennium Pendant, Shadow is a manifested-embodiment of Divine Djinn's literal and psychological shadow (thereby her name), who was regarded as her "twin sister", both in friendship and "visual kinship". Creative, clever, and determined in her pursuits, Shadow Djinn was regarded as a great ally, as well as a dangerously-powerful adversary.

Five-thousand years ago, before her death at the hands of Yami Marik, Shadow Djinn was a mystical servant of Pharaoh Atem, and one of the guardians to the seven Millennium treasures, originally kept by him and his six priests. She was also the one responsible for the conjured curse in the king's tomb. Her devotion and loyalty to the royal Egyptian family stemmed from their inheritance of the device responsible for her creation, as well as the main source of her power: The Millennium Pendent. This significant affiliation continued on, into the present day, after her spirit was reawakened in the Monster card "Dark Djinn" by Yugi Muto, the current possessor of the ancient artifact, who became the main host for the souls of both herself and Pharaoh Atem. Using their intertwined bond, the three worked together on protecting the world from evil.

Shadow Djinn was known for being one of Yugi Muto's closest friends, as well as one of his best monsters. While he and Atem were crowned as "King of Games", she eventually and officially earned the female-flipped "Queen of Games" title, after frequently dueling by their side, and ultimately winning the Grand Championship. By the end of Part One, invoked by their close partnership, Yugi developed romantic feelings for Shadow, leading her to make the decision of not crossing into the afterlife. After Atem’s departure, her fate was made, when Yugi fused her spirit with his own, binding them together for all eternity, as they vow to continue protecting the world.

DESIGN
Appearance

Brought to life as a shadow creature, born with the dark magic of the Millennium Puzzle, Shadow Djinn was created from Divine Djinn's actual and psychological shadow, having to merely be a mirrored counterpart, possessing similar traits that make her a visual opposite, but with a shady, smokey color scheme, giving her the impression as a "shadow-version" of Divine.

Since her creation, due to her kind's ability to shapeshift, Shadow primarily appears by taking on the appearance of a slim, petite teenaged-girl with dark-pink eyes, and Caucasian-pale skin; possessing frisky, three-layered, dark-blue hair going down to her mid-back, with the ends sticking up, as well as very short, light-blue bangs on her forehead, with two locks (long on the left; short on the right) framing the sides of her face.

In the past, she wore the attire to that of a priestess: a long, white, sleeveless, one-piece dress with a high-low skirt, a matching waist-length hood that widens and spreads below her shoulders, and white sandals. Her jewelry consists of a golden beaded-crown circling her head, three golden anklets on each leg, a golden Egyptian necklace, and a golden bracelet with a ruffled fabric around each wrist.

Since her resurrection, thanks to her shapeshifting abilities, Shadow keeps using this appearance as her disguised form, apart from her Duel Monster form, having to wear a long, white, flap-collared "boyfriend" cardigan over a long-sleeved, light-pink, turtle-necked dress, with dark-purple cuffs, and two tails hanging down at her sides. The left tail also has a small, conch-like ornament hanging down from it, while wearing a white thigh-skirt underneath with black stockings, and white Mary-Jane shoes. After she got enrolled into Duel Academy, her clothing was replaced with the typical female uniform of an Obelisk Blue student: A collared, sleeveless white top with blue-and-violet trimmings, a matching blue-and-violet miniskirt, and royal blue boots.

Thanks to Yusei Fudo, her disguise has an addition of a pink, specially-designed bracelet on her left wrist, which allows her to manipulate her presence waves, or "visibility", around humans.

She also has her own Duel Disk with a silver body, a blue light, and a pink-green-purple-blue gem in the center.

In Duel Monster form as "DARK DJINN", Shadow coincidentally takes on an appearance resembling that of the supernatural creatures related to the Djinn, and visually, being a contrasting shady-version of Divine's "LIGHT DJINN".

Tall and intimidating, even though they both have long-pointed elf ears, and hair tied up in a high-ponytail, Shadow possesses dark-lavender skin, red eyes, dark metallic-purple hair, and matching dark metallic-purple eyeshadow and lips. She also has dark-grey "smoke" etches sprouting from her ankles to her lower legs, and dark-purple Islamic tattoos: phases of an eclipse running down from her right forehead, over her right eye, to her right cheek, along with scorpion-inspired ones on her upper chest, her right hand, and down her left arm.

Having a style resembling Arabian origin, Shadow's attire as "DARK DJINN" is exactly the same as Divine's reincarnated form as LIGHT DJINN, but again, in dark, smoky colors; a one-piece outfit: short-sleeved half magenta, half dark-blue bust-top, and a pair of black, high-waisted, knee-lengthed baggy pants, with elaborate violet curlicues shaped along each side. She also wears matching violet, wedged-babouches with curled toes, as well as dangling translucent-pink "lightning bolt" earrings.

After taking possession of Pharaoh Atem's shadow, while being under the Light of Destruction's influence, she formed a custom Duel Disk on her arm; much more menacing than her other one, it represents her true malevolent power.

Abilities
Shadow is nearly equivalent to Yubel, both in fate and power; as a fiend-type being, she holds a variety of abilities that are similar to the effects of her monster card, along with that of her naturally-born species. As a shadow manifestation of a genie, she possesses the superhuman strength, speed, senses, agility, and longevity of the Djinn, a supernatural race of beings, who occupy a world parallel to that of mankind, whilst having additional attributes related to that of a shadow creature. Shadow temporarily had powers that were considered godlike, while she had the ability to grant wishes, like teleportation, telekinesis, object animation, and reality-warping, but such abilities have greatly diminished, or were permanently lost, after a wish for her freedom.

As a Duel Monster, living in the parallel dimension, or the "spirit plane", either in transparent-form, or her solid form (whenever Yugi Muto shifts into Yami Yugi), she's visible to other spirits, but rendered invisible to certain humans. However, with the specially-designed bracelet Yusei Fudo made for her, Shadow can choose to willingly live in the plane of existence whenever taking on her disguised form. Her ability to shapeshift includes transforming into that of a dark apparition, as well as a shadow silhouette that can lurk on solid surfaces, such as walls, floors, and mirrors. She can also control a person's thoughts and actions with her voice.

Unlike Yubel, who personally derived her power from the dark natures of others, Shadow is an entity, supplied via her connection to the Shadow Realm, as well as the elemental forces of shadow and darkness, including the ones within the Millennium Puzzle. Having to gain access to a dimension full of dark energy, she can channel it to perform a variety of techniques, related to the said-element: Blending in darkness, teleport one's self through massive distances via shadows, etc. This connection also allows her to psionically perceive an individual through their casted-shadows, to the point of being able to detect their inner-darkness (“shadow”) dwelling within them. Sometimes extracted and expelled from its host, either with or without the use of her persuasion powers, this aspect takes shape as a more-sinister counterpart, or lookalike, often appearing with red or gold eyes, and expressing their host's more negative qualities. Shadow has some extent of control over these beings, having to use them as minions to do her bidding, and/or to further her own agenda, which was shown when she was able to possess the Shadow of Pharaoh Atem.

Due to being born by the Millennium Pendant, Shadow Djinn naturally inherits core knowledge and harnessing of its ancient power, allowing her to wield its dark magic, as well as both physically and spiritually, resist and survive a variety of powerful forces, like the Seal of Orichalcos and, to an extent, the Millennium Items (Rod, Eye and, temporarily, the Ring). Also, because of her supernatural affiliation with the Puzzle, she can spirit-walk into the minds of its wearers, mainly Yugi Muto, and act as an alter-ego, whilst also being able to, both voluntarily and non-voluntarily, take possession of them; as displayed numerous times, Yugi would take on the same red color as Shadow's own, whenever she takes full-control of his mind and body. Unfortunately, after he sacrificed the Puzzle, she lost this ability, until she was permanently fused with him.

Through her many experiences in the Duel Monsters game, Shadow proves herself to be just as talented as Pharaoh Atem in the dueling world. Considering that they play the same deck, it's no surprise that they would both share a similar dueling style, as well. She even quickly adapted on how to operate the Duel Disks, as well as Yusei Fudo's Duel Runner (don't tell). As far as strategy and skill go, it would make sense as to why people even call her "Queen of Games". To add to her five-thousand years of knowledge, she has also gained the skill of being trilingual, having to fluently understand and translate the English, Egyptian, and Arabian languages; she's currently in the process of learning Japanese, making her almost quadrilingual.

Much like Jaden Yuki's fusion with Yubel, Yugi Muto's fusion with Shadow has allowed him to harbor some of her abilities, although he won't be able to harness them to their full extent, whilst having resistance and immunity to dark, supernatural influences. He has also gained a biological enhancement for increased speed, agility, reflexes, durability, and endurance, as well as the ability to sense the darkness within others.

Personality
To others, Shadow Djinn was considered to be "one-of-a-kind", both in and out of the dueling aspect. Having to care very deeply for her friends and allies, she'll do everything in her will and power to aid and protect them. Throughout the story, Shadow has tried to find her own individual, before eventually adapting into that of a rather intelligent and good-willed being, who perceived in reaching destinies without taking shortcuts, while taking a natural dislike for wannabe, ill-fated, and power-seeking individuals. Ironically, she shows pity for these individuals, despite this opposition and, if necessary, she will try to support, reason, as well as respect them (with a few exceptions).

Shadow normally appears as an elegant, polite yet compassionate individual, who's gentle, wise, and loyal; traits she took on from Divine Djinn, as well as the values of responsibility, but unlike her sister's mature, conscientious demeanor, Shadow, being an embodiment of Divine's inner instincts and desires, was "young" and "insecure", making her the more-active twin, who was very sensitive and, more-commonly, the jealous-type, which can definitely get in the way of her good side. In addition, after easily feeling overshadowed by Divine's ability to make things happen for mankind, Shadow had craved to be her equal, where her "immaturity" became the core reason for her involvement in the forbidden practice of granting wishes (a technique that only normal genies can perform), which made her become completely bounded to the wills of others, and put under the five laws of wish-granting.

Due to herself representing Divine's dark side, Shadow has, on certain occasions, a habit of embracing her malevolent shadow-being nature, leading her to perform mischievous and diabolical acts, typically by tampering with the thoughts of mankind, to which she finds very difficult to resist. She was initially very ashamed of this, and even feared what others may think of her, but found herself being accepted amongst them and, from there, she intends to use her shadow powers only to enact justice for the weak and the innocent. Eventually, she had managed to control her instincts, and use her powers more for honorable and righteous acts. However, Shadow rarely keeps any of her more-brutal powers at bay, whenever in a bad mood.

After years of servitude, Shadow had grown comfortable with her duties as a wish-granting genie, but wasn't always proud of it; having to lose all hope for self-independence, she developed a very passive and obedient disposition around her masters, typically allowing them to take full advantage of her and, in most cases, use her power for personal gain. In addition to this, as a servant-of-sorts, she viewed herself being below them; as it is in her nature to remain loyal and follow orders, she finds it very difficult to even confront or question them. She's very professional in playing this role, to the point where she found it a little strange in developing any kind of relationship, as much as call her masters by their first name.

However, after spending time with Yugi Muto and his friends, Shadow learned that she shouldn’t feel forced, and blindly follow orders; she could follow in what she believed in, as well as her heart, leading her to eventually understand, rise to power, and bud some independence. Even after Yugi wished for her freedom, she was still thrilled, after this realization. The influences from both him and Pharaoh Atem have also allowed her to gain confidence, fairness, and a sense of good judgement upon her being.

Her bonds with Yugi and the Pharaoh are, undoubtedly, her most important relationships. In life and death, Shadow Djinn remains loyal, faithful, and highly-regarding for her king, evident in having to fight by his side on multiple occasions, to the point where she affectionately refers to him as her protector, best-friend, restraint, and "brother"; he acts as a mentor-of-sorts to her, as she acts as a great influence to him, in return. It's a similar scenario with Yugi, to whom she is extremely protective of, and dedicated into supporting, but unlike her close platonic bond with Atem, the relationship gradually develops from the blocks of friendship into love -- even after she believed him in being "the light of darkness"; it was only because of his kindness and purity that she ever reciprocated his feelings.

Due to having been "dormant", since the nineties, Shadow had missed out on a lot of technological progress, resulting her to become clueless about certain modern-evolving technology. But this doesn't mean she's not intelligent, nor a fast-learner; in fact, most of her modern-day intellect evolved from her experiences in the Duel Monsters game. After having to be fully entrusted with Yugi's deck, she uses pride and effort as both a monster and a duelist; making her presence and power so unpredictable and intimidating, Shadow silently enjoys it when people underestimate her.

Etymology
The name, Djinn, was used as a play-on-words for the Arabic collective noun Jinn, whose primary meaning is "to hide" or "to conceal", though some interpret the word to literally mean "beings that are concealed from the senses" - thus implying the fact that Divine and Shadow were not necessarily "spirits", but rather physical beings hidden within a parallel plane of time and space. The origin of the word Jinn remains unknown.

The anglicized form genie is a borrowing from the Latin word genius, a guardian spirit of people and places in Roman religion. While Divine and Shadow are related to the supernatural creatures found only in Arabian and Islamic folklore, there is no evidence that can explain their connection with Ancient Egypt. However, there have been a lot of superstitions of them being summoned through magical rites, performed by the Egyptians themselves.

BIOGRAPHY
History
Living for generations as (usually) invisible, supernaturally-empowered beings known as jinn, or "genies", Shadow's birth happened in Third Millennium B.C., during a solar eclipse, where King Aknamkanon used the powers of the Millennium Pendant to create company for Divine in a dimension that's parallel to the real one. Coming down as her "twin sister" in both friendship and appearance, Shadow and Divine were originally servants, or companion spirits, to many Egyptian families, including those of royalty, magically granting them their greatest desires through "wishing", although this act was proven impossible on Shadow's part as a shadow creature.

After the birth of Aknamkanon's only son, Atem, the sisters accompanied him of raising the child and were requested to teach him the ways of life before the coronation, mainly due to the fear and concern of his yet-surfacing, shadow-half (the negative aspect of his personality, according to Shadow). In order to protect his only heir from the negative desires, influences, and impulses of the outside world, Aknamkanon requested Divine and Shadow to accompany him and his son in an ancient tomb, where he sacrificed his own soul to the gods to spare Atem from the consequences of creating the Millennium Items, eventually passing away after he mysteriously fell ill.

Shadow was present during Atem's taking of the throne, and not being not exactly bound to the duties of a normal jinni, like Divine, she was requested to help maintain and secure the seven Millennium artifacts in the palace. When a great evil arose, Atem sealed himself inside the Pendant to lock away the Shadow Games forever, shattering itself to pieces shortly afterward. Placing these pieces inside a golden box, Shadow and Divine placed it in a special tomb within the Valley of the Kings, calling it the Tomb of the Nameless Pharaoh. Through circumstance, Shadow sealed the box within the tomb's inner chambers, before mercilessly cursing its stone walls with shadow-magic to prevent thievery, before going back with Divine to serve the throne's successors.

A few centuries later, since Atem's sacrifice, Shadow and Divine played the role as guardian entities within the Shrine of the Underworld, underneath the desolated village of Kul Elna, where the seven artifacts have originated. Sharing the tomb with another Pharaoh loyalist named Shadi, who helped secure the Millennium Ring, Eye, Scales, and Key, the sisters have watched him forcefully give an explorer named Maximillion Pegasus the Eye, before allowing him to house and mentor a group of young orphans within the tomb. Having to watch him teach them about the Millennium Items, Shadow became overshadowed by the amount of praise Divine received from the children. Fueled by her jealousy, she began to crave for the gaining attention her sister was getting; so believing that she could share the spotlight with Divine, she secretly got involved with the technique of wish-granting, eventually becoming bound with its five laws:
(1) She cannot be requested to kill.
(2) She cannot make a person fall in love.
(3) She cannot resurrect the deceased.
(4) She cannot grant immortality.
(5) She cannot refuse requests that don't imply to any of the previous rules.

Over time, Shadow never told Divine of her involvement, until the day of the eldest's demise: Bakura's father appeared, and Shadi tested him to see if he is worthy to obtain the Millennium Ring. He fails, only prompting a young Bakura Ryou to emerge, and acquire the Ring, accidentally inheriting the imprisoned Yami Bakura in the process. The evil spirit killed Divine, and the children she tried to protect. Due to her immunity to the dark energy, Shadow survives the attack, along with three other children named Sera, Mani, and Aigami. In mourning, Shadow retreated to another tomb, where she shared the space with the Ishtar family, a clan of tomb-keepers. The family's youngest child, Marik Ishtar, approached her, and hoping to make it up to her sister, she made Marik her first "master", secretly serving his every need, while continuing her position into guarding the Millennium Necklace and Rod.

The boy's need for Shadow went a little too far as he succumbed to his hatred of family tradition: having to be forced into taking the initiation ritual, Marik's pain caused him to spawn a second personality named Yami Marik, who killed his father, and nearly killed his older siblings Odion and Ishizu. Odion, his only (adoptive) brother, in fact, lied that it was Shadi who did it instead, in order to protect him from self-guilt of his other half's crime. However, the boy misunderstood him and believed that the Pharaoh was responsible for his father's death, making Shadow interfere upon his path of delusion. He demanded Shadow to revive him, but due to herself revealing that she was now "bound" to the rules of the jinn, Marik became furious, unknowingly awakening his other half, and tried to eliminate her.

Realizing the newly-found "disease" within the boy, Shadow used up her strength to fend him off and sacrificed her own life. A few years later, due to their impressive history, Maximillion Pegasus of Industrial Illusions designed Divine and Shadow into battle monster cards for his newly-created card game, Duel Monsters. However, after a few months of development, Pegasus realized how powerful they really were, and banned both cards from being released to the public. But, rumors happened to spread, and Shadow Djinn's only monster card, "Dark Djinn", was mysteriously leaked into the possession of a young boy named Yugi Muto, while Divine Djinn's card, "Light Djinn", remained in lock-up. Shadow's spirit was awakened by Yugi's possession of the Millennium Puzzle, and became his catalyst of influence to reach his destiny as the "King of Games".
"Of course", the winged she-elf answered him with a nod, confirming his questions and predictions. It felt good to offer him this, that was true, but the fear of trust was still there. Saeril could only give him happiness as of now, and shadowing herself from him was the only way to protect his well-being. She was off to a good start with him, before she heard the shout of one of the dwarves in the dining room.

"Shall we go join them?", she asked him, withdrawing her wing back, in order for the appendages to miraculously transform back into a cloak.

Yugi Muto is a shy, game-loving sixteen year-old, who’s often bullied. One day, after receiving the ancient Egyptian Millennium Puzzle from his grandfather, he’s challenged to solve its impossible golden fragments, until he accidentally inherits a more confident alter-ego, after releasing "Pharaoh", a merciless but amnesiac spirit of an ancient five-thousand year-old king, who sealed himself inside. From that moment onward, whenever Yugi or any of his friends are threatened, this "Other Yugi" appears, enacting ironic justice by “punishing" their offenders.

Coincidentally, a few months later, he finds himself linked with the djinn-spirit of "Shadow", a powerful genie, who’s pledged to safeguard him from any opposing parties, after mysteriously receiving a rare Duel Monsters game-card called "DARK DJINN". After defeating his rival Seto Kaiba in the game, Yugi is then invited by the game's creator Maximillion Pegasus to participate in his tournament, only to find himself and his friends Joey Wheeler, Tristan Taylor, Bakura Ryou, and Téa Gardner in trials not only wagering the fate of the world, but also their very lives, as certain individuals, both human and entity, begin to seek in taking possession of his Puzzle.

During their quest of evading and uncovering the secret origins behind these malicious forces, Yugi forms an alliance with other talented individuals, who share his gift of communicating with the spirits: Jaden Yuki, an energetic fifteen-year-old prodigy known for his youthful optimism, as well as the calm, cool-headed Yusei Fudo, an eighteen-year-old, motorcycling time-jumper from the distant future.
Saeril looked at him, as soon as he joked about how much of a handful he and Fili were. It was true; she did see Dis and a few others struggle to maintain the boys' excitement, and her decision to stay away became something of great value to her ever since. For the most part, Kili was the wild-child of the family; that she could assume quite quickly. Completely valid. The eldest, on the other hand, was much more reserved, and (somewhat) well-mannered.

She chuckled at his light-heartedness. He was quick to say something that would cheer someone up, and it was working on even the most proudest D of individuals, like herself and his uncle, Thorin. That was what Saeril liked about him: his happiness, and his pure innocence. But there were some things in the world he has yet to learn. His determination, honestly, surprised her though. However, he didn't know everything about her, and that was what she truly feared. He could hate her for what she did. Sooner or later, he will.

Saeril supposed that he only said that for her physical appearance, not for what she did -- and she preferred to keep it that way for a while. He just met, and possibly accepted, his godmother; there was no need for her to induce such fear now. "They are", she simply answered before stretching one huge, brown, feathery wing out, so it was behind him. "I can. Above the clouds and into the headwinds, they never faltered. Not even once", the she-elf smiled as she fondly talked about their capabilities. "Since I trust them, maybe one day, you can fly with me. See what I see", she offered with a gentle smile.
Saeril couldn't help but give a chuckle of amusement to his childish excitement. The same old Kili she remembered was already expressing himself. It was adorable yet amusing at the same time. His devotion to her was proven when he began to ramble, and the she-elf just couldn't stop the grateful smile from appearing upon her Elven features.

When he asked why she didn't show herself before, Saeril's gaze turned towards the ground in guilt and shame. "When your mother told me I was to become your godmother", she began. "I ran. I figured thought I wasn't capable enough to actually watch a child", her shame was evident, and she was even afraid to look at her own godson when confirming the truth.

"And, my appearance. To other races, I represented evil, and malevolence. Tales spread, Kili; everyone was afraid of me, treated like a being of shadow. Since they mentioned it, I stayed in the said-shadows ever since, watching you and your brother grow", the she-elf finally let her gaze move back to him. "I was shameful. That is why I sent you the letters, and the gifts", she gave a sad sigh before allowing her black cloak to miraculous shift into the wings that stayed as a burden. Saeril kept them folded behind her, only for him to see.
It was all coming back to her now, and Saeril made a quiet chuckle of amusement when she thought of Dis, Thrain's only daughter. She knew Dis as long as she lived; they were close, and the Dwarven woman trusted and respected her, the same way many Dwarves of Erebor saw the Fangorian Elves: regal, proud, and wise (not to mention beautiful). Saeril didn't have many companions during her long years within Fangorn Forest, until Dis became her first.

So long they have been friends, that was when the she-elf realized that Dis trusted her completely, even to the point when the Dwarven woman announced that she was pregnant. Snapping herself back to the present, Saeril's gaze on Kili softened. "I knew her, yes. A long time ago", she confirmed to his question about his mother. "I remembered the faces of those said-infants with her. I remember how much they liked to play in the woods", her voice sounded distant as she recalled to those memories.

"She also told me...that you were to be my godson, Kili, and your brother", the she-elf added. "Those letters, and Delva?", she paused for a moment, before carefully sitting herself down on the floor, mainly to try to get down to his level. "That was me", she finally said it.
Saeril kept her gaze at the fire. "You know, young Kili? I have the same feeling with you", she added as a matter-of-fact. With that, she turned her gaze to him, after a moment of looking down. She had to say it; she had to get close to him again, like how the wizard said, if she were to pay for her past unintentional crimes, and it also seems that Gandalf didn't tell them after all.

With a sigh, she elegantly sat herself upon the comfy lounge nearby, although she kept herself near the warmth of the fire. "I remember a long time ago", she pondered in thought. "There was a woman that I met. Her name was...Dis", she guessed, eventually finding the name of the Dwarven woman, after a second of thinking. "I remember...", the she-elf then began to say. "Two young Dwarven boys with her. Infants", she added, looking at him with a bit of fondness in her eyes.
Alright-y! I'll be waiting :)
Well, he hasn't physically seen her before, but he was determined to. However, he and Fili know her as their personal guardian "Delva", since he and Fili called her that during their years of communicating with her through letters and gifts of nature. That is where their "love" for her, grew. From there, they admired her ever since.

In the post, she's wondering if he saw, or heard of her as "Maleficent". Or if he knows that she is "Delva". Either is fine.

Saeril sat near the fire, and stared at its hearth. The memories were enough to flash back at her; memories of two young dwarves she grew fond of from within the shadows, while covering the disturbance of an appearance that every race grew to despise. It was fear, not anxiety that drove her away. How could anyone love someone that had the appearance of true evil? Not them, she concluded to herself.

No, that couldn't be it, could it? What if they weren't afraid? What if they already accepted her presence? What if...they already knew what she looked like? Have they heard the stories? What if they saw her commit such evil? Were they already despising her? Did they even care? These repeated questions and constant thoughts inside her head haunted her. For days and nights, almost to the point where she can't sleep, it was a parental paranoia within her that truly scared her.

It was a repetitive wheel within the fire before her...and the last thing she didn't expect to hear, was the voice of said-child. Slowly widening her yellow-green eyes, Saeril cautiously turned her head to the source, which almost made her jump out of her Elven skin. Was it true? Did Gandalf stay true to his word? Getting courage, she kept her ground. "I did come with Gandalf, yes", she answered him, gently, and almost motherly. "I'm Saeril", the she-elf introduced herself, keeping her gaze on him, but not as uptight as before.

It was quiet, and Saeril kept it that way for a hesitating moment when she looked back at the fire before her. She didn't want the tension to turn awkward between them, and she didn't want to frighten him. "Do you know who I am, Kili?", she asked the young dwarf, almost cautiously, making sure that what she was seeing was real.
