The Rift had always had a strange sense of home to Iarus. While not within his realm of control, magic always held a strange connection with it and here at its center where it ebbs and flows a sense of peace. The Mad Musician and he had taken on what could be described as a master and apprentice and had even worked together on several occasions which resulted in creations that both gods used. It was nice to pick the brain of useful tips and not face ridicule belittling his intelligence, his last encounter with the White Star had come to mind. The Rift, however, was still as confusing as it's master which did little to help Iarus’ patience as he came with a specific purpose and the Rift was just as twisted as the one who created it.

”Sister!, I require your knowledge and expertise... I have a new project to work on!’

The realm itself seemed to shift and shudder as if the world around him heard and acknowledged his request.

The visit with Kymarat had proven about as successful as he had expected. Armed with the knowledge of his neighbor's movements the Murder King, as he had come to be known, had been quick to move and gain the upper hand. It would be far too late until he realized the truth behind his march and what the Grand Trickster was truly after. Back in his sanctum of the False Mirror Iarus continued work on his true plan, the creation of a race of snake men. These TRUE inheritors of this world will be his greatest creation.

As he gazed upon his creation Iarus couldn't help but take in a sense of pride, but he knew there was more to do to make it so perfect... only a couple more ingredients to go.

@A Lowly Wretch or anyone who has an opinion, I'm currently working on a post to introduce a new race the Sagu (naga from DND) and I plan to make a whole civilization any thoughts or concerns

’What is the greatest lie in the known world? I find myself pondering upon the moment of my creation often and wonder what great deception took place that a god of deception was needed. Trusted by none but wielded by ever creature both man and god alike what THING could have created one such as I. The greatest lie ever told...the truth.

The God of Deception had observed this particular tribe of humans for quite sometime now and for the life of him he could not fathom how disgustingly ignorant they were. His very life was and power was tied to these pathetic creatures which both infuriated and amused him. They were so easily manipulated and twisted that one could almost turn on man into a god himself if it were not for their predisposition for arrogance.

The leader of the the tribe, a man by the name of Kymarat, ruled the people with an iron fist and while the people seemed displeased with the tyrant no one is willing to do anything to stop him. A perfect candidate for the early stages of the grand plan. Under the guise of a masked wise man Iarus approached the cruel king,

”My king, I humbly request an audience with such a powerful ruler.

The sudden appearance of the masked man caused all those within the simple throne room to draw their weapons in defense of a king that needed no defenders,

”You dare approach my throne! How did you get past my guards?”

”It matters not oh mighty ruler, I come bearing news of your neighbors. They are gathering forces that you cannot possibly fathom and if you do not strike now they will become too powerful even for one such as yourself.

The not so subtle flattery softened the truth of an in pending invasion. Spears were lowered and swords sheathed he had his attention...good. He was too simple to let something like this go.

”Tell me what news you have old man and let's see if you live long enough to leave.”

You all have a hard road ahead with Iarus scheming against almost every single one of you lol. I've been dealing with a newborn (2nd son) and haven't had time to finish iarus' relationship, creation s or anything but I have a post that I can put up to get moving.

@A Lowly Wretch I have a question about what the gods can create. Specifically I wanted to see if Iarus could/would be able to create a new race (basically the naga/yuan-ti from DND) given his domain doesn't exactly lend him to be much of creation type of god?

Aaru, The City Among the River

A city built of his own design, Ahmenophus built a paradise where all magic flows to and from. Hidden among the desert sands the city is a haven for magicians of all types where magical knowledge could be acquired by those deemed worthy. The river which flows throughout is the flow of mana which all magicians pull from and which all expended mana must return. Ahmenophus designed his city and the flow of magic specifically in mind so that the natural flow of Magic could never be stopped or taken advantage of.

Heka, Ahmenophus’ Monument

Heka is Ahmenophus’ personal dwelling within his realm. Here is where the river of mana leads and where it originates. Within this personal sanctuary magic culminates and is stored much in the fashion of his older sibling. Among the vastness of this inner sanctum Ahmenophus experiments devising new and creative magic's in the hopes to pass on his knowledge for eons to come.

Biography:
For as long as he can remember there was nothing; blackness, nothingness and an eternal Void. But something chose him, pulled him from nothing and gave him life, purpose, and a reason to exist. His first memory is a strand, something bright and eternal, being plucked from...something and his form being wrapped around it. And so Ahmenophus was born.

It took him some time to grasp what and wh he was but it almost came natural to him, his control of the force known as magic. Memories flooded him of magics that he couldn't fathom and he saw how to improve them. As he wandered the earth he needed a place to think to concentrate all of this madness flowing through his mind. Stopping in the southern desert he constructed Heka and declared it to be the center of all magic, but this wasn't enough. Soon an entire city rose from the burning sands and Ahmenophus deemed that this would be a sanctum for all those who seek to practice magic and called it Aaru.

Knowing humanity to be a rather, greedy sort, Ahmenophus took precautions to ensure that his realm was not to be taken by those unworthy. Hiding its location in a mirage that always moves he devised several tests to ensure that those who sought The City Among the River would be able to devise its location through carefully crafted maps and artifacts but would also be of noble intention. This has been the way magic and Aaru has grown for all these years.

Creations

Djinn

Djinn are beings created out of pure mana from the Aaru river. Chosen to be the physical manifestations of all magic they are able to wield magic in its purest form aside from Ahmenophus himself. Almost always guardians of sacred magical treasures and liaisons to magicians around the world they are seen and known to all as Guardians of Magic. It is said that if you capture a djinn they are forced to grant three wishes.

Types of Djinn

Djinni - Masters of wind and water, these are the most common form of djinn. Jack's of all Trades of magic they are most commonly seen acting as the liaisons to magicians on behalf of Ahmenophus.



Ifriti - Masters of fire and war-based magic, these are mainly seen as generals in Ahmenophus’ army. More malevolent of all the djinn they rarely reach out to mortals and will often kill those who attempt to contact them.



Marid - Masters of earth and protection magic, these djinn are seen as guardians of sacred mystical artefacts. Often found in the harshest parts of the desert they tend to be isolationist by nature.

The Aaru - The humans of the southern desert, these humans named themselves after the Aaru river from which life flows through the area. The original founders were taught the building techniques of Ahmenophus' city and built a great civilization that has lasted for ten thousand years. A city of magicians and scholars they often send out envoys all over the world to learn of all things mystical.



Sekmaut - (Sehk-moot) The city of the Aaru people. The construction of the city was influenced by the design invented by Ahmenophus and improved upon by each passing ruler. The seat of power is held by a Maharaja and hia vizers who rules everything in conjunction with Ahmenophus' wishes.

Val'dun, the False Mirror

Hidden deep in the Surkesh jungles southwest of the main continent lies the realm of the Father of Lies. Val’dun is difficult to define, its true nature is always shifting depending on the perception of those who enter it. At its core is a circular maze of mirrors surrounded by unnatural mist to obscure the truth from any who seek to pierce through the great lie. There is no throne, no great seat of power here as Iarus simply walks through unfettered observing those he allows to enter.

On its surface however Val’dun takes on the appearance of an abandoned temple hidden within dense foliage of the jungle island. In the deepest depths of this temple lies an single mirror made of imperfect glass which houses many flaws and cracks upon its surface. As Iarus grew in power he discovered that the temple continued to shift and change to fit his whims.

Born of the first lie told in creation, Iarus considers himself to be the oldest of his siblings and will often attempt to flaunt this to any and every one in creation. He is quite often skirting around the shadows of humanity, and divinity, twisting and manipulating those he sees for his own ends. Often scavenging the spoils of those fight and die due to his schemes, he is often devising plans to usurp power from other gods.

A jealous and devious god, Iarus is often desiring the power of some of his stronger siblings and will often torment those he deems worthy of his attention. Mortals, while his favorite tools, are seen as just that. He enjoys twisting humanity to his schemes but finds them lacking and real abilities being too weak with lifespans that amount to practically nothing.

Surkesh Jungles

The jungles of Surkesh are a dense tropical jungle split in half by an unnamed mountain range. Most of the area has not been touched by human hands and as such the natural wildlife has grown unchecked and strange. Through out the thick natural growth there are strange ruins that seem to predate anything known leaving the whole area surrounded in mystery.
