Current A quiet day is a good day, especially when it doesn't have to be productive.

Fallout Tactics has death claws that can talk, scary killer robots, and the ability to have a tank. It just doesn't... Sit well with the rest of lore.

Praetor nodded, to her carefully, looking as strong and determined as he could, then he collapsed in to a chair. Sighing he looked around, he really wanted to go upstairs and see Auria. He had missed quiet a lot over the years, Mira was the closet he had found to someone like her. He sighed wishing he had his violin, it always helped him think when he was nervous. Sighing he looked out the window, thinking about tracking Lucian in broad daylight, no it would be suicide if he didn't have someone with him... He could always ask Klaus then again Klaus would never help with something that was family business.
"Lucian fled, I was attacked by the feral rogue's the fight attracted." he sighed and got up, he could see the distress and worry Mira had in her eyes, deciding he should be a bit less cold-hearted than usual he walked over to her and gave her gentle tight hug. "It's a real surprise to see her here, and another girl you say? Well I'll speak with her later." He released Mira and lead her towards her room. "Now please Mira rest, your not as well attuned to being awake during the day as I am." In truth he felt weak and tired, he could have kept right on sleeping but he needed to be awake, this would not be going away anytime soon.
With that came a groan as Praetor stumbled down the stairs, he hadn't button the white collared shirt he'd thrown on and his black dress pants were wrinkled to hell as he walked to the counter. "Klaus if I hear one damn word I will hit you." He grumbled retrieving a blood pack, then two more biting in to them and sucking them dry quickly. "Mira go to bed, I'll stay up and keep an eye on the place. He spoke softly as licked up blood that trickled from his lip. His wounds had but hundreds of scars were along his chest. "So miss anything interesting." He asked as he stood up he fixed his hair then buttoned his shirt smiling. "Because I could have sworn my better half just turned up."
Well I think Cal broke South.
"I guess you right, I need to focus and try to detach myself sometimes... It's hard to do that. It's why most officers stay distant from their men, makes it easier to order them forward towards death." He sighed, then stared back in to her eyes. "I'll do my best to try and be a good teammate..." He smiled gently taking her hands from his face and holding them. "I needed this South, your a wonderful friend." He leaned over and gave her a kiss on the cheek before getting up. "Get to bed and rest, I'll give you my breakfast tomorrow as a treat for listening to a half crazy man ramble. For now here." He threw her the two remaining candy bars and walked towards the door. "And South, my door is always open... I'd like to talk with you again like this sometime, your a sweet girl." He turned and waved as he faded in to the darkness of the ship.
He sighed and then said something else, something he would regret later perhaps. "During the simulation I had only two casualties, an Agent whose name escapes me now and Agent South Dakota." He looked down at the ground. "I had ordered you to stay down I was going to rush a take and throw a C-12 charge, you decided they needed me more than you and rushed out instead, the charge destroyed the tank... You want down, sniper round. I ordered the retreat Penn and I dragged North away. Two weeks later I'm out scouting and come back North has killed the entire group, every one dead. He got a message, with proof you were alive and once we were all dead you two would be free to go. He killed me, he had a knife and I had rifle... I could have shot him but I couldn't... I just kept thinking about my sister and what I would do to get home to her and I..." He hung his head in his hands then wiped tears from his eyes. "Then I woke up here, everything had been a lie... I just... I broke down."

He sighed then looked at her. "The test was done to figure out how good I am. Test if I could beat a machine programmed to never let me win." He sighed. "South, I don't want to see anyone die again... I don't want to see you die again." He looked in to her eyes. "I guess that's why I'm not as good as the day we meet, I care for you all now. I heard stories about home and fought and bleed in that damn virtual hell. Hell I think I started to fall in love!" He groaned and leaned against the chair. He chuckled then sat back up. "Still you ate less in the Sim, so they were wrong there."
"Thanks so much Nicole, I'll hang around here and watch for awhile, but how about next time your on break I buy you a drink and we can talk. I'm a big fan of stories and I'm sure you've got a few to share." He said with a wave and smile. He walked back towards the crowd and continued to enjoy the show, planning his day. After the show he would go check out the exotic goods, then over to the monks, and lastly visit the esteemed Pegasus knights, they were less common in Valm and he had always found the Pegasus a much more beautiful creature than a Wyvern, however Wyverns had always seemed more intelligent, able to understand commands and human speech, he didn't know if Pegasi could do that but he did doubt it.
"I'll take a look at them, sadly I'm just one so I'd need a team if I to wanted compete." He said sighing, sometimes it was burden to travel alone. "Thanks for all the help Nicole, it's my first time Ylisse so I am a little lost and mesmerized by it all." He gave a laugh at the kids throwing them each a gold coin. "Go get yourself a treat kids, on me." With that he walked over to the tent. "Give this to Dominic that artist of a Wyvern Rider." He said before walking back out. "Hey Nicole, have you been in the city long I would like to know a few of the places I should check out before I leave. So do you know any place worth my time?" He said with a soft innocent smile.
Matthew, turned surprised at the girl's arrival, let alone her speaking to him. "Me? Oh I'm nobody special just a traveling tactician and soldier of fortune." He said looking her over, she genuine and very friendly, he decided it couldn't hurt to talk with her. "I do enjoy the show, I'm from Valm actually, my home had quite a Wyvern Riders so to see one in the air makes me little homesick. The names Matthew." He smiled and gave a half bow to the Nicole. "I was actually going to tip the rider, I just took home a nice prize from the arena on the south end figured I should spread the money around it's a festival after all and I don't need this much money making me a target of some thief." He said smiling at the girl, he scratched at his thick red hair before looking back at the crowd. "So can you tell me about your act?"
Matthew ducked as the axe blow nearly took of his head, giving the man a swift kick he rolled out of the way of a mage throwing a fire towards him. "I love this festival!" He shouted returning to the fray. Matthew had spent the night in the inn and come out the following morning to a shallow pit, this ring was home to a first blood tournament of fighting where four combatants hopped in and one came out unscathed.

His current fight was between a blonde well studied boy of a mage, a large axe wielding idiot with a mop of mud caked brown hair, and a auburn haired mercenary girl who was cahrge right at him. Drawing his blade he parried and drew his spell book, throwing a spell between her and the mage. She managed to roll free yet the mage became slightly burnt, thus the bouncers near the edge pulled him out.

The brute with the axe went for the girl next which gave him a perfect opening on his blind spot. One sword blow across the back later he was crying like a babe as they hauled him out. Now it came down to the the girl with the sword and him. She smirked and pressed the attack, he had to drop his spell book just to keep up blocking. However he crumpled to a knee and that's when he saw the opening, rolling around her he cut the back of her leg lightly and got up, exhausted.

He collected his spell book and then a cheering crowd pulled him out, some booed while others whine as they forked over money they had lost in bets. Yet Matthew just smiled as the man in charge handed him a bag of gold. "eight-hundred-fifty gold pieces young man, that fight has seen some of the heaviest betting in years! You were the wild card in that match ey lad, but you made me quite a rich man." The bookie laughed as Matthew nodded and walked away, waving goodbye to the man.

His mind moved back to the fight as he walked northward these guys were good, better than the bandits back home in sleepy Valm. People there had grown soft and happy, here war had ended only a few years back and they were still sharp, still tough. He smiled as he walked back towards the center of town, the next fight wouldn't be for a few hours. So he could see the sites and visit the shops in this amazing little town, he loved Ylisse what he had seen so far at least, the people here were friendly enough and they loved to hear his stories or a song or two.

As he neared the stalls he stopped just outside the crowd that was admiring the Wyvern Rider, he stopped watching it himself. Tying the bag of gold on to his belt he watched smiling, it reminded him Rosanne, of home. It was impressive to see tricks like this on a Wyvern as they were more stubborn than pegasi. He smiled and clapped as it did tricks, when the crowd dispersed he would go tip the man.
