Fallout Tactics has death claws that can talk, scary killer robots, and the ability to have a tank. It just doesn't... Sit well with the rest of lore.

Jacob

They had begun to push cutting down the few that moved to attack them, a couple of axe wielding brigands and a mercenary. However a fresh wave of reinforcements arrive, eight more men moving to collide with his forces. Yet though it all he spotted another group, three women who seemed to struggling who seemed to be battling these fanatics themselves. The risk would be great crossing the field towards, he could sen Marius.... No he was needed here, grumbling he made his decision, he would go. He refuse to risk lives needlessly and he could speak with them and hopefully bring them back to the main group. "Nephene move up your taking my place up here. Marius keep the formation together and push up. I'm heading over to assist that group, they might need help. No heroics from any of you, sweep the field and stay together, I'll be back when I can."

With that he rushed forward, the lack of armor meant he could move at a decent pace. He let lose a couple of fire balls he slid just past an enemy mage, the mage roasted while Jacobs cloak did catch fire slightly it was quickly put out. He stopped near the swords-women drawing his blade. "Hey, figured you could use some help, I'm Jacob by way, Champion of Naga."

As he spoke enemy cavaliers circled them, hearing his statement. "Boys, look it's the little false Champion, The grand cleric will grant Sainthood to whoever slays him!" The four horse back riders sneered and advanced, they wanted there prize, then they would collect the women.

Back toward the main front Bandits and thieves moved in as Jacob passed though scavenging and hunting for easy kills and loot. They turned and looked the approaching Shepherds, there wagon was loaded with food and weapons, both he fanatics and scavengers rounded to faced them.

Caroline

She had gulped and pushed past the woman who had stopped her. "I am a healer and my brother is up there, I will be going with them. No matter what you say it's my duty to heal there wounds and keep them alive." As she stepped towards the fighting Marianne reassured her they would be safe and with a nod she stepped forward, keeping her staff and eye to the front, ready to heal her fellow Shepherds when they needed it.
Carolina nodded getting up. "I have to get some sleep as well. I need to hit the marksman course tomorrow, my aim wasn't to good in the sim." With that he got up giving them a wave of his hand and strolled off to his room. He arrived and set about removing and storing his armor, then changing into his fatigues. After that he decided to read for a little while picking up his old paper back copy of the art or war he gently turned the pages reading though the quotes and stories. He had always loved the book and found it an inspiration and companion throughout his life.

He spent hours reading before looking up, ten minutes to midnight. So he sighed and got up heading back towards the kitchen, carefully avoiding cameras and making it look he was heading to another teammates room rather than the kitchen, he slipped away and into the back room. Taking a seat near one of the stoves he waited for South to arrive, going over what he planned to tell her in his head.
Are we just going to let this die?
Actually I had plans on that already, I had planned for the attack on Regna Ferox to be in swing, the Church is just showing off it's power right now. I wanted to kinda have fight to prove the fact there just going to throw bodies at the wall.
Andres The old man had awoken moments ago stretching his old bones, when he caught whiff of the smell of fire and as they crested the hill, his fear became reality. Before them were dozens of Church troops descending upon the Feroxi walls, the Longfort was strong but the Church had religious zealotry on their side. He hoped down. "Drivers, back down the hill. I will go to aid the Feroxi forces, I am well respected among there soldiers. Jacob, this is your first command screw it up and I'll roast you alive. I want to see all these young folks alive when I return." With that the old man walked forward into the sea of enemy's before him. Yet not one could touch him, his spells finding there mark without him having to bat an eye his sword blocking deflecting and killing those that dared to oppose the grand master. These were not the true soldiers of the church, merely fanatics with the Church taking the role of leadership. He was soon helping to guide and hold the Feroxi's position inside the Longfort. While they stopped those that would pass, the Shepherds would the hand that ended this battle. Jacob Yawned waking up slowly, yawning as he opened his eyes greet by the sight of sister and Marianne. He was about to ask the question when he Andres shoot orders, he didn't even take a moment rolling out of there laps and jumping out the back of his cart he drew his blade. "Marius, Jerod to the front with me. Marianne, Caroline you stay behind us, Marianne your in charge of covering us. Caroline keep us moving we take a hit mend it fast, no time for precise work just quick and clean. Jerod your taking those on the left, I'm on the right. Marius your going up the middle, try not to outpace your faster than we are." With that he drew his blade, watching his Master wade forth in to the fight he gulped, he didn't want to see anyone hurt, let alone dead. Steeling himself he spun his blade looked back, the drivers of the carts looked nervous as they watched these little ragtag band of soldiers prepare to face at least two dozen fanatics. "Everyone else is on rear guard, lets not get surrounded." He said drawing his blade, in truth he wanted to throw up and cry at this disturbing scene, yet he couldn't they looked to him for guidance and he had to be strong... Even if he was just a boy. Caroline "Wait your engag-!?" She said as the commotion started, yet when she looked down to wake him, he had gone. "Come let's not keep them waiting." She jumped out and gasped, she had seen bandit raids but this was... men lay implanted on spikes. Soldiers clamored to break through the Feroxi line, heads rolls and blood filled the frozen earth. She stood half in awe and half terrified of the carnage, her little brother he just rolled forward and begun to issue order. Him who was scared lightning as a child now ordered her comrades forward. She could watch in shock, her little brother was far braver than she, now she needed to count on him. Taking shaky steps forward she followed, unarmed and shivering she started her ways towards the battle field.
Depressing Dark Link is depressing. However on the other front Link is finally starting to learn of his new found power, errr sort of at least a little.
Link Link nodded to Ciela. "I'm sorry... I just... My mind was... Somewhere else, I know this forest is dangerous yet it's like I knew the path in and out of it... As if I had walked it before, with a fairy just like you." He groaned put a hand to his head shaking it. "We should let Midna and Zant catch up, I promise to not run ahead..." He shrugged gently smiling at the fairy. "Still why did I say that name? I don't even know a Saria." He said calmly. "Just so we don't separated maybe you should take my hand or ride on my shoulder or something?" He asked Ciela as he looked to find Midna and Zant, hoping they had been able to keep up with them both. Dark Link He smiled at her comment's on the little green hero then burst in to laughter at the Princess's assumption. "You don't get him do you? Most Zelda's say the same thing, that they'll end up marrying him. Truth is not all do, one Link turned it down stay in Hyrule to go look for a friend, another married a young girl from his village and went back to being a farmer. Never dictate what that boy will do, he's a wild card, he will save you all but when it's done he might just turn his back on Hyrule, he's like me. He's see's the worst and best this world has to offer and often abandons it. Only Zelda I know to ever 'Love' him was the first I met, that one killed my predecessor. He and that Zelda founded what would become Hyrule." However at the question he stopped, he pondered a moment then spoke. "I plan to do many things, I want to swim in water. Explore the sacred groves and lands without them screaming in fear. I want to walk in the desert and feel the sand between my toes. Then after that I want to retire and write down all that I have seen. I want to write a history of the Hero and I, tell the world of my noble enemy and his tireless fight. How Goddess and Evil forced our hands. I want to tell them all of Link who became many, the Hero who fought not for one but two worlds. The story of Princess and her destiny bound to Hero by the hatred of long dead demon lord. I will put Ganondorf's evils past and present to paper. Then I will copy it, I will spread to everyone and then I will find a way to spread it throughout worlds. When that is done, I will rest and wait for my judgement. Whether my masters torment me eternally or the Goddesses forgive my crimes I accept my choices in life." He spoke softly, if he could cry or look sympathetic he would, he just sat there, his eyes had left her and rested on the wall. "You know... My masters gave me a free mind, to drive me to make want that freedom, I have sat and talked with nearly every Zelda I have seen captured. I feel your pain, your burden of wanting to protect people. I do not hate you, I don't even really hate the Hero but... I pretend, I must. I must say I hate him, he is to kind he could not kill a being that was being used, it was his weakness. He always had to find a perfect solution to every puzzle, I will kill him not by his weakness but my strength defeating his. I am not his friend and my goal is his destruction I will not let him think otherwise." He spoke with finality and age, a wisdom that Zelda could feel in his voice and his in true age. "I should report to Ganondorf soon, my power is nearly back."
So I'm not sure if as of right now I should have Link flashing between the Hero of Time and himself as the forest start to pull out his Hero Of Time Persona.
You left your spy in the room.
Link Link slowly climbed off his horse, the journey had taken a few hours but he could see the lush forest ahead, the children in his village had always played along the edge, fear to enter and never return. "Well let's see what lays just beyond this grove. Ciela stay close, I would hate to get lost in here." He joked and shot her a carefree smile as walked towards the opening of the wood. He advanced slowly, taking lefts and rights suddenly at brisk pace, a song seemed to guide him further in, he could swear knew the song his mind ached with memories as he came closer and closer to a long lost friend, one who help guide him forward. A name sang out in his head and called out a name. "Saria!" He yelled, letting it echo in to these forgotten woods. Dark Link He shrugged and looked at the princess. "Fine we can play your game." He snickered at her question then laughed loudly. "You really couldn't figure it out? Your the wise one!? I am his shadow, yet I am capable of learning things he cannot, wield magic more akin to you and Ganondorf. Yet I am locked to him, to be free he must die. Then I can be like you, to live and die never to awaken only to be locked to the will of chosen Champion of Power. Make no mistake, I do not like Ganondorf yet I am bound to serve. Yet if your little hero is killed, then I am free. Free to feel, to eat, to sleep. Thing you mortals take for granted." He smirked then looked her over. "My question, I'll ask you the same one I've asked each other Zelda I met, lets see if you know the right answer." He turned leaning staring her in the eyes. "Were you awe struck when met the little hero, bet your hoping when this is over he'll stay with you. I'm asking if you have feelings for him princess. So do you?" He smirked evilly, red eyes dully blinking as waited for the answer, he did so enjoy this.
